Mermay Day 2: River Otter

I had first encountered the River Bandits just a few days into my internship at the Merm Rescue and Rehabilitation center. We had received a report of a gang of the critters hauling away with whole boats worth of catches. They're on the smarter side of Merms, being one of the few I've seen using humanoid tools and jewelry of all things. Best I can describe them is destructively curious, conspicuously playful, and aggressively territorial. This particular trouble maker we named Samuel.

Forgot to upload this before so, here it is, day 2 of Mermay! The prompt is "upside down" and my sister wanted me to make an eel mermaid, so I had to make one of course, amazing delciious idea that sparked my imagination.

The "hair" is this swoopy membrane eels have around their body (same thing for the swoopy membran around this mermaid body).

It was a really fun piece all in all
