Red Bull has carried out one of their most extreme stunts yet, having sent David Coulthard on a tour of the Czech Republic and Slovakia with their RB7. As part of the tour, Coulthard faced off against 2018 Red Bull Air Race World Champion Martin Sonka. With DC powering the RB7 along the runway at Poprad-Tatry Airport, Sonka flipped his Extra 300SR plane upside down above the Red Bull for the two pilots to meet 'face-to-face'. Akrobatik uçuşlarıyla nefes kesen cesur pilotların yarıştığı Red Bull Air Race’te sezonun dördüncü yarışı, Macaristan’ın Budapeşte kentinde düzenlendi. Tuna Nehri kıyısında tam 165 bin kişi tarafından takip edilen ve büyük bir rekabetle görsel şölen sunan yarışı Martin Sonka kazandı. Çek pilot bu sezon ilk kez bir yarış galibiyeti elde etti. 

Hız ve dengeyi birleştirerek akrobatik hareketler yapan pilotların kozlarını paylaştığı Red Bull Air Race’te heyecan Macaristan’ın başkenti Budapeşte’de yaşandı. Air Race’in manevi evi olarak değerlendirilen ve 165 bin kişi tarafından takip edilen Budapeşte’deki yarışı Martin Sonka kazandı. Çek pilot bu sezon ilk kez podyumda zirvede yer almayı başardı.

Yarış sonunda konuşan Martin Sonka “İnanılmazdı. Muhteşem kalabalığın enerjisi kokpitin içine kadar yansıdı. Podyumun en üst basamağından da manzara şahaneydi. Her seferinde çok seviyorum. Sezonun ortası olması sebebiyle yarışı kazanmak zirveden kopmamak adına çok önemliydi” açıklamasını yaptı.

Tuna Nehri üzerindeki meşhur Zincir Köprü semalarında muhteşem bir rekabete sahne olan yarışta ikinci 30 yaşındaki Mika Brageot oldu. Air Race’in en genç pilotu, kariyerinin en büyük başarısını elde etti. Üçüncü sırayı ise Matt Hall aldı. Avustralyalı pilot genel klasmanda topladığı 45 puanla zirvedeki yerini de korudu. Dört yarış sonunda ABD’li Michael Goulian 43 puanla ikinci, Martin Sonka da 34 puanla üçüncü sırada yer alıyor.

Red Bull Air Race heyecanı 26 Ağustos’ta Rusya’nın Kazan kentinde devam edecek. Gökyüzündeki büyük şölen Kasım ayında son bulacak.
