what i believe different romance languages taste like

Spanish: Mango Ice Cream. idk, the vowels and the way you pronounce stuff is very upbeat and smiley and stuff, plus most spanish speakers talk super duper fast and im holding on for dear life trying to listen and silmontaniuosly translate in my head. plus spain is warm.

French: Strepsils specifically lemon ones, i only did french for a year in school and hated it. dont get me wrong the language is pretty but you have to like pronounce stuff out of your nose and all(?), so the weird feeling and aftertaste in your mouth after a throat sweet is just fitting

Portuguese: Watermelon its fitting. sometimes watermelon's sweet and juicy other times its anemic and really watery. just like how portuguese sounds super cool put people water it down as just another version of spanish. Plus it's such a summery language if that makes sense, like it just sounds bright but it feels earthy, so maybe a watermelon with dirt on it or smthn, idk it sounds a lil crunchy but still bright yk

Italian: Winegums Italian's got this sophisticated edge to it, especially with the music + art history in Italy. It feels like the head of the (i think its called 'the romance language) family. Wine gums are good, they're still kinda sweet and fun to suck on when you've got fuck all else to do or your ears have popped cus you're in an aeroplane, but they still taste mature if that makes sense. it's not a go to, but it's a staple, and your granny probably has it in her handbag or in her car as a travel sweet.

Romanian: Werthers Original Butter Candies they're sweet and smooth and kinda melt on your tongue, which is what Romanian sounds like to me yk. but they also feel mature and it's got this kinda feel to it that Spanish or Catalan doesnt have where it's slightly sharper in the way you pronounce words and stuff, but still soft enough. Romanians a unique language, (all languages are unique but oh well), its not sought out by learners like Spanish or French but its still a staple, which is why werthers fits.

Catalan: Passion Fruit Margarita i'm not explaining myself on this one.

i might continue this with other indo-european languages, though idk if i want to do baltic, slavic, germanic or celtic next🧍

I finally read again today, chapters 34-39 this time

Usually I read these books in german while on the bus but today I forgot my book, but fortunately, I had some time to go to the library and they had it, but only in english. And since I was sitting at a table with my phone, I was able to take notes live as I read, and I'd like to share those with you rather than doing what I usually do and trying to sum up all of my thoughts a few hours later

Chapter 35:

the fact that NO ONE in the summer court recognized Feyre is absolutely ridiculous, it really is like her accomplishments from the first just vanished, no wonder so many people recommend just skipping ahead to MAF i bet that would make the reading experience wayyyyy less frustrating

shes cursing herself from being so out of shape despite Cassian's 'lessons' and that reminds me, at the start of ACOMAF her internal monologue and other characters kept remarking on how thin and frail she had become and I dont think its come up since she started staying at the NC permanently, great mental health rep girlie

"I let instinct, no doubt granted from Rhys, guide me forward." Come onnnnnnnn, can Feyre not be cool on her own for one (1) moment

"Amarathan did not break that kindness [from before UTM]." no, but Rhys sure did

Once again, Feyre is horrified at her violating Tarquin's mind, rightfully so, and yet she continues to hang out with His Majesty, The King of Violating Minds

Rhys tells Feyre that she "thinks like an Illyrian", which is very strange to me given that Illyrian women are literally not allowed to do anything other than housework and Illyrian men are seemingly all violent misogynists whom Rhys hates

Chapter 36:

"I'd bet they wouldn't have handed over that book" but you didnt ask them though??? Like, they couldve just told Tarquin about their plans, he seems reasonable enough, even if Cresseida and Varian dont agree, he as high lord should be able to override their opinions easily and if that doesnt work out THEN you can go ahead and steal it. Sure, maybe they wouldve trippled security and/or thrown them out of the SC but that should hardly be an obstacle for The Most Powerful Highlord In The History Of Prythian and his eldritch girl best friend

Okay, so Rhysand did pack illyrian leathers for her which is nice, but still, I see no reason why Feyre had to wear dresses for this (and be okay with wearkng dresses when she absolutely wasnt at the start of ACOMAF) when the NC clearly has more feminine fashion involving pants

Theres lead in this vaguely medieval fantasy world?? And theyve had for like centuries?? That seems weird to me I'll have to look into that i think

Okay, so Feyre shapeshifted into Tarquin and she says that she didnt let any part of herself that wasnt Tarquin shine through while she opened the books locks, but those shapeshifting powers are Tamlin's though. That has some very interesting implications but tbh idk if I trust sjm to have thought about it that much

"I am summer; I am sea and sun and green things" that just sounds kinda silly, also I feel like it shouldve been "I am sea and sun and golden sand" given the beach vibes that the Summer Court has

Chapter 37:

note to self: lookup what Leshon Hakodesh is exactly bc theres no way its not some random mythological term that sjm is just dropping into her world [edit: its just the jewish term for 'the Holy Tongue', im not gonna question the implications of that any more than im gonna question the existence of Nyx as a minor goddess or something in this world]

Rhysand doesnt tells anyone jackshit and Cassian is ready to stab Amren if she dares go against him, why are these jokers friends again?

Chapter 38:

granted, its been a while since I read this book and my memory isnt the best, but why exactly does Rhysand need to keep the 'why' of their mission secret? wasnt their mission just to find the cauldron before Hybern does and prevent a war with prythian and the human world?? I guess maybe Rhys doesnt wanna reveal his secret goodness or whatever, but he couldve just had Feyre act as some kind of emissary to the rest of Prythian, like, just have her pretend this is information she found out by herself at the Night Court and have her relay it to the other courts, Feyre has saved them before they have no reason not to listen to her

"'I think Tarquin wanted to be my friend.'" question, is Tarquin/Rhys a thing? Obviously Rhys doesnt deserve Tarquin but idk, there could be something there I think. they have some nice aesthetic contrasts

why would Feyre say stuff like "mother above" when thats not a deity she believed in for most of her life? Like, I already talked about how Feyre clearly had the impulse to pray in ACOTAR she just didnt do it because the names of the mortal gods have been long forgotten, but idk, I feel like her starting to embrace fae religion warrants more exploration. and fae religion in general warrants more exploration tbh

I keep saying this, its so infuriating how well Feyre and Rhysand already get along when theyve spent like, 2 or maybe 3 months if Im being very generous, worth of time together aside from their time UTM

I think out of all the inner circle relationships, I like Amren and Feyre the best so far and I absolutely do not believe that Cassian cares about Amren at all, much less sees her as family, that guy would kill her in a heartbeat if he could

forgive my aromanticness, but I really dont like the thing that Amren and Varian have going on, cant there be ONE character that doesnt have some stupid romance subplot in this world

Oh, so Mor telling Feyre very little of any specific plans they have is fine, but if someone from the spring court does it theyre the worst person ever

"[Cassian told me] that my family was full of bossy, know-it-all females" oh but hes sooooo much better than all those other illyrians who are all sexist brutes

"what is the darkness in johan's heart" scene, AFTER IT WAS ESTABLISHED EVERYONE, EVERY STUDENT INCLUDING MANJOUME SHO ASUKA O'BRIEN ETCETC has darkness in their hearts,

my ex goes "if they reveal that he has no darkness in his heart because hes such a special boy im going to be so fucking mad because hes already a mary sue" (HER WORDS NOT MINE she was so mad about johan its funny.) AND THEN THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO

like he is literally too perfect. his only flaw is his one (1) time thing about getting lost which is never really brought up again (also its more of an endearing haha funny thing and yes i like it i have a shirt referencing that scene.) and the fact that.. he gets taken over i guess.

i do think the switch around where they bamboozle fujiwara is really funny. it is a funny scene i just wish they literally didn't do it at the cost of "johan is a perfect person without any mental weaknesses when literally every single other character has some flaws" I DONT GET IT!!!

of course all my criticism of totk still applies but im feeling less depressed about it, tho i will say its honestly kinda baffling how many times the game actually got me interested and excited about stuff and then just kinda drops it in a dead end, of course they were those kind of things in botw as well but it seems much less .. balanced in totk

(not even just the big things like making me want to actively do something to help zelda turn back when it just gets solved on its own in the end, but also some lil things like the fact that so many NPCs tell you about that newly discovered animal species and when you find the dongos they are just gem vending maschines)

in the end i can say, no, i dont like totk, tho i still love the graphics and the way the world is made ( botw showed me jsut how immersive and alive a world can feel i love it to death), i liked the gameplay and that it kept the freedom botw had established, the bossfights are mostly fun (tho i wish you could refight more of them), i LOVE the yiga and im glad they got more of a spotlight, the music is FANTASTIC i keep catching myself humming along, alot of the sidequests are much bigger and feel like you are actually doing something, i like how the sages are a bit more integrated into the story, the majority of the new designs are great, both the japanese and german voice acting is great, and the end fight has some of the best build up i have ever experienced, my heart starts to race when that music build up starts even tho i have beaten it 3 times already-

however, the story is both simple and incredible flat with lots of stuff that doesnt make sense especially when it was said to be a sequel, the zonau should have stayed a mystery imo, they failed to make me care about them even a little bit and often felt forcefully crammed into the world and its history, i think you could have told an incredible story taking place in the present and leave the past be the past, you easily could have connected botw and totk in a much better way than they did, i dont like how it changes aspects about botw all the while nigh ignoring it ever happened, it still feels like it was trying to be a replacement and not a sequel and all the referencing and callbacks to the old titles may have been done in good faith but that and including time travel yet again ultimately lead to people ripping each other to shreds over trying to prove its placed in the old timeline despite it making no sense at all and confusing people even more; often when the game made me care or be excited about something it was dropped in a dead end, there was a ton of missed opportunities and lost potential to tell a much more nuanced and interesting story/lore, and thinking about it only makes me sad for the things that could have been

overall i think my disappointment is outweighing my fun and the only way i can keep playing it while having fun is ignoring everything that isnt, which works quite well most of the time since im pretty much done with all story stuff but i keep slipping into my little rants nonetheless; i will say its making me a little worried about the future of the franchise, but i know im in the minority and maybe i will just have to accept that the new stuff wont be for me anymore and i should not hope for anything that interests me xD

except for some meme material or specific characters i love i dont think i will make much use of anything totk tried to establish, and i hope thats fine with the lot of you (<3) hopefully that also means my ranting days are over xD

anyway, back to making niche art i go! (sorry for making you endure these long ass rambling posts :,) )

puffy sometimes grows a beard because sheep genetics and niki thinks its very cute albiet a bit scratchy

puffy bleets when shes surprised and niki will switch to german when shes angry or tired, they find eachother extremely adorable

nikis love language is words of affirmation and puffys love language is quality time

in my head, the dsmp ended with clingyduo successfully killing drm forever, and niki finds puffy before all the egg stuff and everything gets resolved yayy happy ending anyway

niki gets seasick sometimes but she has a hell of a voice for shanties and loves the view (her girlfriend working on the deck in just a t shirt because its hot out)

puffy has a very high alcohol tolerance because shes a pirate whilst niki has a very low tolerance because she hasnt built it up yet

niki will drunkenly switch to german sometimes and puffy only knows a few words (shes learning) and gets very confused

nikis birthday is today (august 6th and no not the ccs) and she didnt expect anyone to show up except puffy and maybe jack but puffy made SURE many people showed up (quackity and wilbur are banned from her birthday party this year after the 2020 fiasco)

the syndicate came, all with different presents, some of phils crows have picked up shiny things for niki and put those things on the presents table

clingyduo, jack, fundy, and hbomb show up as well

they all play games like jackbox and amongus and then niki opens her gifts and everyone has an amazing time

puffy gifts niki some weighted blankets to make sleeping easier, but the biggest gift comes in the form of a new cottage right above her city in the flower fields, so she can always retreat to the cave and work on the city, but she always has a home aboveground as well, niki absolutely adores it and when she feels ready, theres a huge kitchen space for her to start baking

puffy moves in later :)

it also came insured (aka if anyone fucked with it they would take all 3 canon lives, they gave a side eye to tommy who just whistled and acted like he didnt notice it)

puffy constantly gives forehead kisses because niki is small, niki will sometimes grab a horn, pull her down, and get her back with a kiss on the cheek in return

they are both huge blushers they will turn tomato red at any affection ever

niki stays up sometimes to make sure puffy gets to sleep okay (paranoia makes it hard) but when puffy wakes up she will stay up for a few mins to make sure niki is sleeping okay (night terror having gfs <\3)

Personality:

Gemini infp, 6w5. Im usually more shy and anxious when i first meet someone or am in a new environment, but get pretty enthusiastic and talkative once i get to know someone. Im autistic, so i can get sensory overload or just overwhelmed, and sometimes this can lead me to get panic attacks or become nonverbal. This also means that certain topics can lead me to talk for like hours, even with strangers. A/N - This is part 2 everyone. Actually there is probably not many people reading this fanfic but I will still write it cuz its fun🩷🩷

TW - Drinking, Kissing

IZUKU POV

Patrol has me weared out. I come home to see my german shepherd, Mighty, laying on her little tent i put up near the living room couch. She looked up to see me, and ran up to me. “Hey big girl, I missed you” I cooed. I adopted her when I was 19. I was in my “rebel” era and I wanted a dog and I thought that german shepherds were badass. I don’t know, don’t ask me, but I am glad that I picked her. She is a rescue dog and I train with her everyday. Of course, I dont make her lift, we play games that are fun for her and increase her strength in different ways. I walk up to my third floor to head to my home office and start to work on paper work while Mighty is laying on my lap.

It is now Saturday and the pro heroes are doing the hangout at my house. I do not really mind, I just hope they don’t cause too much of a ruckus. My neighbors are pretty grumpy so they will bang my door down just to say the music is too loud. Once I finished with preparing all the liquor bottles and set up the snacks, the first people to barge in were obviously Kirishima and Mina. Those two have been dating ever since their kissing situation that last party. Mighty, who is scared of crowds, ran upstairs knowing more people are going to come. More and more people come in every minute, and then the last pair I thought were going to come was Todoroki and his new girlfriend, Rina. They come up to me to say hi and I greet them as my guests. “You know Izuku, Mina asked me if any of my friends would like to participate in the next hangout and I ask my best friend, Y/N, if she would like to come and she was down to it. I hope you don’t mind.” Rina says. I was kind of taken back as a random stranger was going to be participating in a party full of pro heroes, which she could totally take advantage of. But, Rina is a very trustworthy person so, I will go with it. “Sure! Im okay with it.” Even though I was concerned, maybe this girl would be fun.

Some time passes by and Rina’s friend just came in, and when I tell you my jaw dropped, Kachann had to put it back to its place. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress with accessories that matched her skin tone, and she had glossy lips with with eyes that I could write pages and pages on.

Y/N POV

I look around to see a bunch of pro heroes in a room, all drunk, dancing to the music blasting on the speakers. I look around and see a familiar tall greenette, Mr. Deku himself. I smile at him as I caught staring and sent a little wave. He smirks back and starts to wave. I might be acting cool right now but… IM FUCKING FREAKING OUT OMGGG DID I JUST WAVE AT THE DEKU?! OMG AND HE WAVED BACK! HE NOTICED MY PRESENCE?! Im about to faint but no, I have to stay cool. I fix my dress and walk in the living room to see Rina and Pinky talking and Rina turns to look at me as I walk in the room. She motions me to come to her, so I do as I am told. “Y/N! This is Mina well you know her as Pinky but her name is Mina. Anyway, GURL DID YOU SEE DEKU YET? OMG MINA YOU KNOW SHE HAS THIS HUGEEEE CRUSH ON D-“ “UHM OKAYYY LETS STOP RIGHT THERE MINA ITWASVERYNICETOMEETYOUBUTMEANDRINAHAVESTUFFTHATWENEEDTODOWEWILLTALKTOYOULATEROKAYBYEE” I practically blurt out. I have never talked that fast in my life and never plan to do it again. “Rina! Are you crazy? She can just go up to Deku saying oh! You know that girl, Y/N, has a huge crush on you? And you know what will happen then?” “…what?” “HE WILL THINK IM SOME KIND OF CRAZY FAN WHO WANTS TO GET WITH HIM! I JUST ACTED COOL IN FRONT OF HIM PLEASE DO NOT EMBARRASS ME” Rina looks taken back from my screaming, but nods while saying “Im sorry, I shouldn’t have tried telling her that. Im just realllllyyyyy drunk right now so it kinda blurted out of me naturally.” “It’s alright, I get it. Now, can you tell me where the dirty martini’s are?” I ask. Oh how much I am gonna drink from that shit.

A few hours later, most of the people are in the ping pong room to play beer-pong. The only people in the living room who aren’t playing are Me, Froppy, Tenya, Uravity, Earphone Jack, and..Deku. Im sitting on the couch, bored. I should go up to Froppy and try to start a conversation. Who knows, maybe we can become friends.

IZUKU POV

I see her getting up from the couch and walking towards Asui, perhaps to start a conversation. I drink another sip from my beer, completely drunk. I stare at Y/N while she’s talking to Asui, can’t help but smirk. She is so beautiful, I have never seen a woman like her before. Her gorgeous H/C hair swaying in the direction she turns her head to, her blue dress that motions from side to side, her smile, her face, her eyes..oh those eyes. I could write pages and pages about them. The way they glisten when she is happy, the shine that is so bright, it could make me go blind. She is amazing. To get with a girl like her, you’ll need a lot of luck. I feel dizzy from all this beer and whiskey, so I walk to the back door and enter the backyard’s large garden.

THIRD PERSON

After an hour of drinking and partying, Y/N feels a little doozy. She feels as if she is about to pass out. “Hey Tsu, I need to go outside. Does this place have a backyard or something?” She asks. “Oh yeah, there is! There is a back door in the living room. It leads to Izuku’s backyard garden! He keeps a lot of gorgeous plants there, Im sure that is the best place in the house to go and chill.” She answers. Feeling drunk, Y/N tries her best to at least waddle to the backdoor. As she opens, a great, big beautiful garden fills her eyes. The beauty of the flowers and the greeness of the trees is enough to make your heart flutter. She slowly walks deeper into the garden to find not a tree, but a green headed male, sitting on a bench and watching the moon. He looks in the direction of Y/N, gives her a smile, and motions her to come sit next to him. She listens, and walks towards the bench and sits down next to him. “You know, this garden of yours is very beautiful. I could stare at it forever and never get bored.” Y/N says. She smiles as she watches the moon and the bright stars. Izuku looks at her, “Thank you. I love it as much as you do. I take care of it every morning before I go to work. Its more of a daily hobby I picked up.” He states, while still staring at her smiling, happy face. “Y/N, I have to say something.” He says almost like its going to be a confession. “Uh huh what is it?” She says, still staring at the moon. “Y/N, look at me.” She looks at him, confused on why he is so serious now. “Ever since you walked in that door, I have been laying eyes on you and its driving me crazy. You drive me crazy. You look amazing in that dress, and everything about you is gorgeous. I just wanted to tell you that, I really like you. Of course, I haven’t really gotten to know you better so-“ He gets cut off as a his lips are connected to another set. The kiss was started slowly as he kisses back, it was a passionate kiss. His hands wandered while her hands were hugging his cheeks. As their lips part, he says, “As I was saying before I got interrupted, I haven’t gotten to know you better so, I was hoping we could introduce ourselves and start from the top again.”. With a smile on his face, he said, “My name is Izuku, as you know, Im the number one hero. Whats your name?”

I dont think ive mentioned this at any point but Im actually really obsessed elisabeth but I cant engage with it at all or even think too hard about it without feeling like Im gonna start biting people. like, ive been making a lot of tanz der vampire posts and whenever one of my original posts gets interacted with I go and check the account because Im a freak like that and surprise surprise, people who like that musical also often like elisabeth, theres one account in particular who might even recognize me because its a fairly small fandom, and whenever I look at their account Ive always completely forgotten that they post a lot about elisabeth and I get jumpscared and have to very quickly click away as my heartrate inexplicably spikes for a second. And it really sucks because one time one of the posts I got jumpscared by was this one that pointed out how deaths carriage was also rudolfs bed and I hadnt noticed that and its really neat and I would love to see more posts like that about what is basically my favorite musical ever but I cant. look at them

I think the reason my brain is so weird about letting me enjoy it is that it is rpf and also german in origin. or well its from austria but you know what I mean. And i dont know why because its not like hamilton where all the songs slap but its weirdly patriotic so i dont really wanna watch it in full ever again, not only do all the songs in elisabeth slap but its also not patriotic as a whole, like thats the reason i was able to listen to it almost every day while taking the bus to school for about three months, i couldnt do that if it was weirdly patriotic yknow. Speaking of me listening to the soundtrack almost everday for three months, whenever I would do that I would imagine these elaborate and usually very romantic animatics in my head and thats perfectly fine but god forbid i wanna read a fanfic thats just a non-musical prose version of Die Schatten Werden Länger (Reprise) because like, no offense but what other kind of fanfic could you possibly write about this musical. I'd rather not tell you my real name if I'm being honest. With the whole digital footprint and doxxing and all. I'll have to think of a username I'd like. What do you think of something with bubbles (even tho that does sound like a bunny name) or boykiller (that'll start an argument probably with all the boys that think theyre undeserving of being killed) orrr smth with silent (i like that but what? maybe silent bookworm but then again that sounds kind of weird) well... I'll think of something. For now I'll just sign with "unknown" that'll be okay.

I CAN tell you that i am a female human (i am at that point in life where you dont know if you should call me a girl or a woman).

I turned 16 in august. I'm really lucky that my birthday's in august, because its always warm and its ALWAYS in summer break at least where I'm from. We have the whole august summer break. I LOVE IT.

I WAS born in germany and both my parents are german so no english roots what-so-ever (well in the near past) but when covid started back in the beginning of 2020 and school had to stop for a while, while they had to figure out what to to do with the whole pandamic and all so my mom suggested I'd start watching my shows and films in english to learn better english so I did that and it's degenerated a little bit into reading English books. BUT i have to thank my mom for getting the ball rolling.

Im bisexual, meaning I like girls AND boys (figured THAT out finally when i was 13) and if you have anything mean to say about it to me I'll cry (especially when you start talking about the connection between being gay and god - when you say bad things because nobody can say good things about THAT relationship)

and i should probably put "going to the gym" on that list too, but I kind of dropped the ball on that one...

My first book I remember really LOVING that really got me into reading (when i was 9) was (and now this is going to be german so just ignore it if you dont know it) "Alea Aquarius" and I read it now too sometimes. Even though its a childrens book, it became a comfort book too, thinking of all the good times I had as a child especially reading (not just that book but in general). Even young it became an escape from the world (even without screaming parents).

I usually read everything, depending on what people recommend me. But I do have genres I read more than others. Romance, Fantasy and Crime are my favourites even tho romance is getting predictable. MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE TROPE tho is unreliable narrator. It is THE best!! The genre I read the least tho is non-fiction. I just need books that transport me into a new (often better and more interesting) world. Classics too are a genre I dont really read. Doesnt mean i havent read a classic and also doesnt mean i dont own some it just means that reading classics in english as a german person is really not that easy...so i dont OR i buy the book in german too. I did that for pride and prejudice (that i bought solely because it was mentioned A LOT in a random wattpad book hehe) and I love it now and own three copies (2 german, 1 english).

I dont read my fanfiction on wattpad anymore either. Ive transferred to ao3 instead. If you dont know the platform, you ABSOLUTELY should. Its amazing what people can write and how EASILY a book can be longer than the bible is magnificent. The fanfiction on there can easily be published as actual books. No problem. And we get to read it for free! Im so grateful for that all the time.

Dont immediatly think Im weird just for reading fanfiction (be honest, who hasnt). I mightve read some dream smp once...(a bit too many because i used to be REALLY into dnf and even bought dream hoodies but lets not talk about that phase of my life. Its embarrassing) but now i love drarry and marauders (especially wolftstar and jegulus) but i also enjoy the "all for the game"-fanfictions - especially "Black as is the Raven" (which is also longer than the bible. dont worry, i checked, am not spreading false information) on ao3 (a trilogy, sooo... actual books) nowadays.

On my spotify wrapped (people who use AppleMusic are weird) it said i listened for 219,139 minutes which are 152 days so I can call myself the music queen now (which is also cringe). My favourite songs (yes i listen to music while reading) are

this shit is so funny to me because if the allied powers actually beat the nazis then why are there so many in the usa, in france, in the uk? the allies beat the axis powers, not fascism. the usa even took in nazi scientists and other important german figures after ww2.

people from allied countries be like „we beat the nazis“ babe theyre in your parliaments. theyre in the usa, as this person even points out here, and theyre still going strong in germany, italy and japan too. the usa and allies might have won the war, but not the ideological one. so i dont see how this would help beat trump supporters. lmao

and the allied powers did not fight in ww2 because theyre the „good guys“, or genuinely cared about the jews and roma and gays and democrats and poles and prostitutes and other groups persecuted and killed by the german nazis, but due to economic and geopolitical interests like any other war. this is what it leads to when the winners get to write history instead of engaging critically with it.

im just wondering, who is this „we“? antifascists? they didnt beat nazi germany, the military did. should the military fight the trump supporters? or is „we“ appealing to the usamerican people? but the call is coming from inside the house. how is the fact that the us military fought nazis (other countries) in ww2 supposed to help fight domestic fascism in 2023 (within the country). and the usa have been way too busy with imperialism and fighting communism after ww2 to lay any groundwork to fight fascism today so again, who is „we“? didnt anything happen in the usa between 1945 and today that would call the existence of this „we“ in question? if you have to go back to 1945 to find an instance where the usa were on the „right side“ (quotation marks because again, the allied forces did not act out of moral purity as this implies), maybe this comparison is a stupid grift. just a thought.

this might be read as an overreaction but the amount of times ive heard people from allied countries use the ww2 victory as a reference of morality… its just historical and political illiteracy to me.

and thats not even touching on western leftists and liberals seemingly not being able to make a point without comparisons to nazi germany. the adequate comparison here would be „if we were able to end segregation, we can beat trump“ or something else that refers to us national politics.

Maybe its just me but if I were to travel to a place where I dont know the language, id at least memorize hello, goodbye, please, and thank you. I make sure I learn that when I visit a friend who speaks another language at home. I know at least those 4 in ASL, Spanish, French, german, Italian, and Russian. Its just 4 phrases.

Shit, I'd even take "no hablo englais" (I may have messed up spelling but I can't read Spanish yet)

Im particularly angered at this one couple who will flat out ignore anyone who doesn't speak Spanish. Like at least a nod would be good? But to ignore us? Feels shitty.

I am trying to learn Spanish though. Its tough bc for some reason French is stuck in my head and I will answer in half French half Spanish. Languages are hard, especially English, which is why im not expecting everyone to be fluent in it. Its confusing.

I want to learn those 4 and "I love you" in as many languages as I can.
