For me Adam didn’t dislike Sam and Dean until Zachariah told them.
“ Really? Trust me, kid, when the heat gets hot, they're not gonna give a flying crap about you. Hell, they'd rather save each other's sweet bacon than save the planet. They're not your family. Understand? Now...you want to see your mom again or not? “
He didn’t expect Dean to come for him in that room, he was baring in mind what they’d told them. It’s not Dean’s fault he couldn’t also save them from that room, he just feels betrayed i guess because he was truly scared for his life and was really depending on Dean .
He mostly dislikes Sam for a similar reason and it’s that they got a bail out of the cage leaving them and Michael alone. He really thought he could trust them but again Zachariah’s words came true twice.
In reality if i recall correctly Dean DID try to make a deal with death to get Adam out of there but they were like ‘ lol no’
point is . These brothers are are a complete mess omg.

Loki and Mobius walking in a corridor when Loki stops to look out into the TVA city.
Loki: I thought there was not magic here.
Mobious: There isn't.
This seemed odd to me. Come on, Loki... you've been living in a space disk that has been around for thousands of years, on a culture based on interplanetary travel thanks to a big and powerful machine that is the Bifrost, plus you have floating buildings. You must know what technology is capable of!
And then I remembered an old post (sorry I don't know who said it) saying that, for the advanced society that is the asgardians, their warrior culture was... archaic?
They fight with swords and spears (they only use the energy cannons as defense), they don't have/show big spaceships for travel/trade (only the Bifrost and little skiffs), they believe in greatness through battle...
What if the asgardians are not as advanced as we thought? What if they've improved their magic system and left technology development behind?
Didn't Thor said in the first movie
Where I come from, technology and magic are the same thing.
As one of the founding families of Ecruteak, the Kouyou family has always been around. The Kouyou estate maintains its historical appearance despite countless renovations done over time and, though the main house no longer counts as many residents and servants as it had in the past, the large garden and the four separate buildings maintain their luster. Over the generations it has worked with others to protect the tower, and Ho-Oh's legacy, and had been one of the families advocating for a new tower to be erected, rather than rebuild the burnt one. The Kouyou family had been one of the biggest sponsors for this new project, and it was done with relatively few problems.
That is what most people know about the family : that they're old, rich, and had certain influence in town decisions made in the past. However, there are a few things that people do NOT know quite as much : the family secrets that are kept close to their heart.
For starters, the family is in possession of a rainbow feather. Though it is kept in the treasury and only ever taken out when someone of the main family has a coming of age ceremony.
It's possible for someone of the branch family to become part of the main family, and vice versa : light hair and red eyes are a staple look of the main family, and everyone in it needs to have at least ONE of these traits. The lighter the hair and the redder the eyes : the better. Because it proves the Kouyou blood runs strong, strengthening the chance of the family's hidden bloodline trait to show.
They can bond with legendary Pokémon who have accepted them fully. While it's generally limited to only one, there HAVE been stories of those who bonded with two. Linked past the means of a regular Pokémon and their trainer, these people share an emotional connection with their bonded Pokémon. They are sensitive to each other's emotions, and the Pokémon can appear before their bonded at any given time despite where they might've been prior. The closer the bonded are connected, the stronger the results : there are said to have been occasions where the trainer was able to make use of the attacks of their Pokémon, while the Pokémon tends to be stronger when in close promixity to its trainer.
Still, in it's entire history, only a handfull of the Kouyou family has been able to make use of this bloodline trait, no doubt in small part thanks to how rare it is to even SEE a legendary Pokémon, let alone find a way to connect.
I JUST realized how shitty of a friend Tron actually was, I mean. I knew he was. I have older posts saying so. But I mean it like during the Grid Era (I'mma call it that). Have y'all noticed that when Tron thought Ram and Flynn died during that blast from the first movie-- he was so utterly upset he shouted and his circuits increased in brightness? Yeah, obviously. But have y'all noticed how Tron didn't do that to Dyson in Uprising when that disc hit him across the face? You'd imagine that after losing, and almost losing his beloved friends he'd be more protective of his new ones.
Like, if your friend got sliced in the face you'd call for medical help right? Carry them to safety, seek help, comfort them, and show them that you're there for them. Well.... Tron didn't do any of that. He just saw Dyson's face get damaged, probably asked if he was okay, and just didn't do anything about it. Even when Flynn arrived later-- he didn't beg or worriedly tell Flynn to fix his dear friend Dyson. He just interjected, "He sustained that injury while in the field, sir." All matter of factly. He never even brought up or asked Flynn if he could help, he was just indifferent about the situation.
Also (my memory may be a little foggy of this one) Tron didn't seem all that upset Able died either. Sure he could've stayed strong for Beck, but I don't think he even comforted him. Just gave him the, "Shit happens." Shpeel. However, Tron obviously cared more about Beck than he did to Dyson and Clu. I would assume it's because Beck is his successor, his heir if you will. I'd imagine that Tron would have to care a little more since he wasn't physically okay to go and search for a new Renegade every passing cycle, and after a while he probably did begin to genuinely care for Beck and saw him as a program he needed to help grow.
Before anyone says, "TRON HAS FEELINGS." I know he does. I've seen him feel despair, love, happiness, anger, loneliness, hopelessness and hope. I've seen him do all of that. That's not why I made this. I made this to point out that AFTER entering the Grid, he became indifferent to the people around him other than Flynn. My point being, and this is my own HC that I believe firmly in, is that Flynn programmed Tron to be more loyal and animated towards him. However the result of this is that Flynn grew emotionally distant from other people and ultimately made him a bad friend. I'm unsure if Flynn was aware of the consequences of that or not, or if he knew what he was doing would change Tron. But Tron didn't start off as bad friend (especially in Kingdom of Hearts, but that's a bit different), he cared about the people around them and was protective of those he loved. But right when be entered the Grid he was different, and I think Flynn did something. I just think Flynn was being selfish, enjoyed being praised, changed Tron's coding so all he did was side with Flynn-- probably because he knew the programs would like Tron and wanted him to convince the others that Flynn was great and knew what he was doing (which has worked before), and because that would mean Tron would be protective of him meaning Flynn could do whatever he wanted and the security program would just keep him from dying. And as he know, Flynn put himself in a lot of dangerous situations because he was aware Tron would prevent him from being harmed.
This would explain why Clu was so aggressive about Tron talking or defending Flynn and even telling him later on, "He betrayed all of us." Clu's way of possibly telling Tron he knew what Flynn did, and Tron should feel betrayed despite being programmed to continuously support Flynn, which could also explain why Tron never brought up Flynn or said his name-- because he understand Clu's words and meaning, finally understanding why things ended the way the did.
I love Flynn and Tron, I really do. I even ship them, but that doesn't mean I can't shit on them. Tron was left to deal with the aftermath of Flynn's actions. The possible change in his coding lead to him being a bad friend, which caused Dyson to easily not regret teaming up with Clu to hurt Tron, not regret torturing him, and surely not regret taking everything away from him. Again, I'd like to say that Tron was a good friend in the Old System Era, but obviously he became indifferent to the people around him and hadn't bothered to become a better person. Not that I blame him or what he's done or ended up becoming.
I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts or ideas!
(Also note, I'd like to say that everyone who was Tron's underlings, that includes his three special soldiers, Cyrus, and Beck-- all brought out a different reaction in him. Probably because he felt obligated to lead and protect them, failing at almost all of them possibly made him feel incompetent and hopeless)
Hi! Do you have any headcanons around Greed and May's relationship post canon (if Greed didn't d word that is)
hmmm well given mei's skill at adopting dangerous men i feel like they'd get along alarmingly well haha
i stand by the fact greed doesn't really understand what children are but i feel like once he gets over that learning curve he'd absolutely love mei since she's a dangerous little spitfire and absolutely adorable (i imagine much like scar greed can easily be won over with small animals as well)
plus since greed and ling were/are sharing i feel like he could very easily lay claim to mei as his sibling by proxy - screw the blood relatives this one's better look it's Pink
on mei's end she probably would more immediately get along with greed than with ling purely because he's not blood related to her so there's no past history to deal with - and yet again she does have a habit of adopting dangerous men so she's in her element with greed
I hated Alina in the books and in the show she doesn't even want to have a farm or anything she wants to travel, and then they cut the scenes on how she repressed her powers not cuz of Mal but because she thinks it led to her parents death, and they cut all of her training and her making friends with the other Grisha and what I'm sayin is fics are where I can have Alina with a personality and that makes me so sad cuz fuck powerless Alina she didn't even do evil to be punished
You bring up a great point about her wanting to travel the world. That's the only internal want or desire she has as a character outside of mal. But yeah even that's tainted by the whole me and mal dreamed of traveling the world. So I'm still not sure if she's just repeating mal's wants. But still, ending up as a housewife was certainly not what she wanted. And she did want power at several points even though the narrative severely punished her for it before forcing her into the house wife mould.
Her codependence on Mal certainly was a big reason for the repression when the grisha testers came, but I really hope the show explores the parents angle, especially some she's half shu and grisha are tortured and experimented on in Shu Han. So repression for self preservation has to be tied to generational trauma. Like why were her parents crossing the fold before they died? Seeking asylum in Ravka? Hope the show writers really explore that to flesh her out as an individual and make her less codependent on Mal moving forward.
Honestly, after reading six of crows, I WANT her to travel the world first and cross paths with northern witch hunters and kerch slavers to grasp the stakes of being the most wanted grisha and going after the other amplifiers on her own. I lowkey want her and mal to run off to Shu Han to blend in better instead of being the easy to spot foreigners elsewhere. There could be a backstory there. A reverse journey of the one her parents made (accident on the fold to shu territory), getting captured, make her own escape no dues ex machinas please, a reality check for how its really like for grisha outside the little palace, etc.
But you're right about the training part. That arc in the book when she first learns to use her powers is the only thing about the books that feels interesting and somewhat well done. They should have kept it. Especially the training with the mirrored gloved. Instead of going full mary sue with the "i can just do it on my own during a boring dress up scene." And yeah, she needs an actual personality instead of just being codependent on mal and getting horrified by the darkling and being ok with having power.
So, I want to expand a little more on the rebirth symbolism we saw in the new trailer. @mareebird already talked about the significance of the nudity in a great post here. I also saw @be-a-snake-stab-your-brother mention it last night—so I don’t have much to add on that note. What I do want to talk about is how falling has tied into rebirth for Loki throughout the MCU.
The act of falling has a lot of significance for Loki and the rebirth of self. He falls from the Bifrost Bridge in Thor 1 and becomes a different person—the person that he is, in fact, at the outset of the series. His fall in Thor 1 is very clearly meant to be metaphorical and physical, and that’s what we see in Avengers: the Fallen Prince, changed from what he sees as his father’s final rejection of him, and also literally changed because Thanos and the Mind Stone have been exerting control over him.
But: he also falls in Ragnarok, and while I definitely think "I have been falling...for thirty minutes!” is really just meant to be funny, it’s easy to retcon symbolism onto it. Loki falls into the Sanctum (then falls again when Strange moves the portal) and he finds closure with his father—which changes him. He also literally finds out that neither Thor nor he are exactly who they thought they were. I think you could also extrapolate that he falls onto Sakaar in a similar way that Thor does, and again, he becomes a different person (the Loki who has noped out on Asgard, who’s just chaotic and lawless and doing what he can to survive).
Pokémon metacanon : road to being a trainer [ Johto vs Galar ]
Please note that this is all my own meta-canon. It's something I came up with to explain certain things in Kira’s story. On that note, I'm not going to be all MINE MINE MINE or whatever and, if you think it sounds nice and want to use the meta as well, then by all means! Go for it! Pokemon is something meant to let us all bring fun, and if this will help you achieve that, that’ll only make me happy! ^^
Johto and Galar have some key differences when it comes to Pokémon trainers, and the road to becoming one.
Johto has many trainer schools. It's very normal for children to study at them, graduate, receive a Pokémon from either their teacher or gym leader, and to venture into the world at age 10-12. From there on, roughly half of the graduates will continue with a follow up education, while the other half ventures into the world as Pokémon Trainers.
The ones who proceed to higher education generally already know what they wish to do with their lives, whereas the ones who head out as trainers, don't. The time spent in the field shows them their potential in terms of battles, catching Pokémon, and whatever available options suit them the best. Most return home within a year and return to school to pursue their choices, others stay abroad to continue training and taking on the gyms.
( Johto and Kanto are very close, so things work the same in Kanto - especially with how technically minded Kanto is. It’s very heavily based on Pokémon research and thus the one who actually set the example for Johto, actively urging young trainers to explore and find new things. )
Meanwhile, things work differently in Galar. You need an endorsement from a gym leader ( or someone of even higher position ) to be allowed to take place in the gym challenge. As a result, people tend to start their gym challenge later in the Galar region than they do in the Johto one. Since it's so hard to get an endorsement, less people actively try to become famous Pokémon trainers as well, and instead tend to pursue other professions from the start. In Galar, the championship is more akin to a sport to watch, rather than aim to partake in.

A note from the translator:
Throughout my travels, it has occurred to me that Zabrak stories tend to be rather grim. And full of lessons.
Aside from the obvious one: don’t kill your brother. It is a cautionary tale about obsession--and the importance of environmental sustainability.
Ancient Zabraks were nomadic, living at the mercy of nature. A powerful force-wielding hunter would have been both a boon and a threat. Such power over the food supply would inevitably lead to abuse. The ancient people put great stock in achieving balance, and to temper strength with humility.
Another common theme is duality. “Good” and “evil” exist within a single person. The Peregrine is both destroyer and saviour. A self-made monster. Horrifying yet pitiful. His crime is great, but his punishment seems disproportionately cruel.
His redemption is uncertain: catching your own shadow or using your tears to fill the ocean both seem like impossible tasks. Yet one is selfish, the other altruistic. So perhaps the choice is more important than outcome. The Peregrine is trapped in a hell of his own design. To escape, he must grow as a person.
I always found this particularly poignant. People are not static beings, they are subject to change and improvement. If there is a way to fall, there will be a way to rise again.
So, I invite you to be introspective. For us, the Peregrine represents an “everyman” character. Aside from the glowing “star-like” eyes, which denote him as a powerful force-wielder, his description is kept deliberately vague. In the unabridged version, his back bore “many stripes”, either tattoos or scars, with skin like the “setting sun”, to be interpreted as a range of colours. (To preserve the ambiguity, Polaris opted to draw in black-and-white, instead of the more traditional red.)
The Peregrine is a mirror. Only through recognising evil within ourselves, can we hope to exorcise it.
I hope you enjoyed our story.

What sense do they most rely on?
I’d like to say something tangible, but I really think he trusts his intuition over anything else. Because ya know, kinda psychic.
What is the most beautiful thing they’ve ever seen?
*suppresses urge to make a snide remark about asses* The morning after every particularly traumatizing night. The sunrise, the symbolic sense of renewal and hope and all that mushy stuff moves even this cynical old bastard.
Does your character have any chronic medical conditions?
For one, John is an middle aged man that takes questionable care of himself. He has aches and pain, and no doubt that smoker’s cough is back. While he didn’t stop smoking even after the whole lung cancer thing, I would like to think he cut back a bit. Not to mention modern society has made it painfully hard to be a smoker. Can’t really smoke anywhere can you? Maybe someday I’ll go through the comic and see if there’s any real difference between before and after the cancer cure. Nonetheless, he still smokes and that obviously isn’t great for him, yeah?
In what ways does your character annoy others?
Recklessly endangers his life and limb. Also, when he acts hard around the people that know he has a soft and gooey centre.
015. Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue?, 064. In what ways does your character annoy others?, 091. What type of music does your character like?

Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue?
It depends on the situation, really. Sometimes she’ll try to talk her way out of something, use her wit instead of a weapon, but she’s also a hit first ask questions later kinda gal if she’s feeling threatened. Talks shit the whole time, too. So. Bit of both?
In what ways does your character annoy others?
Some would say, she’s annoying by proxy, and in a sense, they wouldn’t be wrong. She can be insufferable, hot tempered, manipulative, loud, and is really obnoxious when she plays dumb. Her trademark is needling people. She teases, she gets in people’s faces, she uses psychoanalysis to get under people’s skin.
What type of music does your character like?
Bit of everything. She gravitates toward high energy music, techno, metal, pop, dance, rap, and hip hop. Harley is also a sucker for a torch song. You know...I’ve been thinking of a pop star/rock star AU for her, depending on what I hit on, but I love the idea of her making pop music but play it live with instruments instead of a mixer or whatever. Idek, I’ve never actually seen a pop act live.
Literally your tags about Johnny and his cptsd and how he’s stunted at age 17.. I’ve been thinking about this SO MUCH but currently have no brain cells to articulate anything
I WILL ARTICULATE THINGS ON YOUR BEHALF THEN:
Seventeen year old Johnny Lawrence was almost MURDERED in a parking lot by a man he trusted and viewed as a mentor. He was almost murdered for GETTING SECOND PLACE at a fucking tournament for like, teenage after school sports, with are supposed to be fun and safe. HE WAS ALMOST MURDERED IN FRONT OF ALL OF HIS FRIENDS, BY A LITERAL FUCKING ADULT, WHO SYSTEMATICALLY GROOMED HIM FOR THE DURATION OF THE TIME HE SPENT TRAINING UNDER HIM. The event at the beginning of TKK2 is definitely a traumatic event, but because Kreese was grooming Johnny for so long, and was clearly a huge influence in his life (since his negligent/abusive stepfather paved the way for a predator to swoop in and take advantage) there’s absolutely precedent as well for a Complex PTSD diagnosis, as Kreese’s role in his life was one of repeated trauma culminating in a traumatic event, not just the murder attempt.
This is why Johnny is so fucking stunted and cannot move on--his life as he knew it ended that day. His foundation of trust and identity tried to fucking kill him. He probably had so many gut feelings and building anxieties and concerns about the things Cobra Kai was teaching him, but stuffed them down because he was a kid and an adult who he trusted was not just telling him it was ok, but that it was honorable and admirable and important. And he had NO OTHER adult voices telling him otherwise. (I WISHHHH they had not cut that scene from TKK where Daniel tells Johnny that maybe Kreese is wrong and that his methods are dangerous. It would have been so interesting to have a textual incidence of Johnny being aware, on some level, that what he was learning was flawed). Anyway, to have that all come crashing down--to realize Daniel was right, Mr. Miyagi was right, his gut, which he ignored, was right, Kreese WAS dangerous and crazy, so much so Johnny very nearly died as a result of it. He can’t move on from this moment--he’s recreating the past, stuck in an endless loop where he’s fixated on his teenage rival because it’s far easier to pin everything that happened on one powerless kid like him, than it is to admit he was systematically abused long term by his mentor.
I ALSO HAVE MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT ELEMENTS OF SEXUAL ABUSE IMPLIED IN KREESE’S RELATIONSHIP TO JOHNNY (and Terry Silver’s relationship to Daniel....what the fuck is going on with Cobra Kai and Vietnam and toxic masculinity huh) BUT I WILL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER DAY!!!
girl i have not been able to stop thinking about an alternate season seven for like the last few weeks. season seven but cas becoming god has rippling effects on all the dimensions: heaven, hell, purgatory etc and its not juat the leviathans that get out. souls from heaven find themselves resurrected on earth. demons that have been in hell for thousands of years are unleashed, and the cage....well. all this to say that mary winchester finds herself on earth, alive, and her boys are unrecognisable. and john keeps visiting her in her dreams, asking her to say yes. just say yes.
