Tobio was happy. It was clear to see by the way he was constantly fidgeting next to you and the shapes he was thumbing into your thigh, but something was off. He was still laughing and jeering with his teammates and their girlfriends and wives over their latest win against a difficult team, but the way his other hand was gripping the edge of the table was worrying you.

You noticed the other members, especially Romero, his wife Maria and Hoshiumi, giving Tobio some sort of smirk every so often, but you couldn't decipher the meaning. "Hey Tobs," you whispered, "you alright? Did something happen during the match that I missed?" his eyes widened at your concern, before settling back into a small smile on his face.

He pressed a small kiss to your hairline before squeezing your thigh gently. "Perfect, babe. I'm just nervous to tell them that, you know?" Tobio smiled wider this time, giving your thigh one last pat before reaching forward for his drink, dipping back into the conversation with his teammates whilst you and some of the other women broke off into small talk.

A little while after dinner, Tobio nudged your shoulder gently and nodded, visibly seeing your nervousness increase tenfold. You took in a sharp breath, clearing your throat before speaking. I was in hospital for a week or so and Tobio had to take some time off training to support me, even though he was both clueless and overbearing," you all laughed, and a blush spread up Tobio's face. "Anyway, whilst I was still in hospital we found out... That I'm pregnant!"

Cheers erupted from the table, everyone in awe at how you'd kept it to yourselves for so long without anyone realising. As you were hugging a manager who you were particularly close with, you felt a timid tap on your shoulder, turning to see Tobio looking as nervous as ever.

"Y/N, I'm really thankful that you're going to be the mother of my child. I couldn't wish for anyone more... You. I know I'm not very good with my words, but you're the only one I want to share the rest of my life with," Tobio paused, you could see him becoming a little choked up, and the realisation of what was happening hit you. You could feel yourself being overwhelmed with a flood of emotions and your breath shook with every one you took. "Tobio," you murmured, a tear trickled towards your jaw, but was met with a caressing hand against your cheek.

"I love you endlessly, so much you could never imagine. We've had times where both of us have made mistakes, and in the end we always make up and try to be the best we can for the other person. I'd give up anything for you to be the happiest you could be and honestly? I hope that I can give you that. When we sit and talk about our future, especially since finding out you’re pregnant, all I can think about is growing old with you. You deserve the best, and I promise, no one will ever work harder to make you happy and cherish you. So, Y/N L/N, would you marry me?" Tobio hand placed an open box into your palm, your eyes flittering down to take in a beautiful right with a simple design. When looking back up, you noticed his eyes were so full of emotion, even noticing a few tears floating around. You'd both completely forgotten about those around you, who were all looking on in awe, a couple with tears of their own.

After all the years you had spent together, his kiss felt like the first all over again. There was so much poured into it, all of his love, his heart. You couldn't imagine spending the rest of your life with anyone but Tobio.
