This is a snippet from the 11th chapter of 'til the stars evaporate', my Shrios longfic! It takes place immediately after Shepard manages to get through to Saren, only for Sovereign to completely take his mind over and almost succeed in killing her. (Quick note: my Shep's name is Aria, I named her before I'd played ME2 but I'm too attached to her name to change it hahaha)

"Enough." Saren levels his gun directly at Aria's forehead and moves in closer, closer. "It is time for you to die, permanently this time."

The mocking grin drops off Aria’s face and she scowls, curling her lip upwards in a snarl as she grits out: "Fuck you."

She finishes typing in a code on her omni-tool with her good hand, then draws it back and lets the device push her biotic implants past their natural limits. Her vision takes on a crackling blue glow; in one swift motion, she punches the air in front of her with her full might and sends all the energy left within her shooting directly at Saren in an uncontrolled explosion of power. The blast sends him toppling off his hovering platform and takes out the two nearest geth. Aria stumbles forward with the momentum, catching herself on one knee as she wipes blood from her nose. Her head throbs like it's being split open from the inside. Her whole body starts to shiver as if from an icy chill only she can feel, but for a few blessed seconds, Saren stays put on the ground.

how many playlists on spotify/apple music: HEY. listen i already get so much shit from my sibling for this so i dont wanna hear it askjldfhhkasjhdf i dont really use apple music for playlists but spotify... i just clicked create new playlist and it auto-titled it "My Playlist #166" so. 165 of my own playlists. dont ask me how many are basically the same playlist with slight tonal shifts. i dont wanna hear it akfasdlfdfa;dl (and no i WONT go through and delete playlists. spotify is an archive to me lmao)

sharpies or highlighters: sharpies. highlighters have Specific Uses in my brain and sharpies are multi-use and fun

songs that make you cry: im not sure ive cried over a song since i was a teenager that would process my emotions via laying on the floor with my earbuds in, ipod volume set to the max, crying. one of THOSE songs is End of the Line by Henry Jackman. Some songs that make me sad nowadays though are Something in the Orange by Zach Bryan (i KNOW, its country!! how much i like this song surprised me too) and If We Were Vampires by Noah Kahan and Wesley Schultz.

songs that make you happy: not to sound like a snot but i feel sooooo many complex emotions over music and broadening them to reach an overarching 'happy' is askldfjadf im overthinking this one i believe. anyways. do you write/draw/create: sometimes!! id say like 90% of my writing never gets out of the discord rambling stage (sometimes i post that on ao3 if i like it and feel like its long enough) and i wouldnt classify myself as an artist, but for creating i recently got into bookbinding!! ive been typesetting things and when i get to go home this next hitch i want to actually get the woodworking bits i gotta do done so i can move onto the actual binding parts.

headcanons: Arin/FMC + sex

(in case it isn’t apparent, this is going to be a ns/fw post.)

(it’s also. very long.)

some of these were developed through conversations with the brilliant @megatraven​​

Arin would be a doting and attentive lover, always trying to please their partner before themself.

Arin has probably never been intimate with anyone before, since the tattoo is supposed to be a secret, so they're going to have a learning curve.

fortunately, they're also a quick study. they devote their heart and soul to everything they do, and if they don't have the answer to something, they'll dig and dig until they find it. this translates to them being very quick on the uptake when it comes to figuring out what makes FMC tick.

their first time happens after they’ve been together a little while and after some discussion, rather than a moment of passion. FMC is careful to be gentle and considerate with them, leading and guiding them but letting them set the pace.

Arin has a hard time giving up control in general, and that's true in the bedroom too. it's only after they come around to accepting the idea that it's ok to let other people take care of them once in a while and that they don't have to be in charge all the time, they're happy to relinquish control in bed, even relishing the chance, especially since it's one of the few areas in their life where they can do that safely. especially especially since it'll be FMC who'll be taking care of them, one of the people they trust most in the world.

she quickly figures out that they often have trouble asking for what they want and is even unsure of what that is in the first place, since they've always been focused on other people and other things. so she makes it her mission to encourage them to discover and own their desires.

once they get comfortable with it all, i think they'd be a somewhat submissive vers. when they're pleasuring her, they're focused on giving her what she asks for. when she's topping, they're happy to let her do whatever she wants. these two give and take equally in the bedroom, just like in every other aspect of their relationship.

Arin will often get very blushy and red, and it tends to stick around. when it's really bad, it spreads from the tips of their ears all the way down to their shoulders. FMC is fond of flustering them on purpose just to see it. they're so cute, she just can't help herself...

Arin likes to say a lot of little affirmations when making love: compliments on FMC's appearance; praise for something she did that day, for how well she's doing in the moment; declarations of love.

i'm going to take this to the logical extreme and say that they would take to body worship quite well. they simply think she deserves to be treated with all the care and adoration!

Arin usually takes a serious approach to lovemaking, but they can also get playful and teasing. she brings that side out of them, often and very easily. perhaps they recite a romantic quote or poetry, and she counters with something ridiculous. (or a line from Romeo & Juliet, if she's really trying to provoke them. Arin gets all huffy but doesn't pull away.) they both end up getting all silly and giggly.

Arin prefers to be slow and romantic and sensual, even reverential. FMC is still working up the courage to tell them it’s fine to be faster and rougher with her sometimes.

although, their competitive streak shows up now and again too. sometimes they challenge themself to get her to finish as fast as possible, or as many times as possible, or to draw it out as long as they can... until she can't take any more.

they maintain as much skin-to-skin contact as possible: touching, caressing, gentle raking with fingernails, often while maintaining eye contact. for them, connection is key, both physical and emotional. they can never get enough of each other.

they also both enjoy it when she threads her hands through their hair, whether she strokes it gently or tugs on it not-so-gently.

FMC is pretty vocal when they have sex, never one to stifle herself. Arin tries to keep quiet, but when she touches them just right they gasp and whimper despite their best efforts. when they start to lose control, even those muted noises turn into loud moans. FMC loves getting them to that point.

afterwards, they lie together and enjoy their closeness. Arin rests their head on her chest and listens to her heartbeat, while she runs a hand up and down their back and kneads the muscles there, which are so often tense and full of knots.

she loves to make foreplay of divesting Arin of all the layers they wear. in the morning, she takes great pleasure in helping them put them all on again, but not without many a detour...

FMC likes tracing the tree on Arin's torso. when she's feeling feisty, she laves it with her tongue, and upon reaching the solitary flower on their upper chest, gives it a peck. when the whitethorn trees heal and their marking starts to blossom again, she gives each flower a kiss, and Arin counts until they lose track of them all.
