Dating Master Splinter (2012) Would Include…

Master Splinter never gets any love :(

As usual GN! Reader

• No PDA. While he does show his love to you through gestures and words, and a hug here or there, he reserves his affection to be in private. It’s not embarrassment or anything, it’s how he was raised.

• When alone, he loves to kiss your cheeks. His whiskers would tickle and cause you to giggle. When you weren’t paying attention, he would sneak a kiss on your lips.

• HUGS! Oh my god. His fur is so soft and warm. When he would envelop you in his giant arms, it was as if a giant teddy bear hugged you. He is very gentle with you, but held tight, especially when you were upset.

• “I love you” would come rarely. This, he wouldn’t hesitate to say in front of his sons. The first time he said he loved you, was after an encounter with the Shredder that left you extremely injured. He wouldn’t leave your side after that day.

• Comfortable silence. Either it be you reading a book and Splinter meditating next to you, you enjoyed each other’s company and time. Maybe a small conversation here and there.

• Of course Splinter being the turtles father, you would take on a parental role. Teaching the brothers patience, compassion for one another. Most of all, love. They love you to death and would do anything to protect you.

• Meals. Everyone loves pizza, but after a while it got repetitive. There would be nights you would mix up and make something new for your family. Of course, Splinter would always appreciate it, especially when you made a new batch of cheesecicles.

• Cuddling. Tons of it. When you both are alone in your room, or when the brothers are on patrol, you would jump at the chance to wrap yourself around your lover and watch tv in the living room. When you were laying down for the night, Splinter would wrap his large paws around your smaller frame, holding you close, snout snuggled into the crook of your neck.

• He would train you to become a Kunoichi. Whether you had past training or not, he would work with you day and night, learning the ways of a ninja. He would treat you the same as his sons in the dojo, pushing you to your limits to become your best self.

• He always makes sure your needs are met. Are you hungry? He has a bowl of soup in front of you. Thirsty? Tea is already brewing. Whatever you needed, he made sure you got.

• Overall he is an amazing spouse and loves you dearly. He isn’t going to make the same mistake to you as he did with Tang Shen. You couldn’t ask for a better rat-man.

I don’t believe in 12 Splinter slander.

Everyone be blaming the poor guy for his children’s trauma, calling him the worst dad ever because the turtles were seen as his students before his sons.

He was a single father with not very much experience.

When Yoshi moved to New York, he was still going through a lot. The love of his life and only child had just died along with his only home burning up in flames.

Eventually he had adopted the four turtles, perhaps to have some company because he was still such a lonely man. And literally seconds after adopting baby turtles, he gets mutated.

Now he has absolutely no where to go with the condition he’s in, and suddenly he’s expected to raise four helpless little turtles.

Yoshi could’ve easily left the turtles when he was first mutated, but he chose to save them and help them because he wasn’t about to lose another thing in his life. Obviously he felt bad for them.

Eventually Splinter gets his life somewhat settled in their new home and accepting the fact that he’s a giant rat raising four turtle sons. But still, raising four boys was new to him. There were going to be some mistakes made that he would learn from.

Miwa had to have been around a year old when she was “killed” so there were going to be so many milestones crossed by his sons that he never got to experience with his daughter. He was really trying to hold on while still attempting to give his sons the best childhood and life possible.

And when the boys came of age, Splinter only decided to train them because they clearly seemed interested, and for self defense. Even if their life seemed calm and safe, Splinter was a worried father and feared that life wouldn’t always be like this (clearly).

Now having four rowdy little ninjas running around, Splinter was probably stressed out. Still, he loved his sons more than anything and was in no way abusive to them. They’re just a handful, especially at such young ages (5?)

As they got older and more independent, they were expected to be responsible. All the times in the show where Splinter would get mad at them and ground them for weeks over a small thing was for their own protection.

Splinter never wanted them to go topside because he knew all about the awful things that happened up there. He never wanted the world to be placed on their young shoulders. But it was, and he pushed them to keep going because he believed they were capable of anything, and to show he cared and loved them the whole way.

When Leo feels overwhelmed with his role as leader he doesn’t hesitate to go to his father ever, because he knows Splinter cares. Splinter never had any intention of harming his sons with these burdens and was always there for them, we just never saw it.

They all look up to Splinter and just don’t want to disappoint him. They’ve all been well disciplined and loved their whole lives. Splinter went through the rockiest of roads to make sure he raised his kids right. He was given a second chance and didn’t want to screw it up.

He was just deeply misunderstood.

Apparently when my younger brother was just born my mom found him napping with his blanket fully covering him, and she pulled back the sheet (worried he couldn't breathe or something) to find him fully awake staring at her. It scared the shit out of her and she still talks about it to this day lmao

I’m convinced that Master Splinter knew what he was saying to Donnie was utter bullshit, but seeing as how intelligent and temperamental Donnie was he knew he couldn’t just unleash this turtle onto the world without some sort of fail-safe.

So for the sake of humanity he would discretely try to convince Donatello that he was a peaceful turtle at heart.

Mostly so Donnie wouldn’t try to take over the world when he got older.

Could I request for headcanons of TMNT 2012 Splinter react to his s/o saying they know how it feels to be discriminated especially of something that they can't control when he asks how are they so open minded?

Splinter reacting to GN! Reader about discrimination

• Splinter was never one for letting words, or even actions get to him. Over the years, he had learned to control his emotions, ever since….

• This one particular day, the turtles were out on a patrol, allowing their father to have some free time. Meditating was usually what he enjoyed, but today, it was the television.

• Remote in hand, arm wrapped around your shoulders, the rat clicked through different channels, eventually the news catching his attention.

• “Mutants running rampid! What are we going to do with these creatures? Trap them? Possibly work with them? The media doesn’t know. This is Lou Jitsu, Channel 6 news!”

• With a small sigh, the older male switched the channel once again, not really caring for what was on the screen. Eyes furrowed, staring at the tv, knew this bothered your spouse, as it did you.

• You never cared for what he had looked like, why do others? “Splinter, you okay?” You asked, turning your attention to your mate, laying your hands on his thigh. “Y/n, throughout my lifetime, humans have always been scared of the unknown. It’s never bothered me; how I look. And I look at you, my mate, living in such fear, hatred. How do you stay open?”

• Giving Splinter a small smile, you could only breathe out a small laugh. “Yoshi, it’s because it’s not just mutants humans have done this too. School bullies? Yeah, I’ve been through that. I’ve been shunned and ridiculed to high hell, but there’s a point where I knew my self worth; where they taught me that judgement is sometimes horrible. I choose to see the good, in people, in you, and our sons. That’s how I do it. You have to push past the fear and anger. If not, it consumes you, you know?”

• With a small “Hm”, the rats gaze bore into yours, a soft look written. “I suppose so, darling.” He muttered, pulling you onto his lap, paws locking onto your back. “You have done so much for me and our sons. With you, my life is normal.”

• Wrapping your arms around Splinter, your face heating up, you planted a small kiss on his snout, making the rats nose scrunch. “With you, my life is perfect. I love you sweetheart.” “And I love you.”
