In the spirit of documenting the effect undead unluck has had on me, I thought I should mention that I talk about it online SO MUCH that when I was trying to look up something Undertale related earlier, I accidentally typed undeadtale not once, but fucking TWICE. So Overlord got those nice ecto thighs, would he ever be willing to summon them for an s/o to lay their head on? Like just a cozy evening on the couch, you know?

Overlord would stare at you when you asked about it, blinking slowly. He didn't look annoyed but not really happy either. "You want me to summon my ecto just for you to lay your head on my thighs?" he asks, resting his hand against his hip. When you nod, since yeah, that's exactly what you wanted, he couldn't help but sigh.

"I don't see a problem in that…" He was already wearing shorts to he walks over to the couch and sits down after summoning his ecto. It might seem like he was annoyed by the idea but, funnily enough, he was kinda flattered! He was VERY proud of his ecto and how strong his legs were.

He could crush a watermelon between his thighs! He has before, as well. It was something his Alphys dared him to do and she didn't think he could but, you know, he could.

During the whole time, he would play with your hair, scratching at your scalp lightly.

About your tags: is there more that you can share about the OW fandom and fics? This was a phenomenon I wonder about too. It was one of the most popular fandoms around 2017-2018, but the way the fandom stopped on its tracks around 2019 was hard not to notice. Especially from people who didn't play the game but were aware of it's fandom.

oh! overwatch is one of about 50-ish fandoms i track for this one spreadsheet project i do as a hobby (which i Technically blog about @fandom-data-scientist, but i've been too lazy to do a proper writeup to explain what the hell it is i do), wherein i try to answer the age-old question: when did the weebs move to ao3?

(the answer is late 2015/early 2016. most likely this was in large part a result of undertale and sports anime, but that's currently just my own conjecture)

According To My Research(tm), the overwatch fandom peaked in late 2016/early 2017 when it comes to the number of new fics posted per month. after this, it declined quite rapidly, as it didn't even get to enjoy a plateau period.

(there's a reason why the plots are really wonky towards the end of this graph-- it's bc i found the past dates for number of fics archived to a particular site via the wayback machine. since those snapshots are typically bot crawls, the number of fics shown on the fandoms listings will not include fics that have been archive-locked. although i technically started this project in august 2022, i did not add overwatch to my tracking list until this june/july or so. my current guess for the small uptick in the rate of ow fics published to ao3 in october 2022 is that the sequel came out? and then the rate plunged for january 2023 bc of the ai scraping scare that happened at around that time-- nearly every single fandom i track had a significant drop right then bc everyone was archive-locking their fics. the rate shooting up in like july 2023 on this chart is bc like i said, that's when i added ow to my list of tracked fandoms; because i'm logged into my own ao3 acct when checking these numbers live, i get access to the archive-locked fics and so the display number goes up.)

in my experience, fandoms will generally kind of plateau in their fic production after their peak, which will ofc normally gradually taper off. games that receive regular lore or story updates probably have fairly long or stable plateaus, although i haven't made scatterplots or made any comparing analyses to prove this rigorously. this plateau period generally represents a time of fandom stability as the fair-weather, casual, or migratory slash fans run off to the next big thing.

if we ignore the fact the plague and quarantine happened, we can see a nice, steady, and very consistent plateau period for the danganronpa fandom from about 2018-2020!

let's look at an older fandom, like my archnemesis final fantasy:

granted, the ao3 numbers are kind of all over the place these days, but you kind of get my point by now, right? that healthy fandoms tend to plateau as the wind carries away the faintly-interested and leaves the long-haulers behind to form their communities.

overwatch struck me as unusual when i was on one of my long wayback machine trips because of the way there was a net increase of only two fics published from 1 july 2021 to 1 october 2021, when before then it had usually been in the hundreds or so. i then went on a work tangent n googled around n more or less concluded it had Something to do with some kind of scandal with the development company, but otherwise i don't really have any more comments on it hahaha.

Behemoth was beyond pissed when he first heard that someone was trying to pick fights with his daughter. Puppy was the sweetest person in the world! She was like if every SINGLE bit of sugar was put into a skeleton and fire monster hybrid, then they grew more just to put it into her! She was sweet; she was his little girl! His cupcake. His baby girl... and some random BRAT thought that they were good enough to even talk to her? Let alone bully her? Yeah, no! Behemoth wasn't going to take that crap from anyone. Let alone some punk human kid! If he wouldn't accept that from other monsters, he wouldn't accept that from a HUMAN.

So when he heard that there was someone trying to pick fights, he was rightfully annoyed... until he got there. The two kids were playing together, as if they didn't even remember the fight. Puppy was smacking her doll into the boys doll, while saying, “Bah bah bah! You're dead!” the boy laughs and throws his doll into the air, saying, “Noooo! Bleh, dead.” then lays back and Puppy laughs, jumping on top of him. Huh? He frowns, confused, and turned his head to see the parent sitting over there. It was after school hours so Behemoth knew that that wasn't one of the teachers. He made sure to do checks on the teachers... just in case. Why was he called about his child being in a fight if the children were just playing together? This was not a fight, this was a game.

He slowly walks over to the other parent, his tail swishing slowly behind him, more annoyed than happy but more confused now than annoyed, “Vere vu called apout zee fights too?” the other parent looked up at him, probably having to tilt their head back to see his face. Behemoth WAS 6'11 after all.

Behemoth had ran straight home from work when he heard what happened to change. Of course he didn't want to go there in his uniform! It was gross and messy, at least now he looked a little respectable. The person lets out a sigh, then laughs, nodding in approval, “I was worried too, but it seems as though they don't even remember it.” They look up at him and smile, adding, “I'm Y/n, what's your name?”

Anger was supposed to rush through his bones. Rage from his Puppy being bullied, but none of that came. Instead... his soul felt so warm. It was skipping in his chest and he even feared it being seen through his sweater—even though that was very unlikely since it was pretty dang thick—instead he clicks his teeth together turning his head away, not responding at first. So Puppy was having fun with this boy, that's good, at least and the parent—Y/n—seemed kind.

“Pehemoth. Your poy; did he sdart it or did Buppy? Has zee teacher told vu Hanyzing?” When he got a shake of the head back, he lets out a sigh and sits down, leaning back in the chair ignoring the light creaks from it. It happened just because of his height, even if he did have a 'dad bod' as he heard a few people say in his bakery. What was a dad bod, anyway? He was a father, that was easy to guess! Weren't all dads dad bods? "It zeems as zough, effen if zey had ein fight, zey're getting along now... haffe zey peen blaying long?"

Y/n got a smile on their face and nodded as they said, “Oh, yeah, they have been. Since I got here pretty much... your, ah, child did start a small fire, though. Is that normal?” This time it was Behemoth's turn to laugh. Ah yes, that was very normal! He knew that she had good control over her fire magic, and normally she could control what it burned and what it didn't. It was something that he was very impressed by so he pulls out his wallet and holds it out to them to see, "Ja ja, fery normal. Zee, zis vas zee first time zat sche zet herzelf on fire. Sche has peen like zat zince! I first pelieffed zat sche didn't get Hanyzing from her mozer put look at her now... ja, her mozer is nein longer in zee bicture, put I am zo haby Buppy is healthy. Zee fire von't hurt unless vu schtand in zee middle of it. Plue Hatdacks, Hinteresding, are zey not?"

“Blue attacks?” They asked, then lean over to look at the picture and laugh, “Who is that other skeleton in the background freaking out?” they ask, and he looked at the picture again before snorting and starting to explain that that was his brother. The 'true' owner of the bakery that they have. Behemoth himself handled all of the baking. His brother, the selling. That was why Behemoth normally smelled like sweets... while they spoke the children played until the teacher came in and said both kids got a warning. The parents, luckily, didn't seem to exactly CARE and they started to plan meet ups! Erm... for... for the kids! Of course!
