if like me you don't really see it : in the 40's, mickey went through a redesign that seems based on a misunderstanding ? but now, a lot of people think early mickey had weird, soulless eyes. but you have to shift your perspective a little : the black dot isnt supposed to represent the whole eye, it's just the iris and he has in fact huge eyes, kinda like sonic! he doesnt even have a brow ridge or a widow's peak, that's just his two huge eyes meeting!
look ! his eyelids!
but nowadays, even the mickey mouse series that uses the "old" design treats the black dot as the whole eye!
Complex feelings about copyright and Disney's appalling ethics aside, it does unsettle me how quickly people jump to make and monetize the most unnerving, depraved content imaginable about characters created for children the second it hits the public domain
“I just don’t like it!” Mickey said, waving his hands at the window where said moon glared at him from the sky. “It glows too much! Directly in my eyes! I can’t fuckin’ sleep!”
“Okay…” Ian replied slowly. Too slowly. Mickey wasn’t being dramatic and unreasonable. He wasn’t. “Let’s switch places.”
Mickey sniffed, nose twitching. “Why would we fuckin’ do that?”
These were their unspoken spots on the bed. Mickey was always near the window, and Ian was near the door.
“Just do it, Mick. And scoot your pillow down a little. Trust me.”
They swapped spots. Mickey’s head hit the pillow further down the bed, and Ian turned on his side. His chest and shoulder obstructed the window from Mickey’s view.
“Oh,” he said quietly. And then, even more quietly, “Thanks.”
Ian rested his hand atop Mickey’s stomach, rubbing it and smiling softly. “We’ll shop for blinds tomorrow.”
We always talk about how mickey is so loyal to Ian, but never the fact Ian is just as loyal. They wouldn't even be together if Ian wasn't loyal and committed from the start. Not many people would stay with someone after they literally get married, no matter the circumstances. Lots of people would be put off if their ex BROKE OUT OF PRISON to see them. Ian is just as loyal as mickey.
