My nine-year-old brother just started watching MCU movies.
Him *while watching Iron Man 2*: Did Tony's father die of old age?
Me *my eyes glassing over with terrible flashbacks of Civil War, Bucky, the terrible fight and falling out of my OTP as my heart breaks into pieces* *whispers slowly*: no.
Him *looks at me with concern and backs off*: ....okay
I DIDN'T HAVE THE HEART TO TELL HIM IM STILL NOT OVER IT LET ME BE

Insisting that there's only one good MCU film can be a much more effective way of winding up MCU fans than insisting that they all suck, but you've gotta pick the right one. If you claim Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the only good MCU film, they'll probably just be like "I disagree, but I can understand how you'd feel that way"; if you insist with a straight face that Thor: The Dark World is the only good MCU film you can get them to write entire essays about how wrong you are.

people seriously pretending EEAAO is overrated suddenly bc it swept awards? it swept awards largely because it is very very very good. I cried like someone who's just had a religious revelation BOTH times I watched it bc it touched something raw and real and beautiful but it was also just very, very funny. everyone's performance kills and the concept is creative and interesting and doesn't distract from the emotional core. you guys are just contrarian.

if you told me there was a mcu movie featuring a cats the musical song, two alien species of the queerest looking people ever, including one that can only communicate through song and dance, mentions of fanfiction, three female superhero leads, only one of whom is white (and she has multiple romantic coded interactions with other women), found family, and iman vellani living her best life?? i absolutely would not believe you. anyway everyone should go see the marvels.

Right now, trolls are trying to hype the directors of Loki 2 and Moon Knight. Both got mixed reviews and sorry but, viewership for Loki fell by over 40% in the second season. Why get them?

Among Wakanda Forever's many MANY achievements is its superb indictment of white feminism. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss' character is the classic superficially "empowered" woman in a high-level corporate job who does nothing to empower any other woman--who in fact only seeks to infiltrate and sustain the same colonial patriarchy that oppresses most of the world for her own benefit. Contrast this with the true feminism of Wakanda and Talokan, where women are not only on equal footing with men, but play an active role in creating and maintaining societies that would have no room for such backwards notions as misogyny in the first place. Wakanda Forever is a masterpiece.
