Trieste, “Urban Tribal” dal 15 al 23 ottobre. Urban Tribal è la prima personale dell'artista Matteo Sifanno che si apre sabato 15 e resterà aperta fino al 23 ottobre, con ingresso libero, alla sala Fittke di piazza Piccola a Trieste. Realizzata nell'ambito del calendario di FITTKEgiovani, promosso dall'Assessorato ai Giovani del Comune di Trieste, la mostra è presentata dall'associazione di street art "Melart" e si pone l'obiettivo di sensibilizzare il visitatore sui modelli culturali ascrivibili genericamente al fenomeno delle controculture attraverso un dialogo fra graffiti e tatuaggi. Secondo l'artista, il legame intrinseco tra i due linguaggi è dettato dal possibile disorientamento che può provare chi osserva i segni e/o le immagini proposte, a volte enigmatiche, e tali da renderne complessa l'interpretazione. Quest'ultima inoltre può essere compromessa anche da preconcetti sulle pratiche del writing e del tatuaggio, anche se entrambe hanno influenzato la moda e il design attuale.  Le due pratiche, infatti, hanno raggiunto uno status di accettazione sociale, ma rappresentano ancora un gesto antagonista e di protesta. Il bisogno di esprimersi da parte di molti giovani, ieri come oggi, non trova sempre nei codici artistici tradizionali efficaci canali di manifestazione ed è nota la capacità dell'arte di anticipare ed elaborare, in termini visivi, i temi che la società si pone. I simboli, gli stili, la capacità innovativa dell'arte, e i supporti su cui viene esercitata, possono essere controversi, ma di fatto la sua utilità sta proprio nell'attivazione di un dibattito. Matteo Sifanno vanta un curriculum importante e il suo segno è riconosciuto a livello nazionale ed internazionale. Per questo artista, il graffiti writing e il tatooing sono strumenti per interpretare le dinamiche sociali, quelle più ruvide e complesse, ma sono anche il modo che gli ha consentito di trovare un posto nella società. Scrive Sifanno: "Urban tribal è una vita di sudore, sacrificio, amore e dedizione. Quello che a molti può risultare una perdita di tempo è stata, al contrario, per molti ragazzi cresciuti come me, una possibilità di riscatto. i recently participated in @homestuckredraw and had a ton of fun! heres the page i did (70), along with some close ups :) i originally wanted to make it a gif, but the image quality would get fuucked so i decided to incorporate some simple pop-up elements!
