Running joke in my "Peter's got pheromone powers/is some weird pheromone creature" universes is people who are familiar with such types of beings on other planets being used to them having a "keeper/claimant" and so many of them just assume Tony is Peter's claimant but really they're not even a couple yet, haven't even revealed their feelings, but everyone who has any familiarity with this concept and sees these two together are just super confident in thinking "ah ok, that's his claimant." Tony and Peter are so perceived.
(There's for sure scenes like this with Mantis and Carol, but this could be a whole big running joke.)

The inclusion of the mother Mary on this thumbnail is so damn funny without the context of Mantis’s comic backstory.

Quick Thoughts on The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
Merry Christmas!
"IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS!"
It's the day after Thanksgiving! That makes it the perfect time to start getting into the Christmas spirit!
Anywho, it's time the MCU begins its fifth phase with The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special! And it was...intensely charming.
What else could one ask for a Christmas Special, really? The bright lights, the warm, fuzzy feelings. It's all that makes Christmas, or this time of year in general, feel special. No matter how you celebrate the holidays, it's safe to say that that feeling of love and kindness we share with everybody is something universal and cherished by all. And this special certainly gives that Christmas spirit a lot better than Hawkeye, which might take place around Christmas time, but is nowhere near a Christmas story.
Also, with this being a James Gunn special featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, there's one major plus this special has: It's funny. Like, it actually felt good to genuinely laugh when watching something in the MCU again and not throw a chuckle out of pity. A part of that is because it primarily stars Drax and Mantis, the two funniest Guardians, as they try to kidnap Kevin Bacon to cheer Peter Quill up. It feels weird that the rest of the Guardians aren't as prevalent in this, aside from contributing a few great jokes, but I'm not complaining too much. I'd watch a whole movie of Drax and Mantis screwing around on Earth if it remained consistently entertaining as it did in this. And the fact that they would kidnap a human being to cheer Quill up helps make this insane scenario feel kind of heartwarming, especially considering why Mantis is doing all of this, which is a big reveal that I'm surprised Marvel would use on a special such as this.
If there's anything to complain about, I guess I wish it was a little longer, if not because I want the rest of the Guardians to have more to do. The special can also be a little cheesy sometimes, but it's a Christmas Special. These things are meant to be cheesy. Still, not a lot of people would be into that, so I might as well point it out for those who aren't into that sort of thing like the Grinches that they are.
As a whole, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is a solid start to Phase Five. It's funny as hell and full of enough Christmas Cheer to fill anybody up with this holiday season. Check it out and have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
(Also, Cosmo better show up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. She's a very good girl, and I love her so much.)

Gamora not ending up with Peter subvert our “soul-mate” expectations. In another life, Peter and Gamora were soulmates. They grew and made each other better and their love was sincere. But that Gamora is gone.
2014!Gamora isn’t Peter’s Gamora. Just because she could find happiness with him doesn’t mean she should. She found love and happiness with other people and we can’t hold it against her.

one of my favorite things about gotg3 was definitely how all the main characters ended up alive. james gunn has already proven he has the nerve to kill them off, but it was amazing how he didn't feel the need to do it just to finish their stories and make fans emotional, as many other directors tend to do. he managed to make the emotion come naturally as we watched it and still comforted with an absolutely beautiful ending for each of them.

The High Evolutionary destroyed an entire planet of innocent people and I am DEVASTATED THAT THEY KILLED THE PRECIOUS BAT FAMILY.
Also I am permanently emotionally devastated from the Rocket flashbacks
