Souma is the most honest person you know, but he can be a little naïve, so it's likely that he doesn't notice immediately that you're feeling down.

Once he notices, though, he goes to you and immediately asks you what's wrong and whether or not someone hurt you or your feelings.

Asks if you're feeling down because of something he did, and offers to apologize to you by commiting seppuku, which you immediately shut down regardless of the reason why you feel bad.

Souma will prepare your favorite food and let you eat it all while earnestly and attentively listening to whatever it is that is troubling you.

He believes he's not the exact best at giving advice, but if you want his input on your situation, he will tell you his honest opinion and what he would do if he were in your shoes.

If, on the contrary, what you need is just silent comfort, he can provide that too!

Souma goes home with you, and lays down next to you on your bed.

Starts by just holding your hands, telling you how much he appreciates you and loves you.

Rei is a lot like Chiaki in this case, he wants to do everything in his power to keep your mind off of the fact that you can't leave home!

Although during the day it is a little harder for him to actually do a lot of things, the good part of the lockdown is that he doesn't have to be under the sun a lot and that gives him a lot of more energy than usual!

He will pace around the house with you if that helps you feel better, maybe even playing some ambiental sounds on his phone and talking to you like you're out somewhere cool no matter how far that is.

If you find that amusing, he will do it more often!

He's going to insist you guys make your own food a lot of the time to stay active in more ways! But won't say no to ordering stuff from time to time.

Ritsu struggled with something.

And that something was his feelings for you.

He pried one of his eyes open as he, or rather, his friend, got closer to the school. There, he saw you. Ever so punctual, wearing the same uniform as him, holding your student ID for the security guards to let you inside. He follows your silhouette through the crowd of students until you're out of sight, long gone into the buildings of the regular studies department's campus. Far, far away from the area designed for the idol course (and temporarily production course) department

He frowns after he's taken to his classroom and rests his head against his desk, unmotivated to do... anything at all.

It had been like this ever since he noticed he had fallen for you.

He would watch you go into your building, never really caring for whatever the hell was going on with the idol department's affairs, which was something strangely common for the students of the regular studies department; you all would always hear all the gossips and rumors before anyone else outside of the school but couldn't be surprised at all by anything anymore.

"All departments of this school are filled with weird people, after all." It's what you once said. "Even us, old boring regular students, have our own, big share of eccentricities and drama, you know? You just never get to hear our stories unless you're there to live them!"

Sometimes, Ritsu wished he could be there.

While there was nothing enticing about being a boring, as you put it, regular student, there was something he felt he was lacking during his daily routine.

That something being someone, and that someone being you.

His friends, unit mates and the producer were nice company, and he, of course, had fun with them. But... they weren't you.

They weren't you, who he was in love with.

How long has it been?

Ever since he first entered this school, in the same year as you, he has been in love with you. Even though you went to different departments, he had fallen for you from the little interactions you shared.

Eventually, he thought, these feelings will disappear.

But they didn't.

Instead, they kept growing the more he started to go out of his way to look for you, even if your time together was often cut short due to his schedule becoming busier and busier each time.

"I get it, you all are pretty popular these days. Can't go anywhere and not see your faces almost everywhere..." You'd say to him each time. "I have to study for my college entrance exams anyway... See you around." And then you'd walk away, as always.

And it's okay, he thought, you two could still meet up some other time.

She continued: "And think of your current position in the industry before risking throwing it all away."

While that bothered him, he knew she was right.

Making a move on you was risky for the both of you.

...But then again, it wasn't like he was making a lot of progress in that aspect.

Still, he should've accepted it from the start. He should've already known from the start, and he still choose to cling to this very small, tiny piece of hope that he could grasp you and have you for himself as his lover.

So you both had very different life styles, very different paths you choose to walk through; you walked as parallel lines, living in two worlds that were too different from each other, it was as if you were always out of his reach, too far high for him to touch.

While he and his unit partners step into the stage for their final encore song, he's surrounded by blinding lights and the deafening sound of cheering coming from the audience. Truly in the center of attention, being praised and loved by so many people, and yet he feels alone.

And when he spots someone who looked like you holding an uchiwa fan to cover their face at the very front row of the stage he feels as if his heart would go out of his chest to chase after that image, after that silhouette that resembled yours. But it wasn't you.

You were somewhere else, maybe with someone else.

Ritsu longs for your company and affections, he really does. But you're too far away from his reach. He can't get a grasp on you, on how or what are you doing when his schedule gets more and more and more packed with new jobs and more industry nonsense everyone seems to dramatize too much for some reason he cannot comprehend---

But then he spots you in the crowd from the window of the van they were riding to get to their next job together.

When he sees you hold hands with someone whose face he doesn't recognize, whose name he doesn't know, whose life he doesn't understand, he realizes.

How lovely it is, falling in love.

How lonely it is, falling in love.

He can never have a normal life like yours.

He can never step away from the spotlight you seem to hate having on yourself to give you all of his love and attention.

He can never be with you.

And it all just gets lonelier. The more he repeats to himself he can't have you, the deeper he falls in love with you. And all those moments just get much much lonelier the longer he's in love.

But then it happened at a coffee shop during winter, six years later.

His mouth is agape and his eyes widened the moment the person in front of him steps away to let him have his turn in the counter.

"...Ritsu? Ritsu Sakuma from Yumenosaki's Idol department?" Your voice asked him from behind the counter, polite, client-service smile long gone to let a genuine, big smile form on your face. "It's been a really long time! Do you remember me? I'm that one kid from the regular department you sometimes talked with!"

"...Of course I remember you. Y/N." Your name rolled from his lips naturally, as if it was always meant for him to say out loud. "I couldn't forget you even if I tried."

You giggle at his words, your cheeks flushing slightly.

"So, which one did you want?" He told you his order, and while you started preparing it, he took some courage and spoke up:

"When do you get out of work today?"

You stop to look back at him, before turning towards the board where your and your co-worker's schedule was at and then back to him again.

"Today at nine p.m., and you?" You handed him his order. "It'll be two hundred yen."

"I'm free for this whole week." He said while handing you the money.

"Wow, that's nice." He dreaded the conversation would end there, abruptly, then, you continued talking. "I still have to work until the night and go home but, are you up for catching up tomorrow?"

He could feel his heart beating aggressively against his chest, as he immediately answered:

"Yes."

You giggle at his speed to answer.

"Alright, alright. Your LINE ID is still the same, right?" He nodded.

"Did yours change after graduation?"

"Nope, still the same after all these years!"

He smiles at you, feeling his cheeks heating up.

"Then I'll be texting you to plan our date for tomorrow." You don't complain about how he used the word 'date'. Instead, you nod.

"It's a deal, then." You give him a kind, gentle smile that brings him back to when he was still a highschooler. "Thank you for your patronage, dear customer."

As he walks away from the cafeteria, hot beverage in hand while his shoes crushed the snow underneath them, he smiles to himself.

Perhaps he could still have some hope.

The door of the studio was locked with key.

There were no cameras inside.

There was no one else in that room except for the two of you.

It was safe.

"Tsukasa--" He caressed your hair, before softly cupping your cheek with a hand and intertwining your fingers with his own with the other, his eyes looking down to your lips.

"It's okay just this once, isn't it? It's just the two of us here." A blush spread on his face, as he looked up to your eyes again. "Unless you don't want to, that is."

But how could you not?

Having to act coldly professional to each other the whole time you were working together, which was almost all the time, was too hard for you.

You missed him. And you knew he missed you too.

So you nodded, saying that yes, you did want this as much as he did.

And so he leaned in, his lips pressing against yours with need and gentleness- oh, so much gentleness. Every time you kissed, though it wasn't often, he made you feel like you were in heaven. Soft, careful, passionate and kind; that was how his kisses were, and they would always leave you wanting more even though you knew you couldn't have more.

Not yet.

He pulled away, his face still dangerously close to yours, his gentle gaze looking at you in the eyes.

"...You're like a continuous, honey-like damage to me." He whispered to your lips before closing the distance again, and again, before speaking between kisses: "So sweet, and so bad... It's painful to see you every day and not being able to do anything."

You gave his hand a soft squeeze as he pulled away again.

"But I know it must be very painful and hard for you as well, isn't it?" His hand left your cheek, as he instead held both of your hands with gentleness and care. "Just wait for me, three years. By then, we won't need to hide anything anymore. I promise I will never look at anyone else the same way I look at you, so please wait for me."

His eyes never once left your own, nor did his voice waver as he spoke.

"...Please."

If it was for him, you could wait forever.

Life is hard.

You know it and want to cry about it.

While you hold your head with your hands, tugging at your hair, you stare and shake your hand at the pile of homework and documents scattered on your table.

Why did everything have to be so hard?

You frown, feeling how your eyes are filling with tears and your throat dries.

Once you let your head drop and start sobbing, you hear a kind voice calling out your name.

Ashamed as you are, you can't bring yourself to lift your head and just bite down your lip, hoping to keep your whimpers quiet.

A gentle hand takes one of your own, pulling it away from your head, while another cups your face and makes you look up. There, you see her worried face looking at you, before her eyes briefly went over the workload all over the table.

"Is everything okay, sweetheart?" She asked you in a whisper, you looked down and bit your lip harder.

Arashi gave you a smile, using her thumbs to dry your tears with her gentle touch.

"There's no need for tears, you know? You're not alone."

You let out a whimper at her words and, ironically, start crying more. And rather than getting angry at your reaction, Arashi held you gently in her arms, kissing the top of your head.

"It's okay, lovely. We'll finish these together, okay? Don't ever hesitate to ask for help when you need it.

I'll always be here for you."
