And he is back
Tumblr media
Wandanat x Bioquake x Bobbi x reader (soulmate au)
TW: suicide
Plot: In a nightmare, you see Hive whose persuades Diasy killing herself and now he is in your mind, again.
You see him, behind her back, the great and powerful Hive. The shadow of a sadistic smile painting his monstrous face as he whispers in her ear. He did it to you too, and now he's doing it to her. You scream at her to stop but it's no use, she can't hear you, no matter how hard your vocal cords vibrate, begging her to stop, not to listen to him. Daisy, the inhuman who stole your heart, stands in front of him, her back to him as she puts a gun to her temple, her finger firmly on the trigger.
You scream, tears streaking your cheeks as you try to get closer but some kind of barrier prevents you. You slam your hands on that invisible wall; once, twice, three times but nothing you do seems to get his attention.
"Daisy, please," your voice is hoarse and trembling and the Inhuman looks at you but her eyes are glassy, the effect of Hive's drug clouds her mind and your heart aches, you know what she is feeling and you know the effect her control has on Inhumans like you.
"Daisy, look at me, don't do it, love. There's me, there's Jemma, Wanda, Natasha, Bobbi, May, Coulson, Fitz, Mack...please Dee, don't do this."
You plead with her, falling to your knees as your tears fall so profusely that they pool in a small stain at your feet. Your heart clenches as you watch her grip the gun tighter.
Hive walks over to the hacker and girds her hips, bringing his mouth closer to Daisy's neck.
"They'll be better off without you; think about Lincoln, Trip..."
He whispers it as glibly as if he were speaking words of love as he looks at you with dark, malevolent eyes that pierce your soul. He looks at you as if he were addressing those words to you as well.
Daisy looks at you one last time before unlocking the gun's safety.
"You'll be better without me."
You scream and your heart stops when a shot rings out in the dark gray cell where you stand. You fall to the ground and watch the blood gush from her lifeless body. You watch his face quickly turn to ash gray.
"Do not despair, you will soon meet his end, inhuman."
Hive approaches you and, finally, the barrier that separated you from Daisy shatters. You start to run toward her but Hive grabs you by the arm, forcing you to turn toward him.
"Your time has come."
"No!"
You scream and as he makes you dependent again, your concern goes to Daisy's body lying on the cold concrete floor and the only desire that pervades you, before Hive takes over, is to hold her in your arms and hear her laugh once more.
………..………………………..………………
You wake up drenched in sweat and with your heart beating wildly. Your chest aches and it takes you a few seconds to realize that what you experienced was nothing but a terrible nightmare.
Chills run down your spine as you sit up; your pajama shirt is so wet that the cold air outside the covers makes you shiver at the mere touch.
You search frantically for Daisy with your eyes, and when you see her chest slowly rising and falling and her light snoring, you breathe a sigh of relief and your heart finally begins to calm a little. You bring your knees to your chest, looking at Daisy and not taking your eyes off your girlfriend. You struggle to extricate yourself from Bobbi's grip and step over Jemma to get out of bed. You need to get some air and you don't want to sleep, not anymore. You don't want to see her face again and, most of all, you definitely want to get the image of Daisy out of your head and- and.
You shake your head, gritting your teeth and trying to breathe deep to get the image of the gun pointed at her temple out of your head.
You look at the nightstand where Bobbi always rests her gun, despite your protests, Jemma's protests, and Wanda's protests. Natasha, on the other hand, along with Daisy, fully supported her. You don't think twice before taking it in your hand, squeezing it with more force than you should. If Hive is back, if he has entered your head again...No, he is dead, Lincoln sacrificed himself to make him dead. His sacrifice could not have been in vain, not-
You can't freak out, not here, not with them sleeping so you touch your bracelet, activating it, before teleporting to the gym. You sit on one of the mats May uses to meditate, turning the gun over in your hands, savoring its weight and the coldness of the metal. You sob, thinking back to the nightmare and what Hive put you through, put you through. You remember vividly the dazzling withdrawal his lack of touch caused you; the physical pain he caused you, not to mention the mental pain. If he came back--you look down the barrel of the gun and turn it toward you,toward your face. If he came back, your last moment of lucidity will lead to your death, is a promise.
"What the hell are you doing?"
May's voice makes you wince and you drop the gun to the ground. May quickly approaches you, kicking the gun away and trying to meet your gaze.
"What the hell were you doing with a gun pointed at you?"
May repeats, punctuating each word harshly as she watches your every movement.
"I-it's not what it looks like May."
You whisper; you don't make eye contact with her, yet you feel her gaze burn into your back.
" Y/n, I really don't think it can look like anything else right now."
Flashbacks of your nightmare return to cloud your mind. You don't even realize that you tried to reach for your gun again and were stopped by May.
"Y/n, y/n! This is not real, what you are experiencing is not real. Listen to me, follow my voice, let's go."
May is frightened, you don't seem to be listening to her, and the Caveman is particularly startled by the blank look on your face.
"Agent!"
May shouts, shaking you by the shoulders, and Hive's face in front of you turns into the face of your SO.
"M-May?" you whisper, your voice shaky and broken as you cling to her as if she were your only lifeline.
"It's all right, it's all right. It was all in your mind."
It takes you a few minutes to realize that you are clinging to your SO; although you see May as a mother -- well, she must not know that. You pull away from her and swing from one foot to the other, looking out of the corner of your eye at the gun a couple of feet away from you.
May follows your gaze and quickly reaches for the gun, taking it in her hands and slipping it into the empty holster on her right thigh.
"Are your girls awake?"
You open your eyes wide, shaking your head firmly.
"No, no May, you don't have to tell them anything. Please May."
The officer sighs, crossing his arms and looking at you with a raised right eyebrow.
"Y/n, you're clearly having problems and you need to talk to someone about it, okay? They are your partners, if-"
"It's Hive!" May stops and you sigh, before continuing; your back hunches, as if you are bearing the weight of the world on your shoulders, "It's Hive, May. He's back, he's entered my head again, he's brought Daisy to-a-"
Tears line your cheeks, you no longer know what is real and what is not.
May looks at you confused and shakes her head as she tries to move closer to you, unsuccessfully as you pull away from her touch.
"No y/n, Hive is dead, Lincoln sacrificed himself to make this happen...Daisy is fine and he is not in your head. Not anymore."
You chase away the tears, wiping them away with your pajama sleeve but they continue to fall copiously; again and again as your body shudders with each sob you emit.
"Rockstar?"
Bobbi's voice makes you hold back a sob. You turn to her, noticing that she is not the only one who has noticed your absence in the bed. After all, your soulmates feel, at least in part, the feelings you have; especially if those feelings are as strong as the ones you are feeling right now.
"We didn't find you and we got scared," Jemma whispers, moving a few steps closer to you.
"And Bobbi's gun was not in its usual place."
The Inhuman approaches you and, before you can pull away, draws you into a hug.
"You dreamed Hive, didn't you?"
You stiffen under her touch as soon as that name slips from her lips. It feels wrong, poisonous, you want to suck it away once and for all. From yours and his mind, knowing the pain he has caused you both.
You nod, slowly. You lean into her touch, tired of bearing all that suffering alone, like so many times before. Daisy caresses your face, brushing a rebel lock from your forehead, before leaving a tender kiss on it.
"He's dead love, he's dead. He will never come back; I will not let him hurt you again, do you understand? Never."
Jemma, Bobbi and May watch the intimate moment between you and Daisy. Although Jemma and Bobbi are dying to hold you in their arms, they understand that in this moment Daisy is the only one who can truly understand your pain.
May approaches the two biochemists, handing them the gun she had previously hidden in her holster.
"I believe this is yours, Bobbi. I would advise you to put it in a safer place, you never know what might trigger an attack, you know."
Bobbi nods, quickly taking the gun and putting it in the back of her pants only after setting the safety. Jemma looks at the gun, looks at you, and then turns her attention to the older officer.
"What did he do? Why doesn't the gun have the safety on anymore, May?"
May sighs, shoots you a look and then drags Bobbi and Jemma away from you and Daisy.
"She...had the gun in her hand and was pointing it at herself."
Jemma gasps, as does the blonde. The weight of the gun, now, is a hundred times heavier and almost seems to drag her down.
"No May, you're wrong, she wouldn't, not-" The biochemist shakes her head, clinging to Bobbi's arm and looking at the blonde for confirmation, a hint of reassurance that, however, does not come.
The blonde agent looks away, thinking about how much Hive's addiction upset you, just a few months earlier, and how you became a different person under his control.
"Bobbi? She can't, right? She can't have done that, not-"
"Jem, remember what Hive did to her, how her powers rebelled against her own control...And now think if she thought she was at his mercy again, unable to do anything. I don't doubt that she could have, though it hurts to admit it."
You only seem to break out of the little bubble you and Daisy have created when Jemma emits her first sob.
Daisy's head snaps toward the biochemist; her gaze is a mixture of concern and confusion as she searches for an explanation for the fact that one of her soulmates is in tears. Bobbi shakes her head, mimicking a "we'll talk about it later" with her lips before leaning close to Jemma's right ear and whispering something that neither you nor Daisy can hear but that makes her stand up and leave the gym.
"Bobbi, what-?" you ask, confusion painting your face as you force yourself away from Daisy and toward the blonde.
"It's okay rockstar, she's just worried about you, we all are really. What do you say we join her in bed? It's four in the morning and I think we all need a good night's sleep."
You're not convinced by his answer, but he's right about one thing-you do need sleep, and even though you're afraid Hive will come back to haunt your dreams, you fear you have to do it anyway. Or at least, you have to pretend you do otherwise your girls will never leave you alone. So you nod, nod a small smile at them, say goodbye to May and leave the gym, joining Jemma. Daisy, Bobbi and May stand there and watch you leave, avoiding talking until your silhouette disappears from their sight.
...............................................................
You are holding Jemma in your arms when you see Bobbi and Daisy enter your room. From their looks, you can tell that May has told them everything.
Bobbi stares at you for a few seconds before setting the gun down on the same nightstand from which you borrowed it not an hour earlier. You stiffen a little at the thought of the talk the girls are about to give you and shudder at the mere thought of having to tell Daisy about your nightmare. The girl you're holding in your arms notices; in fact, she lifts her head and looks you in the eye as she lovingly strokes your back two, three, four times before the other two girls also join you on the bed. Bobbi sits cross-legged on the bed, inches from you and Jemma; Daisy, on the other hand, sits beside you, taking your right hand between her own.
"Honey, what did you dream? Did you dream Hive?"
You nod, stroking her hand and playing with the ring on her index finger. You focus on the warmth emanating from her body, on her face, on the face no longer as pale and lifeless as that has invaded your mind in the past few hours.
"L-he...he killed you, Dais. Or, I, he had you under his control again and convinced you to-"
Although you are trying to hold them back, tears line your cheeks ignoring your concern, "I saw you put the gun to your temple and pull the trigger."
The three girls remain silent and you turn away from them.
"And I couldn't do anything, I couldn't teleport, you couldn't hear me and- and finally, he made me go to you and I held you in my arms but it was too late."
Sobs shake your body as you approach the bedside table. Bobbi follows you, not for a moment leaving you uncontrolled.
"Y/n..." the blonde whispers, starting to move, slowly, toward you.
"I can't let him control me again, I can't, he's still inside my head, I-I love you, I really do, but I won't survive if he controls me again."
Your thoughts race frantically, so much so that your hands shake and you suddenly find yourself on the opposite side of the room. You fall to the floor with a thud, watching your girls, previously inches from you, more than a couple of feet away.
"Fuck it, fuck it, it's messing with my head, I can’t even control my powers anymore!"
Tears roll down your cheeks; you jump to your feet and shake your head furiously, over and over again. The last time you weren't in full control of your powers, it was under the influence of Hive. You no longer have doubts. You're not thinking clearly, otherwise you wouldn't do what you're about to do. You sprint towards the nightstand and, despite Bobbi trying to get there before you, you manage to grab the gun and remove the safety.
“What-no, stop!”
Daisy is moving towards you, Jemma is petrified and Bobbi is analyzing the situation trying not to panic.
"I'm sorry, I love you"
You pull the trigger and wait for the gunshot and the pain but none of that happens. The screams of your girls are the only thing you can hear.
"What the hell did you want to do"
Natasha stands in the doorframe, her voice shaking at the sight of the gun pointed at your temple. Wanda, however, is right behind her; her face is pale and her eyes are red as she uses her magic to keep your index finger from pulling the trigger. You look at your hand, see it covered in Wanda's red magic and your heart stops for a while when you realize that you haven't completed your task yet. Bobbi lunges at you, tackling you to the ground and throwing the gun away, but not before stuffing the magazine into the back pocket of her jeans. You collapse against the floor, surrendering under the blonde's grip with the hope that what is happening is nothing more than a nightmare. You could use your powers to free yourself from her grasp but you don't want to hurt her in any way. And suddenly, despite months of therapy, you fall back into the depressive state that Hive brought you to during his time on earth. You remain helpless in Bobbi's arms; your gaze is glassy as Bobbi talks to you, shaking your shoulders when you don't answer her. Your body moves back and forth, with the same ease of an unconscious body but you, on the other hand, have your eyes open, wide open, even if the emotionless and apathetic look in your eyes worries your girls greatly and Wanda does this that you think is best for you. She kneels next to you, caresses your temples and puts you to sleep with her magic.
“What the hell is going on?” Natasha whispers, breaking the silence as all the girls look at your unconscious form in Bobbi's arms.
“I… I think she has some Hive residue in her mind,” Jemma says, knowing she's just released a bombshell. They have to help you, whatever is happening to you, they will help you.
Thanks for reading! I don’t even know what is this but hey, at least it’s something :)- Have a great day and, if you want, you can support me on ko-fi. ☕️

Mommy… Master List
Requests & Prompt-List
Warnings: NSFW, 18+!!!, sensory deprivation kink, blindfold kink, smut, fingering, kissing, nipple play, implied future smut, etc.
Enjoy (;
“Do you trust me?” She asked, holding something behind her back with one hand as she approached you on the edge of the bed.
You bit your lip in anticipation and nodded.
“Good” Melinda hummed, showing you the blindfold, before quickly tying it on your head.
Then it all went black.
Your breath became bated as you felt your senses adjust to the loss in sight. Suddenly you couldn’t feel the weight of the woman anymore. She could be anywhere…
You gasped as you felt a cool hand cup you cheek, and then a pair of warm lips meet yours. You lightly moaned into the kiss, taking all that the brunette would give you. Her hot mouth worked yours with skill, her tongue slipping into your mouth with ease. Her kiss was delicate yet direct. It left you wanting more more more, as the woman eventually pulled back completely. You whined in response.
“Patience.” Melinda hummed in reminder.
You gulped and nodded. You then felt her cold fingers once more, along your shirt line, lightly tugging on it. You quickly got the message and helped her remove your shirt. Your bra, and the rest of your clothing, down to your panties went next. Once you were completely naked, you lost her touch once more. Your lip pouted lightly but you didn’t whine.
“Go to the center of the bed.” Melinda said, chuckling at how responsive you were for her.
You scurried to the middle of the bed, awaiting the woman. A couple of minutes of silence past and you sat still in anticipation, your breath bated.
Suddenly you felt the bed dip at the end. You gasped lightly as you felt the weight come closer to you. You nearly yelped when you felt her chilly hands on your ankles, spreading your legs. Melinda came all the way up, until she was on top of you.
Your mouth was agape from the sensations. The touch was all too much yet not enough at the same time. Then you felt her fingers trail down to your core. You eagerly bucked your hips in the direction of her hand, making Melinda chuckle once more.
And then you felt her digits enter you and you damn near keeled over in pleasure. Soon along with her fingers curling inside you, you felt her hot mouth attach to one of your perked nipples.
All this did you in within minutes…
You were putty in the woman’s hands…

Every so often I remember that Coulson, Mack and Daisy weren’t alive in the timeline where the world was destroyed, and that the rest of the team had to go through losing them.
Above all, I keep imagining May mourning both Coulson and Daisy (with May seeing Daisy in Robin every time she looks at her) and that truly is hitting me the hardest. I am not okay at all. Good night.

scars we cover up with paint
(or: Daisy just needs her mom May)
(Agents of SHIELD, post-canon, MayDaisy mother daughter bonding time)
.
.
The first warning sign she should have picked up on was the clenching, gnawing feeling in the pit of her stomach.
Melinda May had been out of field duty for so long, she just attributed it to indigestion.
There was a time, years ago, when every warning bell in her body would have picked up on that noticeable gut feeling. That feeling meant action. Danger. Act fast, or else. She had once been able to quickly sort through the causes of it, just by scanning her eyes around the room or noticing discrepancies in her surroundings that her subconscious had picked up on before she could register them.
She would have been checking in on her team when that happened, going through names on her phone and knocking on doors, one by one, until everyone was alive and accounted for. And then she would find out what her intuition was telling her.
That was her past life. That was always being on the move, never predicting the next tragedy, never being able to keep her family safe.
That was then.
This is now.
There was no reason for it. Unless one of her Academy students was secretly harboring evil intentions, the feelings were simply natural and meant nothing.
But now, even with a stomach full from lunch and a good book in hand, the discomfort persisted.
I’m going crazy .
The warning bells continued. She shifted in the chair, hoping it really was just a rare bout of indigestion. Even stood up, stretched her arms up toward the ceiling, then down, folding herself in half until her arms hugged her knees. Stretched from side to side, twisted her torso.
It didn’t help.
Which meant it was probably time to panic.
.
.
.
.
The message came before she could pick up her phone to call Mack.
It really wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. Simply an update from Agent Payne, assistant head of the space exploration program, explaining as requested that the Zephyr Three just touched down and that the agents were currently being examined at the SHIELD medical facility in Charleston, South Carolina.
Melinda remembered, with a pang, that this was officially the end of the small team’s last mission. After five years flying missions for the space division and at least that many trips around the galaxy, the Zephyr Three and her crew were finally Earth-bound, permanently.
“I’m ready to leave space travel to the younger kids,” Sousa had joked last year at their annual Framework meetup. “I’m like a hundred and ten – You guys think I deserve to retire yet?”
May had seen the emotion-filled look Daisy sent her husband, probably thinking she was being subtle but failing valiantly as usual.
If anyone deserved a nice life of low-stakes office work and training recruits, it was those two. Daniel and Daisy.
She returned her attention to the phone screen and Payne’s message. Glanced over it one more time.
In getting lost in her memories, she had missed the end of it.
Zephyr 3 just landed, the message read. The crew’s headed to the SCMSC for their workups. All healthy at first glance, just tired and ready to be on solid ground again. Don’t want to worry you.. but your girl is anxious to see you. Might be trip related, maybe not. But she asked for you a few times. Let me know if you want a ride down here.
May paused.
Your girl.
She knew Payne was referring to Daisy. It was widely known in SHIELD that the small team had a special, unique, altogether unbreakable bond that rivaled that of even the tightest-knit family. It was forged in the years of insane trials they’d gone through – Events that would have destroyed any weaker souls. They’d lost the people closest to them. Almost lost themselves hundreds of times over. No one could go through all that and not come out changed.
Coulson had sometimes referred to Daisy as the daughter he never had. And although she rarely said it, May had always felt the same.
Your girl.
The girl she’d trained. Protected. Held up when the universe seemed determined to destroy her.
Daisy had never needed May. But she’d always chosen her.
Chosen her to be the mother figure she’d always dreamed of having.
The next text message followed, with perfect timing. And even before she could see the sender’s name, she knew it was from Daisy.
Hey May. Payne said he’d update you, but I’m thinking he’ll downplay things. Need my S.O. right now. Please tell me you’re free. I’ll tell Payne to send the jet.
No emojis, no exclamation points, perfect punctuation, and she hadn't called May her Supervising Officer in years . Something was very wrong, and the thought sent a hot stone down to the depths of her chest.
It only took her seven minutes to pack a small duffel, all while on the phone with Payne, arranging pickup. He also promised to personally call the Academy for her and arrange for a substitute for a few days. She thanked him profusely for that gesture.
Finally she locked the door behind her, stepped out onto her front porch, let out a deep breath, and set her jaw.
On my way, she texted Daisy. Hang in there. I got you.

My Maria Hill AO3 Fics Masterlist by type
Action heavy Maria focused stories
A Shot in the Dark
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An former US government leader takes over a rogue a Hydra faction for its technology in order to gain control over the Avengers and sell his technology back to the government. But his plan to capture Tony Stark and hold Pepper Potts hostage to force Tony to assist him goes wildly off the rails when the team mistakenly kidnaps Maria Hill instead. Maria races against time to save an injured Tony Stark and bust them out of secret Hydra holding facility. This fic is heavily inspired by the movie Alien also there are typos I need to go through and fix, but it's an action heavy read with a lot snark!
Boots On the Ground  (unfinished)
Tumblr media
Remember when we were told we were getting a spy thriller series where Maria played a “a major role”  and then we got the hot mess that was Secret Invasion and she was in it for six minutes before she was needlessly and personally murdered by Kevin Feige? (I might be exaggerating a little) ANYWAYS here’s a spy thriller Secret Invasion with a tense cat and mouse game, father daughter themes, women fighting sexism, action, and lots of surprises and Blackhill references.
Maria Hill Fics about Relationships and Feelings and maybe some action too.
All The Things We Left Unsaid
A very depressed post-blip Maria who is devastated by the loss of Natasha imagines a funny and emotional conversation with her.
What Comes to Light (a sequel to a Shot in the Dark)
Maria navigates a complicated situation between her new found trust with Tony Stark and losing her relationship with Fury all while she tries to push away and end her relationship with Natasha all while Tony and Maria dodge shady FBI agents with ties to their prior captors and Maria is stalked by an escaped ex-hydra agent. Maria gets unexpected help from Jimmy Woo.
The Shadows on the Wall (unfinished) (a follow-up to What Comes to Light and Shot in the Dark)
Tumblr media
Pepper and Maria expand their friendship while they silently deal with PTSD from the experience in What Comes to Light. Maria struggles with her identity and sexual orientation as she tests the waters with relationships outside of her on and off again with Natasha all while the Avengers and Maria are baited into a trap. (This one has some 2013 Fanfic vibes lmao sorry)
TY to dailymarvel gifs
Other themes in my work that tend to repeat: Melinda May is always right | Tony Stark is a lovable brat who is awful but hilarious and awesome | Natasha is cool | Pepper is overlooked and undervalued by those around her | Mother daughter bonds | Interrogations | Surprise appearances! | Smart people make mistakes | Action movie and Sigourney Weaver references | Maria confronts her past | fighting sexism | Father daughter relationships | Guilt | Maria has to figure some shit out

So, hi! I hope this message finds you well!
I know you might’ve moved on from the AoS fandom, but I’ve come from your TikTok, and I love your May & Daisy edits! The fics that accompany a few of them as well are simply glorious! And the captions are mini fics in and of themselves as well so they’re lovely (if heart wrenching at times) to read, too!
I was hoping, if you wouldn’t mind, could you rec some of your favourite May & Daisy fics? Doesn’t matter whether it’s complete or how long it is :)
Thank you for your time! And for your wonderful edits and works!
Have a nice day/night!
thank you so much for your kind words anon, they really do mean a lot :))
as for maydaisy fic recs, boy do i have some for you!!
now for the sake of not making this post too long here are some of my favourite maydaisy authors:
Book_freak I don't think we can talk about maydaisy fics without mentioning them; of they're 90 or so maydaisy fics, you're bound to find your cup of tea!!
PanicMoon15 for when you need a little fluff and lightheartedness. also, they're Baby Mine, Rest Your Head Close To My Heart series? a must read, no one does AU like they do.
cassiopluto for when you want something a little darker and want to read some insanely good writing <3
daisyqiaolianmay they have so many good fics to choose from and I think I mention The Framework later in this post, but others worth checking out are A Daisy By Any Other Name  and The Parts That Make A Whole Series!!
Inkquillery i can't express in words how beautiful her writing is, all of her maydaisy fics are such joys to read <33
marvelthismarvelthat would've ended up listing all their fics in the following section so I listed them here. they write so many cool concepts it's hard to summarize them, but each and every one is incredible
agentmmayy a lot of sweet philindaisy content as well as a handful of maydaisy angst bcus sometimes that's just what you need.
here are some more specific fics that I (obviously) love:
It’s a Long Road Out to Recovery From Here by PanicMoon15 I enjoy most fics that deal with their relationship post the season 2 finale, but this one is quite something else. the writing and the themes and the characterization and just omg I cannot stress how good this fic is!!
Hold Her Close by StillTryingToWrite I'm a sucker for character studies and introspections and this one is just so beautiful.
silent secret sacred ground by Inkspinner a post-coulson's s5 death fic that is just so sweet and so gentle and I lose my cool a little whenever I think about it.
In Kasias' arena, no one wins… by Axolotl7 read this so long ago but I remember it being just jawdroppingly tragic and such a cool concept. insanely vivid writing <3
Mother’s Day/Father’s Day Series by agentquakingskye philinda becoming grandparents?? yes please. this series is so fluffy and so happy and even if you aren't into daisy x sousa, i think it's still worth reading.
Exposure by agentquakingskye now this isn't maydaisy focused, but they do have quite a few scenes and honestly, I'll take any opportunity to recommend this fic because oh my god. life-changing, I'm telling you.
and if you're into AU's that deal with baby/younger daisy some of my favs are:
from your head down to your toes (and your tiny nose) by agentmmayy of all the "daisy getting turned into a baby somehow" fics, this one is my absolute favourite. sadly I think it was discontinued but I think it's worth reading the 18 chapters posted!
Just a Walk in the Park by Bdoyle1807 I remember lovinggg the dynamic between May and (a much younger) Daisy in this and I'm pretty sure I read it in one sitting so.
The Framework by daisyqiaolianmay such an interesting take on the whole Framework stuff, I can't recommend it enough.
honestly, despite going through my bookmarks pretty meticulously, I'm probably missing some I would absolutely recommend as well, but I hope you find something you like out of the ones listed :))

Seasons Meetings
By Skyler10
Summary: Daisy brings her new girlfriend home to meet her parents, and Phil and Melinda are thrilled.
A/N: Wrote this on the plane home alone to a less accepting family and edited on the flight back, so I hope this helps all of us who have parents who wouldn't react in this welcoming of a way. *hugs

-----------------
Melinda May was in awe looking back at her past holiday family photos. She’d aged, despite her husband’s protests to the contrary. He had too, but gracefully, carrying the wisdom and laugh lines of experience, complimenting his gentle kindness. Their tiny baby transformed through each photo—first into a delightful and hyperactive little girl, then to an adorkable preteen, then to a depressed teenager with long hair dyed even blacker than her natural dark brown and with matching nails and thick eyeliner. She smiled, but it barely covered the truth. Those were rough years for them all.
But the photo tradition had continued. The longer Daisy was in college, the more she bloomed. She matured into a radiant young adult, if self-deprecating and with still a bit of that old insecurity when she ran into old classmates when home for the holidays. Former teachers and senseis and parents of friends asked every time when she was going to bring home a boyfriend, how she could possibly still be single, and didn’t she want to give her parents grandchildren?
Melinda always redirected the conversation, with a protective arm around her daughter’s shoulders. Both Melinda and Phil were quick to reassure Daisy that they were proud of her regardless of her relationship status or whether she ever had children. Daisy was grateful but said no more on the subject. She mentioned boyfriends here and there, and a girl or two, but none made it to Christmas or to meeting her parents. Melinda and Phil worried that Daisy's teen years were still haunting her all these years later.
In Daisy’s senior year of high school, she came out as bi to her parents in a tearful outpouring of secrets at the lowest point of her depression, but it proved to be a turning point. To Phil and Melinda, it was also a relief as it answered so many questions. It wasn’t just her ADHD, the high expectations on her as a tech genius, and the stress of moving away to college soon. She’d had her heart broken a year earlier by a girl who wasn’t ready to be out and denied they had ever had anything between them. The girl's friends shamed and bullied Daisy for months, but eased up over the summer and the fall semester. But as pressure mounted in the spring before graduation, Phil and Melinda found Daisy in her room crying so hard that dark streaks of mascara stained Phil’s shirt as he pulled her close. She’d been photographed flirting with another girl, and the photo had made its way around social media with meme text about sin and “confusion” in “our schools,” with the cyberbullying perpetuated by the girl from the previous year who had now joined an evangelical youth group.
No one could blame Daisy for staying away after high school graduation. She spent her summer breaks in impressive internships until one of those internships turned into a job at the end of those four years. But through university and now as a working professional, she always came home for Christmas.
This year, however, she wouldn’t be coming alone. She said she had a special guest, but she wanted it to be a surprise.
Melinda and Phil lit up when they saw their precious girl appear from the airport terminal. But the bombshell blonde with her made their smiles even bigger. The blonde caught Daisy’s scarf as it fell off and they stopped so she could wrap it back around Daisy’s neck. Daisy pecked a kiss to the blonde’s cheek and took her hand.
“Mystery solved then,” Phil quipped to Melinda. Melinda sent him an amused look of agreement before they waved to catch Daisy's attention.
After reunion hugs were exchanged, Daisy introduced them to the blonde who was politely waiting behind her.
“Okay, don't be weird,” Daisy warned, “but this is my girlfriend, Carol Danvers. Surprise! Carol, this is my mom and dad.”
Daisy's nervous smile told Melinda all she needed to know. Daisy was in love. This was no mere holiday invite because Carol didn't have plans. This was an official Meeting of the Parents.
“Wow, girlfriend, huh?” Phil stuck out his hand to shake Carol's. “I'm Phil.”
“We're so glad to meet you.” Melinda shook her hand next. “I'm Melinda.”
With this warm welcome, they walked together to the baggage claim.
“So this is the mysterious Carol,” Melinda began. “We've heard you've been spending time together…”
“… But we didn't know about the girlfriend part,” Phil finished.
Carol turned to Daisy in hesitation, “Wait, did they know before now that you're—”
“Oh! Yes.” “Old news.” “Yes!” The three hurried to answer.
“Just not that you two specifically were together in that way,” Phil explained his comment. “Carol, we can't wait to get to know you. We're really excited you're here.” Phil tried to rein in his enthusiasm to not embarrass Daisy, but Daisy and Melinda laughed at how obvious it was. Carol didn't, though. She seemed to relax.
“Thank you,” she said simply. Carol didn't hide it as well as Melinda did herself, but this girl clearly had some armor up. Melinda made it her mission to help Carol see her defenses were unnecessary here and that she was genuinely welcome.
“We weren't sure who this surprise guest would be so we made up the guest room,” Melinda explained. “But if you'd both be more comfortable staying in Daisy's room, that's fine too. Her bed is big enough for two.”
There, that was obviously supportive.
“Mom!!” Daisy groaned and blushed.
Phil shrugged. “This is our first time doing this. We don't know what you want.”
“Okayyyy,” Daisy turned to Carol, “now you see why I wanted it to be a surprise.”
Carol smiled at Daisy's childish embarrassment. “I think that's very kind. I'm okay with sharing if Daisy is.”
Daisy nodded and relaxed at how well this was going so far despite her anxieties, and Carol continued.
“Daisy told me it's the first time she's brought anyone home to meet you two. And she told me about all your Christmas traditions.”
Phil offered, “Do you have any of your family's that you would want to do while you're here, Carol? And are they okay with you being with us instead of with them this year?”
Carol exhaled heavily and looked to the still-quiet baggage carousel. “Yeah, they … will be fine.”
Daisy filled in, “Carol and her parents don't really get along.”
Ah.
Phil and Melinda nodded in understanding, and Phil offered, “Well, you're always welcome with us.”
He wanted to hug Carol, Melinda could tell, but the bags started to arrive. He was always finding young people in need of a mentor or father figure and helping them believe in themselves, whatever path lay ahead of them.
With their luggage acquired, they were ready to start their holiday. The four ventured out of the airport for a first Christmas together that they would each treasure for the rest of their lives, despite all of the awkward moments and hard conversations—and the heartbreaking realization that Carol had been worried about Phil and Melinda’s reaction to Daisy bringing home a woman. But Carol's courage and love had shown through, even in that misplaced fear, by being willing to come home with Daisy anyway. Which, of course, only endeared her to them more.
Even that same Christmas, after dropping the two young lovebirds back at the airport, Phil and Melinda mentioned it as soon as they were alone in the SUV. There was mutual agreement that this was The One for Daisy, but also that Carol clearly felt the same. She was the only person who could be worthy of their daughter, from the way Carol adored Daisy to the way she always looked out for Daisy's best, from that scarf in the first moment they saw her to handling Daisy's luggage with care when unloading at the dropoff on the way back.
“That girl’s going to be our daughter-in-law someday,” Melinda had remarked as they watched Carol disappear with Daisy through the airport sliding doors.
“You okay with that?” Phil asked just to be sure.
“Definitely. And you know I wouldn't say that about anybody else.” Melinda raised an eyebrow pointedly. “You?”
“Me too.” Phil smiled and pulled the SUV away from the curb and into an opening in the airport traffic. “One week and we already feel like a family of four.”
“People always asked me if we'd regret not having more kids,” Melinda confessed. “But I think this was the one we were waiting for. Not a sister for Daisy but a wife.”
Phil recounted this story as the father of the bride a year and a half later, in their wedding toast.

be the stillness of the moon
An alternate version of my fic, whistling static when the young learn to fly. Rated T.
Read on ao3.
He found her out on the porch, back against one of the cabin walls and one knee tugged to her chest.
Hunch proving true, Coulson snagged a familiar, heavy woolen blanket on his way out and eased the door open, letting it squeak just the slightest bit.
“Hey.”
May was staring off into the distance, the slope of her shoulders letting him know she’d heard and acknowledged his presence. She was still in pajamas, the soft, worn fabric not nearly warm enough for this kind of chill.
Phil made his way over carefully and settled down onto the wooden bench, noisy steps and his shoulders soft and easy. “May.”
“Wanted to see the sky.”
Her voice came out just below a murmur, but Coulson exhaled quietly -- relief and surprise both.
“One of those nights, huh.”
It took a long second, but she nodded. Coulson slouched comfortably, wedged his shoulder against the wooden slats of the cabin. Their cabin.
“How long’ve you been out here?” It was light, but the edge of concern appeared without his permission. It was alright.
May just shook her head.
She’d been off the last few days, snappish or a different sort of silent than usual. He’d kept an eye out but let her be, knowing she would bring whatever it was up if she needed to, and also that sometimes all he could do for her was give her the time and space she needed to deal in her own time, her own ways.
It had been months now, settling into this little cabin and building the kind of peacefulness he’d barely ever dared to imagine; enough time for him to recover his strength somewhat, for that barely perceptible air of tightly wound exhaustion that had surrounded May for years to begin to dissipate. They’d been able to start settling in, building the routines that they both, May especially, needed.
So much of it still felt new. They had thirty years between them, plenty of those spent living in close quarters and through the kind of hard years that taught you the most about a person, but it was still…different, when it was just their four walls; a smaller space, none of the responsibilities that had been a distraction and a stressor and a sanctuary all at once.
He’d gotten to hear May laugh, really laugh, for the first time in so long. He felt more like himself now than he had in years, settled and steady in his own mind and skin. They were still bound to have bad days. Always had, even back when they’d been barely more than kids, only beginning to learn what it would mean to live the life they’d chosen. May was still so used to shouldering everything on her own, and despite contrived appearances to the contrary, Phil actually sucked rather magnificently at the whole talking about it thing. They were working on it, like they were on everything else. It was still hard, sometimes.
“Wanna tell me what’s up?”
“You don’t have to stay,” May said quietly. “I’ll be fine in the morning.”
Okay, not an answer, but not a no, go away either. The fact that she wasn’t claiming to be fine now said…a lot.
“I’d like to, though.”
May blinked at him, genuinely surprised.
“If that’s okay?”
It took another moment, but she nodded. Phil tapped the blanket in his lap, drawing her attention to it, before he lifted it up, gave it a flap and wrapped it carefully around her shoulders. She had too many old injuries to be out in this kind of cold, and the weight would help. “You in pain?”
He saw her hesitate, falter. They’d had the be honest talk a few weeks ago, both of them equally as bad about powering through pain when they no longer needed to. It had taken May literally collapsing on her bad leg after pushing it for weeks for that to happen.
“Some,” May said finally, and Phil breathed out another little bit of worry. “Just stiff. I’ll take care of it later.”
Phil gave the blanket another pointed flick until she bundled herself up more securely, a little of the tension bleeding off her shoulders as she did. They had a few hot water bottles bundled up in one of the kitchen cupboards. He doubted she’d be up for a massage any time soon, but he could go dig those out in a bit, boil some water. As much as he wanted to, he knew better than to suggest going inside just yet.
The stars were bright, this far away from any light pollution. May loved it out here, despite the cold, the endless depth of the sky stretching on and on and on. Phil squinted habitually at his watch (he wasn’t wearing one) and then up at the moon, digging up rusty memories and figuring about three a.m., the angle of the waning crescent.
Pine was sweet in the air. It was still so easy to remember a world cracked apart. Phil swallowed against swelling relief, not for the first time, the reminder of more than he could have ever wished for.
May exhaled softly, letting something go. Phil took the cue and broke the silence, taking a leap.
“You went to see Robin and Polly today?”
May shook her head. “Didn’t go. Drove halfway there and turned around. I called Polly to apologize, made up some excuse, I don’t know.”
Oh. “You didn’t say anything.”
“Couldn’t.”
Phil took a slow breath, making sure he would sound the way he wanted to. “Daisy’s not upset with you, you know.”
There was a long, trembling pause. May’s voice was quiet, when she finally spoke. “She has every right to be. It was stupid of me to yell.”
Their pseudo-daughter (when had it gotten so easy to think of her like that?) was sound asleep in the little room off the hall (officially declared hers whenever she wanted it), here to stay with them the two weeks until Mack called her in to report for her new team’s first official mission. May had come home struggling, hiding it well enough that even he’d missed it at first, and it had been over…nothing, really. Daisy had stared after May’s retreating back with nothing but concern, reading the real reasons for her old mentor’s sudden lashing out in her rigid stride, the harsh lines of her back and shoulders. She knew May so much better than Phil thought either of them realized, these days.
He took another breath, still tempering his tone. “Stupid is the idea that you don’t deserve to be loved.”
May actually startled, turning around to stare at him with a look that tried its hardest to be a glare but fell quite a ways short. “I…what?”
Phil shrugged, keeping the movement gentle and easy despite the ache pulling tight in his chest. “C’mon, May. It’s not like I don’t have some idea of what’s going through your head. But it’s stupid. And I’ll keep saying so ‘til you believe me.”
“This isn’t about…” May closed her eyes with a growl, letting her head thud back against the paneled walls. “I don’t know how to do this, Phil.”
“Do what?”
“Live. Like this. Just be, I don’t know, a person. ”
“May…”
“I don’t know what I’m doing,” May turned to stare at him, implacable. “I’m not the person I want to be, not… I’m working on it, but it’s not worth it if I’m hurting you— if I’m hurting everyone along the way.”
Phil shook his head, bewildered. “Where is this coming from?”
May just shook her head.
“Is this about--”
“It’s not about anything,” May snapped. He just blinked at her. There’d been no real heat in it.
May shook her head and looked away, propping an elbow on her good knee and letting her shoulders slump, palm bracing her forehead. Phil could feel her retreating, slipping farther and farther away.
He sighed and scooted closer before he could think for too long about it, rubbing a hand softly up and down the length of her spine. May wasn’t tense, didn’t flinch. Phil exhaled softly.
“Hey.”
May leaned slowly against him, her head still bowed, and he shifted to better settle her weight against his shoulder, breathing gentle and steady.
“I’m sorry,” she said quietly.
He shook his head, knowing she could feel it. “What’s eating at you?”
It’d been so long that the unspoken things just kind of spoke for themselves. May’s snappishness over the past few days hadn’t been the kind of snappish she got when she was pissed about something -- this sort of scattered lapse in control was the exact opposite of shutting down, of keeping everything contained the way she was wont to do. She was doing her best to let him in now because she was in a place to accept support without depending on it, because grounded and self-reliant when it came to emotional stability had always been May at her happiest.
The kind of trust in the trying had carried them through more hells than he could count. It’d been a constant in his life for so long. He’d never taken it for granted. It still meant the world.
She was on the side of the hand he could feel, and the blanket was soft under his palm as he rubbed careful circles over her back.
“I walked the perimeter,” May muttered at last, muffled. Phil just nodded. He’d noticed the mud earlier, caking her boots.
“Checked all the weapons, the locks, the go-bags. Just sat there taking the gun apart, putting it back together. I haven’t gotten like this since that stupid detail in the Alps, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“Too stressed,” Phil offered softly. The frustration in May’s scoff came through loud and clear.
“With what. ”
They were opposites, in this respect. He needed time to unwind if he didn’t want to start losing his mind, always had been that way. That was why field command hadn’t bothered him, why Director would have always been a little bit miserable. The weight of it all, he’d learned a long time ago how to carry.
May could handle anything while she was in the middle of it, would take the weight of anything and somehow still manage to stay centered, steady. It was once things slowed down that she’d get wound tighter and tighter, frustration usually the first thing to break the dam. She’d never really thought that was a valid reason to struggle, either. May knew all of it, and still thought she ought to be better than all things that made her human.
“Too much, too soon?”
May scoffed harder.
“What happened today?”
“Nothing. That’s the point.”
Phil just waited.
May straightened a little, after a while, pulling away and scrubbing her hands over her face. She looked away for another long moment.
“Nothing happened. It's just me.” The anger there was a clear mask, now, something heavier underneath. Bitterness?
He stayed quiet long enough to be sure she wasn’t planning to say anything else just yet. “Kiddo loves you, Mel.”
May looked more tired than ever, looking back at him.
“She misses you, wants to spend time with you. There’s no version of that where it’s a bad thing.”
There was another long silence. Phil kept quiet until he felt the air start to unravel, the weight slowly dissipating. May grappled silently with herself, motionless at his side.
He could feel the moment she decided to speak. May didn’t look at him, the words just barely there.
“I see myself hurting her.” Pause. “You. Daisy.”
Phil made a soft sound before he could stop himself. May shook her head in response without looking up.
“I know. I know it’s just… there’s no meaning to it. It’s not… but I…
“There’s nothing to fight here,” May said softly, as close to helpless as she ever let herself sound. “Just…”
“Yourself,” Phil said softly.
May nodded. “And that’s what I wanted. I need that, need to deal with… but I’m no good to be around like this.”
“What if we want to, though?”
May just looked at him, frustrated and desolate. After a split second the look vanished; she was unreadable to him, for a moment, blank.
“May. There’s nothing you could do that would make us-- make me want you far away,” he said quietly, steady, and watched the mask begin to crack. “If you need some air, some time to yourself-- that’s different. But, May, nothing is going to make me want to give up on this. I don’t want anything more than to see you happy.”
He watched her swallow, struggle a second to speak and then decide against it.
“We need you,” he said gently, because he was trying to say, do you understand how much you are loved? and sometimes that was the version of it May understood best. “Me, Daisy. We all do. You are so loved, Melinda, you know that?”
May pressed the heels of her hands hard into her eyes for a second, dropping her hands back into her lap as she lifted her head to stare out at the night.
“I love you,” Phil said, and watched the tears well up, the way May closed her eyes tight. “Melinda, hey. Look at me?”
She did, finally, and he reached out to cup her cheek with the hand he could feel, wiping away the tears trickling down her face. May had been fighting this for so long, but now she just looked at him, unblinking and vulnerable, her hands folded together in her lap.
“You’re gonna be able to hear it without crying,” Phil said quietly. “Even on bad days. It’ll take time, probably, but we have time, okay?”
It hadn’t been a hard thing for her to say, the first time. She’d just waited for the right moment. None of that was a surprise, once he’d gotten his wits back enough to stop gaping in the hall like an idiot. He needed words, sometimes, to understand, so that was what she’d given him.
It was still different when it came to herself. It wasn’t hatred May carried for herself any more, hadn’t been for a while; there’d been a quiet morning and a good hike and in far fewer words she’d told him that much herself. It wasn’t quite peace yet, either, but in so many ways it was forgiveness. He’d watched her fight for it for years, these hard-won inches of kindness, had realized a while ago that that was something he still needed to learn for himself.
May’s strength had never begun or ended at her ability to beat people to a pulp. That had never been the part he was in awe of.
Thing is, strength has never been known to make anything any easier -- not unless you’re moving house with a grand piano. It’s just a promise you’ll make it through.
“It’s okay,” Phil said, steady. It wasn’t so gentle, this time. Melinda needed certainty almost always more than she ever needed gentleness; he’d never entirely gotten over the surprise of realizing that was something he could give her. “You’re not alone, alright? We’re here. We have time.”
They’d lived so many lives, so many years spent choosing the world over theirs. Years of sacrifice, years sacrificed. They were never getting any of that back, but this was still a gift. Nothing had ever felt so much like hope to him as it did to be able to say that so easily -- we have time.
May didn’t say a word, but she leaned forwards to press her forehead into his shoulder, one arm reaching out to hold on tight.
He held her until she stopped shaking, until her breathing settled back to steady.
After a long time, May pulled away, wiping her eyes on her sleeve. Eyes red, she managed to look disgruntled enough that Phil had to bite back a laugh.
“Lighter?” he suggested gently.
May grumbled. “Headache.”
She’d hated to cry since he’d known her. Claimed she had since she was a kid, that it always just left her feeling worse than before, wrung out. He’d said lighter because he could hear it, though, the edge of strain gone from the way she breathed whether or not she’d admit it. He would never manage to explain to her the relief it was, May allowing herself to unravel this far without so much of the old pain behind her eyes, him being able to just hold her without any terror gripping at his chest, so he didn’t try.
They sat there in silence for a few long, slow moments. Once the sense of ease had settled, Phil got to his feet, holding out a hand.
“Stars’ll be there tomorrow,” he said with a little grin, as May blinked up at him. “We need to sleep, Mel.”
May hesitated, but grabbed his hand. She didn’t wobble, as she stood up, but she didn’t quite succeed at hiding a wince, either. They wrapped arms around each other, familiar movements (except now they were just old, not recently injured), and made their way a little creakingly towards the door.
And paused, just inside the threshold.
A lamp was alight. Daisy’s dim outline was at the stove, but they could see her grin as she turned round at them, visibly chewing over potential remarks and discarding most of them.
“Morning,” she landed on, cheekily, and he heard May groan, struggling to extricate herself from her blanket and his steadying arm without the considerable indignity of toppling over.
“Why are you awake.”
“Were we too quiet?” Phil asked, grinning back at their girl.
“Mm-hm.”
May limped over towards the little counter and Daisy moved to meet her, holding out a mug and a hot water bottle. May accepted both.
“I’m sorry,” Phil heard her say, quietly, as he made his way over to sprawl over the couch. Daisy’s answering tone was soft, genuinely warm.
“S’all good, May. I know… but I think I know what you were trying to get at, maybe. We can talk about it later?”
May nodded. Phil smiled a little at the relief bleeding off her shoulders. She couldn’t exactly reciprocate, with both hands full of recently boiled liquid in various forms, but she leaned into it, when Daisy wrapped her in a brief hug. The look that passed between them said more than words ever could. Daisy’s smile was soft, as she pulled away, and that was that.
“AC?”
He grinned up at her as she came over, delivering another mug. Over at the counter, May braced herself against the scrubbed wood and took a sip from her own, looking up with one eyebrow raised.
“Bitter.”
From May, that was the highest compliment a mug (or a maker) of hot cocoa could receive. Daisy grinned over at her.
Phil took a sip in his turn, and wow. “Bitter,” he agreed. He figured he sounded only a little bit dismayed. He caught the pointed look May sent him. Not a little, then.
“Good.”
Daisy edged very obviously away, gathering up a mug of her own. “Uh. Don’t taste mine.”
May eyed her for a second. And lunged.
Daisy yelped, evading; May feinted neatly (Phil recognized the move and grinned) and wound up with two mugs in her hands, Daisy flailing. “May-- ”
They’d figured before that Daisy still couldn’t outclass May when it came down to raw speed, not in this case without quaking either her or the cocoa -- how that was still true given the amount of pain May’s stance said she was in, he didn’t know, but neither of them had spilled a drop. Phil just sighed. May took a sip.
“Daisy --”
“It’s just a little sugar-- ”
“This is not a little --”
“I’m young, my metabolism can handle it--”
“It’s the middle of the night--” May stopped. Glared. “Are you calling me old.”
“Nope!” Daisy said, as brightly as humanly possible. “Never! C’mon, it’s almost morning, mom, it’s like a once a year thing, we’re already up, you need to get warm, c’mon drink yours and gimmie!”
Mom. No one so much as blinked. May might have maybe handed over the mug with less grumbling than she otherwise would have. Maybe. Phil grinned to himself when he saw her scrub at her eyes behind Daisy’s back, just out of the corner of his eye.
“You’re coming on a run with me tomorrow.”
“Sure.” Daisy bundled towards her, herding towards the sofa. “First you need to get off your feet, sit, please, you’re freezing.”
They wound up all bundled up on the sofa together, sipping mugs of cocoa and tangled up in all the blankets in the house. Phil started telling stories, because there was cocoa and why not, dredging up some Daisy had never heard before and that May would have grumbled at, at length, on almost any other day.
Daisy’s ringing laughter filled every corner. The world closed in around them, just for a little while, a little circle of warmth, safety. Family.
May just listened, leaning against him again with Daisy’s head on her shoulder, eyes soft and content.
She was the only one of them who hadn’t gotten any sleep at all, but it was Daisy who dozed off first, her cheek still on May’s shoulder and no tension at all between her brows. May lifted her mug into the coffee table and slipped a pillow beneath her cheek but otherwise wouldn’t move, hands feather-light as they brushed a strand of Daisy’s hair gently out of her eyes. Her eyes were wet again, but she just looked at him, aching and steadfast in the darkness, the gentle light of a waxing moon.
They didn’t say a word. They didn’t have to.
They would all wake up the next morning groaning, lower backs yelling obscenities and Daisy’s neck stiff from being bent at a near-right angle for far too long. For the few hours of darkness remaining, they all slept peacefully.
May awoke with the first rays of sunlight, blinking her eyes open to find her family huddled comfortably around her, upturned faces washed in gold.
They were at peace, safe and warm. All of them bore ghosts in their shadows, stubborn and lingering; some things would still hurt, come morning. Light tumbled shyly through the window, growing in strength until it sprawled, defiant, into every corner of the room.
The day was going to be beautiful. May exhaled, soft and slow.

Something that’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine is when, in fic, authors describe the characters with conventionally attractive features even if they just… don’t look like that? Lots of female characters don’t have slim waists or delicate arms or naturally bright red lips, but I see them described like that all the time.
(I’ve read fic where all of those traits have been applied to Melinda May. May! Ming-Na Wen is STUNNING, and has none of those features. As May especially, she has a strong build.)
This kind of writing upholds “””conventional””” beauty standards while also being disloyal to the characters. If you want to smash two Barbie dolls together, do that. Just don’t call it fan fiction.

take this longing from my tongue
Tumblr media
Daisy’s never really had the chance to say “I love you” to someone before. Then again, she’s never really had someone worth saying it to. New experiences all around.
5 times Daisy almost said “I love you” to a member of her team, and 5 times she found a different way to say it.
chapter two: and the walls kept tumbling down
“Skye gripped the glass a little tighter, feeling her anxiety swell as the words pushed behind her lips. She wanted to tell him something , something that could possibly explain this whole mess like Fitz switched the samples or my blood is completely different than it was before or I don’t recognize my own body and I think I might be a monster, please help me?
Nothing came. She shrugged helplessly and looked down at the floor.”
or: the epic highs and lows of trying to come out to your parent figure, as told by skye and coulson in s2 :-)

The Avengers Initiative | Early 2010s [Marvel Phase 1 Fanfic]
Tumblr media
Summary: Putting a team together isn’t always easy, but it’s always good to have a few helping hands. But the real question is, will this actually come?
Pairing: Jason UnderWood & Darcy Lewis, Rick Banner x Luna Marsh
Established relationship uncle and nephew: Tony Stark and Jason Underwood
Characters mentioned: Phil Coulson, Pepper Potts, Melissa Wallace, Rei Stark, Rochelle Romanoff and etc.
—//—
It was a pair of months back to backs. Fury saw something shift in the air, he felt like time was running and the future needed heroes. Young and old. Ones to learn from one another and grow together as a team.
Nick felt a threat was coming soon.
But he also knew his so called heroes wouldn’t come falling out of the sky or so he thought?
He opened a cabinet and pulled out a stack of signed paperwork. One file said it all.
The Avengers Initiative.
The man held a small smirk behind his eyes. Danvers was already in space, and he knew she had a daughter. Michelle Danvers. She will be coming soon for sure. So that was off the hook, but he needed more players.
Rogers. Stark. Banner. Romanoff. Thor. Barton. His so called main players.
But it didn’t stop there. He needed the younger links there as well.
Any extra players he can get.
He had Agent Coulson and Agent May gather another list of people that SHIELD kept tags on. Theses teens and young adults came from different backgrounds and plenty of fields. But he knew they would be fit to rise up when needed.
Coulson had scouted the fields across the country, finding a pair of unlikely characters. A couple. Instead of distributing them, he slides the file underneath their door and walked out. He waited outside the apartment across the street at a cafe, with agents secretly surrounding the area for the pair to arrive home.
Tumblr media
Rick Davidson. Last name Banner. He opened the door with his shy girlfriend Luna Marsh. They just did their small job downtown, finished getting groceries for the weekend and entered their home.
Luna was playing with her hair, removing her jacket but kept her sweater on due to the weather being a little chilly. She was chatting with her boyfriend. Suddenly her eyes narrowed downwards to the floor, seeing a file and raised an eyebrow.
SHIELD.
She gently flipped it open very slowly and being rather confused.
“Uh, Rick?” She asked looking up at him, placing the file on the table.
“Yeah, lovey?” He replied, looking over his shoulder almost done, putting the stuff away.
“What’s this? I feel like I heard of it..”
“Huh?”
Tumblr media
Luna looked over the logo, feeling like she heard of it. Remembering her mother, who was Jersey getting her life together for them, telling her that SHIELD was a strong place. A protective order of people, if you were found, it meant luck.
Rick turned around to face Luna in confusion, before looking at the familiar sight of the file. SHIELD headquarters paperwork was in his hands. His father Bruce Banner, who was working across the world, told him about it.
He looked up at his girlfriend, telling her everything he knew about it. She nodded listening to him.
There was a chance for something new..
~~~~
Fury already sent Romanoff to keep an eye on the older Banner, meanwhile she was also keeping focus on her own daughter. Rochelle Romanoff, who was adopted by The Feltons. Along with her cousin, Liane Felton. She always knew something would go down soon.
Tumblr media
A fallout for The Felton family.
Liane Felton didn’t have a true care in world, however she knew she was different. A mutant. She knew about an organization built for people like her. The women deep down a broken soul who needed a true perspective in life. A purpose.
Same things goes for Rochelle Romanoff, she was the black sheep of the family and she knew, but a part of secretly felt that there was a guardian angel looking after her. Secretly it was her own biological mother.
Knowing one day she will break out and make a stand.
And that day just so happens to be the day her family was destroyed. Sitting in the rumble of the house with shock and tears threatening to show, she found a folder with information beside her.
SHIELD.
She opened it gasping, seeing locked information of who she truly was. And she was right, she did a guardian angel. There was hope.
She just needed to wait now…
~~~~~
Up in Stark Tower, days past. It felt like weeks since the party. But luckily they were home.
The view of Stark Tower was shining. The flooring was designed perfectly. But most of all, it was quiet.
Tumblr media
Tony was building shipments for he can start creating new toys with his kid. Pepper was shopping downtown in the glitzy stores a few blocks away.
Jason sat in the living room with his grandnephew, Rei, watching a movie and eating popcorn. However the boy was more paying attention to the toolset in his hands. He was always in his little world.
The young teen was smart for his age, hell he had a freaking suit he started wearing to fly around in practice for gods sake!
Like father, like son. History repeats itself very well in that department. It made him proud honestly, but it also scared the shit out of him, Pepper and Winter. Two Starks flying around. Wow.
Rei snapped him out of his thoughts without looking up from the spot on the couch.
“Pops! Hello?! Your laptop is making noise again. Answer it!” Yelled Rei, rolling his eyes and glances at the movie.
“Huh? Yeah, thanks kiddo!” He replies, rushing over to his laptop that sat across from the couch.
Tumblr media
The second Jason opened up his emails as he he raised an eyebrow. SHIELD. Don’t they know he’s trying to stay retired?! Hell, he was supposed to meet Darcy this weekend.
He stop to read the folder. It said The Avengers Initiative. He heard Tony mention it. Hell, Rei mentioned it plenty of times!
This time Nick Fury wants to push it further into their minds. He didn’t mind it too much, thinking it was actually a good thing. A band of heroes young and old to keep the future alive.
But what made him almost choke on his drink was the list.
It read from Stark to to Felton to Bishop and beyond!
His eyes did a double take reading the line. Steve Rogers—Captain FREAKING America—on the list?! Mother-trucker was alive?!
Hell there were rumors that even his best friend, Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes is alive?!
Oh god, Coulson is going to have a field day about this…
Tumblr media
“What is it?” Rei asked, looking over his shoulder, “No that a care too much but still.”
“Nothing. Just work.” Jason repiled, keeping himself relaxed about.
“Bullshit!”
“I told you not to say that word.”
“But you use it and so does my mom, so I can use it. What’s the plan?”
He knew the could would figure it out eventually, so he flipped the laptop over to him. Rei’s eyes doubled in size and blinked at the words in front of him, you couldn’t tell if he was in shock or kinda excited. He’s wanted by SHIELD.
“So. Does Dad know that he’s being officially recruited?” Said the teen.
“Nope, but he will find out soon I bet.” He replied with a sigh.
“Finally something i know before he does. Oh I’m gonna love seeing this surprise him..”
“Oh brother..”
~~~~~
The Lehnsherr siblings had it clear in their face. Meira was already off in her own world, working for SHIELD with her friends Melissa, Mia and Ji-Hoon. But Ethan and Cole were a whole different story.
Each found out there own way. Cole after a accident happened in front of his face thinking he screwed up huge.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Ethan was at a cafe on the upper east coast when he landed in his face.
As if both brother could’ve been more right in that moment. Since the first words that came out of their mouths afterwards were..
“Shit.”
“Shit.”
They were in for a wildcard of a ride.
But little did this knew this ride would lead to them working side by side, along with a group of future friends…
~~~~
When the trio found out, it was an unusual idea. Leo was out of his wheelchair taking class to help with his back with Thiego teaching him. Stella was frustrated watching her brothers, which was new to her, handle the whole situation smoother than she was.
It was crazy founding out that there was 3 of them?! But it was a honest joyful sigh of tears and soft smiles. It a magic number!
Tumblr media
Leo was handing the rest and classes a bit better than she was. But can blame her? She felt bad about herself, a little jealous of them.
However Thiego encouraged his big brother and baby sister, even going as far to teach them magic to heal, with Wong’s help.
So it they felt the love all around.
One day after the classes and conversation, a stack of paperwork came in. All 3 siblings looked at one another confused, having a small short discussion about it after finding out what it was.
SHIELD.
They were in sight of something bigger than they expected…
~~~~
It list was long. So many of them found out different ways.
The young group consisted of Rei, Rick, Rochelle, Luna, Cole, Liane and Ethan.
The older group consisted of Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner and Clint Barton. The Strange Siblings included.
~~~~
Once everything was settled into place. They all came one by one. Most importantly the younger generation of future avengers arrived.
It was a long winded conversation full of shouts, confusion, glances and some laughter. A lot of them knew of or met each other on various occasions.
The organization took the decision to make it a different path. Having rented out a small hotel for all of them with separate rooms, places to shop, food to eat and most importantly to get to know one another.
Tumblr media
The Young Avengers stood outside their rooms looking at the agents that were placed in front of them. All wearing causal outfits, but their IDs in their pockets.
Meira Lehnsherr, Amelia Parker, Melissa Wallace and Cho Ji-Hoon. There were other agents downstairs as well, but they seemed like they were the main four.
Mia cleared her throat awkwardly, “Hello everyone! Uh, um I’m Amelia and we’ll like to welcome you to um..ah shit i thought i had this rehearsed...”
Some of the Young Avengers chuckled and snorted at her fumbling over her words.
Meira chuckled, “What she meant to say, is that welcome to The Sandbox, people! Here you will have everything you need from beds to TV to food.”
“Exactly! We want all of you to be comfortable and get to know one another. I bet it will be rather fun.” Melissa added, going on to explain everything in full.
Ji-Hoon spoke up, “What she said! We will help you with everything you need here and so much more.”
Cole, Rick and Luna shared a small smile. Ethan leaned against the wall with his arms across and raising his hand, “Um, where would you guys be staying? And where the hell are the adults?”
Liane smiled and lightly scoffed, “We are all sorta adults here!”
Rick added, “You know what he meant. But where will you guys be staying?”
Melissa gladly answered, “Some of us are cross the hall from you guys and downstairs are the other half. As for the adults, they’re nearby so don’t worry.”
Ethan nodded and Rick shrugged, both finding it alright. Rei just shrugged as well. Rochelle smiled, walking over to Luna to start off a little conversation. The others either went to their rooms or started talking with one another.
It was hilarious really. Teens and young adults all stuck in a motel together, you can only imagine what happened that night!
Some found themselves sneaking into one another’s rooms to hang out and sleep. Meanwhile others bumped into each other in the hallway, getting lunch or dinner, some climbed to the roof to see the stars and it felt oddly enjoyable.
What happened next? You may wonder, that’s up for them to figure out.
