I reread a chapter from this fic today. Read this because this wonder is a masterpiece, well written as hell, 5 huge chapters and a sublime development.
Seems like the sea witch was right after all. True love is not real, Whiskey and Bubblegum for all!
I painted Mira (The Little Mermaid) from Neverafter as the Temperance Tarot Card!
The circular themes and motifs in ep 19 of NeverAfter were amazing
I touched on it another post but for example gerard, elody, and rapunzel. Gerard tried to warn elody about rapunzel and her hair. Rapunzel went to Gerard's trial and made the sword reveal that Elody only cared for him/didn't love him. With that information gerard and elody reconciled to become friends like they once were. Rapunzel tried to kill Gerard for this and then he ate her like the heron.
Then you have Snow and Rosamund. Rosamund and Snow bonded over waking up from sleep in horrible situations (a glass coffin or briars). Snow then trusted rosamund enough to tell her the truth and then rosamund told everyone else. The snow insta killed rosamund, giving her back over to the briars. And rosamund essentially became a living dead thing like snow and insta killed her back, giving snow back to the glass coffin.
In a happier parallel, you had ylfa offer to shuttle Mira around on her back which she declined in favor of the palanquin. And then in this episode, ylfa showed again that she wasnt about to let Mira suffer unnecessarily and shuttled her around as a black bear. Allowing Mira to get up in snow's space.
Something something the dice are sentient and are the ones leading this story.
You may remember this lovely mermaid from a piece I did for Mermay. I figured I ought to share her full ref because she's absolutely gorgeous. I love mermaids who you can just tell can and will drown you.

Draco was resting against the wall of his tank, his webbed hands stretched out in front of him, while his face was smushed against the wooden planks that jutted out into the water, giving him a few meters to splash, without completely soaking his carpet. He was tapping his fingers against the wood, humming to himself gently. As soon as he saw Harry, he perked up, his eyes lighting with excitement. "Harry!"
Harry couldn't help but smile, Draco was always so happy to see him. "Hello. How are you this morning?"
Draco righted himself, his long, shimmering tail flipping back and forth, as he fidgeted. "Good." He dove beneath the surface, racing towards the sandy bottom, only to return a moment later with an ornage, rubber crab. "Fetch?"
Harry took the toy from him and tossed it as far as he could, hearing it plop into the distant waves and sink towards the coral below. Draco let out a joyous squeal and leapt out of the water, flipping over backwards, as he chased after it.
When Draco returned with the crab, he took it and set it down beside him. Draco began to pout, his lower lip wobbling and sticking out. "Fetch?"
"In a minute. I wanted to give you something."
Draco perked up, his eyes widening, as his disappointment about the crab was forgotten. "What is it? Show me. Show me." He clapped his hands together, unable to hold himself still.
Harry pulled his wand out, summoning the gift he'd made for Draco from the other room. It was a hand-made flower crown, crafted from pink and red rose buds. "Here."
"What...?" Draco took it in his hands, poking at the petals with awe. "What is it?"
"It's a flower crown. Do you know what day it is?"
Draco shook his head, sniffing at the flowers, before he attempted to place them in his mouth.
"No, don't... Don't eat it."
"Sorry." Draco looked down, his pout returning. "No eat."
"It's Valentine's day." He continued, hoping that Draco's frown would disappear again. "Do you know what that is?"
His eyebrows furrowed, giving him a puzzled expression. "No."
"Well, it's a holiday." He tried to think of the best way to describe what it was. "It's... Well, it's about celebrating the ones you love. You can give gifts, like flowers or chocolate."
Draco tapped the flower crown again, before he placed it on his arm like an oversized bracelete. Harry realized Draco probably had no idea what a crown was either.
He reached out to take the ring of flowers, wanting to help Draco put it on properly.
"No." Draco held his hands away, tucking the flower crown against his chest. "My flowers."
"I'm not going to take them. I just..." He supposed it didn't matter if Draco wanted to wear it on his arm. "I wanted to put a spell on it, so the water wouldn't break it apart. Is that okay?"
With a skeptical expression on his face, Draco nodded and passed the flower crown back to him. He placed a Strengthening and Resiliancy Charm over the flowers, before he set it on top of Draco's head. "There you go."
Draco's nose wrinkled, as he looked upwards trying to see it. After a few seconds of struggling, he removed the crown from his head and placed it back on his arm, looking rather happy with his gift. "Thank you. Nice Valentine's day."
Harry smiled. "Yes, nice Valentine's day."
