The Gateway Arch, St Louis, Missouri. My daughter and I had fun traveling across the the country last summer including a stop the the arch. Since I was still recovering from a bought of COVID, we didn't go up into the arch, but I was doing well enough to be outside taking pictures. Despite the heat, it was a nice little stop. I've traveled across the country a couple of times before when I was young, but for various reasons I had just never passed through St Louis. How many bridges do you drive across and don't really look at the bridge? I snapped this pic while going for some other shots by the bridge and thought the patterns of rust and paint make for some interesting contrast. I had actually taken a picture on a previous occasion, but on this clear day I wanted to also shoot this pic again. The blue contrast really adds to it IMO. You probably can't read the inscription, but it basically says who built it and who were those in charge of the project in 1928. I realize that for much of the world almost a hundred years doesn't seem that long. For here, that's getting to be a pretty old bridge still in constant use. . Nov '20 . Thought I'd go back to where it all began. Nature shots. It's not perfect but that's the beauty of nature it doesn't have to be. However we think we can use it for our own personal gain. Its horrific what we have done to the planet. Covid-19 has trapped a lot of people inside which is awful but it has its benefits. Animals are going back to there natural habitat, theres a big drop in air pollution and habitats can rebuild themselves.
