Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church, has called for an all-Russian ban on “encouraging women to have abortions” in order to combat the demographic crisis
“As a member of the clergy, I testify that an abortion is a disaster and a tragedy for the woman and those close to her,” Kirill said in January, per the BBC.
Putin sees it as “an acute problem,” per the BBC. Kirill says anti-abortion policies are the solution.

You know what I love?
Giant Killer Robots draped in ceremonial tapestries that display their kill-counts, planet of manufacturer, when and how they were wrecked, repaired and whether the dishonor has been avenged.
Soldiers wearing the pelts of predatory fauna/flora from their homeworld over their powered armor, sacred texts and sigils painted onto the sides of their explosive projectile weapons.
Old warships, still in service, that have hallways lined with instructional shrines meant to ward off mutiny and mechanical failure, accompanied by little memorials to those who died when the shrines failed.

Israel Is "Engineering Famine" In Gaza
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amnesty International says Israel is “engineering famine” in Gaza. Organization head Agnes Callamard adds, “all states that cut UNRWA funding, sold weapons and supported Israel bear responsibility too.”
Yazan Al-Kafarna, a 9-year-old Palestinian boy with cerebral palsy, was forced to flee the Israeli invasion of Beit Hanoun with his family to southern Gaza. Recently, Yazan’s health deteriorated due to a shortage of food and oxygen.
Today, Yazan passed away due to insufficient healthcare and a lack of specialized food for his condition at Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, exacerbated by the Israeli blockade of Gaza.
Biden and Netanyahu did this. Media justified it. Institutions protected it. Protestors lost jobs and reputations fighting it. We will never forget. Or forgive.
Abdul Rahman Al-Dahdouh, an elderly Palestinian, died due to severe dehydration and malnutrition as a result of Israel’s continuous prevention of food convoys from reaching northern parts of Gaza.
Israel did this. With the full support of the US and Britain. We must ensure every criminal who played a role in this genocide faces justice.
Future generations will not forgive us if we don’t.

Defence Minister Bill Blair says he is committed to pushing for increased investment in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) after two top commanders sounded the alarm recently on operational readiness. “Colleagues and shipmates, the [Royal Canadian Navy] (RCN) faces some very serious challenges right now that could mean we fail to meet our force posture readiness commitments in 2024 and beyond,” Vice-Adm. Angus Topshee, commander of the navy, said in a YouTube video posted earlier this week. Last week, Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre said military resources are strained amid increased calls for assistance in natural disasters and recruiting challenges.

Help, I'm dealing with some aggression issues in my rescue early 19th century officer. He already had a commission when I got him, and despite my best efforts he keeps going to war. I'm at my wit's end. Yes, he looks very dashing in that uniform, but I'm worried he could hurt himself, or hurt someone else's 19th century man :/
I'm sorry that you're dealing with this, which is notoriously common in 19th century men with a military background. Yes, that uniform is very appealing, but he won't stop seeking 'Glory'!
Tumblr media
Raised in a milieu of conquest and imperialism, it can be hard to redirect this type of 19th century man into different pursuits. The traditional answer is recreational hunting, which can have some of the excitement and chaos of the battlefield.
Tumblr media
But his drive for military engagement may be something that you have to accommodate. Try to obtain service near home, and keep him away from pith helmets before you have a Captain Peel on your hands! (It didn't end well for him).

Yo, wanna thank you for your support for us. Unfortunately racists are everywhere, and I honestly try and cut that shit out of people, but can't stop everywhere on the internet.
You don't have to thank me, you shouldn't be going through any of this shit in the first place. Lmao if our entire race of people had to stop being problematic in order to deserve help and human rights, we would all be toast. The brainrotted should pretend that other people and places are also like the USA – made up of diverse individuals and communities instead of a hivemind.
Real talk – I fully expected Ukraine politics by and large to shift to the right, because that's literally what happens when there's a war. It's why the Global South is mess – colonization is traumatic and destabilising, which breeds fundamentalist violence and paranoia. The US became hypernationalist af and spent 20 years attacking an entire population because of just one attack. If you call yourself anti-colonial, it's a fucking requirement to understand that people under threat become reactive, militaristic and hypernationalist. It's not human to expect otherwise, and it's fundamental to understanding the creation of the Global South, and the internal violence of minority communities in the Global North. That's why I was pretty disturbed last year by the "Ukraine army has to disavow its white supremacist battalion first" and its counter that the Ukrainian army is unproblematic really. It's so fuckin out of touch with the reality of war. Bro, the country is getting blitzed to hell, people are dying, its all hands on deck, literally anybody that shows up to help is your new best friend, anybody that gets in the way is an enemy. I grew up in a war, we have Aryan supremacists running the country right the fuck now thanks to the Easter Sunday bomb blasts, I have bloody lived this reality my entire life. That doesn't mean my country is only full of Aryan supremacists, it means it's full of their victims, and it means my people, all my people, even the shit ones, need help. If you're only gonna show up for us if we're pure as driven snow, you're an oppressive piece of shit contributing to the colonial power matrix. The right to live free is not contingent on being "deserving", it's intrinsic to being human.
You want racists and fascists to not get a foothold in a country? Then help make it safe to live in.

As recently as June 2022 and October 2019, Ecuador witnessed the same scenes of troops marching and tanks rolling into cities, enforcing curfews, and carrying out unrestricted raids and checkpoints. But on those occasions soldiers killed and mutilated dozens of workers, peasants and youth at mass protests against social inequality, inflation, unemployment and the collapse of public education and healthcare. In both cases, the media and authorities criminalized protesters as “narcoterrorists.”
Today, US imperialism is escalating its efforts to use its military power to counteract the decline of its economic position in Latin America and globally, as reflected in its proxy war against Russia in Ukraine and its support for the Israeli genocide in Gaza, which itself is part of an unraveling conflict across the Middle East.

Easygoing by Kurata Emi (1976)
This has been in the works for a while... We are proud to bring you a true gem from 1976, Kurata Emi's striking one shot, Easygoing.
Tumblr media
This story, especially the last couple of pages, hit me on a personal level. What really impressed me even more is that this story was published in Hana to Yume of all things. Isn't it sad to see what the magazine has become after publishing good stories like this one, reduced to a shoujo magazine filled with tedious romance stories that doesn't even a single brain cell? Honestly, I wouldn't have expected to see such historical and social criticism in a 1970s shoujo manga magazine.
Also, apologies for the text left in Japanese on p. 29, because I couldn't make sense of them for the life of me. I even asked people. So, unless someone sends me scans/pics of the print book, we'll never know. Digitalization does old manga dirty like that.
Get your self-loathing here:
DDL MangaDex
Now, be on the lookout for 5MENP's releases, because I'm passing the baton to them to finish this compilation off. I don't want to ruin Kurata's works with my crappy TLs.

I want a NATOwave style music video for Harrison Armory so bad
Sort of like this one:
youtube
I want to see a Saladin defending troops from cluster munitions.
A Genghis drowning an enemy mech in flames in close quarters
A Barbarossa emerging from a hollowed out asteroid and nailing an enemy spaceship.
That would be so fucking cool.
