What would it be like for the Pokemon villains to live with each other for months?
Oh, boy, these are always great! So, here’s the scenario: due to some sort of mad science gone wrong, Giovanni’s mansion has been teleported onto a desert island along with all the Pokémon villains. Estimated time before Colress (whose fault this is, naturally) can get them back: three months. This is not gonna be a fun time for most of them.
Giovanni: It’s his house, his rules, and his responsibility to keep these idiots from killing each other or going insane. One such method of establishing some familiarity between them is that twice a week, one member of the group has to spend the evening teaching the group about a skill or subject. He also set up a “scream room” where a person can vent their frustrations to a camera and/or hit punching bags, or a pair can go to physically fight and/or yell at each other. It has thick walls and a schedule. He is so ready for this to be over.
Archie: is hands-down the most popular person there. Lusamine relies on him. N and Guzma like him. He’s good company, good in the kitchen, and just generally is making the best of this. Before the end of the three months, he and Maxie have broken up, reconciled, and gotten back together thrice, used the scream room for couples disputes eight times, and many of the other villains are calling their relationship “the soap opera.”
Maxie: The stress of the situation is grating on him. Alternates between being annoyed with how freakishly well Archie is handling this and being glad he has him. During their “on” periods, he’s also happy to be Archie’s safe haven (even Archie finds this place kind of crazy). Helps out in the lab where he can and spends a good deal of time outside to help keep his sanity. This does not always work. Frequent user of the scream room.
Cyrus: This place is chaotic. These people are idiotic. This may be the most unpleasant place he’s been in his adult life. Spends a great deal of time in the lab, either on his own or with Colress, in attempt to expedite things. If he isn’t there, he’s probably cloistered somewhere he won’t be found. Avoids Lusamine and Ghetsis like the plague. By the end of the twelve weeks, he has a reputation as the resident cryptid and the others have figured out that he can be goaded into extra chores or work tasks if it means he can skip group activity.
Volo: this is the time of his life. Everyone there that has researched a legendary, owned a legendary, met a legendary, or been within twenty feet of a legendary is getting interviewed at least once but probably several times by him. Some love it, at least at first. Some want him to shut up and take a long walk off a short pier. He’s trying to be pleasant, but ultimately if he’s interested in more information, he’s getting it from you. Maybe he’ll give you a gift for your trouble afterwards.
Ghetsis: After his first “I hate N” speech, much of the house became… less than favourable towards him. He and Guzma are no longer allowed to be alone in the same room after an incident left them both needing medical attention. Cyrus is no longer allowed to fix everyone's coffee after he dumped salt in Ghetsis’ twice. And there are several other rules made to essentially grant him protective custody. Generally speaking, Ghetsis is a terrible roommate who expects everyone else to cater to him. He’s earned almost everyone’s ire by the end of their stay, to the point where Giovanni was tempted to lift the rules meant to protect him. Frequently uses the scream room for rambles about N and complaints about the others. Absolutely horrified by the effect this event is having on N.
N: After Ghetsis’ first “I hate N” speech, he suddenly acquired two new dads (Archie and Maxie) and two new brothers (Guzma and Piers). Even Giovanni has become protective of him and has given him a talk on how Ghetsis is using him and nothing he’s said is true. The group activities are helping to broaden his very narrow horizons, he’s meeting lots of new people (even if a lot of them are various shades of evil) and he can always slip off into the woods if he wants to be alone. He’s having a great time. He understands the frustrations of others, but honestly he’s more worried about returning to his old life- sadly, this is a big improvement to it.
Colress: since he’s charismatic and more importantly their ticket out, the others treat him nicely even though he put them in this situation. Uses this period to look for a safety net for if he’s ever in need of a place to go post-Team Plasma. Gets into Lusamine’s, Lysandre’s, and Cyrus’ good graces and spends a good deal of time attempting to get to know them better to decide which he’d prefer. Lusamine is glad to have an ally. Lysandre likes him just fine. Cyrus thinks he’d be a good addition to Team Galactic but also wishes he and Volo would go pester each other and leave him alone.
Lysandre: there’s no sense panicking over this. Is polite to everyone and doesn’t talk about the unworthiness of the poor unless it’s with someone he’s sure will agree with him. Attempts to do some networking, and get himself some trade partners and allies with the assorted wealthy people there. He’s generally decent company even though he can’t wait to get away from some of these peasants. *coughGuzmacough*
Guzma: He trusts Plumeria to hold down the fort in his absence, so this is just a luxury vacation if you think about it. Plus, he gets to meet his favourite Galarian musician. He’s the reason behind a lot of Giovanni’s rules (take your physical fights outside or to the scream room, stop leaving your dirty socks everywhere, no loud music after 11 pm, and for the love of God your goliscopod cannot fix his own breakfast, get him out of the kitchen). Attempts to teach the group breakdancing when it’s his turn to teach, disregarding that most of the group would injure themselves trying to do that. Gets on everyone’s nerves by showing no one the reverence they think they’re owed, which he’s proud of. Spends time with Piers, tries to teach N how to live, and avoids Lusamine like the plague.
Lusamine: was separated from nihilego when she ended up there. The nihilego poison withdrawals were terrible at first, causing her to have wild mood swings and erratic behaviour. A few of the others (especially Archie) are able to help her through it, and within a few weeks, she was feeling clearer-headed than she had since she met nihilego. Even after that, though, she struggles to connect with the other villains due to the bad first impression. She’s anxious to get home, patch things up with her children, and undo her ills. It’s not a fun time for her.
Rose: Oleana is able to handle everything while he’s away, so once he’s come to terms with the fact that he’s surrounded by evil people with no way to do anything about it, he basically treats it like a vacation and is very go-with-the-flow about it. Generally one of the more popular and liked people there, a lot of people come to him to feel like they're talking to someone sane for once. Tries to recruit N as a new potential champion multiple times only to have one of his new fathers or big brothers guide him away.
Piers: spends a lot of time alone, playing music and worrying over how Spikemuth and his little sister are coping with his sudden absence. Also spends time with Guzma, who is a big fan of his music, and N, who is a nice kid and clearly needed the support. Wonders what the hell he did to end up here with all these evildoers.
Penny: After the initial panic wore off, she’s content to just sit back, be unnoticeable and take as many pictures, videos and notes as she can. Her friends, the true crime fandom, and the international police might call it fake, but you never know, and she’s going to have so many stories to tell.

Why do I care so much about deciphering character ages in Pokemon?
Simply put, angst. Or in long terms-
The art of storytelling is not so cut and dry, anyone with basic media literacy knows this. There is so much subtext and unspoken information that rings loudly in the implications of a story, something as simple as the age of an MC will dictate how heavily their experiences will affect them. Using the Gen6 games as examples (XY and Omega Ruby specifically)
By figuring out where to place Calem Serena and Zinnia in age, the story they live through gains added context. They all share the same bracket of 18-19 meaning they are in they’re late late teens and budding into the incoming subconscious weight of young adulthood, the subconscious urge to be stronger and reckless to prove yourself as capable in the real world; while still being young and having so much to learn. They have further motive to get involved in the heavy actions they take and will fall and break down even harder when they fail. Such is the right of growing up.
And for more adult characters, the same still holds true.
Doing the same thing I did with the kalos protags age by calculating off of a canon characters official age (emma) and then taking into account mannerisms dialogue and design; Admin Tabitha from team magma is officially 27, stated by himself. So going off of the work place hierarchy, Leader Maxie with his experience and status should be in his late 40s to maybe early 50s, making him the prime age for an early onset midlife crisis, linking that to his past relationships with Archie and the reasoning for making his team, his clear strong sense of justice even if misplaced, you have a man who can quickly spiral into a rather pitiful sight if pushed too hard in the wrong direction. First he bares his teeth, then he whines. Like a scared dog trying to protect itself and the image he has made for himself.
Meanwhile Courtney who is evidently more experienced than Tabitha is confirmed to have been with the team longer than him, as his paperwork is still seated on her desk, seems to be in her early 20s, I originally assumed she was in her mid 20s but then she released in pokemon masters and I was able to study her behavior more closely, she has this uncanny glimpse of childlike wonder at times that makes me believe she’s maybe younger than Tabitha, that added to the fact Tabitha seems to look out for her with her social struggles, almost taking on a brotherly role it seems.
Her being in her early twenties adds more weight to her codependency on Maxie as well as her reckless devotion, she’s younger and somewhat impressionable, she’s not against violent action to protect her passions.
And because I was able to gather Courtney had more experience while being younger I can come to the conclusion that it’s very possible Courtney was a science prodigy of some sort, as she is known in her field. And seeing she’s been with team magma longer and has evident close bonds with Maxie, it’s even more possible they worked together when she was younger.
Originally that led me to the thought she might have worked in relation to the Devon corporation, but with the art of visual storytelling in Sea Mauville, it’s not insane to assume Archie and Maxie may have worked together with the Mauville Corporation and that’s what makes them so jaded in modern day, a bad work environment being a stepping stone to their fall from grace. By Sea Mauville’s writings alone I don’t see them being against overworking a young teen prodigy. It’s possible maybe leader Maxie knew Courtney from his time there and brought her onto his team when the company went under. (This also means I need to retcon tf out of my in character Courtney blog.)
This also can explain Courtney’s role playing more into a team disciplinary, her time in Sea Mauville so young could’ve taught her to be more aggressive in order to earn her respect and get better outcome from rookie labor, as it’s heavily shown grunts seem to fear Courtney in some respects.
And ALL of this is merely the writing on the wall I can read when I take into account the age of our cast

Okay one thing I wanted to touch upon yesterday was how I'm noticing that a lot of pokemon villains do what they do out of love. And when I say love I mean love towards something. I dunno if that explains it well but here me out:
Volo is the most recent case, he loves Hisui and wants to end it's suffering, leading him to do what he did.
Rose loves Galar ( also it's clear that Oleana loves Rose. Romantically? Platonically? Who cares, she loves him)
Lusamine, at least in usum, cared for Alola to try and protect it
Guzma freaking loves his crew and will protect them.
Lysandre loved Kalos and the world and thus was disgusted when it became "filthy"
Maxie and Archie, despite their differences, loved Hoenn and wanted to see it grow into what they thought was fit ( Archie wanted pokemon of the sea to have a better place to live, and vice versa with Maxie and humans)
N clearly loves pokemon and everything he has done was for them.
Hell, the team rocket executives in hgss/gsc loved their boss so much to try and get him back.
The only villains that don't really share this love are Ghetsis , Giovanni and Colress imo. Okay. Well. I think Giovanni does care for his grunts, but it's not what's motivating him, I mean.
Edit: So I've been given some points about Colress and Giovanni! Colress loves his science, which drives him to do a lot of questionable things. The reason why I didn't include him at first was because unlike the others science is....science. I really don't know how to explain it, but the love I had in mind was more... personal? Emotional? Though, again, when you really think about it, science is what drives Colress, so I guess I'll give it to him here.
I will fully admit that I don't see Giovanni's love for anything that influences what he does, with the exception of money and power. That being said, Giovanni in the games has shown to care for Silver in his goodbye, promising to come back when he can revive the team rocket. That ...never happened, but the thought at the moment was clear. Again, I really don't think Giovanni's love for his son was what caused him to build a team rocket. He wants to show his son the fruits from his endeavors, sure, but Silver being the motivation seems far fetched in my opinion ( also this is referring to Giovanni). This applies to Mewtwo ( I've always seen the two having more of a mutual agreement than a powerful friendship, though a bond is a bond). What motivates Giovanni that isn't money or power? It's not Silver ( I think) , so is it his team? Maybe! I don't know much about Giovanni, so please know all of this is pretty biased.
Edit #2: IMPORTANT I FORGOT CYRUS. Cyrus is very complicated. Cause compared to Volo, who effectively tried to do the same thing, Cyrus seems more inherently selfish with a destain for humanity, while Volo's seems more just and out of love. In a very very simplified way of saying it, Cyrus is a man who wants to be alone. Him wanting to erase the world of emotion is very much for himself and no one else. However, there's that conversation in Platinum that begins to put a crack in this. Cynthia rightfully says that Cyrus could just fuck off to who knows where and be alone. Cyrus refutes this, saying he can't leave the world in such a state with spirit and emotion. Let's be real here. Cyrus could have very well just isolated himself. But he didn't! Why? Because of humanity. I think this is him showing that he cares, even if it's very twisted and comes from a place of supposed hatred( or Cyrus would just say he feels nothing. Boy, if you really felt nothing, why are you doing this? Dork)
I also didn't mention SM Lusamine! Mainly because I don't have the game anymore ( I lost my cartridge:( ), so I was only going off the memory of her just. Being an asshole to her kids and being obsessed with the UB. Which is still present in USUM, but I didn't consider why she was obsessed with the UB. Mohn. Lusamine loves Mohn so much that it drives her insane. She latched onto the Ultra Beasts, the thing that was last is connected to her husband. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but this goal of finding her husband eventually got lost as she became more and more obsessed with the ultra beast. I could be wrong on that, but that's how I remember it. But I still think it counts because Lusamine's whole thing is "love" so to speak. A mother's love, love for your family, finding people that will "love" you, etc.
The only person who doesn't have any type of love is Ghetsis. He only cares about himself really, but that's not the theme I was going for here so. Yeah.

Welcome to the Official Blog of the Aqua-Magma Conservatory
Hello, Rotomblr! We know we've done some bad things in the past and we Don't blame you for being mad at us. But we hope that we can someday atone for what we did. That's why for the past five years we at Team Aqua and Team Magma have put aside our differences to form the Aqua-Magma Sanctuary.
Officially endorsed by the Hero of Hoenn, Mare Birch (@aura-acolyte), her uncle and Hoenn's regional professor Professor Birch, and the Champion of Hoenn himself Steven Stone, we seek to work towards the betterment of people and Pokémon by taking in Pokémon that have been injured, traumatized, rendered incapable of living in the wild, or otherwise abused (Kai Note: we will also accept Pokémon you simply do not have the resources to care for anymore) and protecting them.
Staff Members
Leaders Archie and Maxie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The leaders of the Aqua-Magma Conservatory, Archie and Maxie have realized the error in their ways and reformed Teams Aqua and Magma into a force for good. Archie is an ex-member of the Hoenn Navy and, despite his looks, has a degree in Marine Biology. Maxie is an intelligent and analytical scientist with a degree in Geophysics. (Nicky note: They're also dating, heh heh).
Admins Matt, Shelly, Tabitha, and Courtney
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The admins of Aqua-Magma, they make sure things get done while Archie and Maxie deal with paperwork. Matt's a tough guy who loves a good fight but he's a softy at heart, Shelly is like a big sister to all of us but Don't tick her off, Tabitha's a bit conceited but is a good guy once you get to know him, and Courtney's a bit odd but is fully dedicated to our goal.
Grunts
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rank and file of Aqua-Magma. We do a lot of the real work around here, feeding the Pokémon, preparing the Conservatory for new Pokémon's arrival, going out and retrieving Pokémon that have been injured. Archie and Maxie wanted to just call us employees, less negative association, but we like the Grunt title do it stuck.
Scientists
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gonna be honest with you, these guys and gals are a little mad. But they're good at what they do and know a lot about Pokemon. They're really helpful for figuring out how to plan out the Conservatory and what environments which Pokemon should be in.
Nurse Joys
Tumblr media
Our talented medical professionals. In addition to these quadruplets of the Joy family we also have unrelated nurses and doctors who are a big help in healing injured Pokemon.
Social Media Team Nicky and Kai
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Darker skinned Kai by @cooperblr)
That's us! Don't mind the serious faces on our trainer cards, we're actually really fun. We're a pair of twins who run the social media for Aqua-Magma including this blog. You'll know who's who by our text color, blue for Nicky and red for Kai.
We also love
to finish
each other's sentences.
Thanks for reading this very long post and we hope you support the Aqua-Magma Conservatory and our continuous attempt to do better for this world.

hi beloved mutual i challenge you to give us your top five or so pokemon ships, and explain why you like them in as little words as possible (and also explain their shipnames if they’re not super obvious to get)
Idk what's gonna be harder, explaining ship names I don't fully understand myself or "in as little words as possible"
Also I can't really order these so I won't ✌
Surveyshipping - Cyllene and Laventon are both in the Survey Corps, pretty obvious ship name. Anyway I really love both characters and I think the idea of them together is very cute, classic girl boss and male wife dynamic
Hardenshipping - uuuh this is called that because when magma is cooled by water it hardens or something. Idk I never liked this ship name but it is what it is. Anyway what can I even say about Maxie and Archie they are THE disaster couple their divorce arc almost destroys the region. No one is doing like them fr
Moonlilyshipping - Moon because Selene means moon and also Pokemon Moon I guess, and lily because Lillie. It's a cute name. Anyway these two make me insane, they are the heart of the Alola games. It's the way Selene spends most of the game protecting Lillie and Nebby and the way Lillie is inspired by Selene's bravery and the way they save Nebby and confront Lusamine together at the end and the way they sneak away to be alone at Selene's party and the way after everything they've been through they have to say goodbye at the end. God.
Postwickshipping - Gloria and Hop are both from Postwick so sure fine. They're also the heart of their games in my onion I love Hop's arc I love the bittersweetness of him losing his dream to his bestie/rival but then realizing that was never a good fit for him anyway since he was just trying to be like his brother rather than thinking about what he actually wants and I really like how Hop and Gloria grow together throughout the game they're really cute and I love them
Namelessshipping - uum, so I think one is because while Red and Blue were given official names in the og games you could also name them whatever you wanted? But anyway come on they are the original protag/rival ship and meeting them again in Alola while they're on their honeymoon is an incredible experience I'm so happy for them

Okay, been thinking about the Rainbow Rocket confrontation, and here it is!
So, Archie, Maxie, and Trainer Cyrus are in place, and Sun, Moon, Lillie, and Hau head in to face Rainbow Rocket. They fight a decent number of grunts, Lillie has a couple pokemon now (she’s been through a lot, she can have more than one, though she’s still a relatively new trainer and thus is still the one focusing on healing everyone else’s pokemon more than battling), and eventually make it to the first checkpoint. Sun goes to the left, Moon goes to the right, and they battle against Maxie and Archie at the same time while Lillie and Hau guard the main hall to make sure no one can sneak up on them.
(While this is happening, our team of foreign ex-Champions on look-out duty spot another of our favorite Alolans heading towards the Rainbow Rocket Castle with both purpose and a full roster of pokemon - it’s ya boi, heading in to help get these creeps off his island! And normally this would be great, but this plan already has a lot of moving parts, and Guzma’s not read in on any of them, so Red and Cynthia run interference and manage to get him over to their table with Blue, where they fill him in on the plan. Guzma’s not happy about having to sit this one out, but grudgingly agrees to wait on the condition that he gets to lead the charge if the kids call for help.
On the plus side, he does end up having a really interesting conversation with Professor Blue about bug pokemon (there aren’t a lot of them native to Kanto, so he doesn’t have as much experience with a wide variety of them as other types, and it’s interesting to talk to a bug-type specialist).)
Back in Rainbow Rocket, Sun and Moon move to the next room with Lillie and Hau, the latter two once again staying at the doorway to prevent any Grunts from trying to interfere, while the twins ‘confront’ Cyrus, who manages a vaguely decent speech about why he needs to stop them and recreate what he did in ‘his world’ in this world (Maxie and Archie honestly did so much better, they have so much practice and are a pair of drama llamas to boot), puts up a good fight, and then hands over the key they need once he’s beaten. A bit more exploring and the group finds Lysandre’s room, again, guards at the door, and a confrontation with the Team leader.
Fun fact: a ‘which door will you choose’ challenge is far less effective when you have two chaos twins run past you and each press one of the two buttons one at a time, turning on and turning off your doomsday machine in quick succession. The leader of Team Flare is extremely miffed and gives them a very hard match as a result, but is eventually defeated an the group moves to the final room, where they’re confronted by Ghetsis. Again, speech, battle, we win!
Except Ghetsis is Ghetsis and does not lose gracefully, instead taking Lillie prisoner and demanding Sun, Moon, and Hau throw down their pokeballs and surrender to him if they don’t want their friend to die.
This is the point where Ghetsis learns the error of tossing the timid little girl behind him then focusing all his attention on the sturdier-looking kids in the room, because Lillie summons that resolve to be stronger that she gained during the whole Aether Foundation fiasco, and also her legs under her.
You ever been full-body tackled from behind at exactly knee height by a girl with every ounce of protective rage her small body can muster? Because that’s what Lillie just did to Ghetsis. It makes an impression, both of them, because he goes down and Lillie ends up getting kind of squished as a result.
Fortunately a moment’s weakness is all the rest of the group needs to decide that violence is the answer and get to work grappling with Ghetsis to get any weapons and pokemon he may have away from him and also to get him off of Lillie. After some very thorough tussling, Ghetsis is left tied up in his own cloak with Hau and Lillie sitting on him for good measure.
He may return to his dimension where he’s in charge, but he’s going to have to spend the rest of his (hopefully short) reign with the knowledge of how thoroughly he just got owned by four twelve-year-olds.
Anyway, on to Giovanni! Again, it’s another speech, another battle, and another victory. Which Giovanni responds to with a shrug, a smirk, and the comment that he’s gotten as much as he probably needs of the Aether Foundation’s tech from this dimension anyway - there are other dimensions to see, other worlds to loot. Lights start flashing, he types a few things into a keyboard, and the castle vanishes like it had never been, leaving the Aether Foundation in its place. Victory! Celebration high-five and strike a pose, yeah!
This is when Lillie and Hau come running in after Sun and Moon, with the revelation that Ghetsis just vanished out from under them, and all there weren’t any grunts left in the hallway when they unlocked the door and checked, either. It’s back to normal, yes!
Moon’s phone buzzes a text alert.
Cyrus: I assume the building changing means you won.
Cyrus: Archie and Maxie vanished with it.

Disco Elysium trainer card masterpost
Well. I've made trainer cards for Kim, Harry, and Jean. So here:
Tumblr media
(Go ahead and tell me Kim doesn't match Maxie's vibes.)
Yanma: Kim’s first pokemon. He does not like battling with yanma or putting her in danger. He greatly enjoys watching her fly around. His baby. He leaves her with Alice when working on long cases.
Bisharp: For obvious reasons. His ace back when he was serious about being a trainer before he joined the RCM. Everyone calls Bisharp Kim Jr. For how well he imitates his trainer.
Arcanine: Standard issue RCM pokemon. All Lieutenants get one. He tries to keep a working relationship with his arcanine, but off duty she demands cuddles, and who is Kim to deny his arcanine snuggle time? But on the clock they are very, very professional. No funny business or tummy rubs here.
Joltik: Kim thinks they’re cute. He caught a joltik, named him Bob, and it nests in Kim’s hair whenever he’s home. Sometime even when he’s at work, since joltik’s too small for anyone to see in Kim’s hair.
Magneton: A magnemite kept hanging around the Kineema in the 57ths motor pool so he adopted it. He keeps his magneton polished to perfection. His magneton is very stubborn and is probably in love with the Kineema. It keeps trying to woo it.
Cryogonal - A gift from Eyes. Kim has gotten very attached to it, as cryogonal disappears in the summer (vaporizes in the heat), and reappears in the winter. There’s a wives tale that those who die in the winter are reborn as cryogonal. So. Yeah.
Tumblr media
Butterfree: Lovingly evolved from a caterpie Harry’s dad caught for him as a kid. The butterfree has been with Harry since the beginning. Despite being a total wreck most his adult life, Harry took good care of butterfree. However, butterfree has been taken away after Harry for his own safety. Judit is taking care of him in the meantime.
Crobat: The first pokemon Harry “caught” by himself. Harry nursed an injured zubat back to health, and it went into a pokeball on its own. Crobat is extremely attached to Harry, and will not allow himself to separated. Crobat is extremely untrusting of other people, as of late many have tried taking crobat away for Harry’s own safety. Crobat likes to nest in Harry’s hair at all times.
Dragonite: Harry also used to be a pretty serious trainer in his youth. He’s completed the gym challenge, though never went on to defeat the elite 4. Dragonite used to be his ace, and later his teaching assistant when he was a gym teacher. She has been known for going on rampages and destroying Harry’s stashes. Dragonite is loyal to Harry, but loves Jean. Maybe because they have a kinship for picking up Harry’s messes.
Gardevoir: Was traded over as a kirlia to Harry while he and Dora were dating. Harry traded her his machamp. Gardevoir rarely listens to Harry, but is still very protective of him. She was there while the whole relationship was falling apart, and became deeply wounded when Dora left without her. Gardevoir does not like being out of her pokeball, because she does not like being around Harry when he’s drunk.
Mabostiff: I know maschiff is cuter, but I think mabostiff looks more like Harry lol. Probably got maschiff when he first started out in the RCM, his partner pokemon. Mabostiff is a resolute professional police mon, especially when Harry can’t be. Lives at the station because it runs away whenever Harry brings him home. He would get along great with Kim.
Shedinja: Jean’s party was full when his nincada evolved, so shedinja just moved into Harry’s party. Harry tried giving it back to Jean but 1.) Jean thought it was creepy, and 2.) It chose Harry has his trainer. Everyone in the station is creeped out by it, but Harry LOVES this thing. Spends hours staring at the hole in shedinja’s back. Though it can’t emote like normal pokemon, shedinja adores Harry. It’s also very affectionate and does float around the station bumping officers to get them to pet it. Shedinja is content to float around following Harry most days.
Tumblr media
Houndoom: Jean's first pokemon. He used to be a semi-serious trainer at the fire gym in Revachol. His houndoom looks intimidating, but she's just a silly little girl. Also a whore that got knocked up six times from Jean's neighbor. The sole reason why the 41st's new patrol dogs are houndours. But she's a good girl, and loves Harry bc he feeds her snacks. Jean's pissed about it, because his girl likes Hary more than him, but also because Harry's making her fat (spoiler alert, she got knocked up again, this time by Harry's mabosstiff).
Rapidash: Jean's always loved horses. He originally got her since he worked at the fire gym, but once Jean became a police officer, he chose to use her instead of the mudsdales that were typically used as patrol horses. She doesn't really express herself much, but she'll nuzzle anyone that brings her oats. She desperately pines for Captain Pryce's mudsdale. It's a very torrid love affair the whole station keeps up on.
Mighteyena: Poochyena was Jean's partner pokemon when he first signed up with the force. At first, the poochyena hated Jean. Dug his paws in whenever Jean tried working with her. But through the fire of service, they've bonded. Mighteyena HATES Harry so much. She'll snarl and chomp whenever Harry's near. She'll only tolerate him when he's sober, in that case she sleeps near Harry's feet because she DOES recognize him as a superior detective.
Phantump: Jean found a lone phantump when they were working a case in the Pox. Just a single, lone phantump. They were working a missing child case. Neither Jean or Harry could leave him behind, so Jean took him in. Phantump makes Jean sad, but Jean is determined to give phantump the best life as a pokemon. Phantump is shy around adults, except for Jean and Harry. Likes to be babied and held. It does throw tantrums when it doesn't get what it wants, which as led to many officers figuring out what being hit with phantom force square in the chest feels like.
Ninjask: Nincada was another pokemon Jean picked up while on the force. It was found by an officer on Boogie street. No one knew what to do with him, to Jean took him in. He always thought bug pokemon were cool. Then it evolved while Jean and Harry were on a case, and Harry ended up with shedinja. Ninjask does not like Harry either, and cries until Harry leaves, or Jean puts him away. However annoying ninjask can be, there's no pokemon he trusts more to work with.
Deino: Jean doesn't know how Harry ever got his hands on a deino, but Jean didn't question it. He was a gift from Harry, and at first Jean thought he could handle the deino. But like it's temperamental. Jean's hands are covered in scars from how many times he's been bitten. But he still loves the sucker, and trains really hard with deino to evolve it. They're workout buddies. Jean distracts deino with squeaky toys at work and at home, so everyone at the 41st is accustomed to faint squeaking in the bullpen.

OKAY HERE WE GO on the topic of regional league systems and their relationships with Aspects and Legends:
Kanto: Kanto is more traditional than most. Very rigid elite four and champion government structure, with the gym leaders acting as sort of mayors for their individual towns. Gym leaders handle handing out starter Pokemon for youth in their town and sending them off on their journey. The champion handles bigger things like gym leader applications and region wide issues. Aspects are seen broadly with a bit of distrust in Kanto, and are NOT allowed to be champion or elite four. they are very reluctantly allowed to be gym leaders, as the region is trying to become more progressive. Red becoming Articuno's Aspect was very controversial and changed many people's views on Aspects, but combined with him going AWOL off to a mountain in the middle of his term, he was removed from his champion position. Aspects in Kanto are seen as a last-ditch emergency plan for much bigger issues that the champ can't deal with.
Johto: Johto is also very traditional but, due to Ho-oh and Lugia's larger place in traditional society, they are much more lenient on Aspects. Aspects are more of an integrated part of life in Johto again due to Ho-oh and Lugia's followers and legend, but still are viewed as an emergency resource and are put on a pedestal apart from other people. Since Johto and Kanto share the same Elite Four, government rules stay the same concerning the champion.
Hoenn: With Steven and Wallace on the League, trainers who were already trusted before they became Aspects, Hoenn is very accepting of Aspects as people rather than just Legendaries. They can be Champion or Elite Four members without any issues. Gym leaders work the same way as previously described in Kanto/Johto. Archie and Maxie briefly cause an issue, but when it is discovered that they had good intentions at heart, they go through a system of community service through the league and are allowed to continue being Aspects under several promises and contracts not to do Any Of That World Ending again.
Sinnoh: Much like Hoenn, Cynthia brings a lot of change concerning Aspects in society. also similar to Johto in that the main Legends of the region are seen with reverence and are worshipped - Aspects are highly respected. Barry particularly makes a lot of progress in showing how human Aspects can be since. he's still the same kid, after all. clumsy as ever, even with a God in his head.
Unova: Aspects originally weren't allowed in the League, but after the Ghetsis debacle Iris and the twins really showed their conviction to Alder and he decided to start a change in the region. Iris begins as champion working alongside Alder, but is eventually allowed to take the full title of champion. Gym leaders, as always, work the same - giving new trainers in their town their first pokemon, dealing with city wide scuffles, etc. Drayden is one of the last true believers of the dragons, but, after the plot events of BW/2, more people see that the dragons are real and begin to believe again. this both makes the legend stronger and also makes the twins a bit self conscious.
Kalos: Kalos is one of the most open regions about it's Aspects, given that Professor Sycamore is a very widely known figure and the legends are fairly respected. Diantha is also very open about the concept. Aspects aren't common knowledge, per se, but the concept is definitely whispered about. Team Flare is treated similarly to Magma and Aqua, where they go through community service and are reintegrated into society. Lysandre, however, is not as easily forgiven for his crimes, and Yveltal is removed from him.
Alola: If Kalos was accepting of Aspects, Alola is twice that. Tapus practically live among them, and the Kahunas are very public about their connections with the Tapus. Gladion and Lillie are well known regionally as Aspects, and the Alolan people protect them and serve to keep them safe and from this spreading to other regions. The Kahunas are similar to gym leaders, but they have more responsibility as they are basically the Elite Four of the region. They don't really have a real champion, either - it's more of a board system, since Kukui doesn't particularly want to lead an entire region AND be a professor. him and the Kahunas are equals.
Galar: Galar is also fairly open about Aspects, since it is a very publicized region (considering the colloseum matches / very public Eternatus issue) and both Raihan and Leon as Aspects are very public figures. The gym leader system works similarly to Alola, where they have more regional responsibilities than the Gym Leader due to overall lack of elite four.

What is one (or two) favorite little tidbits about your OCs that you’d love to share?
Oh ye! I'll give little tidbits for each!
Haru is a trans man bisexual (stronger preference with Men) and there was a time Haru got knocked up and was like..away from Hisui. Poor Laventon and Cyllene we're worried sick about their crazy friend. Haru returns cause he trust Laventon and Cyllene with his daughter and they were the first to know about his child. Haru has alot of trust issues with people.. so it's a big deal that he let them even hold her.
Kira is the opposite of her ancestors. She's very social and enjoys the company of people (tho due to her past, she can be blunt, cold and very emotionally stunted.) Kira didn't like interacting with pokemon until she met Liam and learned to accept Mewtwo as a tragic figure..she ends up catching Mewtwo to protect him in 1996
Liam is a champion of two regions. Unova and Reno (my made up region) and is best friends with Alder. He also has Zekrom on his team and does compete with Zekrom due to Zekrom is very attached to Liam.
Beau is a model and an "influencer" (he just sometimes post funny post with his Mother's Mewtwo he calls uncle) Beau got his Raichu, Hayden to become a therapy Raichu for his Boyfriend, Lysandre.
Amber is a light weight when she drinks, many times Beau had to take her home. Amber suffers anxiety after the lost of her brother and now has a fear of Ice types.
Koa is older than kukui by 3 years, older than Guzma by 2. After his parents died in a crash (that he and kukui survived) koa basically took care of Kukui and helped him become a professor.
Topaz is currently 16 and is traveling around the world to learn more about Pokemon.
Morgan is currently champion of Galar, tho he fought to have Leon be also champion with him. Morgan is dating Leon, Raihan, Gordie, piers and Milo (POLY TIME)
I forgot about nani is my previous post ;m;
Nani is now Archie's adopted child instead! And they are a photographer after the events of ORAS (Which in my au takes place between xy. Alpha Sapphire before Lysandre's plan, Omega ruby after Lysandre's plan) nani fought Maxie.

my brain is broken and i cant think of any cool questions for/about ur muses but i wanna say that theyre all super neat and u should maybe give some of ur fave fun lore facts about some of them? owo?
ask me about character stuff! || @zeconductor
oh you're valid!! and thank you so much!
under a cut because i ramble so much
witch lore!! (nanu and guzma)
true witches are sort of a dying breed. the unfortunate reality is that witches tend to be surrounded by bad luck and tragedy strikes them easily. not even they really know why, some rumor that one witch got the whole lot of them cursed but no one can confirm anything.
as a result many have chosen not to have children to break the cycle or have given up their powers entirely (a very painful and irreversible process). that tends to be the main reason for a scarcity of them.
who is and isn’t a witch isn’t common knowledge. 90% of the time you have to be told or witness something.
many of them have unique/family passed down abilities. the ripley line is pretty strong in general because they never really let go of their powers. they’re one of the oldest witch families, however someone did try to end the family line on multiple occasions.
nanu’s special ability is resistance to damage. he is very hard to kill and that magic literally the only reason he’s still alive. he thinks it’s the magic trying to fight back against the “curse” he’s heard so much about.
it was passed on to guzma, who unfortunately is very much aware that he can take a lot of damage and not die.
augustine, as a “human” (witch) had suffered greatly with no clear answers as to why (his mother hand an affair with a witch, who had died not long after his birth. no one ever taught him about being a witch or could help him because no one had any idea.) his power is a limited psychic ability. it allows him to sense and sometimes get visions of future events-- but only happy ones. this power was likely triggered from years of despair and desperately needing some reminders that life is worth living, that there are things to look forward to. it reminds him, after tragedy, that good things will come in time.
they have familiars!! certain pokemon are familiars that get drawn to witches by fate!! nanu’s is his persian (morticia) and guzma’s is his golisopod (bernadette)!! (bonus, augustine’s first one is an eevee evolved into a sylveon named enjolras, his second is his garchomp named eponine). the familiars tend to assist as guides to young witches and stay with them to be whatever the person needs-- a friend, a sibling, a parental figure.
nymph lore!! (maxie and guzma)
nymphs are a subclass of fae that generally protect whatever they bond to. for example: wood nymph (most common), water nymph (common), and ground nymph (rare). all nymphs are pretty much a blank slate and if they connect to something in nature they take on the features of that thing.
wood nymphs can have several abilities, but for guzma specifically being a half-nymph, he’s got the ability to heal nature to a degree. one could say he has a green thumb, but it’s absolutely a healing/growing touch. he can’t single handedly repair a wasteland in an instant but he can, with prolonged and repeated care help flora grow or recover from disaster. he often smells floral, just slightly, and it tends to attract pollinating bugs. cutiefly love him.
ground nymphs get more interesting defensive abilities. they can harden their bodies and tend to look like a moving marble sculpture if they use this ability and move. harming them in this state is difficult, especially as they are able to alter their bodies to be as hard as diamonds if they want to.
they aren’t really tricksters by nature. they just kinda. vibe. get along with pokemon.
while some can connect to something broadly speaking (the ground, the ocean), some connect to specific locations (a specific forest, a specific lake). not being able to properly redirect your connection to relocate is severely harmful for the nymph, it causes emotional distress and causes a severe sickness that can last for about a month.
some nymphs have sort of given up due to land development destroying forests and natural areas. they had homes torn down in the name of creating concrete cities, it filled them with despair and resignation. they have, like witches, given up their abilities to become human because they saw no point in being nymphs or making more nymphs when humanity was just going to tear down the natural beauty of the world anyway.
specific character lore for fun!!
yellow’s pikachu?? his name is wes. he’s not even really a pikachu. he’s a mew that thought it would be fun to be a pikachu for a while but then he got carried away. straight up vibing and having a good time though. at this point genuinely forgets he’s not actually a pikachu. has a single brain cell that gets tired easy when it comes to anything other than battle. capable of taking on a human form.
guzma has always been a mama’s boy, but he held her even more dear when he thought his father died. she was the only family he had and he didn’t want to imagine life without her, unfortunately he would have to live that reality.
she did teach him how to play piano though. she was a fairly famous pianist and he wanted to follow in her footsteps for a while. he doesn’t play the piano for others often, for him to do so is an act of trust and intimacy. playing it is bittersweet because he still has the passion for it, but it makes him miss the days when his mom taught him to play. he wishes she could hear the songs he’s written.
maxie was a professional model from childhood to his mid-20′s. he hated it with a passion, only doing it because his parents made him and his twin was one as well, she made it more bearable. because of his modeling career he’s actually built up a lot of money from that alone.
his other money comes from coming from a wealthy family and his late husband’s own money that ended up being split with him in the divorce. he doesn’t flaunt it or want to talk about where any of his money comes from, it brings up too many terrible memories.
some of his motivation to expand land was caused by hurt from seeing how many nymphs were giving up and losing their homes. he thought, maybe, if there had been more land for nymphs to have as their own things could be better. it really aligned with him wanting to help pokemon for similar reasons too. for the most part he did have good intentions. he just didn’t think things through and was blinded by anger and his one track mind.
if not for archie he’s not sure where he’d be. archie found him twice at major points in his life and helped him both times more than he could ever say. he has no idea how to make it up to him or repay him, but he wants to. badly. he owes that man his life on multiple counts. his friendship is precious to him, even if he’s bad at expressing it.

If you were going to turn the Pokemon villains into Pokemon as punishment, what would be the best choice for each one?
Haha, thanks for asking.
Standardizedbogey and I were talking about this last night because of her fic (which I highly recommend) were Giovanni was turned into a lillipup as a punishment, with doggy instincts and all. Some of these are my own ideas, some we came up with together.
Giovanni: okay, I couldn’t come up with anything as good as a lillipup, but yamper could work for the same reasons of being a small, helpless-looking dog (and we all know he’s a huge cat person), plus, this one gets the zoomies.
Silver: The best way to teach him a lesson in there being more to Pokémon’s worth than battle strength would be to turn him into a Pokémon that’s weak but nonetheless adaptable and determined. Perhaps an abra, which, while incapable of fighting, is intelligent and excellent at escaping bad situations.
Maxie: something very sensitive to changes in the environment. Perhaps a slowpoke would work- they live near water and require the health of a saltwater species to survive. Plus its instinct might deprive Maxie of his ability to use his intelligence.
Archie: like with Maxie, you could have him think twice about his goal by turning him into something that needs a very specific, non-watery environment. Perhaps a numel would work, as they’re very sensitive to water and would surely be wiped out if Archie went through with his plan. Doubles as punishment because numel are slow, weak, and can’t go in water.
Cyrus: Eevee. Just destroy his lone wolf aesthetic and fill him to the brim with instincts to be friendly and want to be with people and cuddle up on their laps because they’re sad. Or because they seem nice. Or because he likes their hat. Or. Or. Or. Or. As a bonus, Mars looks after him for a while and he evolves into a pink ribbon dog that might as well have “I love my friend” written across his forehead and has empathy as a superpower.
N: N doesn’t deserve a punishment, but he’d really hate being a slugma. There’s no handling Pokémon in need if you’d only burn them.
Ghetsis: Ghetsis needs to be taken down a peg in terms of power, so a regional rodent would be good. I think bidoof would be the best choice because then its absentmindedness would keep him from scheming without zoning out. Also, he’d probably have to rely on N for protection because Colress would definitely want to run some experiments on a human-turned-Pokémon.
Lysandre: a good punishment for Lysandre would be to become something insignificant and filthy, so I chose a gastrodon. He’s identical to numerous others of his kind living all across the map, he’s hideous and slimy, he has instincts to bathe in mud and algae, and people look at him with disgust when he visits populated areas. Used to being respected and revered, now people won’t even let him on their carpets.
Lusamine: I don’t really have an idea for her, but she definitely wouldn’t like being a trubbish. It’ll be pretty hard to command the Aether Foundation’s respect like that.
Guzma: Petilil. Guzma would hate being something weak and dependent, and a small, sensitive plant Pokémon would really ruin his aesthetic, plus he’d look tasty to bug-types! Plumeria will look after him, don’t worry.
Piers: Whismur. It can’t do any of the three things Peirs cares about: rock out, battle well, or help his family and community. Marnie would probably have to look after him, and he wouldn’t want that. Its evolutions are stronger and louder, but are just as unable to produce appealing music.
Rose: honedge. It drinks the life force of others, actively undoing what he tried to do. It can’t be around people without doing that, which he’d hate as a massive extrovert.

Also, how do Maxie's admins react to his amnesia, beyond trying to convince Team Aqua that it's real and to fix it?
courtney is the first one to realize that something’s up, since maxie follows a very strict routine and suddenly just…isn’t doing it. he doesn’t do his 11AM speeches anymore which, okay, maybe he’s just taking a break to figure out their next move since groudon was a bust. but he’s also almost never in his office (mostly bc he can’t figure out how tf to get there), and he doesn’t really seem all that interested in his research or following up on any of his findings. it’s like he’s a completely different person. she doesn’t really think team magma can operate without a leader and convinces tabitha to step up in his place while they figure out what to do, which he’s kind of hesitant to do but ultimately agrees to for the sake of not causing a panic (maxie doesn’t even really argue with the change which is ALSO very out of character, since he was always kind of paranoid that tabitha was trying to replace him. he just doesn’t want to have to deal with trying to lead a team he knows absolutely nothing about and accepts it as “punishment” for the events surrounding groudon). courtney is basically in charge of keeping an eye on maxie and making sure he doesn’t do anything stupid until he gets his memory back. she never outright TELLS maxie that they know he has amnesia, since he’ll just argue that he remembers everything perfectly fine, but she does have to answer a lot of questions surrounding basically everything from what pokemon he uses to how to navigate the magma base.
tabitha is the one that decides to turn to team aqua for help, which doesn’t really go over all that well, for either team. team magma doesn’t trust that they’ll even want maxie to have his memory back in the first place, and team aqua doesn’t trust that it’s not just a trick to try and get the red orb again (since it’s currently under their protection). archie does like the idea of having both teams under his jurisdiction, though, so he agrees on the terms that he’s the one calling the shots and will make the final decision on what they will do and won’t do. unfortunately, giving him the red orb to see if it triggers his memory again is on the list of things that they won’t do. in the meantime, tabitha just has to try to keep the two teams from killing each other while they’re forced to work together. this is easier said than done, especially when all of team aqua is convinced that they’re plotting another attempt at controlling groudon.

are there any other aquatic half-Pokémon other than crasher wake and Archie?
also, can you tell me more about crasher wake in this au?
Yes there is the sharpedo half pokemon his name is Gustav but everyone calls him Gus he's actually a close friend of Maxie
Gus has actually become close friends with Archie as Maxie is in Johto and is planning on surprising Maxie with the information
He loves sea shanties and prefers to stay in the ocean rather then land but he does have a working phone
Crasher Wake is the alpha Floatzel he helps teach the local children how to swim
He is stern as well but he is very kind hearted he is Barry's uncle and Master when it comes to training since his mom babies him and goes easy on him in training
Wake is very protective of Barry and of Lucas too but isn't close enough with Lucas to really help him
He is the one who keeps an eye on the kids
He's also older like 350 years old so he's getting up there but is still able to do his duties and is quite strong

Top 10 legendary pokemon?
Ooh okay
10. Eternatus - took a while but it did grow on me. It looks so alien and weird and like, idk. I feel complicated about it because the climax of swsh is very poorly built up to, but the climax itself is SO cool Eternatus is genuinely so scary
9. Zapdos - I just love this thing's design honestly, both the Kantonian one and the Galarian one are so cool looking. I think I like the Galarian one a bit more tho I love that it's just a spiky roadrunner lmao
8. Registeel - I know the Regis suck I know but oh my god the way to find them in RSE was SO cool. Just having to solve these riddles in braille to find these ancient golems who were locked away because people feared them like!! I miss legendaries like this I miss when finding legendaries was like an optional puzzle rather than something the story requires of you!! It's so much cooler and more satisyfing. Anyway Registeel is my favorite Regi cause he's round :3
7. Dialga - aside from Kricketune it has THE best cry it's like weirdly adorable. Also just looks fucking sick
6. Giratina - soooo edgy and cool and I love the Distortion World SO much. Love that it actually got character development in the time between Volo and Cyrus lmao
5. Groudon - I am a bit biased because of how much I played Ruby as a kid but like Maxie was right about one thing and only one thing Groudon is sick as hell. Kind of got fucked over in og RSE tho cause unlike Kyogre it doesn't actually benefit from the weather it sets, except in the sense that Water moves are weakened I guess
4. Zacian - I love it when legendaries are introduced early in the game and the first meeting with Zacian/Zamazenta in swsh is SO cool I love how atmospheric and mysterious it is it's genuinely a highlight of the game for me. Also I like how Zacian and Zamazenta aren't like, deities per se like they're amazingly powerful and important but on a smaller scale compared to most legendaries I think that's neat! Not all legendaries need to be deities necessarily they can just be powerful mythological figures important to that region specifically
3. Zamazenta - Everything I said about Zacian applies here too and yeah I like him slightly more than Zacian. I know Zacian is better competitively I do not care I like the shield doggo. As funny as it is that Zacian just carries a sword in her mouth, I think incorporating the shield into Zamazenta's design probably took more effort/creativity and the fact that it doesn't look completely stupid is a triumph. I think Zamazenta looks sick as hell honestly and I wish it was as good as Zacian
2. Lunala - that's Nebby my friend Nebby 🥺 I love love love the way Lunala is incorporated into Moon's story (same would go for Solgaleo but like I didn't play Sun and I like Lunala's design more so). I love that it starts out as a weak little Cosmog that you and Lillie constantly need to look out for, and then it evolves into this powerful legendary and it starts protecting you and Lillie to repay you both for being kind to it like 🥺🥺 oh my god. When will we ever get another legendary like this how will they ever recreate this. They Cannot
Mewtwo - does this need explanation

You know we always talk about the champion Mobsters but we never really shed light on the international police of the au
The characters that are the gang leaders and Cannon are actually members of the international police like secret agents / police
Looker is an antihero instead of fighting for justice he just wants the bounty on the mafia leaders heads I'm going for a bounty hunter antihero look looker is extremely interested in Z because he's heard that the bounty on their head is extremely high to set him for life.
The other leaders are very hesitant to trust him but what other choice do they have look our supplies them with valuable information from an unknown source not related to the underground Mafia
Ghetsis is actually a really good and doting father to N. He tries very hard to balance his work and family life he feels extremely bad when there are weeks when his work prioritizes his family a little more he's just a single father with an adult someone who doesn't seem to look his way.
N those are all the time without telling him and his father doesn't stop him because he's an adult he trusts N.
Giovanni is an overworked single (with an angsty teenager son ) who has a very strong sense of justice. Giovanni is incredibly serious and a little cocky about his skill. He wants to get the job done and still make it in time for dinner.... he's sick of takeout
Archie and Maxie can't stop fighting for 2 seconds it was so bad that they split the ho an international police it's a two different teams division aqua and division magma.
Not only their clashing personalities leaves a lots of inviting but clash in the way they do work.
Maxie is all about tactical and collecting as much information as possible before striking at the right moment
Archie wants to charge in pokeballs blazing blast pass defenses and beat the shit out of some bad guys.
Even though it would be 1,000 times better for the two teams to work together Archie add magma being the brains collecting information stealthily taking out and capturing mob grunts carefully planning an attack and division Aqua going in as The Brute Force charging in and attacking, you would be incredibly lucky just to get these two in the same meeting room together
Gusma turned over a new Leaf and he was hired as a new recruit in the international police strike in Pokemon battles and his knowledge of being in a previous gang is very useful.
Lysander is an incredibly smart man always tinkering with broken devices he's a little shy at first but he has a heart of gold. Most of what Lysander makes watch the entire International police you deserve their personal devices so everybody is always kept in close touch with Lysander.
Chairman Rose despite his power in the government is the least active member he's incredibly busy with the Pokemon League and hosting it but he is extremely helpful in funding money on donations towards the international police and their investigation. Chairman Rose only reports information when it's extremely important so when chairman Rose is present in a meeting you know it's serious.
____
These are the leading members of the international police they are the leaders of their investigation team somewhere going to field somewhere in the shadows.
Even though they seem to be just people who work one too many hours to protect their citizens they're also physically strong with their body and their Pokemon. they can hold their own in hand-to-hand combat.
It's a little unfair to forget these guys cuz it's not fun when the mobsters just get to do whatever they want ;)
