Note

When is the time to end a friendship? When's the time to walk away? And of course I know this is a generic question. But I struggle with ending friendships when they should have been ended a long time ago. Or when I should have never become friends with this person

Hey there,

This is a really good question to ask!

To begin with, in order to best answer your question, I think it’s really important to first acknowledge that we all make friends with others who may not be the greatest for us or our overall mental health. We all make friendships with those people, sometimes more than once and this is OK and is normal so please don’t be too hard on yourself.

I guess that when a friend is impacting on us in a negative way, then this may be a warning sign that the friendship we have with them may be toxic for us. This can look different for different people, as we are all different and deal with different situations or friends differently so this is something to keep in mind as well. Some examples may be though but are not limited to:

Not being able to be your true self whilst being around the friend

Feeling as though the friendship is more one-sided, where the friend may be expecting more from you and not giving anything back

Feeling triggered or overwhelmed by the friend. This could also be after speaking to the friend about these issues if you feel comfortable in doing so (completely OK if you don’t by the way!)

Feeling as though you are not being heard by the friend or are being ignored by them

These are just some examples for why someone may end a friendship with someone but in saying this, some people may find that they are unable to end the friendship and this is OK. Ending a friendship has to be when the person is ready and cannot be forced upon someone. For example, you may find that the friendship that you may be in isn’t good for you at all but you may not yet feel able to end the friendship. Don’t be too hard on yourself if the latter is the case, you can only do what you feel able to at the time.

Ways in which one may end a friendship may be to have a conversation with the other friend and outlining reasons for why you feel it would best to end the friendship. Some people may find it easier to write a letter or send a text/ email and some people may also find it easier to just walk away from the friend and cut contact straight away. Whatever you decide to do/ how you choose to end a friendship is OK and of course, different people will feel comfortable with doing it in their own way as well. What I have mentioned are just some ideas.

hey is there any advice you have for managing emotions when they’re always intense? I feel like most of the advice I’ve gotten from people is for those who don’t experience extreme emotions very often, but I experience them almost as a default and I want to know how to cope with that.

Hey there,

When dealing with and trying to manage intense emotions, different things work for different people. So, this is something to definitely keep in mind and so perhaps what others have suggested to you (even though they may not have experienced such intense emotions) just weren’t helpful suggestions for you but I am sure that they had the best of intentions.

I am not sure what you have tried so far, but here are some ideas you could give a go if you haven’t already:

Doing something physical. For example, going for a fast-paced walk or going for a run. Punching a pillow or screaming into one or punching something harder like a punching bag

Ripping up paper

Scribbling on paper, and just write. It does not need to make sense, just write what comes to mind – this can be really helpful and especially when you have intense and constant thoughts going through your head

Getting a piece of paper and just colouring whatever colour that best suits how you are feeling. I do this a lot by drawing a big circle and colouring it in with a mixture of colours that I am feeling at the time, even of it’s darker colours like black and red, just get those emotions out of you by using different colours. This is also really helpful when you are feeling a mixture of different emotions but cannot put a name to those emotions

Doing something to keep you busy and distracted and especially if the intense emotions that you are feeling are the kind of self-destructive ones that could result in you harming yourself

If Mha's hero course (specifically 1A & 1B) performed Hamilton, this is who I think would play each character (and little explanation).

Hamilton- Midoriya (he's the main character I mean come on it just matches up so well)

Burr- Todoroki (I just don't see Todoroki matching up with any other character, I feel he could play Burr well, it's a feeling in my heart)

Hercules Mulligan- Sato (look ik Sato isn't given much depth at all but I feel like the voices of him and Hercules lines up pretty well and I just want to give the poor guy SOMETHING to play, he never gets it anywhere else 😭)

Lafayette- Aoyama (ok yes a big part was the French speaking an accent that I think Aoyama could do better than the other, but I also think Aoyama has the capability of singing Lafayette's rap part)

John Laurens- Sero (again I think it's just cause the voices could match up)

Angelica- Momo (I just associate Angelica and Momo because they are both intelligent and care about the feelings of others also red color scheme)

Eliza- Uraraka (not because Midoriya is Hamilton, actually maybe a little bit 😶 but because I feel Uraraka could absolutely sing Burn really well)

Peggy- Asui (I just really want to hear Asui go "and Peggy") OR Mina (I can't really choose which one)

Washington- Iida (I mean- come on. Do I really have to explain my thoughts process here? He's the president)

King George- Monoma (the sass and flare he would give in this role would be UNMATCHED)

Samuel Seabury- Awase (he gives me that vibe)

George Eacker- Shinso (I know him and Midoriya aren't beefing anymore but I want the drama and I know he can serve that drama)

Philip Hamilton- Kaminari (he can give energy, that's all really ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯)

That one Bullet Ensemble character- Jiro (I have no explanation but I feel jirou just needs to have a significant role in this)

Maria Reynolds- Mina (maybe because ik she would give all the drama ✨ but also because I wanted her to be cast as Peggy but now I'm leaning towards Asui for that one, idk)

James Madison- Kirishima (he's bff's with the next guy and I can't separate them 😭) You simply must meet

Thomas Jefferson- Bakugo (the SASS, the ROASTS, the RIVALRY yet RESPECT AT THE END between Hamilton and friendship towards Madison and Burr I guess)

Charles Lee- Mineta (nothing to do with character or anything I just so desperately want to see him standing on a box going "I'm a general, WEEEEEEE")

The one Ensemble that is next to King George with his songs- Kendo (I just want there banter somehow included in this)

The doctor for the duels- Koda (I want to see him in glasses :>)

BOOK GUY- Ojiro (I know he has moves, I want him to do the moves with the books) (also give Book Guy the respect and admiration he deserves 😔)

+Bonus- the rest of Class 1b are Redcoat ensemble while the rest of Class 1a are Bluecoat ensemble

If you want me to do the same thing but Class 1B gets the main roles, I have those ideas as well, lmk (I might do it anyway, but I forget 🥲)

I'm ok just feeling a bit irritated because today is the rare day I feel like going for a jog and I can't find my keys.

1. No. Politicians and celebrities exist but there's no real world people in Obscured Eyes.

2. Yes those exist and they will be shown in the story at some point.

3. Yes but they're not real world paintings.

4. Kinda. They look similar to TVs in the early 2000s.

5. Yes but most people just wear what they like and don't follow trends.

6. Well, if counting neurological disorders too, Daisy would be Obsessive Love Disorder, Catherine would be Psychopathy, Beatrice would be PTSD and Penelope would be anxiety.

7. Only in the biggest schools. Most schools just have the students carry their bags with them.

8. Well I've heard of her but it doesn't really scare or effect me since I'm not Serbian and it just sounds like an urban legend.

9. I did think about running away at times but never went through with it. Can't even leave now I'm an adult because of a situation I'm in and because I can't afford to live alone.

10. It's whatever. It's mostly teens and even though many are a bit cringe they're not doing anything wrong.

I've seen bronys, homestuckers, and weeaboos so I've seen worse lol.
