I am ready to scream into the void of eternity. 

I came out as a lesbian as a young teenager. I’ve lived with the realized knowledge of who I am for sixteen years. I looked forward to dating girls and then women, once I was an adult. Middle school sucked, so I did nothing. High school had no one interested in me. I had an LDR with a girl in Australia, but that ended in a sad story for me. 

I dropped out of high school in the end and stress put my romantic life on hold. Life got insane. I had to move to live with my other parent, thought, “Maybe now?” and then got slapped in the face with the reality of living in a small town, once again. Had to move in with my grandmother, at twenty years old, and resigned myself to keeping my head down and never once saying anything about my sexuality. Another small town, an old woman who wouldn’t have harmed me but would have told me I was mistaken. Or confused. My other grandmother who refused to hear me saying I was a lesbian and insisting I would end up married to a man, to the point she wanted me to flirt with our (obviously married) waiter when I went out to dinner with her one time.

So I put the romance ideas away again. Didn’t have time, was too stressed, everything was a nightmare. 

Finally moved out, living with some friends, and this is the world I come back to. Demands to submit to men, to have sex with them or be branded a bigot. A transphobe. I need to accept a penis in my sex life or I’m a monster.

This is the world I tuned back into the dating sphere to find. 

Their homophobia is a nightmare and I’m so tired of it. I almost wish I wasn’t out because then they would leave me alone. Maybe. 

Or maybe they’d just find another way to harass me. 

I’m here, now, looking for people to communicate with who feel the same way. I just want some form of community while they try to rip it all apart. Men are terrifying and I don’t want them anywhere near me.
