For the next few days, Angel can’t look you in the eyes—hell, he can’t even bring himself to leave his room when he hears you shuffling around the apartment. He waits for the sound of the lock shifting in the door before he can bring himself to stick his head out of his safe haven.
Angel knows he’s the one that fucked up this whole thing with you. He was lonely, and you were in his life for such a long ass time. You’ve never let him down—not even once. You are the sweetest person he’s ever met, yet you can still kick his ass when he’s being a dick. Falling in love with you was inevitable, but he didn’t know it would happen so fast—so soon.
The man sighs as he leans his elbows on the wooden counter, listening to the wheezing of the coffee machine as hot black liquid spurts into the mug. The sound was tickling his nerves in a certain—very annoying—way. It didn’t make him even slightly angry before the bath incident, but now he just can’t stand it—it makes his head hurt.
He slams his fist onto the counter, cursing loudly. The coffee spills over the edge of the mug and barely misses his hand.
“I should fuckin’ do something,” he murmurs to himself through clenched teeth. Since when was he afraid to go after a woman he loves? He’s never been a goddamn pussy. What changed?
You are just so different than anyone Angel’s ever been with. He doesn’t want to lose you—can’t fucking stand the thought of you walking away. He has to do something.
He drops Maverick off at Felipe’s house—gives them some abuelo-nieto time while he drives over to the bar where you work. It’s a shithole—a very suspicious one at that—yet the parking lot in front is almost full. The neon sign above the door flashes on and off when Angel slams the door of his car shut. Jesus, it’s gonna give someone a headache or a fucking seizure.
Entering this building was probably one of the worst mistakes in life—the man thinks as he’s greeted by a couple almost going at it by the entrance. The skinny blond dude has his hand down the poor girl’s skimpy skirt as she moans loudly in his ear, hips rolling into his palm. Fucking disgusting.
He was doing the same exact shit back in the day when he was dumb, reckless, and didn’t care about anyone other than himself. But now the view makes him almost gag.
The brunet pushes past the lovebirds—or rather fuckbirds—through the narrow hallway to the main area. The dimmed red lights flashing above his head and the music that makes every wall pulse with the beat make it seem like more of a club rather than a bar. He’s surprised when he takes a few more steps and a woman dressed in booty shorts with her whole tits out passes by him with a tray full of colorful shots. What the fuck is this place?
Angel looks around wildly, searching the topless women’s faces in fear he’ll recognize one of them. He pushes past the swaying bodies in the middle of the room, and then he sees you—working behind the bar.
He’s relieved when he notices that your chest is covered by one of those bralette thingies you like to wear so much. But he’s not sure whether this relief comes from not wanting the pathetic men around the bar to stare at your perfect body or not wanting to get another surprise boner in front of you.
“You didn’t tell me you’re a bartender now,” he yells through the loud music as your gaze finds him, your eyes widening in shock.
You serve one of the men at the bar a bottle of beer, popping the cap simultaneously, then you come back to Angel and squint at him, trying to find a clue as to why he turned up at your workplace and how he even knew where to find you. This bar was almost an hour's drive away from Santo Padre.
“What the hell are you doing here? I do not have time to put up with your shit right now, Angel,” you sneer at him as you lean over the bar in hopes he’ll hear you better, take the hint and retreat back to his car.
“I’m fucking sorry, alright?!” He throws his hands in the air in exasperation, almost knocking a drink out of some poor girl’s hand.
You blink once, then twice, and your eyebrows scrunch up in annoyance, “Fuck off.” You whip around and go the opposite way to serve another customer.
That’s definitely not how Angel imagined this conversation would go. He didn’t know you were that mad at him. He was a moron to think you’d accept his apology without a peep in the middle of a sea of drunk strangers. This wasn’t a goddamn telenovela.
The man sighs deeply in annoyance before following you to the other side of the bar. “Querida, can we talk? Give me five fucking minutes.”
At first, he’s sure you’ll just ignore him as your eyes almost pop out of your skull—that’s how hard you roll them at his words—but then you turn to him with teary eyes. “I’m at work. I can’t. You really couldn’t wait and ambush me when I’m home?”
“It was an impulse,” he admits. Angel knew it was pretty dumb to think that if he came here, you’d drop everything, so he could explain himself and get rid of this guilt that’s been eating him alive for the past few days. “Please, querida.”
“Oh, for god’s sake,” you curse under your breath before waving over the other bartender and shouting through the noise to her that you’re taking a break.
You join Angel on the other side of the counter and tug at his kutte, leading him toward the exit. Before you can even reach the hallway, someone bumps into you, their hands grabbing at your naked waist.
“Hey there, bonita,” the man greets you. The smell of his cologne and cigarettes makes your eyes widen—you know it very well.
Angel stands there for a second, his left brow raised in annoyance and confusion because you seem to know this guy—and he really doesn’t like that thought. He pushes the stranger’s hands off your body with a sneer.
“Man, don’t fucking touch her like that.”
You catch Angel’s forearm and squeeze almost painfully, your nails digging into his inked skin. You don’t turn your head toward him even for a quarter of a second.
“The hell? We’re friends, big guy.” The man’s deep voice and graying beard confuse him even more. Since when do you fancy fucking grandpas?
“Uh, Cesar, hi,” you greet him, your voice squeaky and the upward quirk of your lips fake. The second the stranger’s gaze falls over your grip on the brunet’s arm, you release him. “Sorry, I’ve actually just finished my shift.”
“No, you fucking didn’t.” Cesar’s eyebrows and nose scrunch threateningly. Who the fuck is this guy to be talking to you like that?
You reply without missing a beat, “My kid’s got a fever. It’s an emergency.”
The old guy looks between your face and Angel’s before the grimace falls. The smirk taking its place isn’t any less threatening. “You must be the baby daddy, huh?” he asks, but his tone is clearly mocking.
You pray in your head that Angel will hold his short temper at bay. You know, one wrong word to Cesar equals a shit ton of trouble—even the satisfaction of wiping that disgusting smirk off his face wasn’t worth it.
“Mi niña hermosa. So fucking good at riding, she got herself a biker,” Cesar almost moans those words out as his hand finds your hip, fingers toying with the belt loop of your dress pants. You don’t move to slap his hand away.
Angel raises his fist to punch him, his teeth gritting against each other almost audibly. Before he can deliver that hit, you push him aside and usher him out of the door. You don’t say another word to that Cesar guy—not even a goodbye—as he slips a bill into your back pocket and slaps your ass.
Angel is fucking livid because you know how to take care of yourself, he saw you kill a man before, crush his skull with your goddamn boot, and yet you just take the disrespect in silence. It’s not like you.
Once you’re out the door and out of earshot, he explodes. “Why the fuck did you let him treat you like that?!” His voice reverberates through the night air, earning the two of you a few concerned and annoyed glances from the bystanders.
“That’s my boss. Now shut up and take me home,” you mumble, exhausted, looking around the parking lot in search of Angel’s car. “I spent an hour in the car with that dick to even get here, and now I’m going back after not even half of my shift just because you couldn’t wait to talk,” you rant, almost stumbling over your words.
When you reach the car, and he opens the door at the passenger side like always, he’s surprised to catch a glimpse of tears running down your cheeks. He joins you inside with a sigh, concerned eyes finding your head turned away from him as you stare through the side window.
“Cariño, I’m sorry,” Angel whispers, his hand reaching to push a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
You sniffle, wiping your cheeks with your bare arm. “Every single time I feel like we’re closer than ever and that maybe you feel something toward me too, you fucking push me away.”
“I know, I’m—”
You cut him off before he has a chance to apologize again, “No, I’m speaking right now. You’ve never yelled at me before. Not like that. You scared the shit out of me, and I blamed myself. Wondered what the hell I did to deserve it. But I didn’t do shit.” You throw your arms in the air, gesticulating toward him. You still refuse to meet his eyes. “You fucked up. Not me. You’re the one that’s been playing with my feelings all this time, and god forbid I try to even out the stakes.”
Angel’s now the one tearing up as his eyes widen at your words. “Querida, I didn’t mean it. I didn’t fucking mean it.” His fingers find solace in tugging on his hair in frustration.  “And I never wanted you to feel like I’m playing with your feelings. I’m so sorry.”
You turn away from him again, biting your lip to keep the sobs inside. “Please, just drive me home, Angel.” The desperation in your voice is heartbreaking.
So he does what you ask of him and drives you home in silence. He doesn’t have it in him to try again when you’re already struggling, trying to keep the whimpers from wrecking your body. And when you pull up in front of your apartment building with a heavy heart, he lets you jump out of the car and rush to the door.
He stays in his seat, trying to recollect himself—it doesn’t help, he still hates himself for making you feel this way. It takes a while for him to get inside the apartment, he dreads that when he walks in, you’ll tell him to take his shit and get out of your life.
Angel knows he fucked up, and you were right; he played with your feelings—played with his own too. He slept in your bed almost every night, cuddled with you, kissed your forehead and told you ‘goodnight’ and ‘good morning’. How was it any different from how he’d treat Nails, Luisa, or any other woman he loved? Minus the sex. And when you challenged that unspoken boundary—on purpose or not—he chickened out and treated you like a plague. What the hell was wrong with him?
The apartment is swallowed in darkness when he enters it. You’re nowhere to be seen, and he figures out you’ve probably shut yourself inside your room, maybe even locked the door, so he wouldn’t be able to come in. He wouldn’t blame you.
He sits on the couch in the gloom and stares into the void. He’ll wait for you to come to him once you’re ready—he’ll sit here for hours if he has to. Angel needs to fix this, tell you what’s really been on his mind the past couple of days—tell you how much you mean to him, how much he loves you, and how fucking terrifying it is.
Three hours pass, and he’s almost dozed off on the couch, his head tilted forward, his back slumped, and his eyelids drooping with every second. The wooden floor creaks underneath your footsteps, waking him up completely. The sleepiness evaporates into thin air as he straightens up and finds your frame in the darkness.
You switch on one of the lamps in the corner of the room. Its warm glow takes over its surroundings, but not overwhelmingly so. Angel squints a little as your frame drops onto the couch beside him. You sniffle softly before leaning your head on his shoulder.
His heart shatters just a little bit more, and his voice carries it, breaking in the middle of the sentence, “I’m sorry, cariño.”
You don’t acknowledge his apology—you don’t really need to. Your next words are all the forgiveness he could ever want.
“I love you, Angel,” you mumble against his arm. It’s a quiet confession, yet it echoes in his mind like a mantra.
He feels your tears soaking into the sleeve of his shirt. The man blinks in shock once, or twice, then pulls you into his lap and presses a gentle kiss against your forehead.
“You know I love you too, right? More than any woman I’ve ever loved,” he admits, and it pains him, but it’s the truth.
He loved Luisa and Stephanie, but those feelings pale in comparison to what he feels for you. Angel never experienced this overwhelming want to protect someone from the whole goddamn world—the pure need to spend every single minute of his life with them and care about them more than he’s ever cared about himself. He feels that for you—like he could throw himself into a burning fire if someone promised him his sacrifice would give you and Maverick safety for the rest of your lives.
You straighten up in his arms and cradle his jaw in your palms. When your eyes meet, you see that burning fire in them. He doesn’t need to say anything else—you understand him without words.
Your lips press against his tentatively at first, tasting the love and longing. But Angel has a different idea. He pulls you flush against his chest, hands tangling in your hair as he deepens the kiss. His tongue grazes the plush of your lips, and you part them for him without a second thought.
That night, he fucks you on the couch in the middle of your living room, your back pressed against the cushions as he slides inside you with a guttural groan. It’s sweet and needy. The desire you harbored for each other finally released into the world—he’s far past feeling guilty, and sorry for a woman that’s long gone.
Your moans reverberate through the room, and all he can think about is how perfectly he fits inside you—like you were made just for him. One look into your eyes, and he knows you’re thinking the same thing.
Your nails bite into the bare skin of his back, and the pain is so lovely—he could get drunk on it. He pushes deeper and deeper until you’re a whimpering, clenching mess beneath him. It’s a picture that burns into his brain, he’ll never be able to get it out—not that he’ll ever want to.
When he spills inside you with a groan, you pull him flush against your naked frame, cradling his face in your palms and leaving sweet pecks anywhere you can reach.
He’s addicted already, he’ll never be able to give you away now—not a chance in the world. Angel’s love for you is burned into his heart permanently.

Beautiful
"Babe? You okay?" called EZ when he heard a clatter from the bathroom. Hearing no response he made his way to the cracked door to check on you. Seeing you picking up your scattered makeup from the floor. He opened the door to help. "Don't!" you shouted startling him. "I'm okay E. I just knocked my bag over and am frustrated." you added after a moment straining to make your tone normal.
"Let me help you please. I can pick it all up, while you get your pj's on" replied EZ as he knelt down to grab brushes closer by the door. "I need to do my makeup first" you whispered not looking at him. "Before bed?' inquired EZ extremely confused as he turned to look at you. "Yes" you replied after a moment. "You never used to do that" replied EZ as he reached out to touch your arm.
"Its my scars...." you started to explain as you turned to face him. "What about them? They are beautiful babe" replied EZ as he ghosted his thumb along the one that ran across you cheek. "No" you started to protest but EZ was having none of it. "You are going to make me show you huh" he replied as he stood up pulling you with him. "E" you whined as he peppered your face and neck with sloppy kisses and let his hands wander over your robe clad body. Pulling away he saw a small smile ghost your face making him grin. "Go get yourself in bed while I finish cleaning up in here" stated EZ as he gave you a nudge to the door as he bent to pick up the remaining items.
"Make me" you murmured with a grin as you let your robe fall open and then slip to the floor. EZ grinned up at you as he took in every delicious ounce of your skin making him lick his lips. "You have done it now." stated EZ as he stood up grinning at you.
***
"E" you whined again as he continued to tease you with the tip of his cock as he latched onto your neck again while his fingers trailed over your breast. EZ laughed as he moved to look into your eyes. "What babe? Did you not cum enough already?" teased EZ as he smirked down at you and bucked his hips slightly into you making you whimper. "Beg" murmured EZ as he leaned down into your ear as he moved a hand to circle your clit gently. "Please. One more" you whined as you raised your hips slightly to get more contact. The urge to tease you some more was high but his own needs won out and he slid inside of you in one thrust. Keeping his mouth on your neck he delivered slow, deep strokes driving you both over the edge of pleasure within minutes.
"Thank you E" you murmured as he slipped out of you and pulled you into his side as he moved his hands through your hair. "Anytime you need a reminder about how beautiful you and these scars are I'm your guy" he replied as he kissed your forehead.

You felt like the phone was mocking you at this point. By the third ring you knew he wasn’t going to answer but you still waited it through, not once but four times. Time was ticking, you didn’t have the luxury of waiting for him to pick up. Your date, your very shitty date was waiting a mere 20 feet away outside the bathroom at your empty table for you to come back. Yes, empty. You hadn’t even gotten to be served your drink order yet and you already knew this date was a dud.
Maneuvering out of the bathroom window was an easy enough solution, one you would have easily relied on if you weren’t carless or in the middle of El Centro. El Centro, while close enough to Santo Padre by car was 10 miles of highway that you weren’t really looking forward to walking. You cursed yourself for not getting your car fixed this past weekend, leaving you in the hands of the random man you matched with on some stupid app tonight. Your options were bouncing back and forth in your head, you could start your trek home and keep calling in hopes of an answer, or you could just sit through what will probably be the worst date of your life.
The second option seemed bearable, but after he was discussing his 5th conspiracy theory–and keep in mind you were only 20 minutes into the date, and his constant casual sexual joke that was definitely his way of hinting at bringing you home you couldn’t listen anymore.
You thought 10 was still relatively early, especially for Angel Reyes. Him not answering could have been for a multitude of reasons but realistically you knew he was probably not the Reyes brother you should rely on. Shaking your head, you hung up after getting the voicemail again, tired of hearing the automated woman’s voice and called someone else.
Two rings. That was all it took.
“Hey, what’s up?” EZ’s voice was like a wave of relief washing over you.
“Thank God.” You mumbled as your shoulders fell in solace. “I’m stranded.” The words you spoke left a lot to be imagined.
“You okay?” His tone was tense.
“I’m on this awful fuckin’ date and I’m in the bathroom of La Resaca Seafood Bar off Rt 8 with no car and no way home except with Mr. I’ve seen Bigfoot 30 times who wants to bring me to the Polynesian Lodge tonight.”
EZ let out a chuckle before frowning his brow, “Polynesian Lodge?”
“Motel.” Your one worded answer was all EZ needed to hear to let out another laugh.
“Sounds romantic.” He was already grabbing the keys to his bike.
“Ezekial Reyes. Your brother is already on my shit list. I called him 4 times to save me from this mess but no answer. Do not make me put you on my shit list too.” The desperation in your voice came through as you started to climb up on the toilet paper dispenser to get a better footing to escape through the window.
“Well, that was your second mistake, you know I’m the more reliable Reyes.” The door to EZ’s trailer was closing and he was turning around to lock it as he stayed on the phone.
“Wait” you paused, now standing on the dispenser that was secured into the wall of concrete. “What’s my first mistake?”
The smile on EZ’s face would have earned him a smack upside the head if you were with him in person. “Going on a tinder date with the guy who uses a photoshopped picture of his head on Captain America’s body.”
You were flabbergasted that he knew who you were out with, you didn’t think either of the Reyes boys listened to you when you talked about your matches on Tinder. But you should’ve known EZ would have put two and two together.
“I thought it was FUNNY, like a joke, I didn’t think he was serious about it.” You argued in your defense. “Also, there’s a whole theory out there that the nerdy guys are the ones to scoop up.”
“So tell me about Bigfoot.” EZ was now on his bike, leaning back soaking in every moment of this.
“EZ.” Your voice was firm.
The laugh EZ let out was straight from his belly, he was enjoying this too much.
“Yo E!” Angel’s voice could be heard from the background.
“Is that Angel? Tell him he’s an asshole and he should check his phone.” At this point you were already one leg out of the window when you heard the bathroom door handle turn as the door opened.
In one ear, the one with the phone attached you heard EZ call out. “You’re an asshole and you should check your phone.”
In the other ear, the startled voice of your waitress rang. “Oh my god.” She stopped in her tracks, hand being raised to clamp her chest as the scene of you half dangling out of a window was the last thing she expected.
“E, Seafood off Route 8, please hurry.” With that, you hung up and climbed down quickly to be face to face with your server.
“That bad?” After taking in the situation she understood what was happening.
“Very.” You nodded your head. “I need to stall for like 10 minutes before my ride gets here, do you think you could mention that I left my phone in here when you come back to take our order? That way I have a logical reason to escape through the bathroom window?”
“Sure.” She nodded in acceptance as you smiled and thanked her before moving past her to the bathroom door. “The kitchen exit is right next to the bathroom door, just go through there.” The waitress turned to face you, giving you an easier out instead of the acrobatics. “No need to do whatever the fuck that was, again.” She pointed at the window and retreated into a stall.
Meanwhile, as you suffered through the agony of 10 long minutes of this horrible date. EZ and Angel were coming to your rescue, sort of.
“Ay, what’s with the name calling? and why do I have so many missed calls from Y/N?” Angel trekked over to EZ’s trailer from the clubhouse as he looked at his phone.
EZ had hung up the phone before he waved it up in the air at Angel. “Just got off the phone with her, she’s stranded.”
“Stranded? The fuck?” Angel perked up just like EZ had when you spoke those words to him.
“Bad date. I’m gonna go pick her up if you wanna come. Think you were her first choice anyways.” EZ laughed as he placed his helmet over his head.
Angel let out a chuckle, relaxing his shoulders from the tension. “I never answer my phone, don’t know why the fuck she’d call me.” Despite his lack of empathy, Angel was making his way over to his bike to follow EZ to save you from your date.
As the two waited at the light that was mere seconds from the restaurant, Angel called over to EZ.
“Yo!” Angel got EZ’s attention. “Was it that captain america guy? Didn’t we tell her he was a lame?”
EZ couldn't help but smirk at Angel’s recollection of the night you three spent together just hanging at your place. If Angel remembered it, it was obvious you were only choosing to hear what you wanted that night. “Yea, you should tell her when we see her, I think she’ll appreciate the advice.” EZ set Angel up for disaster later, knowing it’d be pure entertainment for him.
Back at that restaurant, you had just managed to make it to the entrance of the kitchen when you heard the rumbling of not one, but two motorcycles. “Oh thank God.” You mumbled as you burst through the kitchen swinging door and ran like you knew your way around. You pretty quickly found the exit doors and pushed through them, offering no explanation to the staff who was back there. Angel was the first bike you saw since he was closest to you. Immediately, you ran up to him but not without a few choice words.
“Fuck you, Reyes!” You yelled out at him as you approached his bike.
“Hey!” Both brothers yelled simultaneously, EZ leaned forward so you could see him a little further out past Angel.
“You want to be stranded or you want a rescue?” Angel held out a helmet giving you the choice.
Begrudgingly you grabbed it, putting it on over your head and quickly throwing your leg over the back of his bike and scooting closer to him as you got situated.
“Thank you.” The words were mumbled, he laughed as you said them, knowing it was hard for you. The only reason you knew he laughed was because your hands had come across the front of his torso to grip onto him for the ride and you felt the shake of his stomach under his kutte.
He took off immediately, knowing you were ready to go just by your hold on him. EZ wasn’t far behind at all. You pulled up to the same red light they had just been at previously, when Angel looked over his shoulder to talk to you.
“You didn’t eat, right?”
You shook your head to answering knowing your voice would he drowned out by the engine. “You want Jack in the Box?” He was still looking over at you but his head nodded towards the fast food restaurant that was right in front of them. “My treat. To make it up to you or whatever.” His eyes rolled waiting for your answer.
“Alright, yea, I’m fuckin’ starved.” You answered and looked over to EZ to point to the drive through sign to show him where you were headed.
The group of you pulled in and ordered through the drive through since inside was closed, no one ever talks about the awkwardness of ordering drive through on a motorcycle, you had learned new ways to balance things and about compartments that you had no idea existed on the bike. The three of you parked the bikes and walked over to the front of the building. EZ was quick to throw his arm around you, drink in hand as it dangled over your right shoulder.
“Rough night?” A grin grew on his face.
“You’re the worst.” You pushed him off you and made your way over to the front parking space where the cement parking block served as your seat and your laps as your dinner table.
“It ain’t no rescara seafood but I hope you like it.” Angel teased as he brought his drink to his lips.
“I’m never going to hear the end of this, am I?” Your head dropped forward in defeat.
“I’m not sure why you decided to go out with Captain America wannabe.” Angel was now devouring into his food and said his last sentence as he had a mouthful of food.
“Yea cause I surround myself with men who are catches.” Sarcasm dripped off uour voice and a frown filled your face as you watched him eat.
EZ perked up waiting for the other shoe to drop, knowing it was seconds before you put two and two together.
“and how the fuck did you kno—“ your head snapped to EZ who was sitting on the same cement block but to your left. “you fuckin’ told him!”
Backfired. EZ quickly raised his hands in surrender. “I said nothing he just paid attention when you told us.” He shrugged.
“You expect me to believe that?” Your frown deepened.
Angel was now sporting the Reyes shit eating grin knowing he had gotten away with his comment.
“Alright, seriously. What was so bad about the date?” Angel asked curiously.
“What you wanna take notes for yourself?” You weren’t backing down off the defense.
“I think he’s being genuine.” EZ spoke up with a shocking display of defense for his brother.
“Sorry.” You apologized quickly to both of them and took a deep breath. “It was just weird. A lot of weird topics of conversation and he wanted to take me back to the Polynesian Lodge.” Angel looked at you confused and before he could ask you responded. “Motel.”
Angel nodded in understanding, finishing off his food and grabbing his drink as he rested his arms on his bent knees.
“Thanks for picking me up, guys.” Your voice softened as you spoke to them. “I owe you.” Your head swiveled to look at both of them.
“Look at this bozo.” Angel said as he nodded towards a man wearing a full 3 piece suit walking out of the convenience store next to the fast food building.
“Oh my god.” You quickly hid your face as best as you could with your hand, not having much of an option as you were sitting in an open and empty lot.
EZ glanced to the man and then to you, putting two and two together. The laugh that left his mouth was impossible to recreate, it was so genuine and loud that it caused the man to look over at the group of you.
“Fuck he lookin’ at?” Angel made a face.
“Its HIM.” You gritted your teeth together and spoke low. You peaked to see him staring at you three.
Angel was quick to change his face, his hand raising to cheers the man with his soda, EZ doing the same but with less enthusiasm and more of a neutral face.
“Have a good night, man.” EZ spoke with a normal voice, it wasn’t what you wished happened but the situation was unique to say the least. But then Angel had to speak up.
“You’ll get ‘em next time, Cap!!”
With that you completely melted into the ground of the parking lot, wishing you could disappear from this stupid little area ofd route 8.
“Next time, I’m walking home.”

“If you want me to shut up, you’d better make me shut up,” you practically scream. You've been arguing for over an hour, completely forgetting what you’re actually arguing over, but you’re too fired up to give a shit.
A smirk on his face, Bishop stands up, giving you the opportunity to see the growing bulge in his jeans. He knows you’re probably still pissed off about this morning, when he got called into work early.
“On the table,” he demands. “And spread your legs.”
Doing as he says, he buries his head between your legs, driving you fucking crazy.

Meet the Reaper 25
Alrighty. Here's the next bit. Another bit of filler, but it also gives a little more information on how the club has planned to take care of Megan in everything they can.
Do not copy or steal my work. This is the only place it's posted. Do not translate my work. Please DO reblog it. Our fandom is still active, but we're quiet. Let's make them a little less so.
Warnings: slight suggestive material. I don't remember cursing in here but I probably did. More foreshadowing, but it's my favorite literary device so you might as well get used to it.
OH! I also have a poll up about Mayans villains. Go check it out.
Back at the clubhouse, Megan grinned as she saw Tía Diana and Tessa waiting on the porch. Marcus laughed as he dismounted his bike, only to discover Tessa was headed for the Mustang to meet her prima. Taza grinned too. “We’re chopped liver as long as the princessas are together, Padrino.”
He smiled as Diana came to greet him with a kiss. “But I wouldn’t have it any other way, Brother.”
They spent a low key night in the clubhouse watching -mostly- kid safe movies. Megan and Tessa curled together on a couch with snacks as the men unwound by playing pool or just hanging out. By the time Diana and Marcus were ready to head back to Bishop’s for the night, the girls were fast asleep, curled together like puppies with Rex.
Hank chuckled and pulled out his phone to snap a picture. “That’s another one for her wall…”
Taza grinned. “I agree, ‘mano.” He looked to Marcus. “You sure you want to wake her? She could stay at the ranch for the night and give you two a night to yourself.”
Diana smiled. “Sorry, Taza. We’re going to head out early. Tessa has missed enough school already.”
He shrugged and grinned. “Well - I tried.”
Marcus chuckled a bit. “And we appreciate the thought,” he said before moving to gently wake Tessa.
As soon as Tessa moved when Marcus shook her gently, Megan’s eyes popped open and she was reaching for her holster.
“Easy, Poquito. Just me,” he soothed. “Time for Tessa and Diana to head out.”
Megan blinked rapidly to clear the sleep from her eyes and then relaxed. “Sorry Tío. Habit.”
He smiled and smoothed a hand over her hair. “You’re okay Bebita.” He tried again to wake Tessa only to be greeted by a whine as she buried her face in Megan’s hoody on her good side more.
Bishop laughed around the cigar he was smoking. “Looks like she’s officially out for the count, Primo.”
Megan smiled ruefully and squeezed her cousin a little tighter for a moment. “Are you guys leaving in the morning, Tía?” she asked without looking up.
“Sí. Time for the tiny princessa to go back to school.” Diana leaned over the back of the couch to press a kiss to the back of Megan’s head. “We’ll call from the road so that you two can make plans, okay?”
“Okay,” she smiled sleepily up at her aunt. “Be safe.”
Marcus scooped Tessa up and smiled. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Poquito,” he promised as they headed out the door.
Chibs smiled at Megan from his barstool. “I do believe tha’s my que too, Princess. We’ll head back tomorrow too - but not early.” Tig and Venus had already slipped out earlier in the night. He stood and came to offer Megan a smile. “See ya tomorrow, Lass.”
“Night. Ride safe, Chibs.”
Back at the ranch after showers all around, they gathered in the living room to decompress a bit more. Hank had Megan sitting between his knees so that he could brush her hair out for her before bed while Taza relaxed in the recliner.
“That was a good catch today, Chica. What gave them away?” Taza asked.
Megan shrugged as well as she could. “They were just too interested in us to be bystanders. We always draw attention, but not like that. And then the lady showed up on that balcony and it didn’t feel right. I figured being the bubbly tourist was the safest bet. Worst case - they were L.O. and Adelita would laugh at me.”
Hank pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “Either way, it was brilliant. Now - we just need to figure out who they actually were.”
Taza sighed and rubbed his face tiredly. “Most likely they were either feds or they belong to Galindo. Either one would have reason to have us followed.”
“If they were Galindo’s, they weren’t any that Luisa recognized,” Megan supplied. “She didn’t know their faces.”
“Most likely feds then. We’ll have to be extra careful about tails while Galindo is tied to them,” Hank mused as he continued to run the brush through Megan’s dark hair. “And you -” he tugged he head back to look at him. “You never carry contraband. Never. Don’t even touch it.” He kissed her forehead. “The rest of us can handle it.”
Taza nodded in agreement. “And if we’re ever caught - you know nothing about what we do. You play dumb. We’re just a M.C. Women in our world are never given details so they likely won’t think you have any. As far as the feds are concerned - you’re a cute mascot.”
Megan grimaced, but nodded. “I understand, Papa.”
“Good.” Hank looked at Taza. “And if we are caught and she’s with us - the lawyers go to Megan first. I don’t care how many of us are caught. We would have each other’s backs inside. She’d be alone.”
Taza nodded again. “That instruction has already been given, brother. Bishop and I handled it with the lawyers the other day.”
“And on that cheerful note - Bedtime,” Hank joked. “C’mon mi princessa. You’ve had a long day. Let’s go to bed.
Megan smiled and stood to go claim a cuddle from Taza. “Night Papa.”
“Sweet dreams, Sweet Chica. Maybe in the morning we can make sure your saddle fits like it should. You can’t ride, but we can fit it at least.” He kissed her forehead softly and smiled at the excited little noise that Megan gave.
Once in the bedroom with Rex in his dog bed, Hank watched Megan carefully for signs of pain. “How was it today, mi reina? I’m sorry I didn’t think to send your meds with Taza.”
Megan put her hair brush down on her dressing table and smiled at him in the mirror. “I was okay. The pain wasn’t anything like before when I wasn’t taking the pain relief.” She turned and moved to stand between his knees where he was perched on his footlocker at the end of the bed.
His hands automatically went to her waist where he could slip his thumbs under her sleep shirt to stroke her skin. “I’m glad. I worried all day, but Bishop said Taza would call if you needed them. We didn’t want to interrupt your fun if you really were alright.” He smiled. “Did you enjoy the fair?”
“We had lots of fun with the games. Papa won me a duckie. He’s in the car.”
Hank laughed. “He said you kicked ass at the shooting games though.”
Megan grinned at him and bit her bottom lip. “Maybe a little. There are more prizes with the duck in the trunk.”
He kissed her softly. “That’s mi reina.” He moved her back gently so that he could pull off his shirt and crawl into bed so that she could snuggle back against his chest the way she liked. Once they were settled he frowned a little. “I wish I could have gone to the rodeo with you. Taza said it was eye opening for him. I can only imagine what it would be like for me. I’ve never even been on a horse, let alone rode in anything like that.”
She looked up at him over her shoulder. “Really? Never?”
“Not in my memory. You’ll have to teach me to ride if you want me to go with you on the horses.”
She smiled a little and yawned as she snuggled closer. He draped his arm over her waist to hold her good hand and cradled her as close as he could. “I can do that. You’d do well with Trucker, I think. He’s big enough for you. And Papa says he’s steady. He didn’t even spook when he met Rex the first time. I think you’ll be okay on him.”
Hank chuckled. “Which one do you think you’ll ride most?” he asked curiously.
“Papa says Rocket. He’s the fastest. Sugar is sweet, but she’s slow and a little lazy. And Trucker and I would be okay, but with his size I’d look like an ant riding an elephant. He’s too wide for me to ride for any real length of time properly.” She closed her eyes and Hank moved to turn off the lamp that was their only light before settling back in to hold her. Megan yawned again. “Papa also said something about buying me a cutting horse to compete again. It might be fun to finally have my very own horse… To know that it was mine…”
Hank smiled as he listened to her drift off before he closed his eyes to join her.
The next morning, Hank woke up as Megan tried to sneak out of bed. Just before she got to the edge of the bed, he grabbed her gently and pulled her back in close. “Morning, Princessa. Where you going?” he asked with a rumble.
Megan jumped a little and giggled as she realized what was happening. She relaxed back into his bare chest easily. “Morning, Baby. I was going to TRY to get breakfast ready before you woke up.”
He smiled and nuzzled her neck, placing kisses on her skin. “Mmm but I like making breakfast with you.” His hands wandered a little, stroking the skin of her abdomen and hips.
“Mm. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to spoil you once in a while.” She melted, enjoying the feeling of his mouth and calloused hands on her skin. She pressed her hips back against his with a tiny whine.
He grinned and nibbled gently at the hinge of her jaw. “This is spoiling me, mi reina. How’s your pain level this morning?”
She shivered pleasantly and pressed entirely against him, feeling him hardening the more she wriggled. “A little achy, but not bad. I really think I could drop the sling…”
He pressed his whole hand below her navel with a chuckle. “Easy, Princessa. Don’t start that unless you want teased back.” He laughed again at the whine she let out. “Let me see if we can get you in to the doctor in Santa Madre today. You may be right about the sling.”
They both looked up as Taza knocked on the door frame of the cracked open door. “What might she be right about?”
“Good morning, Papa,” Megan said with a smile. “I was telling Hank that I think I’d be okay without the sling.”
Taza stepped inside and frowned. “You shouldn’t push yourself, Chica…”
“I know, Papa, but the pain is so much better without the cast. I went all day without pain relief yesterday and I’m not really hurting this morning either.” She smiled and wiggled until Hank released her so that she could sit up.
Hank pushed himself up to sit against the headboard and hastily arranged the blankets before he smiled. “I told her that we’d get the doc’s opinion in Santa Madre with an x-ray.”
“They said three weeks at the hospital and the Rez doctor said you weren’t healed enough to be without the sling yet…” Taza fretted.
“That was with the plaster cast, though. The soft cast is so much lighter and without my muscles spasming like they were I’ve felt so much better…”
Hank smiled as he watched Megan weedle her father. “An x-ray with the doc won’t do any harm, Taz. If she needs to stay in the sling, then she stays in the sling. But you know it’s driving her batshit.”
Taza winced. “Fine. Make the call.” He moved to sit in Megan’s reading chair. “You call. I’ll help Megan if she needs it.”
Hank smiled and nodded before pressing a kiss to the back of Megan’s head and going to the living room for his burner phone.
Megan smiled. “Can you braid my hair for me, Papa? I can get dressed after.”
“Of course, Chica. What are we doing today?”
A short while later, Taza and Megan exited the bedroom to find Hank sitting at the table on the phone. He was speaking Spanish as he absently rubbed Rex’s ears.
Without pausing, Megan pressed a kiss to his still sleep ruffled hair and went to the stove to start the coffee. Taza leaned in the doorway and watched as he held in a chuckle. Megan’s back was to Hank so she didn’t catch the double take he gave or notice him lose track of the conversation since it was in Spanish.
Taza had braided Megan’s hair into her tight warrior braids and then sat back as she fussed a bit over what to wear. Eventually, she’d settled on a white racerback tank top and her light washed skinny jeans that looked like the distressing machine had gone completely apeshit on them. She was completely covered, but it was also tighter than she normally wore. She had all plans of putting her leather jacket under her kutte the way Chibs did before they left the house.
Taza gave Hank a moment to allow his brain to reboot before he joined him at the table and jokingly threw a napkin in front of his brother. Hank shot him a glare before quickly wrapping up his call. He cleared his throat a bit. “All ready, Princessa?”
Megan finished setting up the percolator and turned to smile at them. “Yeah. Were you able to get an appointment.
The men looked at each other and chuckled. “We don’t need an appointment, Chica. We just needed to be sure the doctor would be in town. He sometimes has out of town deliveries to make,” Taza explained.
Hank grinned. “But, yes, mi amore, I got in touch. He’s in town today and we can see him whenever.”
“Oh good. I really want my arm back.”
Taza smiled. “We know, but you still will be limited with the soft cast.”
“But without the sling I can ride with y’all again. Or even drive my car.” She grinned. “And I can go back to work at the bar.”
Hank shook his head, grinning ruefully. “True enough, mi reina.” He stood. “I’ll go get dressed.” He winked at her. “Looks like we’re going South today.”
Taza and Megan made a quick breakfast og burritos while Hank changed. By the time they were all done eating, all three of their phones went off. Megan was closest and checked hers. “Templo tonight. Angel and EZ are headed South today too, so we’ll meet for an update after that. Also - Tía Diana left a text to say that they started back before sunrise this morning.”
Taza paused from loading the dishwasher and grabbed his. “The Scot says they’re leaving in about an hour. Want to stop by the clubhouse and say goodbye, Chica?”
“Yes, please. That means Venus is leaving too,” she said with a smile.
They gathered their gear and donned their kuttes before heading out to meet everyone at the clubhouse.
Hank kept a close eye on Megan on the way over, to see if she was having any anxiety over so many people leaving. She seemed to be calm and collected, but he kept a hand on her knee when he wasn’t shifting gears just in case.
Angel was the one who rolled open the gate for them to the clubhouse, but by the look of the pit - everyone was there. The Sons were standing on the porch in what looked like last discussions of plans with Bishop and Marcus. Once they got parked, Hank came around to open Megan’s door for her so that she and Rex could get out. He started towards the porch, but realized that Megan seemed to be lingering by the car as she fussed with Rex’s harness.
“All good, mi princessa?” he asked quietly.
Megan shot him a smile. “All good. Just don’t want to interrupt business…”
Hank grinned as Taza joined them. “Mi reina - you’re an officer. No business that you don’t know about.” Taza smiled too as realization passed over Megan’s face and she looked a bit sheepish.
“Ooops. I keep forgetting,” she grinned.
Taza laughed. “You’ll get there, Chica. C’mon. I know you want to say goodbye to Venus.”
They joined the group just as they stepped off the stairs.
“Well, good morning to you, Little Bit. Come to see us off?” Tig asked, ginning at her as his eyes lingered a little too long on her tight jeans that were just brushing the tops of her biker boots.
Venus smacked him in the stomach with the back of her hand before turning her own attention to Megan. “Good morning, Sweetheart. Feeling alright?” she asked, stepping forward for a hug.
Megan hugged the tall woman back. “Good morning. I’m fine. Not hurting as much. We’re actually going to see a doctor today about maybe being able to drop the sling.”
“Oh good. You let me know what they say. We’ll be on the bike, but I’ll text at rest stops.” She pulled back to smile at the younger woman and straightened the girl’s necklace for her.
“I will. I’ll miss you,” Megan said quietly.
“Psh. I’m only a phone call away. Call me anytime and I’ll start driving, Honey.”
Megan hugged her again. “Ride safe and say hello to Happy for me.” She grinned at Tig over Venus’s shoulder. “And you need to stop being lazy in the ring. It’s just making it harder on you.”
Tig laughed. “Oh. She bites this morning. When you’re all healed up, we’ll see who’s lazy in the ring.”
Chibs stepped forward. “It’ll still be you, Tiggy,” he drawled with a wink at Megan. “This lass’ll be a proper fighter.” He offered Megan a hug which she took. “We’ll be down in style for tha’ big party soon enough. Keep ya’self safe til’ then, alrigh’?”
Megan squeezed him around the middle gently. “I’ll be alright. Ride safe, Chibs.”
“You too, Lass.”
With a few final goodbyes, SAMCRO mouthed their bikes and headed back North.

Get Your Act Together” - Angel Reyes x Black Reader snippet. Pleaseeee 🙏🏽
Sorry it took a minute to answer. I never got the notification for the ask lovely. It’s not edited so please excuse any mistakes. Hope you enjoy it💓!
Angel Reyes x Black!Reader
Snippet:
“Get Your Act Together”
Your heels clicked over to Angel. Sliding your hands up his chest, you looked up at him with fluttering lashes. Face painted with an innocent expression, you stood on your tiptoes to steal a quick kiss. He smiled down at you thinking he had won. You leaned in and teased him.
“Ass fat. Kitty fat. I got all these men wishing they could have that. Baby, just admit that you love it here,” you smirked trying to get a rise out of him.
Angel kissed his teeth and was about to say something sarcastic, but Ez cut him off, “God, I did not need to know that,” he groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Sorry, bro but he needs to be reminded of what he’s got at home,” you teased the flustered Mayan.
Kissing his teeth Angel retorted, “you the one acting up. Better chill out before I give you some act right.”
“I mean come on ‘mano, that ass is fat. You better appreciate that fine ass woman,” Coco challenged.
Angel looked at him as if he had lost his mind. It took everything in Ezekiel to keep from laughing.
Still staring at Coco like a mad man he replied, “bitch, do you want me to shoot you? Stop looking at my girl’s ass!”
Ezekiel wanted in on busting his brother's ball’s. Like a typical annoying baby brother, he chimed in, “sister or not. We’re not actual blood, so I’ve gotta agree with Coco, brother-.”
“Don’t finish that fucking statement Ezekiel,” Angel warned.
Ez and Coco exchanged a knowing glance before the words tumbled out of his mouth.
“What? It’s the truth! That’s a nice ass, with a nice set of ti-.”
In a split second Angel was lunging at Ezekiel. With your help, Coco managed to break up the scuffle amongst the brothers.
Feedback is greatly appreciated my loves. Feel free to love and reblog🥰.

Just Pretend
Chapter One:Princess of Santo Padre
Tumblr media
"Curiosity often leads to trouble"
-Alice in Wonderland (1951)
~~~~~
"¿Tienes algún plan hoy, niña?" (Do You have any plans today baby girl? ) My father asked as I helped him bring in my luggage to abuela's house and into the spare room.
I simply shook my head.
"No, other than going to lunch with Emily. You know she's going to have my head if I don't come meet her and Miguel's son" I replied, finishing off a tight dutch braid of my hair.
"¿Por qué? ¿El club me necesita?" (Why? Does the club need me?) I paused briefly.
He simply chuckled and came over to me, kissing the top of my head.
"tu dedicación a este club me hace pensar que eres miembro de este club" (Your dedication to this club makes me think you're apart of this club) he replied. I simply smiled and finished off the second braid.
"I'm going to head out, they need me in templo.. something about going to base town." He spoke, placing a kiss on my head and heading out the door.
I simply smiled and stood up, walking him to the door and making sure he put on his helmet when riding.
"You know, it's almost like you care about his safety more then me, Fleur" I heard from my best friend. I simply flipped him off.
"Angel, leave her alone. You and I both know she will gut you like a pig" my father spoke and I shook my head.
Its always these damn men.
As i finished getting ready for the day, my phone went off, noticing it was Emily I smiled and answered.
"If you're calling to ask me to babysit absolutely. I'll watch my god baby" I smiled, picking out the days outfit.
"I was actually calling to see if you wanted to have lunch. Miguel is busy doing some kind of work and I don't want to stay in the house with Dita.." Emily spoke, the irritation in her voice evident when she spoke of Dita.
"Emily.. I love you to death. But give me a break on the Dita thing. That's your mother in law..you have got to understand her side of things" I replied. I decided on a simple pair of leggings, a nice and flowy t shirt and a pair of converses. It was extremely hot today in Santo Padre, I wasn't going to try dying just because I wanted to look cute.
"Nicole.. I do understand her side. But she's just so... pushy. Its as if she wishes she was me instead of in her own position. " I could hear the frustration and decided just to bed it. I didn't want to deal with her anger.
"So, where for lunch?" I asked, grabbing my jacket and purse.
"Just here. If its okay, Nestor is picking you up on the way to Miguel."
I sighed. Nestor was Miguel's best friend, and he was merciless. A beautiful, but very troubled man. He was Miguel's right hand, and also his best friend.
As I went to go outside to my car Nestor was already there in the famous black escalade.
"Yeah, he's already here Em. I'll see you soon!" I smiled, hanging up.
I peered at Nestor, whom seemed to be as enthused with me as I was him.
"You gonna let me sit up front or am I still subjected to the back seat?" I asked. He stared me down, the dark orbs of his eyes peering back at me. He cracked a smile and shook his head.
"Always a pleasure, Fleur." He opened the passenger door and waited for me to get in.
" Don't call me that, Duendecillo" (gremlin) I climbed into my seat and put the seat belt on, not trusting his ability to drive. Nestor scoffed and rounded to the drivers side of the vehicle.
"You really ought to give him a chance, Nicole. Hes not that bad." I heard Miguel say from behind me.
"Jesucristo, Miguel. Tienes que dejar de hacerme esa mierda sabiendo muy bien que tengo un corazón débil." (Jesus christ, miguel. You have got to stop doing that shit to me knowing damn good and well I have a weak heart.)
Miguel laughed, shaking his head. Nestor got into the vehicle and put his sunglasses back on, pulling out of the driveway.
"And give him a chance for what? To teach me how to braid my own hair?" I turned in my seat to face my bestfriends husband. I started playing with the end of Nestor's braid, much to his disapproval. I smiled and yanked it a bit, just for him to turn his attention towards me and give me a look that would normally make me melt, but only added fuel to the fire.
"I can't wait to kill you" he simply spoke, and I sat back in my seat.
"First of all, you can't. Emily would have your head and bitch to Miguel which we both know won't go over well. Secondly, where the fuck are you driving? Did you braid your hair too tight because this isn't the way to the estate" I replied. It wasn't a lie.. we weren't even headed in the same direction as Emily and Miguel's home was.
Miguel coughed uncomfortably in his seat, and I looked at him through the mirror. His eyes screamed for me to just please give him a break from our bickering and I sighed, knodding.
Eventually we did stop at an abandoned building, and a group of motorcycles stood outside the entrance.
"Wait, Miguel. Why is my father and the MC here? What's going on?" I asked, turning in my seat.
"It's just a small detour for buisness. I asked the MC for a favor on something and they simply complied. I hope you don't mind.. I can have Nestor drive you to Emily and Cristobal shortly.." he continued but I shrugged.
"No, it's ok. I can visit my father for some more time. " I smiled quickly and got out of the vehicle, being met by my tio bishop.
"Niña, ¿qué haces aquí?" (Baby girl, what are you doing here?) He asked, giving me a quick hug. He was always so protective of me, especially since his son, my cousin, passed away a few years ago. I think he took to me as if I was his own daughter..which was fine. Between him, my father and tio Marcus I was the princess of the Mayans.
"Quick detour, I was on the way to visit Emily. They picked me up. " I replied, looking quickly at Nestor and Miguel.
My eyes set on Nestor, who was standing against the vehicle. His eyes seemed to be trailing me, and as they set on mine he quickly turned his attention away.
We walked in and there was a bigger man tied to a church pew, this must of been what my father was talking about when he said that they were going to Base Town. For some strange reason, Miguel put on a yellow rain coat and it made me giggle.
"Look at him! He looks like he's going to audition for the role of georgie in IT" I quietly spoke to Angel, causing him to giggle.
"Nikki, stop." He replied and I couldn't help myself, I kept going.
"What? Look at him! He about to start singing and shit about dancing in the rain!" I replied, laughing harder. The attention in the room turned to us and I shrugged.
"My apologies" I very quickly spoke, Nestor looking at me with an annoyed look on his face. I shook my head at him and flipped him off, adding what ever fuel to a fire i could.
Miguel turned back to the bound man, starting to question him.
"You ever meet her?" He asked, crossing his hands infront of him.
"Never in person. She'd give us a call or a text, gave us a drop point" the man replied.
"Where?"
"Indio Quarry. We used proxies to drop off the drugs, pick up the cash. Never saw a face..no names.."
Nestor grabbed a bag off of the table behind him, handing it and its contents to Miguel.
"Found this in your jeep. Payment?"
"She didn't tell us it was the cartel..I swear" the man replied.
"Bullshit, your men were told of the fact it was the Galindo Cartel when they robbed the MC. "I spat out, getting annoyed.
"Not now, Fluer. Please. " Miguel spoke to me, turning his attention back to the man.
"Was she.. American?" Miguel spoke.
"No.. spoke English, but she was latina i think. Young. She sounded young. " the man replied. He looked so scared, but I knew it was a guise. I walked to Nestor who was playing with various knives, and picked up a machete.
"Unless you plan on getting your shirt stained and having a meltdown, put it down." Nestor spoke, not bothering to even look at me.
"Nestor, I think you did your braids too tight. You're forgetting I don't have meltdowns over blood on me.. you forget so easily." I cupped his face, smiling.
I walked away from him with the weapon in hand, towards the man. As Miguel turned around I lifted the weapon, and swung it down on the man's arm. He cried out in pain, obviously. His blood splattered on my face, my clothes..
Some of the Mayans who weren't familar with me looked at me in terror, my father simply shook his head and Miguel sighed, shaking his head.
"Nicole... we have people for that. " he spoke, but I put my hand up.
"He basically took food out of Cristobal's tummy. It needed to be done. Besides.. pigtails over there shouldn't be the only one to have fun" i replied. I walked back over to Nestor smiling. The look in his eyes was something different and I just stared at him, using his button up to wipe the blood off my face quickly.
"Dont ever doubt me again, pigtails. " I said quietly to him and walked back outside.
This was going to be fun.
I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt and I just can’t anymore. Mayans is done for me. I can’t watch it anymore. And I won’t watch it anymore.
Elgin has destroyed it.
Clay is clearly pulling strings with his BFF Elgin, so now he’s banging his gf on the show. (It’s just creepy). This entire season is about who is riding Angels dick.
Jd Pardo became a producer and now EZ has this meteoric rise from Prospect in Season 1 to VP by season 4.
They’ve destroyed Bishop… not to mention Taza.
They’ve run Richy off the show and had to off Coco with no story and no respect.
It doesn’t feel like there is an actual storyline at all.
I miss Kurt Sutter, I miss his storyline’s and his version of these characters.
You didn’t go over the boarder much, not as much as you used too, but when you did for medical aid, you always visited the ministry to deliver a parcel for your mum’s best friend and your Aunty. When you had contacted her that you were coming, she asked for a few other things for you to bring, and although you had your suspicions of who they were for, you didn’t think it was possible after the families down fall. Your Aunty linked arms with you as you both walked down the dirt path and your Aunty was unusually quiet,
“Tia, what’s wrong?”
“Mi amor, I can trust you, Si?”
“Of course, Tia, what kind of question is that?”
“I need to know you won’t say anything, to anyone. Even when you get home, do you understand me?”
“Yes”
“Do you understand me Y/N?”
“Yes Tia, of course”
“He wanted to see you”
“Who?” you looked down at her.
Your Aunty nodded her head towards a man kneeling down juggling rocks. Your eyes ran over his sweat-stained cloths, sun kissed skin and then up to the full-faced beard and head full of long black curls. Your eyes then met his and you gasped, pulling your arm out of hers and you ran towards him. Miguel dropped the rocks in the dust and stood up, slowly walking towards you with his arms opened wide. Miguel almost lost his balance when you jumped up on him, your arms wrapping around his neck, your legs around his middle and his arms around your middle holding you up,
“I thought you were dead” you sobbed out.
Miguel pulled you in even closer to his body, nuzzling his very hairy face into your neck,
“You smell so clean” he let out a little chuckle.
You giggled pulling back from him and loosening your legs from around him to stand,
“Glad to see the old man can still lift me up after all these years”
“Always” Miguel winked at you.
“I brought everything Tia asked for”
“Did you know it was for me?” Miguel smiled at you and then kissed your forehead.
“We’ve known each other since we were in diapers, of course I did”
Miguel laughed again, hocking an arm around your neck as you both started to walk back to the  ministry house,
“That’s my girl”
Lucky Charm
Coco Cruz x F!Reader
Warnings: 18+, fluff
With the help of This Prompt List by @creativepromptsforwriting and my trusty Wheel of Names with every character I’ve ever written for, I’m aiming to write a fic in 500 words or less every day of March. We’ll see how far we get!
Prompt: four-leaf clover
Word Count: 500
A/N: It's been so long since I've written for Coco but this was such a fun little tidbit to make for him 🥰
Tumblr media
There were a lot of things that Coco believed in, but he wasn’t sure if luck was one of them. He was a big believer in fate, that all things both good and bad had to happen to get you where you needed to go. Luck always felt synonymous with chance and that didn’t sit right with him, especially when he thought about you, about the daughter you shared.
It wasn’t until he was elbow-deep in the hood of his car and she came bursting in the garage with a four-leaf clover pinched tightly between her fingers that he really started to buy into it. She was just so little, so excited as she skidded to a stop a few inches away from him.
“Dad!” she said, bouncing on the balls of her feet.
He looked over at her, stray curls falling into his face as he did. He raised his eyebrows as he looked between you standing in the doorway of the garage and the little girl standing in front of him.
Setting down the wrench in his hand, he wiped his hands off on his jeans before crouching to get to her level. “What’s this?”
“A four-leaf clover!” she said, volume increasing along with her excitement levels. “Mama said they’re good luck!”
A smirk curled his lips as he spared you a glance. “Oh yeah?”
“Yeah!” She moved it closer to his face, almost close enough so that he would have to cross his eyes to try and see it properly. “Here! For you.”
“Me?” he asked with a laugh, hand pressing against his chest in a gesture to himself.
“You!” She pressed the clover against the back of his hand, prompting him to turn it so that he could take it from her. “A good luck charm.”
He chuckled as he looked at it in his palm. “Ah, I got you and your Mama over there—I already got more luck than I need.”
“That’s luck you can take with you,” she stated it so matter of factly that he didn’t have any room to argue the point.
“Guess I will then, huh?”
She nodded, pleased with the outcome. She stepped in and threw her arms around him in a hug before taking off back towards the door. “I’m gonna go look for more! Bye! Love you!”
He laughed, calling after her as he stood up and made his way over to you, “Love you back!” He shook his head as he looked at the plant in his hand then back up at you. “Good luck charm, huh?”
You laughed, resting your hands on his shoulders. “I just told her what it was. The rest was all her.”
He smiled and shook his head. “I don’t know if I buy that.”
“You’re a lucky man, Johnny Coco Cruz.” You nodded towards the clover in his hand. “You got the proof of it now.”
He laughed as he pulled you tighter against his side. “Can’t argue with that.”
The moment you walk into the clubhouse, the smell of smoke and leather assaults your senses. The atmosphere is smoky, the air heavy with the cigarette fog swallowing the entire room. In the background, the clicking of pool balls and the murmur of conversations can be heard, the smell and environment already making you feel a little dizzy as the door opens and shuts behind you.
You force yourself to move forward as the members of the MC raise their glasses and nod in welcome to your arrival. You greet them with a warm smile like always, then look around the room in search of your beloved’s face. You can almost see him talking with his friends in the crowd, an unopened beer bottle in his tattooed hand.
But he’s not there. It’s just your imagination playing tricks on you.
Bishop must’ve noticed the way your eyes wander around the room in search of a ghost. He stands up from his sitting place, grabs your arm, and pulls you toward one of the couches. You slump down against it, sighing heavily.
“Querida,” he starts, sitting down beside you, his arm outstretched, beckoning you closer.
You shake your head to will the dark thoughts away, then relax against his side, your cheek finding rest on his shoulder.
“Bishop,” you greet him back with a smile.
“You’ve popped,” the man notices with a chuckle, looking down at the roundness of your protruding stomach.
“Oh, definitely. I woke up one day, looked in the mirror, and thought she doubled in there,” you mumble with a huff, but there’s a lightness to your voice.
Bishop admires your strength—how you can still see the world in colors even when your life is falling apart. It baffles him. He wishes he had that kind of strength himself.
He smiles at you, pulling you just a little bit closer. “She?” he repeats, raising his brow.
You smile brightly at him, caressing the bump with gentle, loving strokes. “Yeah, it’s a little girl.”
But your smile falters ever so lightly when you think about the fact that Neron still doesn’t know that the doctors were wrong and you were going to have a little daughter instead of a son. He won’t even be there when you give birth. He’ll still be behind bars, far away from your baby girl.
Bishop notices the change in your expression and grasps your hand in his, squeezing delicately. “He’s proud of you, you know that. We’re all proud of you.”
You can only nod in response, blinking away the tears that started forming in your eyes. You weren’t as strong as they all wanted you to be. You were just about to become a mom—a single mom because your husband won’t be there for most of the baby’s early years. You’ll be lucky if he gets out when she’s a teenager.
“Yeah, just wish his child was more important than the club,” you whisper under your breath, quickly regretting your words. But Bishop looks at you with understanding, no ounce of anger on his face. “Well, I actually came here looking for EZ. Is he around?”
“He’s not around. But he should be back soon. Do you wanna wait for him?” he asks, kissing the side of your forehead. “I can get you some water and keep you company.”
You stay with him, conversing to kill time as you wait for the club’s president to turn up. The older man keeps you occupied, talking a little bit about everything—how long until the baby comes, if you need help setting up the nursery, is your money situation looking okay—Bishop asks about everything in hopes the MC can make your life a little bit easier.
An hour or two passes before Ezekiel walks into the clubhouse. He looks around the room and doesn’t expect to see you there. Your presence startles him.
His eyes stare intently as you talk with Bishop, one of your hands mindlessly caressing your protruding stomach, waiting for the baby to kick. The other man hovers his hand close, ready for you to guide it so he can feel the little kick.
EZ feels the guilt—it comes up his throat and makes him nauseous. You’ve been friends for so long, and you don’t even know just how bad of a friend he was.
He ordered the murder of your husband. He took away the father of your baby—the man you loved with your whole being. He took his life and didn’t even give a second thought to how it would affect you—how much it would ruin your life.
The baby in your stomach starts kicking, so you take Bishop’s hand and press it against it. Ezekiel still stares, but he’s too far gone in his thoughts to register what’s happening.
“She’s kicking.” Your smile is bright, and it gives him a tiny bit of hope that Neron’s death won’t make you miserable for the rest of your life.
He forces his legs to move forward, swallowing the want to throw up all over the wooden floor. With a forced nervous smile, he reaches the couch.
“Is she?” the words tumble out of his mouth before he can stop them.
You sit up straighter, surprised by his sudden appearance. The smile you give him is innocent—unknowing.
“Hi, EZ.”
He returns it, but it’s weak and awkward, and he’s sure you can feel just how out of place he felt in his own clubhouse.
“Hi.”
Bishop senses the sudden shift in the air. He gets up and presses a kiss to your cheek, his beard ticklish on your skin. He regards the younger man with suspicious eyes. “I’ll leave you to it,” he says finally as he leaves you with the club’s president, heading towards the exit of the building.
“I haven’t seen you in a while,” you notice, patting the couch where Bishop once sat to beckon Ezekiel to take his place.
The man scratches the back of his head awkwardly. “Yeah… I was busy with the—” he’s lost in his own words as he gestures vaguely to the clubhouse, “the thing.”
You raise your eyebrow at him, crossing your arms over your chest. “Oh, definitely,” you joke, “the thing always requires attention.”
He laughs at your words, but it has a forced quality to it. The joke isn’t that funny. You know it, and he knows it too, but you wave it off, thinking he didn’t want to make the conversation more uncomfortable than it already was by giving you the details.
“Yeah.” He sighs deeply. “We’ve got it under control, though,” he continues, and you respond with a nod, your eyes not quite meeting his.
“Have you heard anything from Neron?”
So that’s what you came here to ask—EZ thinks. It was logical. You barely needed the MC’s help, preferring to get stuff done on your own, mainly because you didn’t want to add to their problems. You always held your head high.
“He’s been quiet for a while now,” Ezekiel tenses in his seat as the words leave your mouth.
He can almost feel the crickets playing a symphony in his head. He doesn’t know what to say or do, so he opts for a simple lie—he is getting better at them with every passing day. “No, I haven’t heard anything.”
“Damn it.” Your sigh clenches his heart painfully. “Those cops are probably harassing him again.”
“Probably,” he agrees with you, scratching his chin for a second as he glances at your face. “You’ve heard nothing at all?”
“Nothing. He doesn’t call anymore.” The tone of your voice changes, and he can feel the heartbreak—the agony that those words render.
EZ takes a deep breath and forces a smile. “He’ll call. I’m sure he will.” A fucking liar; that’s what he is.
“I hope so. We’re so close to the birth date. I wanted him to know that.”
He doesn’t know how to reply, so he gives your hand a gentle squeeze. He was always good at lying, but why was it so hard to lie to you?
He tries to smile more warmly—look more warmly at you, but all you can see in his eyes is pity. It drives you insane.
“EZ, is there something you’re not telling me?” your voice screams suspicion. He starts to get nervous.
“No, of course not.” He looks at you hard, hoping you’ll believe his lie. It takes a moment for you to process what you see and hear before the suspicious glint falters and falls.
“Oh, okay.” you sigh in sadness. You have a feeling he knows something, but you’re not willing to push it. “He was supposed to choose the name.”
Another gentle squeeze of your hand. “He will come through. Don’t worry.”
You believe him. “You’re right. I’m probably just overthinking.”
EZ nods his head in agreement. “You’re just stressing yourself out; it’s not worth it.” There’s a pause as he kisses your temple, then speaks again, changing the topic slightly, “How have you been doing? Everything going alright with the pregnancy?”
“Yeah, we’re doing good. The nausea went away.” His still didn’t. “Now I’m just running to the bathroom every three minutes. Girl makes me wanna piss so bad.” You let out a chuckle—such a beautiful and peaceful sound. EZ feels like he could record it and play it over and over again before he falls asleep.
“That’s good… and exhausting.” He’s starting to feel more at ease again. You seem to be distracted and not noticing how oddly nervous he’s been acting, or even if you did see, you let him have the upper hand.
“It is exhausting. But we’re gonna get through it. For Neron.”
He nods in agreement. “For Neron.”
Such a beautiful betrayal.
Tumblr media
The next time you see EZ, a few days have passed. The whole MC knows about Neron’s death, but not you—not yet. He lets you live in a state of not knowing just for a few more minutes before he knocks on your door and gives you the information that will ruin your life. Oh, wait, he did that—he ruined it by choosing to protect himself, get rid of the snitch. Snitches end up in ditches—they were right.
He raises his fist, presses the buzzer, and he can almost hear the heavy pats of your feet as you rush toward the door. You open it and greet him with a smile. You’ve looked through the Judas beforehand—smart girl.
“EZ?” That carefree smile falters as you notice the seriousness decorating his face. Your hand grips the doorknob tighter, knuckles turning pale.
EZ sighs and hangs his head. “You need to sit down.”
“What the fuck happened?” you ask, but EZ doesn’t respond.
He turns you around, closing the door before gently pushing you towards the living room and the couch in the middle. You listen to him and sit down, waiting for him to speak. Your leg bounces up and down in worry. The dark thoughts swirling in your head make you want to crawl out of your skin.
EZ cuts straight to the point. He knows you’d only get furious if he tried to tread around the issue.
“Neron’s dead,” he says simply—as if to just get the words out of his mouth. They leave a foul taste on his tongue. He’s not even looking at you because he knows already how badly he fucked up. He can hear your heart breaking into a million pieces as your brain struggles to register that information.
When it finally hits you, you gasp trembly.
“No. No, he’s not,” you try to deny his words, shaking your head furiously. Tears are already building up in your eyes, and they’re falling down in waterfalls down your cheeks before EZ can reach to wipe them away.
“I’m so fucking sorry. It’s my fault.” He sits beside you and takes your hand, raising it to his lips. He leaves a kiss on every single tip of your fingers. “I killed him. It’s all my fucking fault.”
The sobs wreck through your body like a tsunami, and you drown beneath their intensity as you cradle your bump. You don’t even hear him. You refuse to hear him.
EZ wraps his arms around your shoulders and pulls you into his embrace, his hand cradling the back of your head as he pushes it to rest on his chest. He can’t look at you so broken—so destroyed.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
His other palm rubs your back up and down in a motion that is supposed to be soothing, but it doesn’t do shit to make it hurt less. You let him comfort you, giving into his embrace as you weep and clutch the back of his kutte in tight fists.
EZ sits that way with you for a while, rubbing your back and keeping you close. He doesn’t speak, only offers his presence and affection as comfort. He knows if he opens his mouth again, he’ll admit to what he’s done—this time for real.
“How am I supposed to go on?” You sob into his chest, your whole body trembling.
EZ just holds you tighter, his lips pressed to the crown of your head. “One day at a time.”
“I’m supposed to raise our daughter on my own? That’s so fucking cruel. Why did the world take him away from me?” your words are almost muffled as you get them out through the tears and sobs.
He looks down at you, his face etched with guilt. He’s glad your head is pressed to his chest and you can’t see it. You’d put the puzzle pieces together faster than he could mutter a single word.
He rubs his thumb back and forth between your shoulder blades. “I don’t know. But you’re strong. I know you’re strong enough to get through this.”
He puts on a facade before placing a hand under your chin and lifting it so you can look him in the eye. “I know you are.”
“No, Ezekiel, I’m not. I can’t do this,” you argue, shaking your head furiously. “I want him back,” you cry out, and it breaks his heart even more. It was his fault. He did this to you.
“I know. I know.” EZ says this over and over again, rubbing circles on your back.
He stays the night, cradling you in his arms as you sob and scream. And then he stays another night and another day keeping you company and helping with daily tasks. You don’t even realize that weeks have passed, and he’s still there when you wake up and when you go to sleep.
He’s there holding your hand when your little girl is born and when she says her first word. He never left, taking on the role of being a dad figure for your child. It felt wrong, but you never stopped him, either.
You didn’t stop him when one night his lips found peace pressed against yours and when he rolled on top of you, giving you pleasure you haven’t felt for a long while. You didn’t stop him when he moved in and became a constant presence in your baby’s life. Before you even knew it, she was calling him ‘papa.’ It made your heart clench painfully.
EZ took the opportunity and treated it as his only chance at redemption. He wanted to give you the life you wanted to have with the man he took away from you.
Sometimes the guilt was too much, and he had to leave for a few days to get it back under control. But he always came back.
He was good at lying, after all—lying with his hands covered in blood. Such a beautiful betrayal.
Commission Job
Nestor Oceteva x F!Galindo!Reader
Day 19 from these April Prompts: A Commission Job
Summary: Part 2 to Minimum Wage, but can be read as a standalone. After Miguel orders a hit on Nestor, he comes crashing at your doorstep.
Words: 2.5k
Warnings: Angsty af. Mentions of blood, killing, death, murder, all canon level thangggs ya know.
Mayans Taglist: @drabbles-mc @narcolini @justreblogginfics
Part 1
Tumblr media
You wished you ignored the doorbell and the persistent knocking. That was the lie you were telling yourself as the two parts of your brain argued against each other on what to do with the disheveled man at your doorstep. The part of you who had been living in this small town under a new name with no ties to your old life was fighting with the other part of your brain that hadn’t been functional in years… the Galindo in you.
The initial shock of seeing Nestor bruised and bloody on your doorstep was gone in seconds. You didn’t ask questions, you just brought him inside and into the coat closet.
“Wrong house!” You called out to the company you had over that was currently in the kitchen halfway through dinner as you shoved Nestor into the closet and shut the door. He didn’t say anything either, he just followed your suit.
“You know, I’m not feeling so hot.” You made your way back to your kitchen bar and made a scrunched up face. “Getting up made me realize I’m feeling kind of blah.” You were easily falling into the lie, your Galindo traits rising back up from the ashes.
Your date was making their way down the hallway, disappointment all over their face as they did whatever they could to change your mind. Little did they know that the half broken man in your closet was not going to make that happen.
After your company left you moved immediately to the closet and opened the door to see Nestor sitting on the cubbies you had as storage.
“You think you can make it to the bathroom? It’s upstairs.” You would ask questions later, but right now you were prioritizing.
“Yea.” His voice was rough and more raspy than normal but it brought your heart up to your throat. Seeing him caused you to go into reaction mode but hearing him speak for the first time caused you to want to throw up.
You brought your arm around his torso and his arm instinctually went around your shoulder as you trudged upstairs. Luckily, it wasn’t many steps before you were in the bathroom. It was obvious that he wasn’t putting all his weight on you but once he was seated on the closed lid toilet you could see his body collapsed in exhaustion.
Black eye, deep scratch over his cheek bone, probably some broken ribs from the way he was limping. That was the bulk of the damage you were able to clock by looking at him. With a deep breath you opened the cabinets below the sink and pulled out the first aid kit.
“I’m gonna need you to lift your shirt up.”
Nestor obliged, it was then that you realized he wasn’t in his normal outfit of a button up and slacks but a t-shirt and jeans. You frowned but quickly moved to look at the bruising and cuts on his abdomen.
“Great, more open wounds.” You mumbled as you bent down to clean up the dried blood around the cuts. You both sat in silence for a while as you cleaned up the cuts and gave Nestor a cold washcloth to hold against the bruising until you could go downstairs and grab an ice pack.
“You need stitches.” You pointed to his face as you sat on the edge of your tub. “I don’t have the tools for that but I can give you a butterfly bandage.” Your voice was monotone as you spoke.
“That’s fine.” His voice still deep and raspy.
With a nod you were leaning over him and grabbing the bandage from the kit and applying it to his face. His breath was hot against your face as you got close to adjust the open cut with the bandage. Quick to move back you looked back down at his ribs.
“Let me get you an ice pack.”
Before he could say anything you were up and out of the bathroom and picking up your pace down the stairs. It was an opportunity to truly ask yourself what the fuck was happening. It had been years since you saw Nestor. Suddenly everything was hitting you. How did he know where you lived? Why was he here? Who beat him up this bad? Why didn’t he go to Miguel? Did Miguel know where you were?
It was overwhelming to say the least, you started to get angry but then you thought about Nestor’s helpless being upstairs and it disappeared instantly. The only way you knew you were going to get answers was to ask him, and if things were even remotely the same as they were years ago, you knew that wasn’t a guarantee either, but you had to try.
As you walked back to the bathroom you saw Nestor struggling to stand up.
“Woah, what are you–” Your feet moved quickly on the bathroom tile and before you could finish your statement he was collapsing into your arms taking the wind out of you. “C’mon, sit back down.” A large groan came from the both of you as you took on his full body weight now and attempted to place him back down on the toilet. The pain from his injuries and your shitty attempt to placing him carefully back down causing him to react in agony.
“Take this.” The medicine cabinet was opening as you shuffled through your things and pulled out an old prescription of some pain medicine. You handed him two pills and filled up a dixie cup with water after he tossed them in his mouth.
You stared down at him, your mind finding itself back in that same place it was downstairs.
“I need something.”
Those were the words you decided to lead with. Not what the fuck is happening. Not what the fuck is going on. No. You decided that you’d go into this the way you knew worked best with Nestor. Meeting him at his own place of comfort. It wasn’t fair, he came to your house, which was still unclear how, but he was the one barely able to stand in your bathroom right now so, sure, you’d give him a break.
“Mikey has a hit out on me.”
Now you were the one barely able to stand. You stabled yourself by gripping the bathroom counter.
“Come again?” You frowned. It was shocking to hear Nestor so easily give up information and to hear THAT information was cause enough for you to feel like you were going to throw up.
“Your brother hired someone to kill me. A commissioned job.” He said it again, this time more explanatory and it only made your stomach pit tighten more.
“Wh– Uh– How?” You started to stutter, you weren’t able to take in that information. You prided yourself on your ability to take in all sorts of information, coming from the Galindo family where your father and brother lied and killed and manipulated, nothing came as a shock to you. For God’s sakes the braided man in front of you knocked on your door, that he shouldn’t have known about, bloodied and bruised and you brought him in with no words or question. But this? This was unexpected.
“Your mom. She’s dead. He, uh, isn’t doing too good. He killed Paco. Right in front of me. In front of Marcus.” Nestor’s voice was rattled. It was how you knew that this wasn’t a normal situation, not that Nestor telling you your brother put a hit on him was normal but you were searching for anything right now.
“Marcus?” You questioned completely ignoring the part about your mother, your voice just as rattled as his.
“Consejero.” Nestor let out a deep breath as he remembered you had no idea about anything.
“Nestor, what the fuck is going on.” The rattled tone changed to desperate and before he answered you heard a knock at your door. It was firm and loud, and it matched your heart beat.
Nestor was standing up like none of his injuries existed, if you were thinking logically, you would have chalked it up to adrenaline but right now you just felt your whole life crashing down on you.
So many thoughts in such little time. You didn’t ask for this. Nestor came to your doorstep and now you were dealing with the aftermath of that. You’d kill Miguel. Galindo habits die hard, but your will to protect yourself from them would go down harder. Nestor was quick to grab the gun from under the bathroom sink that he probably clocked earlier but like you said, Galindo habits die hard and he knew you probably had one stored in each room of the house.
He was making his way down the stairs, way faster than when he arrived. He peaked through the peep hole and immediately his shoulders relaxed and he opened the door, quick to fall back on the steps.
Now, there was a stoic tall man in a button up t-shirt and slacks standing in your foyer as Nestor laid collapsed on the bottom step and you at the very top staring down to both men.
“Marcus.” Nestor pointed to Marcus in his way of introducing you.
“I’d say nice to meet you but this is fucked.” You made your way down the stairs to grab the gun from Nestor and situate him in a better position. “I’ll be taking this for now.” You put the safety back on and placed the gun in your back waistband before picking Nestor up against the wall. “Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on and how the fuck you knew where I was?” It was essentially two questions, one was pointed at Marcus and one was pointed at Nestor.
“I’m sorry to barge into your home like this.” Marcus said like it was the beginning to an explanation but just looked at Nestor to respond.
“She knows.” Nestor breathed out the two words.
Marcus nodded. “Well then, you know everything we do.”
You raised your eyebrows and let out a laugh. “Respectfully, I think the fuck I don’t.”
Marcus was glaring at Nestor again, not wanting to get anymore involved in this than he already was.
“I knew where you were, found you a few months after you left. Never told Miguel.” Nestor’s eyes were closed as his chest raised and fell with his deep breaths.
You were speechless which was Nestor’s invitation to keep talking.
“I got attacked. Your brother, ordered the hit on me. He’s pissed about your mom.”
Your mom. When Nestor mentioned it before it slipped out of your mind over the thought that your brother ordered a hit on his best friend.
“She was murdered. Not sure by who but he blames us all. I got away, laid low, told Marcus to meet me here.”
“How do I know you weren’t followed.” You snapped your head to look at Marcus who was still standing stoic in your entryway.
“I wasn’t.” His voice was steady. You believed him, there wasn’t anything you could do if you didn’t but the way he was handling this right now was better than you expected from someone you’d never met.
You sat in the silence for a minute, taking everything in before shaking it all off, letting the Galindo fall right back into place.
“So what the fuck do we do now?” You looked straight at Marcus as you asked, knowing Nestor called him here for a reason and if he trusted him you should too.
“We run.” His advice was chaotic but it was spoken so confidently that you didn’t have an ounce of doubt in you. Maybe it was because running was a life you knew about pretty well, it was comfortable. It was safe, ironically. “But for now, let’s get him to a couch, we’ll head out in a few hours.”
You nodded in agreement as Marcus walked over to help you bring Nestor to your living room. Placing him on the couch you both stood over him. After a moment you looked over at Marcus and introduced yourself giving him your name.
“Miguel’s sister.” You specified even more. Before the two of you could speak more, Nestor was mumbling under his breath.
“What?” You placed your attention on him.
“Before I showed up. Were you on a date?” Nestor grumbled, the pain medicine obviously kicking in.
Embarrassed, you snapped your head towards Marcus who was quick to look away.
“I’ll, uh.” Marcus pointed towards the kitchen and quickly made himself scarce leaving you and Nestor in the living room.
“Not a very good one if this was the highlight of my night.” Your voice was annoyed but you spoke the truth.
Nestor smiled at your response. It was a mix of pride and also relief. “Maybe, when this is all over, I can take you on a date.”
His voice was slurring, it was another empty promise, you knew that, but you also knew that he meant it.
“You should get some rest, Nes.” As your hand swayed next to him, he grabbed it.
“Promise me that you’ll give me a chance.”
You froze at his touch but then nodded. If he could give you an empty promise, you should be able to also.
“I promise.”
Lost Princessa: Meet the Reaper 18
Phew... this one is a doozy. I typed too much at once. Guess you'll just get to see a little more than planned in this chapter. Oops... not really. Enjoy!
Warnings: cussing, talk of gun running, talk of weapons, talk of illegal transport of goods, some mild make-out session... Let me know if I missed anything. I'm too tired to think about what I typed lol.
Tumblr media
After a quick pit stop to buy burritos from Mama’s favorite food truck, they pulled in to the driveway at her house. She was waiting for them on the front porch swing.
Hank got out and came to let Megan out too, taking the paper bag of food from her. Then he sat her seat forward to let Rex out. Megan had put his new harness and leash on him before they left the house, and she led him up the steps to meet Mama.
“Hi Mama,” Megan greeted with a smile. “Meet Rex.” She knelt to introduce Mama to the big dog who watched her with a doggy grin.
“Oh Cariño, you look so much happier. I’m glad the trip was good for you.” The older woman smiled and offered her hand to the big dog. “And this fine boy- Rex did you say? He’s beautiful, mija.”
Rex sniffed Mama’s hand politely, but his cropped tail never stopped wagging so hard his hind end moved.
“And so polite! Where’d he come from?” Mama stepped up to hug Megan.
A friend of Hank’s up north rescued him. He thought he’d suit me and he was right.” Megan giggled and accepted the hug
Hank came up the stairs shaking his head and laughing. “No welcome home for your own son, Mama? I even brought food.”
“Oh- you! Don’t tease your Mama!” She kissed his cheek when he bent to offer it.
Hank smiled and kissed her hair. “Te amo, Mama. I’m just joking.”
“Let’s go inside to eat,” Mama suggested. “I made some lemonade and tea. We can introduce your big baby to Chi-Chi.”
Inside, Megan warily introduced Rex to Chi-Chi. She wasn’t sure how he’d do with the small dog. She shouldn’t have been worried. Rex was terrified of the chihuahua. He hid behind Megan’s legs until Chi-Chi laid down.
After they caught up over lunch, Mama smiled. “I’m so glad you’re better out of that cast, Cariño. And your color is better too. Are you staying ahead of the pain with your medicine?
“Yes, ma’am. Hank makes sure of it.” Megan smiled at Hank who was sitting back in his chair just listening with a grin as the two most important people in his life chatted.
“Good. Now - I know you didn’t want a big deal for your birthday. I also know that Che and Hank didn’t exactly go along with that idea.” Mama winked at Hank. “But I have something for you too.”
“You didn’t have to do that Mama…” Megan started.
“Maybe not, but I did.” She reached behind her and retrieved a leather bound book. She handed it to Megan with a smile. “Feliz Cumpleaños, hija.”
Megan took the book carefully and opened it. It was very old. It was a recipe book. A handwritten one. Megan ran gentle fingers over the pages. “Is this…”
“My copy of the family recipe book. You love learning to cook new things - and you’ve shared recipes with me. Now it’s my turn.” Mama smiled gently at her and patted her hand. “Besides - there are tricks in there. Ones that will help you as you learn your culture from the ground up.” Mama flipped to the back to show her blank pages. “And this is where you add your own.”
Megan’s eyes teared as she saw where Mama had penned her name at the top of the page. “Are you sure?” she sniffed.
“Very. And that ring on your finger says my Hank is sure too.” Mama stood to kiss Megan on the forehead. “Eres familia. Always.”
Megan leaned into the affection from the older woman and closed her eyes. “Thank you, Mama.”
“De nada.”
Hank smiled gratefully at his mother as she cuddled the love of his life. He petted Rex and let them have their moment.
Soon, Mama patted Megan’s hair and went to take her seat again. “Now - what did Hank get you, Hija? It better have been good.”
Megan giggled and wiped her eyes before she began listing things she’d received as gifts. Mama admired her earrings and her charm bracelet.
“St. Agnes was also my patron saint as a young woman,” Mama explained. “I have her story somewhere around here. I’ll find it for you. I think I still have a rosary and some jewelry too…”
Hank’s phone buzzed and he checked it. “Alright, mi reina. That was your papa. Your guests should begin arriving in the next half-hour or so. We should get to the clubhouse.”
“Yes. Don’t be late for your own party, Cariño. I’ll see you in a few days.” Mama kissed her cheek. “Go. Have fun.”
“Thank you, Mama.” Megan stood and Rex came to heel. “I’ll call you tomorrow.”
“Te amo, Cariño.” Mama kissed Hank as well. “Te amo, hijo. Take care of her.”
“I will, Mama. Te amo. Call if you need us.”
Megan carefully placed her recipe book in the glove box to keep it clean.
“Are you happy, mi amore?” Hank asked as he helped to buckle her seatbelt.
Megan smiled brilliantly at him. “Very. I got a Mom for my birthday.”
Hank chuckled. “I don’t know how I’ll top that next year.”
Megan kissed him softly. “Me either.”
They pulled up to the clubhouse and found Taza waiting for them outside. They could see a lot of movement through the windows, but other than that, the yard was very quiet.
Megan left Rex’s harness on and stuck his leash in her thigh bag before they got out.
“Ah. There you are, Chica. The Reaper should be here any minute with Oakland right behind them,” Taza said as he opened her car door. “Did you enjoy your visit with Mama?”
Megan hugged him tightly. “It was great. She gave me the Loza family recipe book.”
Taza eyebrows hit his hairline and he looked to Hank with a grin. “Really now. That is great.” He kissed her forehead. Rex bounded up to greet Taza too, so Taza scratched his ears for him.
“So - is the plan the same as it was last night? Templo and then party?” Megan asked him.
“Yeah. The same. There will be so many people there for Templo that it’ll probably be senior officers only at the table.” Taza explained, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and guiding her towards the stairs.
“Oh. Guess I’ll stand with Coco or Creeper,” Megan said with a little shrug.
Hank chuckled. “You are a senior officer, Princessa. Especially when it comes to the guns. They’re going to be YOUR specialty.”
Megan paused and looked to her father. “Really?”
Inside was swarming with activity as finishing touches were put on the food and decor. Vickie paused on the way through to the bar to tell Megan happy birthday. Gilly was holding the ladder for Coco who was hanging what looked like a giant banner. EZ was stocking the reserve coolers behind the bar and Angel - well he seemed to be flirting hard with a pretty blonde who was wearing way less than the weather called for.
“Really, Chica. Santo Padre Armorer. That puts you at the table.” He paused and opened the door to the clubhouse.
“Where are the tíos?” Megan asked Taza as Rex went to investigate his new dog bed in the corner.
“Templo. I think they’re hiding so Vickie doesn’t make them clean something.”
Megan giggled at the thought. “Alright. I’m going to go say hello.” She kissed Taza’s cheek and then gave Hank a kiss as well before turning to go to the sliding glass door. She knocked as was granted entry - sliding the door closed behind her.
Taza smirked at Hank. “So the family recipe book already?”
Hank smiled and stuffed his hands in his jeans pockets. “Yep. She didn’t even scold me over Megan’s ring.”
Taza laughed. “Why would she? It’s a promise ring, not an engagement ring.”
Hank chuckled. “Same thing to Mama. Though I’m sure she’ll have plenty to say if I don’t replace it with something larger eventually.” He shrugged a little. “What can I say, Taza? Mama knows when my mind’s made up.”
That made Taza nod and smile. “Good. She needs that stability. Just don’t fuck it up and make me shoot you, Hermano.”
“I won’t.”
There was a rumble of bikers in the distance that made everyone pause. The temple door slid open, and BIshop walked out with an arm around Megan’s shoulders followed by Marcus. Megan was much more relaxed on her home turf.
They all headed outside to greet their visitors. Megan slipped over to stand between Hank and Taza as the gate opened.
Five bikes rolled through the gate that was manned by Creeper at the moment. None of the bikes had the signature look of Mayan bikes. They were all Dynas and one of them carried double. The Reaper had landed.
The dust cleared as the riders dismounted and started stripping off helmets and riding gloves. Megan recognized Chibs, Tig, Venus and the big guy that they called Quinn, but the other two riders were only vague memories. She hadn’t actually met them, but she’d seen them at the lodge. One of them had a prospect patch. The other, she thought, was T.O. He was the only black man she knew of who wore the reaper patch.
The Samcro delegation came forward to greet everyone. Marcus - as ranking member greeted Chibs first. By the time the greetings got to Megan, she’d already accepted a big hug from Venus.
“There’s tha’ lass! How’s ya arm?” Chibs asked, hugging Megan gently.
“Better now that the cast is off. It was causing most of my issues.” Megan said as she hugged the tall Scotsman back. “Still in the soft cast and sling, but not for as long as before.”
“Good ta hear. And… what’s this?” He took Megan’s good hand and spun her slowly so he could see her kutte. “Bylaws changed?”
Bishop laughed. “Nah. Loophole.”
Marcus nodded. “She’s a non-voting officer for the SanPad charter.”
Tig whistled, impressed. “Armorer, huh? Can you handle a weapon, Little Bit? More than your pistol, I mean.”
Megan grinned a little wolfishly. “More than you’ll ever find out.”
“At least you better hope so,” Taza said with a chuckle.
The thunder of more bikes interrupted their conversation. Bikes poured in through the gate, followed by Diana’s Escalade, and then a few more bikes.
Marcus chuckled. “Gentlemen, Poquito, Venus - excuse me. Mi Reina and mi princessa have arrived.” He patted Tig’s shoulder and started towards the large car, only to have the back door fly open. Two steps later, he grunted as a small purple blur collided with him chattering a mile a minute. Megan giggled as Diana got out at a much more sedate pace.
Marco and José went to greet their brothers.
After all parties had refreshment and Tessa had a chance to talk to her prima and tíos, Marcus nodded at Bishop. Even though Marcus technically out ranked Bishop - they were on Santo Padre turf, so Bishop would lead this odd version of Grand Templo.
A shrill whistle cut through the air, and all the members of all three charters filed into the temple. A second chair was at the head of the table and similar on was at the foot. Marcus and Bishop took their positions and Chibs took his place at the foot of the table. The current president of the Oakland Charted and his officers - as well as Marcus and José took seats on the side of the table where Marcus sat. Taza took his place beside Bishop, then turned to smile at Megan. There were curious whispers throughout the room when they realized Megan was in the temple. Hank ignored them and escorted her to the chair next to her father before taking his own between her and Riz. Everyone settled quickly when the gavel fell, and all eyes turned to Bishop.
“Alright. Now that we’re all here, let’s get started. There’s one hell of a party waiting on us out there.” Bishop sat forward with a grin. “Now, some of you have noticed the addition to our table. La Princessa de los Mayas has taken her place as a non-voting officer of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre Charter. Megan will be our Armorer and be responsible for all weaponry that passes through SanPad. She’ll work closely with the officers to assure inventory is kept.”
He paused to glance around the table. “Megan has unique training in multiple weapons and their maintenance. Training we’re going to need as we take on the True IRA contracts.”
Chibs looked to Tig and grinned before he returned his gaze to Bishop. “Found a port, have ya?”
Bishop nodded. “We have. At least if the vote tonight goes the way we hope.” He chuckled again and gestured to Megan. “Alright, Poquito. It’s your action. Bring it to the table.”
Megan swallowed hard, but nodded as she adjusted in her chair to hide her shaking hand. Hank laid a gentle hand on her knee under the table in support. “Santo Padre recently had a meeting with the head of the Galindo cartel. Long story short - to combat the DEA, he has found himself in alliance with Los Olvidados.”
One of the Oakland Mayans standing against the wall interrupted - “But isn’t the LO who you’ve been hunting for months? The same people who took his kid?”
Megan nodded. “Exactly. They decided they needed a third party to mediate and keep everyone honest. That third party is us. It comes with many advantages. One of which was an introduction to Adelita, herself.” She paused to take a sip of water. “At that meeting it occurred to us that an alliance on our own with Adelita comes with even more advantages. Los Olvidados is a vast organization. They control large amounts of government officials on the other side of the border. They are also two thousand soldiers who are used to storing and protecting supplies and weapons at all times.”
Bishop grinned. “And an alliance with the LO protects the M.C. from even more issues when we have to cross over.”
There were nods around the table.
Megan took a deep breath. “So - we met with Adelita - alone, away from Galind. She has agreed to supply the port of entry for the Irish guns, assemble them, and store them on their side of the border. The M.C. handles the buyer and transports. And - she agreed to do it for the twenty percent we had already factored in for the Vatos in the original deal as well as first option to buy when they have a large operation in the works.” Megan smiled and looked around the table.
“At how steep of a discount?” asked the Oakland President.
Marcus chuckled. “That’s the best part… at full price.”
There were surprised mumbles around the table. Men talked quietly among themselves until Bishop sat forward again. “So - any questions?”
“What’s to stop the LO from just taking what they want?” one of the Oakland members asked.
Chibs answered. “Same thing that stopped us - havin’ a club member at tha’ exchange to inventory at the drop to the LO. This does solve things nicely, I will admit. Do we know what port?”
Megan shook her head. “Not yet. We will by the end of the week…”
“If we vote it tonight,” Riz added. “The longer we seesaw - the more likely they are to decide we aren’t worth it.”
Marcus cleared his throat. “It’s a good plan. Solid. It gives us the gun deal with the True IRA and fulfills Jax Teller’s final wishes. It puts Mayans M.C. at the forefront of the two biggest money making trades in the M.C. world. I say we vote it. Now.”
“Seconded,” said the Oakland VP.
“Third,” came from Riz.
“Alright. Every man votes. Oakland or Santo Padre. Do we take on the True IRA gun deal with Los Olvidados as our ally?” Bishop said, looking around the room. “All in favor…”
Hands went up. Some were slower than others, but they went up. Bishop looked around. He couldn’t see any man with his hand still down.
“All opposed?” he asked. Again he scanned the room. He didn’t see any hands. That was really to be expected. Every Mayan had known and planned for the day SoA would hand over the gun trade. Bishop looked to Marcus.
“Unanimous decision. Vote carries,” Marcus stated. Bishop banged the gavel and Megan slumped in relief. Cheers and whoops broke out throughout the temple.
“Good. Now - let’s party!” Bishop stood with a grin.
The celebrating Mayans scattered out the door to claim fresh beers or food leaving only Taza, Bishop, Marcus, and Hank at the table along with Megan. Megan laid her head down on the table and focused on her breathing for a moment.
“Beautiful work, Chica. Beautifully done. A unanimous vote from two charters on your first club action!” Taza laughed gently, patting her back. “Proud of you.”
Hank rubbed her leg under the table letting her calm down.
Marcus and Bishop just laughed with Taza.
Megan finally lifted her head from the table to meet the eyes of the four men who loved her more than life itself. “I really did that, didn’t I?”
“Yes, Poquito. You really did. And I’m just as proud of you now as when you took on Adelita yourself in that meeting,” Bishop assured her.
“Me too, Poquito. You really are proving just how much you love this club,” Marcus said.
The three elder men each stood. “We’re going to go make sure they don’t bring the clubhouse down on top of us. You - take your time. Decompress. Then come join the party,” Bishop said smiling. He dropped a kiss to Megan’s hair. “Proud of you, Poquito.”
Marcus followed his example with a kiss to her forehead. “You deserve that kutte, Bebita. Now come show it off.”
Taza pressed his own kiss to Megan’s temple. “Whenever you’re ready, Chica. See you in a minute.”
They left the room and slid the sliding, stained glass door closed, cutting out some of the noise in the process. Megan breathed a sigh of relief.
Hank chuckled. “They’re right, you know. You were perfect.” He lifted her hand to kiss her ring.
Megan shrugged. “Maybe, but if it all falls apart, they don’t need to look far for who to blame either.”
Hank tugged ehr to her feet as he scooted back from the table. He guided her to stand between his knees so he was looking up into her face. “Mi princessa - if it falls apart, it won’t be for anything you did.” He slipped his hands down to rest on her hips and smiled. “I love you.”
That made her smile. “I love you too.” She leaned down to press a kiss to his lips.
He kissed her back with a chuckle. “Mm. We should probably get out there soon.”
“Yeah. But I think the only ones waiting on us are probably Tessa and maybe Venus.”
Hank laughed again and pressed another kiss to her lips before pulling back. “Maybe so - but if we don’t get out there soon, I might forget that I’m supposed to share you tonight.” He grinned up at her. “You have no idea how sexy it was watching all my brothers realize why you are la princessa.”
Megan rolled her eyes. “I’m le princessa because Taza’s my dad and because of who my tíos are. I had nothing to do with it.”
Hank squeezed her waist gently. “Bullshit. You are A princessa because of your papa and tíos. You are THE princessa because you make this club better. Because you see what we don’t. And because you can use your brain and hold a room full of bikers in awe of you, mi amore.” He nudged her chin with his nose. “Straighten that crown, Princessa and own it. You just saved a lot of lives today. You deserve to be la Princessa de los Mayas.”
She smiled a little. “We’ll see.”
He shook his head. “Alright. You ready?”
“I’d be much more comfortable behind the bar. I’ve never really been to a party before…”
Hank chuckled. “You’ll be alright. He stood and took her hand in his. “Let’s go.”
Out in the bar, Megan laughed as she realized that Tessa had been waiting patiently for her to exit the temple. The little girl immediately attached to Megan’s side. “You okay, Prima?” she asked.
“I’m alright. Just nervous about my first party,” Megan explained to her. “I’m glad you like your jacket though.”
Tessa did a little spin to show off the purple leather jacket Megan had chosen for her on her birthday shopping spree. “I love it!” She showed Megan her little purple Doc Martens. “And Papa bought me boots to match!”
Hank laughed. “Now your prima needs to have matching Docs, huh?”
Tessa squealed and clapped. “Yes! They have SPARKLE ones too! Papa said I could have them if I scored an A on my science test and I know I aced it. Maybe he’ll buy us both a pair!”
Megan laughed at the excited little girl. “I’m not sure sparkle docs will stay very sparkly if I wear them on the bike, Tessa.”
Tessa paused in thought, “So… don’t wear them on the bike…” she stated with a shrug.
Venus overheard her and laughed. “The little princess is right, honey. Some shoes are just for show.” She winked at Tessa. “And I agree with your little cousin - sparkle docs sound perfect for you.”
Tessa nodded decisively. “I’m gonna ask Papa. Be right back!” She scurried off.
“Wait!” Megan tried, but Tessa was already across the room. She groaned and narrowed her eyes at the innocently smiling Venus. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
Venus put on her shocked face and pressed a hand to her chest as if offended. “Bless your heart - I never!”
Hank grinned and sipped his beer with an arm around Megan’s waist. He’d just taken a drink when Megan rolled her eyes again at Venus. “You know - I recognize a Southern ‘fuck you’ when I hear it, right?” she said.
“That’s what makes it so much fun,” Venus said with a wicked grin.
Hank snorted in laughter and choked on his beer.
Tig wandered up with a grin. “Are you ladies trying to choke Hank to death or is that just a kinky thing?”
Hank sputtered and coughed until his airway was clear enough to laugh.
Megan giggled and Venus grinned. “Now Alexander - we would never…”
EZ wandered by with a coke for Megan, which she gladly accepted. Tig noticed. “Little Bit, you okay or just pacing yourself?” he asked, indicating her bottle.
Megan sipped and nodded. “I’m fine. Just not a big drinker.”
Hank guided her back so she could lean against him.
“Fair enough.” Tig smiled.
Megan mingled with Hank, smiling her company smile and accepting happy birthday wishes until Creeper came to her side. Rex had stuck to her like glue and was currently sitting across her feet accepting idle ear scratches, but he perked up as the bald biker approached. “Hey Little Princess, you eaten yet?”
Megan shook her head lightly. “Nah. Been busy being hostess.”
Creeper scoffed. “Girl. You’re supposed to be enjoying your party - not playing nothin’.”
“I’m alright, Creep. I promise,” Megan said quietly, but the strain around her eyes was visible.
Creeper nudged Hank, who had been in a conversation with Marco. “You better get your girl, man. She ain’t eat yet.”
Hank glanced at his watch. “Shit. And she’s over an hour past due for her pain meds,” He looked at Megan. “Mi Reina, I’m sorry. You’ve got to be hurtin’.”
Megan smiled up at him a little shakily. “I’m okay.”
“Brother…” Creeper warned.
“Yeah, I hear her.” Hank said. He excused them from the group they’d been with for a while and led her to a couch in the corner with Creeper following. Hank guided Megan to sit and slid a pillow under her arm. “Now, I know you’re hurting, mi amore. I wish you had said something.” He handed her two pills which she obediently swallowed. “Now - do you want me to make you plate while Creep stays with you or do you want him to do it?”
Megan sighed. “I promise, I’m okay. We can go back to the party.”
Creeper nodded. “Alright. I’ll go get her a plate.” He slipped off, stopping to have a word with Taza on the way by.
Taza turned so that Megan was in his sight as he talked, just in case she needed him, but kept his distance. He didn’t want anyone to see her as weak because he babied her.
Hank squatted in front of Megan and slid one of his hands up to cup the side of her neck gently, guiding her chin up to make her look at him as Rex laid himself across her feet holding her down. “Princessa, you’re shaking and your breath is hitching like before you have a panic attack. What is it?”
Megan leaned into his hand a little and closed her eyes. “We should get back. That’s all.”
Hank leaned forward to press his forehead to hers. “Do you want to go home? If you’re unhappy, we don’t have to stay.”
Megan gave a watery chuckle. “Leave my own birthday party? No. I’m okay.”
“You need to eat, mi amore. Creeper will bring you a plate. We can eat it here, or we can go outside to the picnic table if you’d rather.” He kissed her gently. “Either way.”
“But - I haven’t talked to everyone. I haven’t been a good hostess. I need to be…”
“You need to be sitting your ass down and letting them come to you like the princessa you are, Poquito,” Bishop said, coming up behind Hank. “They come to you. You aren’t the bartender here tonight.” He sat in the armchair nearest her.
“But-”
“No fucking ‘but’.” He lit a cigarette.
Creeper showed up with two plates loaded with food. “Here, Little Princessa. Eat somethin’ Then decide how you wanna spend the rest of your night.” He sat them on the coffee table as Hank moved to sit next to her and pull it closer to her.
Megan hesitantly reached for the fork he’d laid next to the plate. Hank pressed a kiss to her temple. “That’s my girl,” he muttered as she started to nibble.
Bishop stayed planted and people filtered through to talk to him and to those around him as a consequence. Soon, Megan realized her to was right. If she stayed put, people came to her.
Tessa flitted back and forth from their group and wherever her papa and mama were. Letty came and sat awhile, but she eventually got up to go dance with a few of the younger girls from Vickie’s.
About an hour later, Taza walked over smiling. “Are you ready for cake, Chica?”
Megan smiled up at him, more relaxed. “I guess so.”
“Good. Your tía wants to take Tessa home and put her to bed, but the little demon refuses to leave until after cake,” Taza laughed.
That made Megan giggle. “Should have just cut it, Papa. She’ll be even worse after sugar.”
“Can’t cut the birthday cake without the birthday girl, Sweetheart.” He pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I’ll get them to bring it over here. After cake - I think you have a few more gifts to unwrap.”
“But I already opened my gifts!” Megan protested as Taza walked away.
Hank chuckled. “That was before you made your birthday a diplomatic event, mi amore.”
Bishop grinned. “More gifts, Poquito, from new friends.” He sipped his whiskey with a chuckle.
Taza returned to perch on the arm for the couch next to her as Creeper carried the cake towards her with candles lit. A toy motorcycle stood in the center. Megan giggled as she saw the Mayans patch and rocker decorating the icing. Tessa started singing happy birthday and Vickie’s girls picked it up. Before the end of the song, Megan’s face felt like it was on fire.
Marcus smiled at her from the crowd with one arm around Diana and one around Tessa. “Blow out your candles, Poquito. Make a wish.”
Megan smiled and leaned forward before blowing out the candles to the applause of those watching. Taza pressed a kiss to her hair as Hank gave her hand an encouraging squeeze.
Vickie took the cake from Creeper so that the girls and EZ could serve it.
“Well, now that the cake is being cut - Present time!” Venus announced. She bustled forward with a large box wrapped in blue paper. “Here, sweetheart. This one’s from me,” she said with a wink.
Megan laughed and took the box. “Thank you.” She opened it with a smile to find something that she didn’t expect from the first lady of Samcro. Inside were two pairs of cowboy boots, a brown pair and a black pair, along with an off white wool cowboy hat. Megan’s jaw dropped. “Venus - “
The dark haired woman smiled softly. “That night at the party, you mentioned that you rode in rodeos. I looked you up. Then I realized that you would have had to leave all your gear behind…”
Megan stood quickly to wrap her in a tight hug. “Thank you so much.”
Venus sniffed a little and smoothed Megan’s hair. “Southern Belles stick together.”
That made Megan giggle and pull back. She went back to her spot on the couch with a little smile before putting on the hat. Hank beamed and straightened it for her.
“Alright. Now that the missus has given her gift -” Tig presented Megan with a small, but heavy box. “In light of your new position, I probably should have gone bigger.”
Megan unwrapped it to find a handgun cleaning kit with a built in field kit to go in her saddle bags. “Thank you!”
Tig chuckled. “You impressed the hell out of me at that meeting, Little Bit. Never seen a chick - well a youngster anyway - so prepared to defend yourself. Thought I’d help you do that.” He shrugged awkwardly. “And Venus wouldn’t let me buy you another gun.”
Venus huffed out a “I swear, Alexander…” as Megan giggled.
Chibs smiled a little. “Aye. My turn.” He sat down his whiskey and smiled. “‘Ve got two. One frum me - and one frum Samcro.” He laid a small box on the table - about as long as his hand. Then, he waved T.O. forward. T.O. also laid a box down - this one much larger.
Megan opened the larger box, which was from Samcro, to find a custom stitched seat for her bike. The beautiful stitching in the black leather picked out the design of a crown. “Oh! It’s beautiful. Thank you!”
T.O. grinned. “It’ll fit. We called your uncle to make sure of it.”
“Thank you. And thank your club for me.”
Chibs smirked. “Little un is frum me.”
Megan opened the box to find knives. Three of them. They were made to be worn on the inside of her belt or inside her kutte the way Chibs wore his. He’d provided sheaths for them as well. The short blades were made for street fighting and the green composite handles fit in her smaller hands nicely. “Oh they’re beautiful. I love them! Thank you.”
“Aye. MY Kerrianne overnighted them to me from the same shop in Ireland where I got mine after I met you at the party. They’ll serve you well, lass.” He smiled as Megan immediately tucked on into one of the straps of her thigh bag which held it perfectly. “Your tío can find you someone to teach you to use ‘em. I’d do it, but ‘m too far away.”
Megan stood and hugged the gruff biker. “Thank you.”
He patted her back awkwardly. “Welcome, lass.”
She sniffed a little and smiled as she sat back down. Hank grinned as she turned to show him her new blades. He examined them carefully and then showed her how to fasten them inside her kutte to conceal them.
Marcus offered Chibs a handshake. “Beautiful blades, my friend. I’ll find her a teacher when she’s ready.”
Chibs chuckled. “Got a boot knife back ordered fur ‘er too. Should be here by ‘er big party.”
Coco was passing by and snorted a laugh. “La princessa’s gunna be armed to the teeth.”
Marcus laughed. “All the better.” He waved the president of the Oakland charter forward to present the gift from the other charter.
A leather binder with the Mayans patch embossed on the cover was laid on the table in front of her. Megan ran her fingers over the cover before glancing up at the Oakland officers. At their smiles, she flipped it open to find a copy of the charter and bylaws of the Mayans Motorcycle Club. “Oh! Is this…”
“A copy for you to keep and study as la Princessa de los Mayas, Princessa. All the bylaws, from every charter. All the history of this club.”
Megan’s smile was blinding. “For me?”
“For you, Princessa. Happy Birthday.” He smiled and gave a little bow before going back to the party.
Megan ran her fingers over the binder again and smiled before looking up to meet the eyes of both Marcus and Bishop.
Marcus smiled. “Now you’ll get to read our story, Poquito. The history of tu familia.”
“Thank you.”
Diana came over after a few minutes to say goodnight. She was taking Tessa home to bed. Apparently, the energetic little girl had finally run out of steam. Marco had found her nodding off at one of the table and was carrying her to the car after bringing her to Marcus for a goodnight cuddle. The Queen of the Mayans pressed a gentle kiss to Megan’s forehead. “Sleep well, Princessa. We’ll see you in the morning.”
Things got a little wilder as it got later, but not much. A few guys got in the ring for fun and Bishop went to watch. Soon, Megan and Hank were left mostly on their own in that little corner of the clubhouse. Even Rex was asleep in his dog bed nearby. Megan was curled into Hank’s side, resting comfortably.
Hank smiled down at her. “Have you enjoyed your birthday party, mi amore?”
Megan tilted her face up towards him. “I actually have. At least once we moved over here.”
He shifted so he could reach to kiss her. “Good. We just need to remember to put you in a corner. I’ll try to remember, mi reina.” He pressed a soft kiss to her lips.
“Sorry I freaked out,” she whispered.
Hank shifted her carefully to his lap before guiding her to straddle him. “Mi princessa, you absolutely did not freak out. You were so anxious you were shaking, but you kept going. You didn’t freese. You kept your panic in your control. You were so brave and so  strong. You amaze me, Megan.” He cupped her face in both hands and pressed his forehead to hers. “No apologies, mi amore.”
Megan smiled and nodded a little. “Okay.”
“Good girl.” He grinned and kissed her again.
Megan kissed him back and shifted closer to his body. His hands rubbed gently down her back until they came to her hips. He slid them under her tunic so he could feel her skin. Megan wrapped the fingers of her good hand in his shirt to pull herself closer, pressing her hips into him.
Hank groaned and broke the kiss, dropping his head to rest on her good shoulder. “Not fair, mi reina. You know what the doctor said.” He pressed kisses to the skin of her throat and chest where he could reach.
Megan whined until Hank lifted his head to kiss her again. “I’m sorry, mi reina. No strenuous activities of you could end up back in a cast. A week, mi amore. At least a week.”
Megan collapsed against his chest growling and frustrated. Hank kissed her hair. “Please, Hank?”
He closed his eyes and winced. “I don’t want to hurt you, Megan. Please…”
She sighed. “I know.” She lifted her head to kiss him softly. “I’m sorry. I know.”
Hank smiled softly and returned her kiss. “Just… be patient a little longer, mi reina.”
Megan nodded and cuddled close. “I’ll try.”
“That’s all I ask.” He kissed her again.
