The Cure “Boys Don’t Cry” 1980
The non-UK version of their first album. It replaces some of the lesser tracks on the “Three Imaginary Boys” LP with stronger singles tracks. The Cure as they’d never be again. Robert Smith wasn’t very happy with the results and it should be noted that there was a huge shift in sound and band lineup after this album.
My copy’s cover is largely beat to hell but the wax is in great shape. I’m pretty sure I acquired it in the early ‘90s for nearly nothing. A quick check of it on Discogs reveals this has become a pricey record. Probably due to the presence of the now imaginary debut single.
