butch&femme and bear culture have a lot of core concepts in common, specifically defying the expectations of their sexualities and uplifting communities!

uplifting and connecting with your community is inherent to lgbt subcultures, but it doesnt mean you cant do so without being apart of a subculture!

uplifting and connecting with your community also means uplifting other communities! you cannot be butch or femme if you hate bears and vice versa!
