OPM stuff from way too long ago (I was in high school when the anime aired). I miss 2016. I remember how making mermaid au’s was also such a big thing back in the day (not saying it still isn’t, but the internet’s just built different these days tbh). Years later, OPM is still my favorite manga in existence.

Fun trivia about my Mermaid battle of the bands au:

The moonatics first song was called "Beat You With Hammers" and it includes killer yelling "FUCKING HAMMERS" 7 times

When error first joined he kept causing power outages

The Stars first album was very different from the rest of their catalog it was called "dig up the garden" and it was mainly a vent album they sometimes go back to the style of the first album for singles.

Both groups have several dozen covers of sea shanties because sailing is engraved into their hometowns culture

Geno does exist in the this au and yes he saw a skyscraper size merman and said smash.

Error and ink sometimes appear in music videos in their mermaid forms but via because I want to everyone of their fans thinks it's special effects

Yes the battle of the bands is basically just the two main groups performing and no one else. Sue me

So much hijinks, ink floods dream's house at one point, error biting people, etc

Nightmare and error have a major will they won't they thing going on

Dust is a germaphobe

Cross also functions as a bodyguard

A few thoughts for the merman AU:

- I think all merfolk can disguise themselves to appear as their "full" sea creature counterpart to humans. So for instance Genos can appear as a full orca to people on a ship. The illusion might break on land, maybe? Not sure about the details yet. I also feel like they can't fool other seafolk, probably.

- Saitama is the only known seafolk who can ALSO turn himself full human and walk around on land like one. He keeps a stash of like people's forgotten beach clothes in a safe spot to wear, after learning the hard way that humans don't usually approve of public nudity.

- Saitama has a favourite seaside restaurant, whenever he has found enough dropped coins on the beach he goes there to order fries.

- The first time they meet, Genos tries to hunt Saitama. Seal hunting would normally require group tactics but he hasn't had a pod in 4 years, desperately he tries anyway. Saitama isn't fazed at all and just sits on a beach(?) watching, telling Genos to not strand himself. Maybe he does, and Saitama pushes him out into the water again to help him. I'm picturing him at the edge of the water and very, very frustrated that he can't reach this stupid seal guy who had the -audacity- to save him from beaching himself after Genos was trying to hunt him.

- Genos has sworn to seek revenge on the whaler that took his family and either had been looking for a way to get around on land or realizes the potential when he sees Saitama transform. He begs Saitama to teach him, but Saitama doesn't know how to teach him to do that, it's just a thing he can do.

- Genos starts following Saitama around, quickly thinking of him as his pod leader; a title Saitama disagrees with lol. Learning more about seal life philosophy Genos does also gradully mellow out a bit.

- Genos may or may not try to win Saitama's favour by diving for sunken ship treasures to offer Saitama so he can buy more fries

Another note!

I write SPECIFICALLY for chubby readers, since-

I am a chubby girl myself and I can't find any x chubby reader fics from/for my fandom to save my life- (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡

Granted, some people may see it as a simple weight change, but for me, it's the feeling of REALLY being included in the story.

These lines from a bunch of fics I've read-"His shirt fit loosely on you", and "he wrapped his arms around your thin waist", "your small frame" or "He picked you up with ease", etc-don't fit me and I know I'm not the only one.

If a fic usually doesn't clarify that it has a chubby reader, then it's USUALLY a skinny or medium-sized person. I just wanna give me and my chubby fellas a chance, y'know? ┐(シ)┌

And please don't take this the wrong way & please don't think I'm attacking you if you write like this I swear I'm not! Everyone's allowed to write for whatever fandom they want and with whatever body type they wanna write for! I'm just stating that this blog is focused on specifically chubby/plus sized readers.

I write Platonic Readers! For example, if someone requests being just best friends with a certain character, or having a sibling dynamic with another character, then it's all good! 👌🏽

I also write for Yandere characters/situations! If the situation asked for IS uncomfortable to write, I have the right to deny it.

I also do genderbend! I don't see it done much, which is cool! But I'm a dumb little hoe so- ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Final thing! I also write for monsters! I write for skeletons and demon monkeys 😑 Basic stuff, like werewolves, vampires, mermaids/merman, hybrids, etc!

I'll write for certain characters for certain medias since it's the only thing I feel I can actually write without making the characters OOC. (´･ω･`)

Fresh is parasitic monster that lacks emotions and jumps from different hosts so writing him romantically might be a bit of a problem.

Evil Nightmare searches for negative energy, as it's said that positive emotions make him weak. (╯︵╰)

I try my best to stay on track with how characters would canonically react, along with a dash of what I think they would do. But if there's enough asks, then I'll try my best to write them! ଘ(੭ ᐛ )♡

The fever of designing merfolks doesn't seems to stop with me lately oops, there's gonna be another set soon enough.... So for this page we have: - Geno, who's an octopus because I wanted to keep the siblings the same species. I figured out  that he can't produce any color as his pigments are defective, making him rather weak and dependent as he lack any camouflage skills. - Error, same story with him, but his issues is then complete opposite, his pigments are too active and 'glitch' making it easy to spot and prone to either scare or get bullied by other merfolks/fish. - And for last, we got Chill, I couldn’t help myself to make a fitting design to go with Crane. Since Chill is immune to Crane's power, I figured out he would either be a turtle or a jellyfish as well, the second option really was too tempting~<3

“He’s going to die,” Sidney says, to himself. “He needs to get back in the water.”

The merman appears unconscious, his chest rising heavily as if struggling for air. He’s partially hidden behind the other cargo in a half-full, glass container. It’s a mess on the HMS Sultan’s deck amidst the gunfire, smoke, and running feet, but the merman’s eyes stay closed throughout.

“Get us closer,” Sidney shouts, running across the length of The Penguin and searching for a rope. “I’m going onboard.”

“Are you crazy?” Flower screams at him. “We can outrun them, she’s already got a ton of holes in her–”

“I’m going! Phil, Dumo! I need backup!” 

“Why the fuck–what are you trying to do?”

“They’ve got a merman,” Sidney says, then screams again at the helm, “Flower, now!”

“They’ve got a what?”

They called his name, several times, but Sidney doesn’t look back as he swings over and tumbles aboard. He makes a beeline towards the makeshift aquarium, finding it nailed shut. He taps hard on the glass, once, twice, and the merman’s eyes fly open. He looks up at Sidney, terrified, but when he realizes Sidney’s trying to budge the cover open, he starts writhing and banging on the pane from within. 

“Fuck. Fuck.” The lid isn’t giving. “God, fucking–”

His heart nearly jumps out of his throat when Flower shows up behind him, yelling, “There’s no time, we’ll lift the container.”

“And carry it back?” There’s no way, they’re all going to get hit by a stray bullet, but he’s already pulling the aquarium up.

Flower looks at him like he’s lost his mind. “No, we’re going to toss it.”

“Toss where?”

Before Sidney can finish his thought, Flower’s already tipping the container forward. The wood frame splits, and glass cracks into a thousand pieces as the merman rolls out onto the floor, limp. 

Sidney lets out a burst of short, victorious laugh. “He could’ve gotten hurt!”

“That’s what you’re worried about? Let’s get-Sid, Sidney–Captain–”

Sidney’s already scooping the merman into his arms and, fuck, he’s heavier than expected, all lean muscle and sturdy weight in his tail. “Hold his tail!”

“Where are we going?”

“Throwing him back into the water!” 

The merman’s eyes widen, as if he understands. He stops struggling and lets the two of them scurry him back over the ledge, ducking his face in the crook of Sidney’s neck as pieces of wood spray through the air and the booming of the cannons continue to roar.

“What are you waiting for?” Flower gestures wildly at the water. “Throw him! And then we can fucking get back–”

The merman blinks, at the water, then at Sidney. He raises a hand to cup Sidney’s face, and Sidney’s entire body seizes up as if by an invisible force.

“I–” He can’t move. Why can’t he move? He’s–

“Sid, come on! We don’t have much time–”

“Sid,” the merman utters, his voice a deep, smooth warble, almost like a song. Sidney’s close enough to see a faint scar on his left cheek. “Sid.”

Then all Sidney can taste is seawater as the merman pulls him in, kissing him sweetly.

And in that split moment as Sidney’s arms go slack, he flicks his tail in one powerful motion and flings himself overboard, disappearing as quickly as anything.

(They make it back to the ship in one piece, somehow. By nightfall, The Penguin is floating on smooth waters, as if the encounter with the HMS Sultan had never happened.

But Sidney’s heart is still pounding, and he doesn’t think it’s because he’d narrowly escaped death, just hours earlier.)
