I tagged everyone but idk why some people's accounts are not showing up😭
"THIS PLACE IT'S BEAUTIFUL" you whispered to yourself, eyes taking in the cave you was in. It's been a day since you was taken to this mysterious place, your ankle already fine from whatever treatment the healers have used.
Harucan had been around you the whole time, bringing up random things to you and showing them.
You also met the healer that treated your ankle, her name was Akna. Akna was gentle and kind with you, making you feel much more at ease with being in this mysterious place yet you was still riddled in fear for your life.
The only source of happiness you did get was the little visits Huracan would give you through out the day, a guard chasing behind him as he reaches towards you and rung his arms around you tightly.
He became even more clingy to you— the woman that saved his life, he wanted to return the favor of you helping him by making your time spent in the cave a bit more interesting so he brought random things he found around the cave and in depths of Talokan to you.
Your ankle felt much better, allowing yoi to walk slowly again which caused Huracan to pull you by the wrist to show you around the cave properly.
The place was indeed beautiful—magical. The blue lights hanging from above , the water that escaped from the cracks gently falling from above.
Huracan points towards a small hut, the roof made out of straw and the walls made of clay. Around the place was weeds that grew from the cracks on the ground— the small hut was surrounded by what looks like objects from the surface world— a scuba diver helmet, a recorder, a fisherman's boot..?
You suppressed a laugh as you thought about the little mermaid— how Ariel would collect anything that was found from the surface world in the ocean.
Huracan tugged at your hand towards the dimly lit hut— wanting to take you inside of it, you was hesitant, scared that you left the place you was at and it would cause the Talokanil King to be upset with you intruding.
"Come!" Huracan insisted, you took a thick gulp and allowed the boy to drag you to the hut, you were about to enter until a hand sudden grasped your unoccupied hand sending a fast chill of fear to spiral down your spine, goosebumps irrupting and covering your skin as you go pale.
" Huracan, why did you bring this surface dweller here?" You heard a gruff voice says from behind you , the grip on your wrist getting a bit tighter as it yanks you away from the young boy as you let's out a shocked gasp.
You turn around slowly, fear radiating off of you to see a Talokanil man, his skin a similar shade to Huracan's. He looked fierce and even more scarier than Namor, a scowl behind his apparatus.
"Attuma! I just wanted to show her my father's paintings." the boy whines out, a pout forming on his face but Attuma's stern expression didn't flutter at the child's attempt to let thr two of you off the hook.
You didn't understand anything the two said but from the Talokanil's tone in voice he was not happy. At all.
Attuma holds you by the arm tightly and pushes you away from the hut, he gently takes Huracan's hand but the boy slips it out of his grasp.
"Huracan.." the Talokanil warrior says in a warning tone but the boy ignores him and ducks under the man's arm to be by your side.
'Why does this kid like me so much?' You thought, your heart beating faster as Attuma sighs and just pushes you forward to walk back to where you was meant to be.
Attuma disliked— no he hated the idea that Namor brought a surface dweller, once again down to their secret kingdom. Attuma pushes you towards the hammock once they reached the place you was meant to be as you falls onto the flimsy cloth that was 'your bed'.
'My arm..' you thought, rubbing it gently as Huracan was pushed away by Attuma to not get closer to you.
How could his king, his Ruler, K'uk'ulkan — so easily trust this surface dweller? Did he not learn from what had happened a few months back with the Wakandians? Even though they had an alliance, Attuma still didn't like this idea— he felt that his home is now at even more threat than it was before and now seeing that you was roaming around freely in their secret home made him even more questionable towards K'uk'ulkan.
With a warning glare towards you—knowing that you won't understand his threat towards you, he walks away— Huracan being dragged with him as you just watched, fully understanding the wordless threat towards you.
'I need to get back home.' You thought, your body laying on the hammock as you curl your legs into your chest, your heartbeating faster that you could infact — be killed at any moment.
    ✧ : - ⭒ - : ✧ : - ⭒ - : ✧
Namor's fingers gently touched the pearls in his hand, a heavy sigh leaves past his lips as he thinks about his late Queen.
She , Huracan and the Talokanils where the most precious things to him yet he had lost one of the things he cherished with his heart and soul. When the queen died, part of his heart also died with her— for him, she was the sun to him.
Her beautiful smile forever etched into his mind as a shaky sigh leaves past his parted lips as he leaves the pearls that had crafted pieces of vibranium threaded with it back down on his table— the last gift he had given to her before she was taken away from him and their son.
"FATHER! " He heard an all too familiar voice call out to him, instantly he was alarmed at the tone of voice Huracan had called for him. His thoughts instantly drifting towards you, his breath hitching at the fact that you may have harmed his son.
He rushed out of the hut, heart beating faster only to find Attuma holding onto the boy's arm tightly, bringing him towards the hut as the boy wails.
A sigh leaves post Namor's lips, feeling revealed that his son is okay but his brows furrow when he sees the way Attuma held him as he raises up his hand towards Attuma, instantly he let go of the child's arm as Huracan ran towards his father to hug his waist.
"Attuma is being mean to me again." The boy sobs into his father's chest as he gently pats his back.
"What happened now, Attuma?" The king asks.
"Huracan tried bringing the surface dweller in this area." Attuma simply says, Namor's eyes slightly widening as he looks down at Huracan.
"My child why did you try and do this? you know we can not trust her fully." Namor states, Huracan's glossy eyes looking up at his father.
Namor himself, does not really know what to do with you. It was a rushed decision to bring you to Talokan to heal you from your wound and you had a panic attack, if he had left you— you would have surely being dead. He wanted to leave you but his son didn't approve of this, insisting that you saved his life and took such great care of him.
He didn't think back than, now he is left with a problem— how is he going to send you back without you opening your mouth? What if you planned all of this, what if you manipulated Huracan?
Namor's trust in the surface world was weak, the only surface people he now trusted were Wakanda.
He had made a grave and foolish mistake yet for his son it was not. He had never seen his son so enthusiastic since the death of his mother.
"I just wanted to show her the paintings you did." Huracan says as Namor's gaze soften.
"Hura.. you know we can't trust the—" no y/n is different, she saved me. You are lying about the people from above." Huracn says defiantly letting go of his father, tears brimming his eyes.
"Hura—""leave me alone!" the boy shouts as Huracan pushes his father hand away from him.
"I'm tired of only being here and believing that all the surface people are bad yet the surface world is not as bad as you said. " Huracan shouts and backs away from his father and Attuma as he rans away before screaming,
"And ice cream is amazing and I hate you for keeping it away from me!" the boy says before diving into the pool, his father sighing, brows furrowing at the child's words as he have heard about this so called desert before.
"This child." the king mumbled out, heart stinging at the word hate  as Huracan had thrown it towards him quite a few times.
"We should get rid of the woman, K'uk'ulkan." Attuma suddenly states, grabbing Namor's attention.
"And how we do that, Attuma? " Namor asks already knowing the answer to his question.
"Killing her." The Talokanil warrior says. Namor's creased his brows , a frown forming on his face. Knowing that if he was to kill you , Huracan would become even more hateful towards him and he didn't want this.
"I can not. Huracan would become hysterical." Namor says, watching as Attuma frowns deeply.
"It's for Huracan's own good. We don't know what's her true motives are, K’uk’ulkan." Attuma says, voice filled with warning. Namor was torn between the safety of his people and his son's fixation with some random surface dweller (you) , he regrets deeply spoiling the young child.
"You spoilt him way too much." Attuma mutters as Namor replies " Let's give her some time, we can't just go about and kill her. If she does anything that goes against us or is a threat than— we will kill her."
Attuma didn't like this decision as he gives K'uk'ulkan a firm nod— the tension between the two strong as Attuma walks away from K'uk'ulkan, his doubt and faith in his leader becoming weaker as he clenched his fist in anger and dismay.

The reckless denial | Agents Of SHIELD Fic
Tumblr media
Setting: Takes place during season 2
Characters mentioned: Skye, Fitzsimmons, Mack, Coulson, Rick Banner, Luna Marsh, Cole Lehnsherr and Liane Felton
Established Pairing: Rick & Luna
Fic type: Blurb
———
—Last said in the last post…
And most importantly, Amelia undergoes an even more shocking turn of events due to shield discovery of alien, inhuman and mutant activity across the country. During an trip to Puerto Rico, one of islands underneath the caves held the rumbling ability to unlock unhinged truths.
While Skye and Tripp were down there, in the mist of the explosive wave that resulted in Skye’s odd transformation, Amelia was effected in the blast getting hurt as she watched Tripp die.
But that wasn’t the only thing that happened…
Amelia woke up on the thick warmly crumbling ground with a splitting headache cause she was throw against a deep wall in the cave. She bleed a bit from the blast, seem to have taken a strong impressionable hit.
She rolled onto her chest, pushing herself to stand up as she winced racing around to the edge to only looked over to notice Tripp’s in crumbling ashes. Dead, as if he was turned to stone then been destroyed within a matter of seconds.
She noticed Skye on standing there, surrounded by dust and rock, as the whole place was rumbling and pillars were falling apart within the cave. She looked at her with fear, confusion, and surreal shock as her fists were uncurling themselves.
Amelia didn’t hesitate to hover a hand over Skye’s back ushering her out of the cave, as she helped lead everyone out of there as safety as possible. The rumbling continued frequently as they all moved along the path then stopped by the women they reached most of the other half of the team.
~~~~
Some time later, everyone returned back to the SHIELD facility, being looked over and being patched up for any damage. Skye was quickly moved into a separate clear room, being watched up machines, scientist and medical staff until further noticed.
She was basically in quarantine for a while, meanwhile everyone else was doing their best to figure out happens next. Everyone was quarantined for a bit to heal and release whatever might’ve been in their system from the swimming blast.
Fitzsimmons were suspicious as they ran tests on her state. They all were suspicious at how Skye was still standing but seemingly hurt.
Her vitals were interesting to say the least, Amelia was more than curious about it as she took recommended Advil for her headaches during the whole situation. Hell, they were grieving Tripp’s death in their own way! She noticed everyone’s cyclone ways of dealing with the aftermath of the storm they were all hit with.
A storm of emotions filled with sadness, anger, anxiety, depression and straight up denial of it all. Trying to forget everything happened but they couldn’t. Hell they were ready to fight one another and throw a few chairs. Skye was shaking and crying at the mere thought because she was the one to see the process of his death, everyone just saw the aftermath. Blaming herself as Amelia and Coulson comforted her, knowing it wasn’t her fault even though it felt like it was to her.
~~~
To keep herself from getting too overwhelmed and wanting to smack someone like Mack or race off to use Hunter as a mini punching bag, she decided to escape to Avengers Tower for a bit due to not being there in a while.
The consuming energy that floated around Amelia as she watched and hung out with friends such Rick, Liane and Luna calmed her down. They asked her what happened but she was under strict orders to not say much of the circumstances to her visit, despite the fact that she wanted to let them know. Assuming it was on the news right now of the rumbling from Puerto Rico and tunnels being collapsed.
Tumblr media
Rick being the more cautious person there, sensed something was off about her energy. He sniffed an underwhelming amount of concern and denial from her but he sensed something more, after hearing about the strong headaches. And the fact that seemed to have not slept in a long period of time. Luna was more than curious about it all and wondered what happened, promising to not tell the others as Amelia pointed to the TV screen and slowly explained how there was a swimming blast that knocked her out cold. She tried to connect the dots.
Liane’s firey personality was suspicious and skeptical of Amelia Parker, wanting to figure out what exactly happened to her physically after hearing the story beats of her tale. She watched her fingers tinker, her eyes narrow as of she was having another headache, almost nervous like Luna. Imitating her impressions and anxiety from curiosity that surged into her veins, as Liane grinned as her and Rick went to talk.
It confused and concerned Amelia as she stayed talking with Luna at how much they felt about the situation. One moment she’s fine and another she’s feeling ticked off due to Rick and Liane’s dispute as Luna kept wanting to ease her mind.
~~~~
It felt like her head was hurting, spinning as she sense the uprising engulfed energetic personalities bounce off from one another. Like she can sense their feelings battling to stay a bay. Amelia thought back to the argument at the SHIELD between Mack, Bobbi, Coulson, May, Hunter and herself as she sensed Skye’s discomfort for a split second, yelling over everyone to cool down separately.
This anxiety written feeling crept up her back, feeling hot and heavy blinking between Luna and the table in the living room. As if her vision went blurry for a moment, like she might pass out. Luna held her up and asked if she was alright, with her own powers she could sense she was freaking out as she called for Rick and Liane for help.
Tumblr media
Luna gasped greatly noticing a flicker in Amelia’s eyes then disappeared just as quickly. She barely saw any color in her eyes.
~~~~
Rick raced in surprise to see Amelia having a anxiety attack, it was rarely a thing to see with her always being just fine, but it concerned him watching her as he tried to help calm her down. It reminded him of himself but less strong but still there something that didn’t match up, sensing a slight denial difference taking in her whole appearance as it clicked. She was effected, traumatized by it all.
Luna moved over to let Amelia have some space to breathe, as she never good at calming others down without getting scared or anxious herself. Especially after seeing what she saw and whispered it into Liane’s ear.
Liane gasped and almost screamed hearing her, noticing some things as Luna did more promptly. The subtle shifts and movements that Amelia made, as she glanced at the girls and back at Rick with almost a glare, sensing the same as him, something was going on.
She quickly calmed down, as her glares soften thinking about Skye for a slip second and the whole fact that Fitzsimmons was suspicious of everything, running test on a couple of people like Mack while she was gone. Her focused returned to the trio because as she zoned out, they were talking among themselves.
~~~
Then she heard it.
Tumblr media
Liane out of curiosity and excitement yelled, “OH MY GOD SHE IS ONE OF US! Another mutant of some kind?!” Luna gasped looking back at her friend questioning how is it possible but she was interested. Rick was the most confused being a man of espionage and science fiction, he wondered the extent of this difference, if it was something semi-permanent or long lasting. But a part of him was intrigued.
But Amelia was recklessly in denial about all of it. The shock, sorrow and questions didn’t wrap around her head, yet. She was a normal human being, an agent of SHIELD and got examined earlier by Fitzsimmons, her vitals were fine.
Suddenly Cole busted through the door and shouted, “Ah ha! I knew something was suspicious was going on the second she wanted into the room!”
Tumblr media
Rick rolled his eyes and snorted as Luna chuckled. Liane smirked. Meanwhile Amelia raised an eyebrow at her best friend, “Your unbelievable sometimes, you know that?”
Cole just grinned.
“Okay Marc what the hell is going on with you? We don't hear from you for weeks and then i track you down to an apartment 200 feet from our house?” Layla questioned in anger. She could understand why Marc wouldn’t have kept too much of a close touch with her, but with Beatrice? Something had to be going on. “Look, i know I'm not an avatar or anything, but you had Beatrice worried sick!”
“Marc-avatar-Beatrice?” Steven stuttered in complete and utter confusion. He had no idea who this woman who had bursted into his apartment was, and now she was scolding him that he had someone who he didn't even know worried sick. “Who-who are you?” He barely managed to ask.
“Who am i? I'm you sister-in-law, Layla El-Faouly!” The woman said as if it was incredulous that he didn't recognize her.
“Sister-in-law? But I'm-I'm not married!” Poor Steven responded frantically.
“I know you aren't. I'm married to your sister!” She said with a small, frustrated glare.
“Sister?!” Now he was officially freaked out. “I don't have a sister! I'm an only child!” Steven said, his voice higher than ever.
“Yes, you do. Beatrice Spector-El-Faouly, my wife.” Layla stated, looking at him weirdly. “Bea? Sekhmet’s avatar? Are you being serious right now, Marc?” She asked.
“Sekhmet’s-what? Look, i don't know who you are, or who this Beatrice is but i promise you i am not her brother! I'm not Marc! I have no idea who that is!” Steven denied helplessly, not knowing what the bloody hell was going on.
I found this draft and decided to post it cause I’m bored and I feel like I haven’t written anything in so long😭
I’ve been dying to see this written for like a year now but I don’t trust myself with the concept so here you go MCU writers; if someone does write this PLEASE tag me!!!
Reader dated Loki (him being part of the Avengers) but he cheated so they split up. After a long while (he realizes he fucked up big time immediately), none other than Bucky fucking Barnes starts pining over reader and surprise! It’s mutual. Loki goes insane and regrets it but has nothing to do but just see reader get treated right every single day! (I’m insane 🤭)
Thank you in advance if anyone works with this! Please lmk if you will <3
Love Is A Dagger (Loki x OFC) - Chapter Four
Tumblr media
Summary: When Loki is apprehended by an organisation called the Time Variance Authority, he didn’t expect to be roped into helping a certain agent hunt an elusive variant that had been terrorising the TVA for years. What he also didn’t expect, was for the variant to apparently be connected to his timeline, to him. He couldn’t have anticipated where this whole venture would lead. The woman from his future, exposing truths about the TVA, and one big branching mess. Sacrifice, grief, anger and love… But which will prevail?
Warnings: ‘Loki’ spoilers
FIC MASTERLIST // PREVIOUS // NEXT (coming soon…)
ABANDONED SETTLEMENT - LAMENTIS-1 - 2077
"Well, isn't this lovely."
Loki said wryly, glancing round at the run-down buildings, mostly metallic shacks and trailers, smoke coming from some of them from meteors crashing into the structures. Ruri rolled her eyes, looking back at Loki as he trailed behind her.
"If I had known we were seeing Lamentis-1's must see sights, I would've brought a camera." Loki continued, hands in his trouser pockets as he let out a sigh. Ruri stopped in her tracks, whirling round to look at the God, eyes narrowed.
"Will you shut up?" She snapped, shaking her head. "Make yourself useful and look for something that looks like it has power and could charge the TemPad." She ordered him, tone holding no room for argument as Loki raised a brow.
"You're not very fun." Loki muttered. "Taking all the joy out of an end of the world experience." He said lowly, tone wry.
Loki was not known for being serious. And it was clearly showing. Even now, when they were stranded on a doomed moon, he was still making comments, trying to get a reaction from the woman. And it was working.
Ruri once more rounded on the God, anger evident on her features. "Apologies if I'm not running around, shouting from the rooftops how 'fun' this all is-" She began, voice raised. "Some of us have to stay focused, we can't all just- Breeze through life and stop to smell the roses-" Her eyes flickered over Loki, his brows raising in surprise at her outburst. "Also I've spent years of my life in these hellholes, so pardon me if I am not exactly being joyous and enthusiastic about possibly dying here."
God, he really is... so... Stupid.
"So, if you'd rather stay here, enjoy the ambience-" She said sarcastically. "Be my guest. Give me the TemPad and I'll get myself off this rock."
Loki lowered his gaze, a sheepish expression appearing on his face at her words. She was right. It was hardly a time to make jokes. Their lives hung on the line, and in a way... It was his fault. He sent them there. And she had lived a good chunk of her life experiencing the horrors of dying worlds, and he had made a joke about their surroundings...
Idiot.
"Okay- Alright-" Loki sighed, moving his hands to his hips, looking back up at her. "You're right." He gave a curt nod. He watched as Ruri's jaw seemed to relax slightly, glare softening. They held each others gazes for a moment longer, before the woman turned round once more, continuing on.
Loki moved to follow, eyes once more scanning the buildings, spotting something glowing in the window of a nearby trailer. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he turned to walk towards it. It was a neon sign. But it had power.
Bingo.
"What about this?" Loki called over his shoulder to Ruri.
Ruri sighed, turning back to see Loki looking at a neon sign, as she realised he was serious.
He thinks that could charge an inter-dimensional time-hopping device?
He wants fun. I'll show him fun.
Ruri quickly moved towards the God, seeing him turn to look at her as she approached, a hopeful glint in his eye. "Maybe." She said lowly, moving up the ramp to get closer to the light. "If we can reroute the power into the TemPad through its intricate wiring system-" She rambled, knowing it would make little to no sense to Loki. "-then maybe it could give us just enough juice to get off this rock." She glanced back at Loki over her shoulder.
"And you thought I was useless?" Loki said with a faint smirk.
"I never said that."
"No, but it was implied."
"I mean..."
"So, we can use it, yes? Reroute the... power through the er- thing-" Loki spoke with his hand, brows furrowed, clearly clueless on what she had just said. Ruri stood back up straight, turning fully to face him as he stood at the bottom of the ramp. Ruri let out a short laugh, making Loki blink in confusion.
"No, you idiot." She said in amusement, smirking, striding back down the ramp. "We cannot charge the TemPad with a nightlight." She raised a brow, tilting her head faintly. "Maybe leave the tech stuff to me, yeah?" She said, tone condescending but playful as she patted his arm patronisingly before walking past him. "You're right. That was fun."
She is so...
Loki closed his eyes, jaw tightening as he let out an exasperating sigh. He looked over to see her walking ahead, shaking his head before following after her. "Very funny." Loki called dryly after her.
"I thought so." Her voice called back cheerfully to him.
"Make you feel better?" Loki asked, raising a brow. "Patronising a God?" Ruri spun round, looking at him as she walked backwards.
"Actually, yes. Yes it did." She mused, smile tugging at her lips. Loki couldn't help but feel his own lips quirk faintly, reluctant amusement entering his blue eyes.
"Well, I'm glad to hear it." Loki shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "Simple minds only seek simple joys I suppose." His voice held a hint of his own condescending tone. Ruri simply shook her head, rolling her eyes playfully before turning back round to look ahead.
Ruri spotted a trailer up ahead, a light seemingly on inside. She narrowed her eyes, beginning to head towards the steps. Her hand swiftly moved to the hilt of her dagger in her holster, gripping it tightly, pulling it from its seethe. She knew people could be... unpredictable when it was the end of the world.
Maybe someone is home.
"Let me do the talking." Ruri told Loki, beginning to ascend the small number of steps. "People tend to not like you when you open your mouth." She commented, a hint of a smirk on her lips. Loki rolled his eyes, following her. As they reached the small platform near the door, Ruri felt a hand grab her arm, stopping her as she turned to look at Loki.
"It could be dangerous." He said lowly, keeping his gaze on hers. "We don't know who is in there and you're not exactly the most charming person-" Ruri let out an exasperated groan. "And you're holding a dagger." Loki added, nodding towards the weapon in her hand, raising a brow.
"I have been on my own for years, dealt with many dangerous people and situations-" Ruri told him lowly, pursing her lips, chin raising slightly in defiance. "I think I can handle it." She gently shoved his hand from her arm, turning away to head to the door.
Loki opened his mouth to say something, hand raised awkwardly in the air, before he glanced down.
This isn't going to go well.
Just as Ruri was moving to knock on the door, Loki peered inside through the grubby window, noticing a photo of an older couple sat on a nearby table. An idea struck.
Time to 'make myself useful'.
Loki's form shimmered into the man from the photo, as Ruri turned at the sound of his magic, instantly looking irritated. "What are you doing?!" She hissed, narrowing her eyes as the door opened. But Loki didn't listen, simply stepping in front of the now open door, making Ruri step back. He could feel her eyes burning holes in the back of his head.
In the doorway stood the woman from the photograph, a large gun-looking weapon in her hand, aimed towards them, eyes narrowed. However, as she saw Loki disguised as someone clearly she knew, her eyes widened.
"Patrice?" The woman's voice asked, surprise clear in her voice. Loki, still as the old man, gave an emotional nod, hands clasped in front of him.
"It's... been a long time." Loki sniffled, playing the part.
Oh, for Gods sake.
Ruri shook her head, a hand moving to rest on her hip, unimpressed at Loki's 'tactical' move. They had no idea who this woman was, who the man he was disguised was, and he was seemingly just hoping he could play it off and get her to trust him.
"You're as beautiful as-" Loki continued, voice soft and weary, but before he could finish his sentence, a blast of energy suddenly knocked him off his feet, his facade shimmering away, sending him flying into the air before landing hard on the gravel below. Ruri couldn't help but let out an amused huff.
I know I keep saying it... but... what an idiot.
"Nice shot." Ruri looked at the woman, nodding, a pleased smirk on her lips.
"Patrice never said anything that nice to me in thirty years." The woman stepped closer to the doorway, her eyes flickering between the pair suspiciously. Ruri instantly took a small step back, holding her hands up slightly placatingly.
"If it's any consolation, I enjoyed that." Ruri said wryly, nodding towards Loki who was just sitting up, grimacing as he ran a hand through his hair. "I may need to get myself one of those." Ruri thought out loud, eyeing the weapon in the woman's hands.
"What do you want?" The woman clearly was not in the mood for idle chat, and Ruri couldn't blame her.
"Right, yes-" Ruri cleared her throat, putting away her dagger. "Is there anything nearby that has power? Like- A lot of power?" She asked, raising her brows. "We need a source that could charge something rather..." She paused, biting her lower lip briefly. "Big." She landed on, sighing.
The woman paused, eyeing Ruri before speaking. "There's a city not far. Shuroo." She told her lowly. "They'll have something. It's got enough power to send the Ark to space, so it'll charge something big." Ruri furrowed her brows, hearing Loki's shoes on the gravel approaching the bottom of the steps, breathing slightly heavier than normal from being winded on impact.
"The Ark?" Ruri asked, tilting her head.
"The evacuation shuttle." The woman said, furrowing her own brows. It was clear the pair weren't from around there. "There's a station on the outskirts of the town-" She nodded towards the direction. "Train goes directly there. But you'll never get a ticket."
Ruri glanced back at Loki, both of their expressions shifting into ones of determination.
"Then we have a train to catch."
Loki cracked his neck, jaw tightening as he held out a pained breath. That blast had caught him off guard. He really thought his plan would work. He heard Ruri snicker beside him, his gaze glancing down at her, eyes narrowed.
"Go on, laugh it up." He huffed, moving to adjust the collar of his jacket. They were heading through the settlement towards the station the woman had mentioned, meteors falling in the distance, quiet booms sounding through the place.
"And you were worried about me." She scoffed, shaking her head in amusement.
"I was not worried." Loki quickly said, brows creasing.
"Uh huh."
"I just wanted to save you the embarrassment-"
"You mean by embarrassing yourself?"
Vexing woman.
Loki sighed, turning his gaze ahead once more, deciding not to respond. He could practically feel the woman's amused smirk.
"Don't be so hard on yourself." Ruri continued, shrugging. "Like I said, you're just a bit rusty-"
"I am not rusty!" Loki huffed, head snapping to look down at her, seeing the pleased look on her face that she had managed to get under his skin. Loki shook his head, pursing his lips. "You're rather annoying. If I do know you in the future, I expect I loathe you." He muttered grumbly, rolling his shoulders to loosen them.
Ruri couldn't help but let out a quiet scoff.
If only you knew.
"Such a strong word." She mused, raising a brow. "Come on, I'm a little bit endearing." She looked up at him, tilting her head. "Just admit it." She paused, smirking. "You find me entertaining at least."
"As entertaining as watching paint dry." Loki quipped back, making Ruri roll her eyes. "I mean, you've pointed my dagger at my throat multiple times, shouted at me, ordered me about, won't tell me who you are to me-" He listed off as Ruri pursed her lips.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it." She waved a hand flippantly. "I'm 'prickly', like you said." She sighed, glancing back at their surroundings, seeing the station in the distance. A few moments of silence passed between them.
Loki's gaze flickered down to the woman walking beside him, quietly observing her, studying her features. There was a lingering sadness in her eyes, despite their usual hardened appearance. He wondered what she was like before she was on the run from the TVA. Whether she was lighter in spirit, not so defensive and angry. He supposed she had hardened over spending time jumping from one apocalyptic world to another. She probably had to.
And she was a magic wielder. That interested him greatly. It was rare for him to come across another who possessed such power. The only other person was his mother. Loki's own expression softened at the memory of Frigga, a flicker of sadness passing over him. He'd never see her again. Not if the TVA was right in that he couldn't return to his timeline.
And if he couldn't return to his timeline... Then he wouldn't know who this Ruri was. Well, at least not in the way she seemingly knew him before all this mess. But there would be time for answers later. Now they had to focus on getting board the train, making it to Shuroo and charging the TemPad.
And overthrowing the Time Keepers, of course.
Hold me tonight, for eternity if you want (Proxima x F!OC)
Tumblr media
a/n: I usually don’t do OCs, but this was a gift for @rebellious-mutant , hope you like it!
__________________________
The girl walked through the halls without really paying attention to anything that was happening around her. The dark, cold corridors of the ship brought her no comfort, and she couldn't even hear the voices of the rest of the black order. She was simply a ghost, wandering aimlessly in a dimension that didn't seem to be hers.
In the distance she could hear Nebula's desperate screams and growls, being dragged into the surgery room, where she would likely suffer another unspeakable torture and probably end up with some other deformity to her body. Usually, Snips would flinch from the screams and try to block out the sound.
She would never admit it out loud, for fear of being next, but a part of her always withered a little each time Nebula was taken away to that horrible place. Her "sister" never walked out the same as she was when she got in.
But this time, the girl didn't even flinch. She just kept walking with a tired but unstoppable step toward a specific place. She didn't seem to register anything at all, too lost in her thoughts. She didn't even notice the tingling at the tips of her fingers.
_________________
Proxima frowned as the lights blinked for the third time in the last two minutes. She knew perfectly well what was causing it, or rather, who. It was no secret to anyone that Snips' powers were unpredictable. The girl possessed impressive electrical abilities, derived from the constant energy that ran through her body at all times. Her physical abilities and fighting skills were also great, earning her a place in Thanos' army.
But she had a huge weakness, one that the titan himself and the rest of the black order had tried to master for as long as the girl had been in their ranks: she was unstable. Despite the apparent control she had, Snips was a natural generator of electricity, there was no way to turn her off, and her emotions affected the effects of her powers, which could end very well, or very, very badly. And the blue-skinned woman doubted this was the first if the girl's reaction on the mission was any indication.
Since she joined the order, Snips had shared missions with Proxima almost entirely. First, it was because Thanos wanted to keep an eye on her, then it was for practical convenience, and finally, because she seemed to be the only one capable of intervening when the girl lost control.
She never knew why or how it happened in the first place, but the young mutant seemed to be impressed with her from the start, growing closer with each mission they shared. Thanos preferred that she spend her time with Nebula and Gamora, but somehow or another, Snips always managed to end up by her side.
Proxima wasn't going to admit it, especially to the rest of the order, but she had grown fond of the girl too, she had gotten used to having her near her almost all the time, and deep down, she was worried. She didn't know exactly what happened on this particular mission, for her it had been normal and routine, but Snips had snapped in the middle of it all.
In a second she was throwing her energy balls at the soldiers who refused to surrender in front of Thanos’ forces, entered one of the cells where the weapon that the titan had sent them for was located, and the next thing the warrior knew was that the whole place was coming down from the energy fields coming out of the mutant's body.
Fortunately, she and the black army managed to react in time, using the explosion to their advantage, but something in Snips' look told her that something serious had happened for the girl to react that way. However, she didn't want to talk about it, saying that everything was under control, so Proxima didn't push and simply took the weapon that the other handed her. Maybe it had been a mistake.
"You should intervene"
The woman jumped and turned to see Ebony looking at her with unconcealed curiosity. She inwardly cursed herself for being caught lost in her thoughts, knowing that the rest of her "siblings" wouldn't appreciate her dawdling when she should be supervising the training.
"I'm busy" she replied dryly, looking back at the arena where Cull and Corvus were fighting each other.
"We both know Cull will win, there's no need to stick around to witness it" Ebony replied, following her gaze "besides, there won't be much to see if that girl ruins the ship's power reserves"
"She can fix them if she does"
"But she won't avoid Thanos' fury, will she?" he smiled darkly "She could be next on the surgery table, and I don't think you'd like that."
"I don't know what you're talking about" Proxima replied, even though her entire body tensed at the thought "Why should I care?"
"Because you have a soft spot for her, just like she has a soft spot for you. And you know as well as I do that Thanos will hold you responsible for modifying her because of it."
She was going to respond when the lights blinked again, this time for a second longer than before, which meant that they were close to turning everything off. A chill ran down her spine. He was right and she knew it, Thanos would not tolerate a failure in his ship just because one of his "daughters" couldn't keep control of her powers. The titan appreciated Snips for her courage and skills, but that was something he had appreciated in Nebula as well, and even so, that hadn't saved the Luphomoid from surgeries.
"You're the only one who can control her" Ebony said, pulling her out of her thoughts "An instability of powers like that is not worthy of a child of Thanos, you better find her before he loses his temper"
Proxima ignored the way he smirked as if the mere thought of the young mutant being tortured gave him immense satisfaction. Deep down, she didn't doubt that was the case, Maw had always had an unhealthy fascination with physical modifications, especially without anesthesia.
"Corvus has to take care of his left side, he needs to eliminate that blind spot" she said casually, turning to leave.
"I'll give him your observation" Ebony said, even though she was already gone.
_________________
Snips didn't flinch when the door to her bedroom opened, when the draft hit her gently, when firm footsteps approached her, or when someone sat down next to her. She just kept staring at the wall in front of her.
"What happened?" Poxima demanded
She knew that her tone probably wouldn't be fully appreciated, but she had tried to talk to the girl after the mission and hadn't been able to get anything out of her with kindness, so a direct approach should be a better option.
"Nothing" Snips replied, without looking at her.
"You've been like this since we got back and the lights are out of control" the older woman scolded "What happened?"
The young mutant shuddered for the first time since the mission, feeling something finally penetrate the iron shell she had tried to erect around her, too bad that something was a cold and annoyed Proxima Midnight.
"I-I...I just-"
She sighed in defeat, hugging her legs tightly against her chest. She wished she could tell her the truth, could explain the horror she had relived in that room, how memories of her stormy past had struck her mercilessly in a matter of seconds. But she couldn't.
Of all the people in Thanos' army, Proxima was the only one she would truly trust with her life. Snips was not stupid, she knew that no other member of the black order thought that she was capable and deserving of her place there, she was too reserved, shy, and volatile, she did not talk to anyone or try to mix with them.
But Proxima was different. She had been the least cold, the only one who had spoken to her when she arrived, despite the fact that no one could say that it had been a warm welcome, but it was enough for Snips, it was what had prompted her to get closer to the woman and develop feelings for her that were most likely off limits. She trusted the blue-haired woman, but there were things she couldn't tell anyone, not even her, and this…this was one of the worst.
"What happened Snips?" Proxima said firmly when she got no response, making the other jump a little.
"I don't want to talk about it" the girl whispered
“The lights-"
"Just stay with me" she cut her off "I promise I'll calm down soon and my powers will stop messing with the lights"
Proxima looked at her for a moment, surprised by her request. She hated the feeling that woke up in her gut for it, but she chose to ignore it. The girl felt pathetic for asking, but the older woman was the closest thing to home she'd ever get, and she really needed some comfort right now.
The warrior finally sighed and pressed closer against Snips, subtly inviting her to rest her head on her shoulder, which the mutant did immediately. Proxima told herself that she was only doing it because of the problem with the lights, that there was nothing more than that, but deep down, she knew that her feelings for the girl were changing. However, that would be a problem for later, at that moment, she only concentrated on holding her as close as possible to her.
Cosmic Cameo
Tumblr media
Requested: Nah
Summary: Cara doesn't remember much of anything before that fall, but what she does remember might come in handy for what will happen next
OR
In which Cara Cassidy falls smack dab in the middle of the MCU and can't help but to get involved.
Warning: None
Blue, that's all there was. Blue of the sky, no blue of the water, the sound of it rushing into her ears, the cold all over her body.
'Why can't I move? Help, I need help. Someone help me! Please!' She screamed even with knowing no one would hear her.
She can't breath the pressure was too much she has to breath, there was no way the she would be able to swim to the surface and holding her breath was only delaying the inevitable.
'1....2....3.' Closing her eyes, taking a deep breath prepared for the liquid to fill lungs but, instead she is met with air. Her eyes snap open.
Blue, that's all there was not blue of the water the sky, the sound of the wind rushing past her head  pushing her hair forward, she was falling.
Stretching her arms forward in a useless attempt to grab something, anything, nothing. Once again knowing your going to die and not being able to do anything about it.
Its coming it had to be. The ground coming closer and closer. What would it feel like? Would it be instant? Better than drowning she figured.
screams of people watching helplessly from the ground grew closer and closer.
'1....2.....3.' Closing her eyes, preparing for the impact, the end.... Nothing.
Blue, That's what she saw, trying to get over the fact that she was seeing  anything at all. Blue eyes of a person standing above her, the sound of footsteps and monitors beeping around the room.
"Hello, ma'am?" The deep voice called. "Can you hear me?" It asked.
All she could do was blink, what else are you supposed to do when you're meant to be dead. Cara thought she should be floating face down in a river somewhere or laid out across the cement.
"Hello?" The voice called again. "Do you need anything? Are you hurt?" It asked.
"What do you mean is she hurt?" Another voice sounded from elsewhere in the room. "You should be asking that crater in the ground."
"Can you tell me your name." The voice called ignoring the previous statement.
"Where am I?" Was the first thing to come from Cara's mouth. Finally able to focus she looks to the man standing in above her.
"You're safe." He replied. " Can you tell me what happened?" He asked.
"When?" She asked confused.
"Before, during or after your fall from the sky." the other voice called.
"Tony." The first man chastised. "Do you feel hurt at all?" He continued.
"No, I'm fine." She replied taking a deep breath.
"My name is Steve Rogers. Can you tell me yours?" He asked.
Steve Rogers? Was this a joke or something? Did she land in the middle of Comic Con or a Cosplay contest or something?
"Funny." She scoffed.
"Ma'am?" He asked confused.
"I said your real fun-." Chris Evans, it was Chris Evans. "Where am I?" Cara asked again.
"Where do you think you are?" The other voice asked. That can't be... Looking over to the source of the noise, Oh My God! It's Robert Downey Jr. "Or Where did you come from? You can answer either." He said walking around behind her back.
"I came from..." Trailing off as her mind went blank. "I'm.... Where am I?" She reverts back to her initial question.
"You're in the the Avenger's Tower." Chris replied. "We found you and brought you here to make sure you were okay."
"That's a nice way of saying making sure she's not a threat." Tony interjected once again.
"Am I on the set?" Cara asked.
"What set?" Chris asked.
"Avengers." She answered.
"Yes, ma'am we are the Avengers," Chris confirmed. "Now we wanted to know if you could tell us how you fell." He asked staring intensely  into her eyes.
What was he talking about, did he think that she thought that the Avengers were real so he was trying to humor her, maybe he though she was crazy, but he brought up Steve Rogers first.
"What did you say your name was again." She asked thinking maybe she had heard wrong.
"Steve Rogers ma'am." He restated.
"And we're in New York aren't we?" She asked. "In the Avengers Tower." She continued.
"Yes." He confirmed.
"You're Steve Rogers," She states before turning her head around finding Robert leaning in a table watching her from afar. "And you're Tony Stark." She pointed out.
"You know me, I'm flattered." Robert says putting his hand over his heart.
"She awake." A new voice emerged into the lab, Mark Ruffalo. "Has she said anything?" He asked.
"Let me guess." Cara replied before any of the other character could. "Dr. Bruce Banner."
"Have we met?" He asked confused as to how this unknown woman knew his name.
"No but its not hard to to figure out." She replied. "So what's going on here, are you guys like methods?" She asked. It was pretty clear either one of two things was happening right now.
1.) She had hit her head walking down the street and some how ended up being found by Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr. in the middle of a rehearsal for the next Avengers movie.
But considering both Steve Roger and Tony Stark are very much unalive.
2.) She had been magically teleported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now she was stuck until she figured out her purpose in order to return home.
But considering that was crazy.
"You know I have a question." Robert says coming closer. "How are you not dead?" He asked causing the woman to give him a confused look.
"Tony." Chris glared.
"No, she fell from the sky and left a her sized hole in the earth." He continued. "And yet here she is talking and breathing."
"Wow if I didn't know any better I'd think you wanted me dead." Cara sassed to the older man.
"Don't take it personally." He replied.
"Kinda hard not to." She rebutted.
"It's just it would be nice to know who or what you are before we unstrap you and sent you off into the world." He informed. Unstrapped? Looking down at her hands for the first time Cara realized she was indeed restrained.
"what the hell?" She muttered pulling in the metal cuffs that appeared to be attached to the chair she was sitting on. "I don't suppose you'd take these off if I asked nicely would you?" She asked smiling up at the smug looking man with the goatee.
"No." He answered,
"I guess were going with option 2." Cara mumbled.
Oh My God! I could save them, I could save Natasha and Loki and Tony if she had time, she could stop the Avengers from breaking up, she could save Killmonger from dying, everyone from getting dusted. But she knew she couldn't do that from here.
"I think there are something we need to discuss before those can come off." Steve states being as calm and collected as he was portrayed in the movies.
"Things like what?" Cara demand growing frustrated with the lack of mobility. "Why you kidnapped me? Why your holding me against my will?" She asked rhetorically.
"Well no," Bruce chimed in fiddling with a pen nervously. "Our line of questioning was going in a different direction."
"North, East, South...?" Cara sassed.
"What are you?" Bruce asked ending the remainder of her sarcastic remark.
"What do you mean?" She asked taken aback by the sudden question.
"What are you?" Tony repeated. "Alien? Asgardian? Angel?"
"I'm human." She stated plainly as it seemed to be the most obvious answer.
"Right," Tony replied crouching down slightly to eye level with the young female. "And regular human appear out of a portal and fall hundreds of feet at a thousand miles per hour and walk away with out a scratch?"
Leaning in closer staring straight into the eyes of the smug looking billionaire.
"You did." She smirked refusing to be the first to look away. From what she had observed from her many rewatching of the MCU was that you never back down first, and while Tony Stark was nothing to scoff at due to his sarcastic nature and witty references he definitely wasn't the most intimidating person she could be in this position with.
"Good point." He sighed out quickly standing back to full height. "Tell you what Icarus, how about once the list of human who have done that extends past you and I, we'll talk about getting those restraints removed." He shrugged turning his back before beginning to tap on some sort of screen.
"Stark now is not the time for your childish games." The Asgardian prince slightly scolded before approaching the restrained young woman. "I am Thor, son of Odin, prince of Asgard and Midgard is under my protection state you business in this realm?"
"..."
"Please?" The god questioned taking of his mask of intimacy with a slightly hint of a smile.
Cara couldn't help but smile back, it was moments like these that she couldn't help but see Thor as a puppy or a child. A 6 foot 6 puppy.
"Thor, son of Odin, prince of Asgard and protector of Midgard. 'Wow that's a mouth full' I have as much business in this realm as the man taking his morning jog through the park or the bird that is probably flying over the city. I'm just trying to live." She pleaded hoping she was pulling off the innocent look she was going for.
"Welp I for one believe lady..." He trailed off into confusion upon realizing he didn't know the name of the young woman currently being held in the room.
"Cara." She assisted.
"Thank you." Thor stated before turning back to his fellow avengers. "Lady Cara."
"Cara huh." Tony questioned. "I would have guessed something more biblical like Castiel or Lucifer."
"I'm not an angel." Cara groaned out shutting her eyes and throwing her head back in frustration. "And even if I was, what's it to you?"
"I'm sorry?" Steve asked.
"What I mean is I haven't done anything wrong, I haven't broken any laws or hurt anyone. You have no right to keep me here." She clarified.
"Look you may not know this but the last time a portal opened up and something came through it spelt bad news for everyone." Natasha spoke for the first time from her place near the exit.
"I think everyone knows about that, what I don't know is what it has to do with me." Cara said through gritted teeth. "I mean no offense but don't you people have better thing to do than to keep me captive? I know I do."
"Things like what?" Clint interjected. "Enslaving the human race?"
"Oh my god!" Cara groaned.
How was she ever going to save everyone strapped to this chair being held captive by the people who she was trying to save.
She had much bigger thing to deal with like Bucky, Thanos, Wanda, Ultron... Oh god how was I gonna stop Ultron, there was no way I could convince Tony Stark that he was wrong about anything yet alone his master plan to save the world. Maybe keeping the scepter away from him altogether.
But no Ultron means no Vision ,and what would no Vision mean for Wanda? I can't even imagine.
"Is there someone else I can talk to?" Cara huffs. "Maybe someone with a better pair of listening ears and a basic value for human right and freedoms. Nick fury perhaps?"
"How do you know who Nick Fury is?" Natasha asked coming to stand closer in an attempt to intimidate.
"I know a lot of things." She shrugged.
"I doubt that. Cause if you knew anything you would know Fury is de-."
"Hiding out after faking his death, yeah I know that too. Natalia." Cara informed holding eye contact with the former Russian spy.
"Who are you." She asked making sure not to waver her gaze.
"I'm Cara." She stated firmly. "And as much as you people want to see me as a enemy I'm an trying to prove myself an ally."
Breaking her eye contact with the red head to meet the eyes of the remaining Avengers in the room, before returning to Natasha.
"And I can prove it if you would just let me out of these restrains." Nodding toward her restricted wrists.
"I'm sorry." Steve replied causing the 24 year old you grow her head back in frustration. "But we can't take that risk."
Cara didn't remember the Avengers being so annoying before, what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty. She needed them to trust her but had no idea how to make that happen , pretty sure the truth would land her in some max security mental hospital.
There has to be a way to blur the truth and she knew just how to do it. No matter what how she got here or what may be different because of it she knew more than anything that these people loved to be right she would just let them think they are.
Taking a deep breath Cara prepared for the worst before saying it.
"Not even for Loki's scepter?" She asked and was not surprised when everyone in the room shifted their full attention to her even Tony who seemed content with ignoring her pleas for release.
"What did you just say?" Clint asked wanting to find the scepter more than anyone after living through the effects of it.
"I know where it is." She tells him before looking around the room. "Look your right. I'm not human or at least I don't know if I am." She sighed in fake sadness.
"What do you mean." Steve asked.
"I mean ever since I can remember I've had these visions. A man falling from a train, a rainbow bridge, a ballet studio, an old man in a cave in the desert." Cara listed significant events in the lives of the heroes standing before her. "I never knew if they were real or if I was just crazy. I swear I have no idea how I came through any portal and I sure a hell don't know how I'm still alive, but what I do know is that I would never try to hurt anyone." Cara finished allowing her eyes to slightly tear up.
There was a collective silence among the group as they all attempted to figure out how this stranger knew so much about them.
"I got it." Tony said breaking the silence. "There is a whole museum dedicated to cap and his old war buddies." Tony explained away your first 'Vision'.
"Anyone can study Norse mythology, Widow over there released all of shields files and my kidnapping is public record at this point but nice try." Tony finished with an unimpressed look on his face. She could feel the other members also start to accept Tony's debunking of her story.
'Damn it, think of something no one else would know something, anything!' She screamed at herself.
"I think that is enough games." Thor said seeming to have changed his previous vote for your innocence. "Your attempt to fool us have gone on long enou-." Stopping once Cara started speaking.
"I've looked forward to this day for as long as you have, your my brother and my friend. Sometimes I am envious, but never doubt that I love you."
"What is that supposed to be?" Tony asked.
"Loki." Thor replied not taking his eyes of the young mortal girl. "Before my coronation on Asgard. My brother said those exact words to me."
"You can't read that in a book." Cara smiled gently, but you can watch it in a deleted scenes video. Honestly Cara was just glad that it actually happened in this world otherwise she would look even more crazy. "So what about letting me go?" She tried again.
"Sorry your gonna have to do better than that." Steve approached arms crossed.
"Loki's Scepter." Cara states. "I can help you find it." She offered.
"How?" Thor asked.
"I've already told you how." She replied. "But you have to promise after I do no more restrains and I'm free to go." She attempted negotiate.
"How about no more retrains and we'll see." Natasha offered.
"How about no more restrains and I'm free to go."
"How about you spend the rest of your life in a super max prison?" The red head countered.
"you know Drakov is still alive right?" Cara asked shock spreading across Natasha and Clint's face before they quickly mask it with a glare. "How about no more restrains and I'm free to go."
"Fine." Steve spoke before the petty argument could continue. "No more restrains and your free to go after we have the scepter?"
"Perfect." Cara smiled nodding towards her arms and legs.
"Tony." Steve states, nothing happened as the billionaire pretends to not have heard the request. "Tony come on."
"What if she's lying?" Tony asked. "We're just gonna let her roam around my lab touching things."
"There are six of us and one of her." Steve pointed out.
after a few moments tony let out a groan before pressing a button causing the straps to retract, stretching her arms and rubbing her wrist Cara takes this time to look around the high tech laboratory.
"So." Tony begins. "Where is it?" He asked raising an eyebrow at the girl.
"Where's what?" Cara asked before Tony took a step towards her. "Okay, Okay fine." She chuckles slightly.
"Hey, I gave you a shot don't make me regret this." Steve reprimands.
"Okay, You would thing at this point in time you people could take a joke." Cara muttered looking towards the ceiling as if searching for something. "Jarvis?" She asked.
"Yes Ma'am?" The A.I. replied.
"Hey Hey you don't talk to Jarvis." Tony scolds. "How do you even know about Jarvis?" He asked.
"I'm not answering this question again." Cara deadpanned. "Jarvis can you bring me up a satellite image of Sovkia?" Cara asked.
"Right away ma'am." He answered projecting a holographic image of the small city inches from the her face causing her to back up a few paces.
"Good thanks now I need you to search the other perimeter of the city for heat signatures." She informs. "Anything moving in formation consistently." She added.
"Here you are ma'am," Javis responds. "This area has shown a consistent path of small heat signatures recorded footage from the satellite shows for about the last three months or so."
"And are there any significant power sources coming from the area near the or inside of the signatures path?" Cara continued.
"Yes, there is an abandoned factory building just inside of the heat signatures path though it is emitting a significant amount of power." Jarvis confirms.
Turning to face the group of super individuals Cara opened her arms up wide.
"Heat signatures are patrols, that building is where you'll find your scepter and a one Baron Strucker as well." Cara informed. "Any questions from the class?" She asked rhetorically, though that didn't stop Bruce from raising his hand.
"Yes, Dr. Banner." Cara called.
"These abilities you say you've had them all your life?" He asked. "And you had no idea about the increased durability of you body? Have you ever given blood? Has there ever been any unexplained anomalies in your D.N.A.? If its possible I'd like to run some tests on your blood and determine the limitations of you body." Bruce rambled on not really giving the girl a chance to answer any of his questions.
"Um....Yes, No, No, and maybe if you buy me dinner first." Cara replied. "But I kinda meant scepter related questions." She clarified.
"So you saying that this building is where the scepter had been the whole time?" Natasha asked.
"Well not the whole time but it is there now." Cara replied. "So am I free to go?"
"After we get the scepter." Steve reminded. "But for now I think this is a pretty solid lead , so we'll hold off on the restrains for now but you can't leave this building. Am I clear?" Steve asked.
"Yes dad." Cara replied sarcastically receiving  a stern look in return. "Fine I will not leave this building."
"Thank you." He replied.
"We need to move on this now before H.Y.D.R.A. gets wind of this and moves locations." Clint says studying the hologram of the building. "Jarvis can you play back the perimeter movements for the last three months and let me know if anything has changed between now and then?" Clint asked.
"The movement seems consistent Agent Barton." He replied.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Natasha asked Clint looking away from the electronic display.
"Yep." He answered. "We land in far wood of the south side looks great." He continued.
"perfect, we shall leave immediately." Thor states walking towards the exit.
"Thor." Steve called stopping the god in his track. "Be need and plan of attack we can't just go in there guns blazing." Steve says.
"How would that be different from all the other times?" Tony asked.
"We can not wait any longer and risk loosing it again." Thor counted. "Lady Cara is an unlikely advantage that may not be around to assist again."
"He's right just because you miss the scepter doesn't mean I was wrong and doesn't mean you can keep me here." Cara agreed. "We have a deal." Cara was all for helping the Avenger but she was not going to be some sort of prisoner she had thing to do people to save just like them.
"I said once the scepter is in our hands." Steve clarified.
"It is in your hands and your letting it slip through your fingers." She rebutted.
"Hate to agree, like really hate to agree with E.T over here." Tony started. "But we have to move on this as soon as possible."
"Still not an alien." Cara added.
"Predator?" He asked.
"Fine," Steve caved. "Two day. And then we move, Is everyone okay with that?" He asked receiving nods all around.
"Great, better rest up Icarus." Tony called to Cara as he heads to the exit.
"For what exactly" Cara asked following him out of the lab and down the hall stopping and waiting at the elevator as who she assumed to be the other Avengers come to a stop behind her.
"For the mission," Tony said stepping into the elevator. "You coming?" He asked noticing no one was following. "This H.Y.D.R.A. base may be legit but you could still be leading us into a trap and if you are I'd like you to be as close to getting shot as possible." He smirked pushing on of the floor buttons.
"And if I'm not, cause I'm telling the truth." Cara insisted. "I'll be an unprepared civilian in an active war zone." Cara pointed out.
"Then you can wait in the jet." He shrugged as the lift came to a stop and the doors opened revealing the living quarters. "Besides I'm sure Widow wouldn't mind slipping in a quick lesson."
"Of course not." Natasha said walking past the curly headed girl patting her on the shoulder.
"yeah, I'd defiantly take you up on that if I was ready to die." Cara replied.
"That might actually be a good idea," Bruce stepped in. "it would be a great way to test your reflexes and pain tolerance."
"Or you could shoot me." Cara suggested. "Yeah I like that idea bet-.." She joked but was cut short as a flash of light flew across the room and hit her in the chest sending her hurdling into a wall.
heads snapped from the girl to the source of the attack only to spot Tony at the bar with the iron glove on one and and a drink in the other. Standing up from the floor Cara looks over her body, nothing seemed broken and nothing hurt.
"What the Hell?" She glared. "You could have killed me." She whispered mostly to herself checking running her hand over the back of her head before checking her palm for any sign of blood.
"Look at that not even a limp? Scratch?" Tony asked putting his glass down. "Is your shirt even slightly singed? Now that's what I call durability."
"I think we got the durability part Stark." Clint said walking over to the girl helping her to the sofa as she assured him she was fine. "She fell three thousand feet." He reminded.
"Just checking," He defended. "Never hurts to check, well it didn't hurt me or her." He pointed out.
"Your lucky I wanna keep you from dying." Cara muttered to herself.
"What?" Tony asked.
"Nothing." Cara sighed. "Nothing at all."
"Anyways," Tony said squinting his eyes. "Let's get you set up with a room and ready for that training." Tony said taking off down the hallway Cara rushing to follow.
"I'm still not doing that." Cara said slowing down as she falls into step with the older man.
Two days that was all, this was good right? It gives her a chance to get her plan together like how was she going to find  Bucky or maybe stop Scott from going into the quantum tunnel and missing five years of his daughter's life. However that was caused by the snap which won't happen if she could figure out how to stop Thanos.
"Here you go," Tony said stopping in front a door typing in a few numbers.
The door slides open revealing a quite luxurious bedroom with  various shades of grey covering the walls and floors.
"I hope this is up to you standards." Tony says following her in. "I mean it's not Asgard, but."
"I'm not from Asgard, Tony." Cara said rolling her eyes.
"Well, goodnight." Tony brushed off turning to leave.
"Goodnight?" Cara asked.
"Oh it's a term we use here on earth, before you go to sleep," Tony informed sarcastically. "and sleep is when us human close our eyes and our bodies recharge for the upcoming day." He finished.
"I know what sleep is." She counted.
"But we're still confused on the term goodnight." Tony pointed out.
"I just didn't realize it was night, I actually have no idea what time it is." Cara suddenly realized.
"The time is currently 11:46pm ma'am." Jarvis' voice flows through the room.
"thanks Jarvis." Tony answered before continuing on his way out. "Make sure to rest up cause there's no way that training with widow isn't happening." He called over his shoulder allowing the door to close behind him.
Looking around, Cara made her way over to the bed allowing her body to fall backwards and letting out a sigh.
'I'M SO SCREWED!" She shouts into the empty room. "when I chose M.C.U. New York over D.C. Gotham I didn't know this was going to happen."
All the things she had needed to do, the death she wanted to prevent. She couldn't even begin to think of a way to get into Wakanda to warn them of Killmonger, or maybe get to Killmonger and talk him out of trying to kill T'challa, Maybe stop King T'chaka from dying and the Avengers from falling apart.
There was no way she could remember all this and what if the changes she made weren't for the best... Would the T.V.A try to stop her?
Writing it down would be a disaster waiting to happen, if anyone found it Avenger or otherwise who knows what could happen.
"I need a shower." She muttered sitting up on the bed, running her hands over her face in frustration.
"I can get the shower prepared for you ma'am." Jarvis replied as running water sound from one of the closed doors in the room. "Do you have a preferred temperature?"
"Warm?" Cara asked.
"Warm water is typically between 110 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit." Jarvis informed.
"Ummm 100." Cara answered with a shrug, all these were problem she could solve tomorrow, for now the only thing on her mind was showering and getting to finally rest her mind.
Backstory
Dimitri "Dima" Belsky never really knew his birth parents. As far as he knows and as far as he cares, he had no family until he was placed in the care of Melina and Alexei when he was five. Natasha was eight and Yelena was three. How he ended up under the thumb of Dreykov and his various nefarious pursuits he has no idea and he doesn't really want to know. The point was, he spent three of his most formative years with this little family unit and he loved them like they were his own.
Dima was a momma's boy growing up - something that follows him into his adult life later - and enjoyed all the time he spent with his sisters. He was a sensitive kid and didn't like being away from his family for too long. So, the separation of the family that one fateful night was as bad as it could possibly be. His mother had been injured and they were separating him from his sisters. Worst of all, his father was doing nothing to stop any of it.
While the girls were taken into their training to become widows, Dimitri was placed into a spy program for training with other young boys. He hated it. He missed his family, missed his sisters and the other boys were so terrible. He was tormented by the adults in charge as well as the other boys, so he did the only thing he could, he got quiet. They wouldn't bother him as much if he gave them less reason to.
He was still trained in espionage and was capable of working through some of his emotions later when he had the ability to have items of his own. He wrote things down because he had no other outlet. No one else has ever seen it or ever will. He was a spy for a while until he found a way out. He faked a death and supported himself by using his only skills. He became a gun for hire. And that's what he does until his sisters come calling.
yeah I'm just gonna keep posting these on main fuck it. they're too unpolished for my fic blog but I gotta put 'em SOMEWHERE
Comfort/Love Languages Bucky/Desmond/Loki mostly inspired by me finally sewing little thumbholes on one of my shirts after a solid 2 decades wanting to but never actually doing it for some reason???
anway
Desmond is very physical, he has to be touching one or both of his partners almost all the time. He’s not quite used to how loud, bright, and distracting the world is, so when he’s out in public with either of his partners, he’ll be glued to their side or he’ll have a deathgrip on their sleeve or something. At home he is pretty much on top of one of them half the time lmao. Like if either Bucky or Loki sit down on the couch/bed/whatever and Des doesn’t have anything to do? He’s just gonna climb on up there - ope, s’cuse me…
Weakness: neck kisses and just a really good hug tbh just come hold him this poor man is t r a u m a t i z e d
Bucky is more focused on acts of service. He’s the one who will get up early as fuck just to make sure he and his partners all have coffee - the amount of times he’s gone out  in shitty weather just because a half-asleep Desmond said he was craving an iced latte from his favorite cafe - is embarrassingly high.
Weakness: That one time Desmond, after noticing Bucky kept pulling all his sleeves down over his hands, handsewed little thumbholes for him on a bunch of his shirts. He almost cried (he definitely cried)
Also the fact that Desmond and Loki have started learning how to make their fancy cafe orders at home, because they felt guilty about “making” him go out all the time
Loki is all about quality time. He’s almost like a cat (well. They all are. But him especially) in that if he likes you, he’ll just….exist around you. A lot. Like a lot a lot. It freaked Bucky out initially - he thought Loki was trying to do something to him or just like….watching him - but Desmond explained it, and had the two of them actually…talk about it. (They’re idiots i stg).Now that they’re all on the same page, it’s pretty uncommon to see one of them alone
Weakness: Whenever Desmond, Buky, or both of them take a day off/set a day aside to spend time with him. If they outright tell him they’re all his, he just about loses his mind. He’s adorable tbh
————
Steve: *under his breath* I don’t wike it.
Natasha: *gasps*
Steve: Nat don’t—
—————
Stella: *at 3am reading* Wow, some few hours earlier some couple just tried to kill each other in their own home. Can you imagine someone ever snapping like that?
Steve: *trying to fall asleep glaring at her* I can.
—————
Steve: If I dislocated John Walker’s arm, would they arrest me despite being the original Captain America?
Stella: Yes. Yes they could.
———
Steve: I’m dying!
Stella: WHAT?
Steve: -of hunger!
Stella: Oh thank heavens.
~~~~~

Tumblr media
Frigg sat alone outside of the conference room in the Avengers Tower. She looked over her shoulder and saw a few visible Avengers—Thor was amongst those that she could see. She swallowed hard, being unable to hear what they were discussing about her fate on Midgard. She saw a few Avengers wave their hands as they spoke–mostly Tony and Stephen going back and forth with two Avengers that had their backs to her. She noticed her uncle peer in her direction, but it was hard to tell if he was actually looking at her or at something in her general direction. The redhead (one of the two that had her back to Frigg) peered over her own shoulder and caught the young girl watching the conference. The Avenger quickly looked away from her and leaned toward the Avenger to her left. The Avenger she whispered to looked over his shoulder at Frigg.
Frigg turned away from the conference room and leaned against the glass wall and slowly slide down. Having to sit and wait to hear her undesired fate was a nightmare, it was boring, she would much rather run away and hide from the Avengers and the ants that inhabit this planet—it wasn’t that it was more fun, it was more so that she would be free from what was to come.
The door to the conference room swung open violently and pulled Frigg from her anxious thoughts. She looked up at the individual that stepped out of the room. Tony Peered down at her and walked past her with nothing to say. He held his head high as if he owned the place (and he did). Stephen was the next person to step out of the conference room.
“Don’t take it personally, he doesn’t play well with others.” Was all Stephen could offer her before he followed the bank account of the Avengers to another room.
Slowly, the Avengers filed out of the conference room and to wherever their next destination was. Thor, Natasha, and Clint were the last three to remain in the conference room. She heard Thor’s booming voice explain something to the two other Avengers, however she couldn’t make out what he was explaining to them. She crossed her arms and closed her eyes for what felt like an eternity (in reality it was probably only 15 minutes). The door swung open, and Thor walked past Frigg without giving her a passing glance. Natasha and Clint walked out of the room and stopped in front of her.
“Hey, kiddo.” Clint knelt down and patted her arm. “Did you bring anything here with you when Heimdal dropped you off?” He asked.
She blinked slowly and looked at Clint. It took her a moment to process what he had asked. She slowly shook her head.
Clint nodded. “How about you and Miss Romanoff here go shop around while I make a phone call, okay?”
Frigg furrowed her eyebrows and looked over at Natasha, who offered a small nod. “I’ll go, but I don’t understand what’s going on.” She spoke.
Clint stood up. “We’re going to find you a home.”
“We’re going to use the Stark Industries business credit card to buy everything you ask for.” Natasha said bluntly.
Frigg ran down the stairs. “Mom? Dad? Have either of you seen my headphones?” She hollered.
Laura stepped out of the kitchen while drying her hands with a towel. “I haven’t seen your headphones. Everyone’s outside if you want to go out and ask them.” She motioned to the door. “While you’re out there, tell them that lunch is just about ready.”
Frigg nodded as she walked toward the front door. “Will do!” She pulled the front door open and pushed the screen door. She peered out of the farmhouse and looked around at the open space before her. She stepped out of the house and walked toward the sound of Nathaniel screaming with joy. “Hey! Mom said lunch is almost ready. On an unrelated note, where are my headphones, Lila?”
“Have you checked my room; I may have barrowed them since someone took mine.” Lila said slowly as she focused on the target in front of her and her father. She exhaled slowly and let the string go on her bow, striking the center of the target.
“Bullseye!” Clint cheered quietly.
“I’ll check your room later, I guess. I didn’t want to barge in, that’s rude.” Frigg crossed her arms. “Boundaries and all. You heathens.”
Lila looked behind her and smiled at Frigg. “You get used to being part of the family.”
“If you’re going to fight, get it out before we eat or hold it in until after.” Clint plucked the bow out of Lila’s hand. “You, go grab your brothers; and you, go tell mom we’re just cleaning up.”
Frigg nodded. “You got it.” She spun on her heel and walked toward the front door; she stomped up the stairs and swung the screen door open. She pushed the door in. “They’re coming, they’ve made a mess of the yard and they want to clean it before they come back in.” She walked straight into the kitchen.
“At least they’re cleaning up this time.” Laura laughed to herself. She silently watched Frigg drag herself through the kitchen. “Are you alright?”
Frigg suddenly perked up, as if to erase any idea that she was anything but alright. “Yes, I’m fine. I’m just a naturally gloomy looking individual. It doesn’t help that my skin practically looks ghostly. I’m also so tired, I mean, my bags have bags!” She faced Laura and pulled the skin on her face downward, showcasing her eyebags (and her eyebags’ bags). “The only thing I have going for me is my brown hair, imagine how much gloomier I’d be if I had black hair.”
“Frigg…” Laura’s voice trailed.
“What?” Frigg locked eyes with Laura.
Laura gave her a small smile. “I have three kids of my own, two of them are teenagers. You’ve lived here for three years and have been a part of this family for the same amount of time. You might not be human, but you’re still a teenager. Nothing gets past me.”
Frigg looked away. “I suppose you’ve got me there. Everything gets past dad… or maybe he’s just really good at playing oblivious, I mean, he is a spy, isn’t he?” She looked back up. She rubbed the palm of her hand. “I still feel a bit weird about everything, you know? I know it’s been three years since I’ve been here and part of the family. It’s all just strange.” She furrowed her eyebrows and grabbed the stack of plates and utensils.
Laura watched her with a sad smile. “I understand.”
She slowly walked toward the dining room table. “I have no doubt. And I couldn’t be more grateful, I’d hate to know what my life would be like had I not been taken here.”
“Go wash your hands!” Clint hollered at his three kids as they ran into the house. He walked into the kitchen, passing Frigg. “What’s going on here?” He noted her expression.
“We’re just having a rare moment.” Laura said, saving Frigg.
“One of those bonding dealios.” Frigg added.
Clint pursed his lips. “Dealios?” He furrowed his eyebrows and glanced over at Frigg as he washed his hands. “This isn’t about what I think it is right? It’s not a female talk, is it?”
“What’s so bad about one of those talks?” Frigg raised an eyebrow.
“Everything.” Clint scoffed. “What’s really going on?”
Frigg inhaled and raised her shoulders. “Opening up emotionally and all that. I just feel weird about everything is all. It’s been a few years and I should be over it; shouldn’t I be?” She circled the table and placed a plate down in each spot; she circled the table a second time and placed the utensils down by each plate.
Clint walked toward her and pulled one of the chairs out and sat down. He motioned to the chair next to him. “I don’t know what you’ve seen or what you really went through, but if it’s as bad as you told me, you’re going to feel weird.”
Frigg sat down next to Clint. “I suppose that makes sense. Oh! If you four are done making messes outside, can I con you into playing Eels and Escalators with me?”
“Eels and Escalators?” He glanced at Laura, hoping she knew what Frigg was asking him to play.
“You know what I’m talking about. It was in an episode of Spongebob, the one where they were swearing. I’ve been saying they need to make that into a real game for literal years. Nat bought it for me the last time I was in New York with her. I’ve already built the escalators and read the instructions; all I need are people to play with.” She grabbed his wrist and shook his arm. “I don’t ask to do much with you, so, please?”
“We’ll look at it after we eat.” Clint said, grabbing a baking sheet piled high with nachos from Laura and placing it next to his plate. “The other kids got lost, more for us?” He dished himself up and immediately grabbed Frigg’s plate from in front of her and dished her up too.
Frigg smiled. “Isn’t that a bit mean?”
Clint nodded. “Yes.”
As if on cue, Lila, Cooper, and Nathaniel ran down the stairs and slide into their seats. Laura placed salsa and queso down on the table and returned to the kitchen to grab drinks for everyone. Clint slipped out of his chair and dashed into the kitchen to help Laura with drinks. Nathaniel reached over the table and started plucking nachos from Clint’s plate and giggled about it.
Frigg smiled and tapped the table to get Nathaniel’s attention. Once she had his attention, she held up one finger and dragged it in the air. Nathaniel quickly became mesmerized with her magic—she dished him up without touching anything.
“Thank you, Frigg!” Nathaniel shouted.
“Awh, did Frigg dish you up buddy?” Clint asked, walking back over with drinks for himself, Nathaniel, and Frigg. “I wanted to do that.”
Nathaniel looked away, refusing to respond.
“He was just sooooo hungry. You were depriving him of his food!” Frigg pointed at Clint with a soggy chip. “He was going to die!”
Cooper nodded. “So am I, pass the dish.” He held his hands out for the sheet pan.
Frigg grabbed the pan and handed him the pan. “Drama queen.”
“You would know.” Cooper snorted.
Frigg nodded. “Of course, I would, I live with him.”
“Frigg, I have a question for you.” Clint interrupted the sibling bickering. “Would you be interested in really learning how to use your powers?”
Frigg raised an eyebrow. “I know how to use them.”
Clint looked down and pursed his lips. He glanced back up at her. “I mean to be a part of the new generation of heroes. We’ve been thinking about training kids like you, kids with potential to be the next Avengers.”
“Oh.”
“No discussing work at the table.” Laura reminded them.

Love Is A Dagger (Loki x OFC) - Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Summary: When Loki is apprehended by an organisation called the Time Variance Authority, he didn’t expect to be roped into helping a certain agent hunt an elusive variant that had been terrorising the TVA for years. What he also didn’t expect, was for the variant to apparently be connected to his timeline, to him. He couldn’t have anticipated where this whole venture would lead. The woman from his future, exposing truths about the TVA, and one big branching mess. Sacrifice, grief, anger and love… But which will prevail?
Warnings: ‘Loki’ spoilers
FIC MASTERLIST // PREVIOUS // NEXT
THE LOCKER ROOM - TIME VARIANCE AUTHORITY - TIME UNKNOWN
Loki stepped through the time door back into the TVA, now wielding his daggers as he surveyed the locker room, seeing no sign of the variant or anyone else for that matter. It was quiet, eerily so.
The variants plan was seems to have worked... It seems everyone is preoccupied...
Loki made haste towards the halls of the TVA, following his instinct to try and locate the variant woman. She was looking for the Time Keepers, so that was his best bet in finding her. As he stepped out into the hall, daggers in his grip defensively, ready to attack if needed, his eyes looked down to see minutemen unconscious on the ground.
She's quick and efficient it seems.
Blades glistening under the lights, he eventually heard some commotion up ahead, wasting no time in striding towards the sounds. It seemed where there was chaos, this variant seemed to follow. Or visa versa. Rounding the corner, he spotted the woman he'd been looking for, swiftly disarming and knocking out the two minutemen who had attempted to stop her.
The woman let out a breath, standing back up straight as she glanced back, seeing the familiar face of Loki looking at her mildly impressed as she let out a irritated sigh.
Of course he followed. Why wouldn't he?
"Haven't you ever heard of 'curiosity killed the cat'?" She quipped, raising a brow as her own dagger stayed tightly in her hand. Loki narrowed his eyes, holding up his daggers, tips of the blades pointing at her, taking a few cautious steps towards her. The woman made no move to lift her own towards him in return... Yet.
"I always prefer to be the cat who got the cream." Loki replied smoothly, tilting his head as he studied her. "A few questions-" He circled her, making her roll her eyes at his theatrics.
"I'm actually a bit busy at the moment, we can have a Q and A session later." She said wryly, eyes following his movements. "After I've found the Time Keepers and killed them." She added lightly, voice holding a dangerous edge.
"And why do you want to kill them if not for power?" Loki inquired, brows furrowing slightly. "My best guess is revenge."
"Revenge is a strong word-" The woman mused. "But, yes." She gave a curt nod, as he continued circling her. "For Gods sake, will you stop that-" She said exasperated, her own brows furrowing. "You're giving me motion sickness."
Loki blinked at the woman's words, taken back by her nonchalance about the whole ordeal. He paused his circling, standing still, but kept his body tense and poised.
"I thought maybe we could work together." Loki continued, raising his brows. "But now I see... You lack vision. Only aiming for vengeance." The woman let out a dramatic groan, rolling her eyes as she shoved past him to head towards the elevator doors, the elevator that would take her to the Time Keepers.
As she shoved past Loki, his hand shot out to grab her arm, dagger still in hand. The woman quickly whirled round, jabbing him in the shoulder to loosen his grip. Next thing they knew, they were in a scuffle.
She will not best me again.
"Get off!" The woman exclaimed as Loki grabbed her wrist, spinning in his grip to try and knee him in the groin, but Loki was quicker, side stepping to make her miss her mark as he flashed a pleased grin.
That's more like it.
As the woman stumbled forwards, Loki brought her arm behind her back, twisting as he pushed her forwards, leaning over her to keep her in place.
"Now, you can either come willingly, or not." Loki said slightly out of breath. "Makes no difference to me."
The woman grit her teeth, letting out a hiss of pain as Loki pulled on her arm. A noise of annoyance left her lips, her boot moving to hook round the back of his calf, pulling, making Loki's brow shoot up in surprise as he stumbled back, fighting to keep balance. The woman used this to her advantage as she straightened up, throwing her head back to hit his chin, making him let out a gasp and loosen his grip on her arm, as well as dropping one of his daggers in the process.
She spun round, lifting her dagger to take a warning swipe, making Loki jump back out of the blades path. "Do one!" The woman said with narrowed eyes, Loki giving her a look of surprise. "Or next time, I won't miss." She warned.
No, I wouldn't actually hurt him. But he doesn't know that.
Loki let out a few heaving breaths, chin aching from her hit, but his eyes flickered to the dagger in her hand, brows furrowing.
Is that...
Loki's hand snapped out, gripping her wrist tightly as he lifted her arm, dagger stopping in front of his face.
That's...
Sea-blue eyes met her deep brown ones, seeing them widen ever so slightly, both of them panting lightly from their scuffle. "I believe that's mine." Loki finally spoke, breaking the tense silence. The woman pursed her lips, lifting her chin. She didn't say anything. "Well?" Loki pressed, brows raising.
Why does she have one of my daggers?
"I didn't pry it from your cold hands if that's what you're worried about." She finally responded, tone a mix of annoyance and wry humour, making Loki narrow his eyes.
"And I'm supposed to trust your word, am I?" His brows creased, confusion and suspicion evident in his tone. "No, you tell me where you got that. Now."
Shit. What do I even say?
She held Loki's scrutinising gaze, his demand she told him echoing in her mind. She could see him trying to put the pieces together, to try and connect the dots... She couldn't tell him. She didn't know how he would react. He was young, still craving power and validation. Sentiment was something he thought was a weakness. Despite her knowing the man under the bravado, the mask, the illusion... He was still not ready.
Nor am I, if I'm completely honest. No. I have to stay focused.
With a grunt, she wrestled her wrist from his grip, shoving him back. He allowed her, but kept his eyes on her intently. She knew he wouldn't let it go.
"We can do this later." She told him lowly, no room for argument in her tone. "Right now, I need to follow through with my plan. So either you step aside and stay out of my way, or you shut up and help me."
Loki seemed to be thinking about it, considering his options, jaw tightening. "I don't want to rush you but we are on a time crunch." She added wryly, making a 'hurry up' gesture with her hands.
"Variants!"
The pair whipped round, seeing Judge Renslayer stood at the end of the small, oak wooded hallway, timestick in hand with two minutemen behind her. Loki tensed, shifting to face the Judge, glancing at the raven-haired woman beside him, seeing her jaw clench, eyes filling with rage. Before he could make a move or say anything, the variant pushed her knee into the back of his, making his leg buckle as he fell to his knee, glaring up at her. But his eyes widened as she once more put her dagg- his dagger to his neck.
What is it with her and putting a blade to my throat at every chance she gets?
"Come any closer and I'll kill him." The woman warned, voice low, the dangerous edge returning, shifting from her exasperated tone from when it was just her and him. The Judge simply raised a brow, smirking.
"Be my guest." Renslayer shrugged, clearly not bothered if either of the pair lived or died. "Although, we both know you're not going to do that."
Interesting.
Loki's brows twitched as he processed the woman's words, sensing the variant holding him hostage falter, the blade drifting from his neck slightly.
So, the Judge seems to know more than she's let on.
Loki seized the opportunity to blindly reach his arm around to the variants holster, searching for the TemPad he had seen her use back in the Roxxcart store.
The woman was barely containing her anger as the Judge dismissed her threat, along with even quipping about how she knew she wouldn't hurt Loki.
Damn woman.
But when she felt Loki's hand suddenly patting at her hip, she tensed, head snapping down to look at him in confusion.
What on earth is he doing?!
Before she realised it, Renslayer was lunging towards them both, timestick activated as she swung. But instead of being erased from time, her and Loki found themselves falling through a time door beneath them, narrowly escaping death. She let out an indignant yelp, limbs waving whilst she fell, suspended in air before finally landing roughly with a 'oof' on her front. Everything went dark for a moment, a wave of nausea hitting her.
A ragged breath left her lips, aches and pains shooting through her body as she opened her eyes, feeling something solid, yet soft, beneath her. "Fucking christ-" She muttered, groaning as she placed a hand on whatever she was sprawled on, hair blocking her face as she felt fabric under her fingers, making her brows crease.
Well, that could've been more graceful.
Loki blinked harshly, looking up at the ceiling of whatever structure they'd landed in. A purple hue filled the place, dark gravel on the ground as crates, shelves and equipment surrounded them.
Some sort of... mining tent?
As his senses slowly returned to him, he became acutely aware of a weight over his chest. Frowning, he lifted his head slightly from the floor, seeing strands of onyx hair sprawled over his chest, a hand resting over his heart. It was the woman. Loki let out a hiss, neck and back aching from the impact of their landing, before taking a moment. Clearing his throat, he raised a brow, seeing the woman slowly moving to raise her head, seemingly also becoming conscious of their position. She glanced up to meet his gaze, eyes a little wider than usual, a soft breath escaping her lips.
"Well, this wasn't exactly how I saw my day going." Loki commented wryly, voice slightly raspy from being winded. However, the woman swiftly narrowed her eyes at him, anger flashing through her features as she pushed herself off him, making Loki wince.
Idiot! Complete and utter... idiot!
Light panting breaths left her lips as her eyes scanned the floor around them, searching for the TemPad. She needed to get back. Finish the plan. He was wasting their- her precious time. Especially now that Renslayer knew she had been there, looking for the Time Keepers.
There!
She spotted the TemPad on the other side of Loki, quickly clambering over him, rather undignified in nature, managing to reach out her hand to try and grasp the device. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her ankle, making her snap her head round to see Loki pulling her back along the gravel.
"Get off me!" She cried, kicking her boot to try and get his firm grip from her ankle, but Loki didn't listen. He swiftly managed to pull her away, getting to his feet, to take a easy step over her body still on the floor. "Don't you dare!" She tried, pointing up at him, watching as he picked up the TemPad, giving a smug smile.
The woman scrambled to her feet, fists clenched at her sides. "Give it to me." She held out one of her hands as Loki scoffed, an errant curl resting on his forehead.
"Didn't anyone teach you to say 'please'?" He goaded, tilting his head.
He really is an ass.
"Didn't anyone teach you to mind your own business?" She quipped in return, anger evident in her tone.
Loki simply let out a brief breathy chuckle, stepping past her as he held the TemPad teasingly in his fingers, waving it mockingly. The woman's face was creased with anger, jaw tight, eyes following him. "Touché." He mused, stopping and turning on his heel to look down at her. "How about this-" He furrowed his brows, feigning a pensive look. "You tell me who you are and why you have my dagger, and you get this-" He waved the TemPad once again. "-little device back." He raised a brow, tilting his head. "A fair trade, don't you think?"
"I hate you." The woman muttered, making Loki's lips twitch upwards faintly.
She's quite amusing.
"That's not an answer."
"How about I shove my boot so far up your-"
"Now, now, there's no need for that."
"Give me the TemPad!"
"Tell me who-"
"Loki!"
The woman suddenly lunged, making to grab the device from his hand, but Loki quickly let a shimmer of green magic fall over the TemPad, sending it to his pocket dimension, out of reach to the woman. He gave a tight smile, looking pleased with himself.
"And that is what I would call a stalemate." Loki quipped, only irritating the woman further. She summoned her magic, fingers glowing purple as Loki's smile dropped slightly.
Oops.
"H-hang on just a second-" Loki held up a placating hand, but before the woman could do anything else, suddenly, a small rock came through the top of the tent, hitting the ground in a small poof of smoke a few feet away from them both. Their heads whipped round to look at it, brows furrowing before they shared a confused look. "Was that you?" Loki asked, making the woman tilt her head, giving him a look that said 'are you serious?'
"Does it look like that was me?" She replied sarcastically, letting her magic dissipate from her fingers. "Clearly, I'm just as confused as you are. And my magic doesn't just summon rocks out of thin air." Loki gave a small shrug.
"How am I supposed to know that?"
LAMENTIS-1 - 2077
The woman sent one last glare at Loki, before moving to pick up her dagger from the ground and heading towards the exit of the tent, shoving the fabric out of the way as she stepped outside, immediately met with the ground beginning to shake. Her eyes scanned the area, seeing large rocks falling and crashing into the ground, gravel flying up with the impacts.
Of course. Of course, he had to pick here.
"You idiot!" She exclaimed, Loki exiting the tent to join her as his eyes immediately were drawn to the sky. "This is Lamentis-1!"
"I don't know what that means!" Loki cried in return, just as a meteor hit close by, making them both have to shield their faces from the flying debris.
"It means if we don't get out of here now, we die!" She shouted over the chaos, turning to him as she held out her hand. "TemPad, now!" Loki seemed to pause, looking down at her, unsure whether to trust her. "Loki!"
"Alright! Alright-" Loki conceded, quickly summoning back the TemPad. The woman wasted no time in snatching it from his hands. "Hey-" She ignored his protest, going to activate the device as another meteor fell close by, making her stumble slightly.
"Uh uh uh, you're outta juice!"
No.
No, no, no- This cannot be happening.
She hit more buttons, shaking the device to try and get it to somehow miraculously work again, letting out a frustrated noise.
Loki watched anxiously as the woman fought with the TemPad, eyes flickering around them, more meteors falling, threatening to crush them. Loki made the quick decision, swiftly grabbing the woman's arm.
"Hitting it isn't going to help!" He shouted over the rocks crashing around them, pulling her with him towards a nearby large mining vehicle. "Come on-"
"This is your fault!" She cried in return, letting him drag her along. They both skidded to a stop, a large boulder landing in front of them as Loki turned his back to the rock, shielding her front from the flying gravel with his back.
"Really? Now?" Loki asked exasperated, before once more pulling her along. "We can play the blame game once we aren't being nearly crushed!"
The pair made, sliding under the large vehicle, panting. The ground continued to shake, the woman clutching the TemPad tightly in her grip.
"Of all the places you could've picked..." She said in disbelief, shaking her head.
She still wants to do this now?!
"I'm sorry, madam, I didn't get a chance to scan the brochure." Loki quipped sarcastically, side glancing at her. The woman suddenly thrust the TemPad against his chest making him let out a noise of shock, looking down in confusion.
"Safer in your pocket dimension." She told him simply.
"What happened to 'give me the TemPad'?" Loki reached to take it from her hands, fingers brushing.
"Well, gives me a bit of incentive to keep you alive then, doesn't it?" She replied wryly, raising a brow. "You get crushed, so does that thing." Loki sent her a glare before sending the TemPad back to the safety of his pocket dimension.
"Charming." He muttered.
Her eyes scanned their surroundings, breaths coming out quick and shallow. They needed to get somewhere more stable, less likely to be crushed.
There! A mining shack.
Now it was her turn to grab Loki's arm, pulling him with her before he got a chance to protest. Once more, they were off, running and swerving falling rocks.
"I don't need to be dragged like some infant!" Loki exclaimed, although made no move to dislodge his arm from her grip.
I forgot how much this man likes to make comments. It's exhausting.
"Yeah? Well stop acting like one and then we'll ta-" Her retort was cut off as Loki stopped, pulling her back, making her back collide with his chest, his free hand moving to her waist instinctively to steady her as another meteor blocked their path a few feet away. She let out a few ragged breaths, feeling Loki's chest heaving against her back. "Don't." She breathed out, already knowing he was about to say something sarcastic.
She missed his smirk, before he took lead once again, pulling them towards the mining shack. "You're so weird." He commented as they got to the door, swinging it open as he ushered her inside.
So, we live to see another day. Or at least... However, long until this apocalypse comes full force.

The Queen's Captain - Chapter 2 (Preview)
1999, Queens, America
Veronica took a step back, eyes darting around in fear and uncertainty as she scanned the dark alley behind her. The silence was oppressive, and it felt like someone was watching her from the shadows. Suddenly, a pair of large hands gripped her arms, pulling her back into the alley with such force that she nearly stumbled. Her heart raced with fear as she struggled against her captor, but he was too strong. She tried to scream, but no sound came out, and he covered her mouth with his hand. She felt her fear escalate as she realized she was completely vulnerable, and there was no one around to help. The thought of what he could do to her sent a chill down her spine, and she felt like she was about to pass out from the sheer terror of it all...and she did.
She took a moment to gather her thoughts. Her heart was pounding, and she could feel the fear rising up within her. She didn't know what was going to happen next, but she knew she had to keep a clear head if she wanted to survive this.
Jae-min's voice shook her out of her thoughts. "They've taken me too," he whispered, his eyes wide with fear. Veronica could see the terror in his eyes, and it made her feel slightly better. They were in this together, and they had to figure out a way to get out.
