"So you know how, in Remake, the main branch of Avalanche shows up to raid Shinra? It is heavily implied (particularly after the release of the Yuffie DLC) that their presence there is a direct result of Rufus."
how was it implied that they were there as a result of rufus
Ah -cracks knuckles- time to revisit some Remake cutscenes!
But first, just for a more complete background on my thoughts, a big part of my take comes from what we know about Rufus's role as the main source of funds for Avalanche in Before Crisis. It's unclear what of BC still holds for the purposes of Remake, but these are basically the moments I see the game making nods to that, even though (theoretically) by the time of Remake, Rufus and Avalanche should have long ago parted ways.
Tseng's phone call.
Tumblr media
"The VP needs us."
The next we see the Turks, they're with Rufus, on the helipad at the top of Shinra tower. Rufus had no clue who Cloud even was at this point. He certainly wasn't there to fight him. He was there to kill his dad (not the first time he's tried); Sephiroth just beat him to the punch.
2. Wedge's report from the mayor's office.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wedge comes on and tells the main party that HQ is there to "flush out the president." Given Rufus's historic relationship to Avalanche and the fact he just called in the Turks, it makes a lot of sense that he was the one to rally the troops. It was all hands on deck to cause the necessary chaos to go commit patricide.
3. Zhijie's tease (from Intermission).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Solider is trying to beat Zhijie's informant out of him, first he tells them it was Heidegger. When he's told "Wrong answer!" and is hit again, he comes back with, "All right, all right, I'll tell you. It was Rufus."
To me this is either:
a) Zhijie being sassy knowing these guys won't even believe the truth
or
b) SE making a huge wink at their audience who know what's up
(or both, tbh XD)
There may have been a few other throwaway lines from Intermission that I'm not thinking of now, but these are the main three things that, in combination with my knowledge of BC, have formed the foundation of my belief that it was Rufus who called them in.
Thanks for the question! I love theorizing about these games.
ALSO, no spoilers, but in Rebirth there have been some BIG teases between Rufus and a certain other group... I'm withholding commentary until I finish the game, but boy howdy...

do you think griffith post his return to human form is the same as griffith before eclipse personality wise ( if not how would guts react if the griffith post return flat out state that while he regained human form a part of the old griffith is gone and outright states that griffith loved guts ( and that him choosing to leave is what led him to choose to use the behelit)
I think the relationship between human Griffith and NeoGriffith, personalitywise, is kind of like the relationship between grape juice squeezed from a grape and grape juice from concentrate. What I mean is, you take out parts of human Griffith and then add different parts to what's left and what you get is something similar but not the same. And someone who has only ever had grape juice from concentrate might not know what the difference is, or even that there is a difference, but someone who has had both will know even if they don't know how to put it into words.
The biggest question is basically how much of the original "juice" is left, which is somewhat unclear.
And I think Guts would be devastated by that. Because the thing is, he already kind of blames himself for the Eclipse, but a lot of that isn't confirmed or solidified in his head. He knows that his leaving somehow led to Griffith's head being messed up but he doesn't know exactly what the reason for that was. He knows something made Griffith make that choice, but he doesn't know what. Suddenly he would understand not only that his actions were directly implicated in what happened but also that the thing he sought (for Griffith to value and "see" him) was lost specifically because he chose to seek it.

sweet mask returned in the web comic
Quite stealthily with his shape-shifting powers, he did! :O Which required the translation to fully understand what happened btw. By stepping in to help a kid and his grandma evacuate by transforming into the kid's personal toy hero...and inspiring that kid to become a real hero too...all in one fell swoop! Awesome - cause despite everything following his disastrous public reveal, he's still actively going out of his way to do the right thing, out here literally saving kids as an actual hero - still being functionally that at his core :')) ....While observers look on and can still only see him as a deceitful monster to be executed, like come on. (who's actually putting in the thankless, genuine work here, during a widespread literal disaster, to save lives despite their entire reputation?! the difference between the 'fakes' here is so clear...) I'm actually really glad he's back (alive!) after his arc's abrupt cliffhanger, and thematically it's interesting he shows up in the same ch as Garou, considering their characters' similar, yet opposite circumstances. I hope ONE doesn't leave us hanging too long for more!

my idea after seeing the post was that she would undo the spell after jasons death so she would be most affected by it (and aphrodite caused medea to fall for jason in some myths so it would be a contrast for aphrodite to cause piper and jasons separation
It would be a contrast, but I don't really see it happening. Aphrodite in the myths was a Very loving mother - to a fault, really - and I've never gotten the idea she's any different in the RRverse.
She has her faults, yes, but I don't think there's enough evidence to suggest she caused the breakup. Piper was 100% right to break it off because it was built on fabricated memories and lies. It was to help both her and Jason figure out who and what they are to each other, but also themselves.

I think morena will be taken out by chrollo given the jesus references with morena design and chrollos own motif Chrollo's character draws on biblical motifs, specifically diabolical ones: the inverted cross on his coat is often associated with Satanism, and his surname is obviously derived from Lucifer.
Hi!
Yes, I have talked about Chrollo and Morena's potential foiling in multiple posts, like this one:
Morena and Chrollo share the same lack of attachment to life and a religious motif. Chrollo is a mix between the Devil and an inverse Jesus, while Morena’s crown of thorns links her to Jesus as well.
Both their religious motifs have to do with them being leaders. Chrollo and the Spiders are a group of misfits that choose to steal from others, instead of promoting Christian values of charity or trying to change the unjust philosophy of society. They are a disturbance like Jesus and his disciples, but their philosophy is the opposite of his. Morena wears a crown of thorns because she is considered by her society a fake queen, just like Jesus was mocked for his title of King of the Jews. Jesus has this mockery inflicted by others, while Morena is symbolically choosing to inflict it to herself through wearing the crown.
As leaders, both Chrollo and Morena put their identities into their groups. Chrollo has created a group, which in his dreams will survive him. He refers to himself as “the head of the spiders” and thinks his life is not more important than the other members’. Morena’s whole plan consists of leaving her group to do the dirty work for her and her power has no other effect, but to grant others abilities.
This dependence on their respective groups is a hint of how both Chrollo and Morena’s sense of self is ultimately very weak. They have weak egos.
This is why Chrollo needs to steal others’ powers. He steals people’s selves hoping he can find his own and does not realize how his sense of self is in the familial relationships he has with his spiders.
Morena instead tries to oppose Nasubi, but reduces herself to his negation. She is defined by him. She hates hierarchies and this is why her power supposedly grants every member the chance to create their own community. Still, it is all rooted in hierarchies. People are given value through numbers and are granted gifts and rights only if they level up. Even the people Morena’s group has to kill are granted a value. Normal people are less than nen users who are less than princes.
Morena is moving in the same framework as Nasubi, just in the opposite direction. She has not freed herself from his vision. Maybe this is why a prince is at level 50, while she is only at level 45.
Morena is meant to be Chrollo's foil just like Tserriednich is meant to be Kurapika's. In general, this arc seems to be to have both Kurapika and the Spiders as protagonists, they offer us 2 different points of view on the same conflict:
Kurapika describes to us the Prince War, the bloody war of the rich, which is born from abuse and a need to sacrifice the individual for society. In this context, Kurapika's antagonist is building up to be Tserriednich, obviously.
Chrollo and the Spiders show us the Mafia War, which is just a mirror of what is happening above and is born from those same rules and violence. In this scenario, they Spiders are choosing to go after Morena before they hunt down Hisoka.
At the same time, I doubt everything is just gonna be reduced to... Kurapika is gonna kill Tserriednich and Chrollo Morena... Tserriednich and Morena are foes that should challenge Kurapika and Chrollo to overcome their flaws. In particular, Kurapika is probably gonna have to decide between Oito and her baby and getting revenge on his people. What is more important? New life or past death? Chrollo instead must choose if to be like Morena, who is clearly sacrificing the members of her group one after one in a selfish game or if to protect them, even if it costs him revenge and partly his chaotic ideals.
Thank you for the ask!

on alot of greed citizens being sharks I think its a reference to loan Sharks, and christmas has become a rather commercialized holiday ( greed) so I think thats why mammon was designed like that
I'd buy the first one. Mammon's design I think is just Vivzie being unable to design things for shit.

on the dimitri and dedue thing I have seen people whose mentality is that if they dont have a romantic s support with both male byleth and female byleth they are straight going if dimitri was into dudes why doesnt he have an s support with byleth
Then I'd tell those people that people can be "gay" and not fawn over the self insert, because maybe they are in love with a certain character, and it is not because Leon doesn't want to kiss Alm's oranges that Leon is straight.
See, this is what player pandering does to a game, characters are defined by their relationship to the character who is supposed to represent the player.
Let me guess, those people also think Catherine is straight because she doesn't want to marry F!Billy?

I wonder what would sienna have done if ghira put up more of a fight I like the idea that she was planning to kill him and blame it on humans so she could take over because it would turn adam killing her into even more karmic ( where adam got into her rhetoric about pushing violence and that led to the fang going more extreme then she wanted when she gave the allowance for violence) like imagine if she let adam know about that idea
That would be a good basis for a commentary on betrayal begetting betrayal and reaping what you sow. I don’t see Sienna murdering Ghira, though. At worst, she’d get him branded a traitor and imprisoned or at least restricted to Menagerie, since I doubt she had enough political influence to keep his supporters in line if she went any further.

how do you think wuya would react to someone comparing her magic to jacks tech as in what wuya does with rocks and plants is what jack does with metal and science ( wuya has rock golems jack has his robots
She would be ABSOLUTELY LIVID and do everything in her power to smite whosoever even dared suggest such an insulting thought.
Even if there's a kernel of truth to it.

jaune in v8 killed penny assisting her suicide her choice, he spent years trying to prevent the paper pleasers from going to the tree which he considered death repeatedly stopping them from killing themselves. but the paper pleasers succeeded in killing themselves anyway
and now jaune saw ruby "commiting suicide"
Let’s not forget the OG ones
Jaune made suicide jokes about himself all the way back in V1, Pyrrha went off to a fight she knew she was going to kill her, Jaune threw himself at Cinder HOPING she would kill him
This has been going on for a lot longer than V8

how did you react to Rufus meeting with the other shinra execs questioning why didn't they try to stop his father when he was planning to destroy their own reactor not to mention dropping the plate. also what do you think of what he said about his father beforehand
Oh, I LOVED it!
And, at least in the English translation, the dropping of the plate is mentioned!
Tumblr media
Reeve: We used Avalanche's activities as a cover to sabotage our own reactors and destroy Sector 7.
Reeve says a little more about neo-Midgar and the Promised Land; Rufus dismisses his dad as old, and the he says this:
Tumblr media
Rufus: But while we're on the subject, there's something I've been meaning to ask all of you regarding those decisions.
So the destruction of Sector 7 is absolutely a part of what he's questioning.
As for calling his father old and rash... it's hard for me to judge sincerity vs. something that sounds nice to tell his employees. It's a very diplomatic answer, that he immediately diverts attention away from with a question of his own. Rufus does this a lot. Even though he comes across as direct, he's often diverting attention from something else (his role in AC is a great example of this XD). It's also an inherent part of his fighting style—he uses a lot of sleight of hand tricks in Remake.
I digress. My point is: even if Rufus does think his dad was old and senile, it's also more complicated than that. I mean, it's canon that Senior mocks him as a 5-year-old for a good idea that ends up saving Rufus's life. They never had a great relationship.
So that "moment of silence" in Junon? Performative horse shit.
As my good friend @devilreno once said:

what do you mean when you say giorno inherited traits from both dio and jonathan
I'm quite out of practice with JoJo's, so forgive me if this doesn't make sense or seems odd in some way, but my perspective on Giorno was always that he has Jonathan's heart/much of his moral compass and Dio's... attitude and harshness. Because he is, in ways that other JoJos of his era were not, quick to kill, seemingly unrepentant about it, rather emotionally distant and harsh in a lot of ways, but at the same time he has (as Koichi once said I believe) the golden Joestar heart that keeps him from ever going too far or losing his compassion. It also inevitably pulls him back to the more moral path regardless of how far he drifts, but at the same time he is literally a career criminal right, like he doesn't have Jonathan's upstanding morality.
I always thought this was pretty purposeful, because Giorno echos Dio very strongly in many ways (his face for one thing but also there are posing callbacks, he uses the same battle call, etc) but Araki also went out of his way to reaffirm that he is Joestar-like, which differentiates him from some of his half-siblings from Stone Ocean for example.

given that Saitama accidentally hurt blue I feel like genos may be put in a similar situation where he hurts someone he didn't want to hurt ( or kills them)
[webcomic only] Given that the focus of his rage - and urge to kill Bofoi, has become ever darker and obsessive lately, to the point Genos even momentarily feels resentment towards Saitama of all people, his teetering mental state is increasingly cause for concern. It's unknown how stable he'll be or whether he'll be explosively driven into a corner making a horrible mistake he'll regret and can't easily undo......basically that's all up to ONE and we've got our eyes peeled awaiting on the edge of our seats to see how all this could possibly resolve 👀;; Hopefully the worst doesn't happen to him, but whether Genos makes the active choice or involuntarily happens to cross the line or not, ironically becoming the same as that of his sworn enemy, well....whew truthfully I just wish Genos wouldn't have to suffer anymore; ONE pls give him a break and allow the poor kid to actually heal for once!

I saw this on spacebattles mean it was Piper who asked 'why do we need Gods', and as I also fridged…
Piper and Jason falling out of their relationship seems typical enough, but let us not forget a few things. Piper's mother Aphrodite loves manipulating relationships, and Piper did annoy her in Blood of Olympus with her blunt questions. With how much of a Jerkass God Aphrodite can be, is isn't hard to wonder if the end of Jason x Piper was something Aphrodite specifically helped set up.
To be honest, I don't think she did.
It was Piper's choice, after all. Piper was the one who broke it off. If Aphrodite wanted to punish her, why isn't Piper more upset about the breakup? Wouldn't Aphrodite want Piper to be more affected by it for ample punishment?
Aphrodite is a flighty god, and an easily-angered one, but she Loves her children, and I doubt she would screw them over like that.
