patient uses the same old tired jokes (“how’d you know!!” when I ask him his address to confirm, etc). after every single check-in question. When I continue politely on, he immediately turns hostile and says “You know, usually when the girls ask me these questions they do it with a SMILE.” After that my tone went from neutral to “fuck you” real quick, lmao

Truly a waste. Sombra was already well built up, and despite his lack of proper lines in the past he DID still have a good voice actor. That deep, rumbly, handsome voice...

Only to somehow be replaced by this voice? Not saying the actor did a bad job, like that laughter wasn’t bad at all with all the energy put into it. He clearly put a lot of work and energy into the role, we were just expecting someone else to fit what we have heard used in the past.

Headcanon: Grogar messed up on the resurrection, Sombra never noticed and nopony is saying anything about it ‘cuz reason.

It was Big Jim Miller, one of the writers just standing in for the few lines Sombra originally had. if he had reprised the role it would have been terribly obvious he’s not a VA and Sombra would have sounded like a bad fancast.   

Oh, I see. I can respect the choices then.

Indeed Sombra’s original lines weren’t too hard to do, was just about making grunts, laughs and a few drawn out words, mixed with after effects.

A full on VA job would yield an entirely different result for sure, from a less experienced person making the same voice outside that original setting.

Indeed... they could have still looked for someone who could aim better at the original voice and how it sounded. Need that deep, growly Sombra voice box, man..

Still not mean to dis on the voice actor they got. Is just a matter of what we expected. Especially with how so many fan VA’s have gone in that direction to voice Sombra in fan content.

im still pissed about Akiza's potential, she was THE most interesting character in 5Ds until they decided to just...Do That and blend her into the background as the generic Female Friend supporting the male protag role

That’s what I was disappointed by too. Sure, I like Tea Gardner and Alexis Rhodes especially, but neither of them had potential since they were introduced to be the token girl right from the start. But Akiza actually had plot relevance, she was POWERFUL, she had character development... and lost basically all the agency she had, if she ever had any to begin with. In Duel Links, the reason she went to Duel World in the first place was to watch Yusei and Jack, and felt the need to ask Yusei for permission to stay there. (I don’t blame Yusei for this, since he himself said that Akiza didn’t need his permission), and while I’ve already talked about how pretty much every female character had a role based on at least one male character, Akiza’s character arc could’ve led to her becoming independent, confident, doing things for herself. It’s great that she learned to trust others and accept herself, but becoming dependent on the people who helped her get there isn’t a good ending to a character arc. It’s like, one of the final steps, where she’s learned that people do genuinely like her and that she’s not a monster, but still needs to learn that she doesn’t need other people to tell her what to do. It feels like she landed on that phase of her growth and the writers thought that was good enough so they just left her there.

right?!?! you can usually tell the difference between the ones where I’m like “:/ hmm i think they made her too pale here” and it was probably just a relatively innocent mistake and the ones where it’s like, who the fuck is this?

there was some clem/vi art a while back where clem and vi had the same skintone. WHAT game did you play!!! how do you not look at it and realize it looks absolutely nothing like clementine.

Mewtwo’s shirt print design is so busy and un-subtle I could never wear it to work...he was robbed...

that’s fair tbh!! although I believe you can choose options of where/how the print is placed, aside from just an all-over print shirt, so you may have subtler options!!
