i've been obsesing over a tlt twilight au solely because of the silly edit with harrow seeing alecto alla bella seeing edward and.

it's so silly and dumb but gideon being the vampire and ianthe being the werewolf and they both obsessively pin over the weird loner wet rat harrow that just moved into town. i wanna say camilla, palamedes, dulcinea (the real one), protesilaus, jeannemary and isaac are part of the same family, all vampires, with abigail and magnus being the parental figures (basically the cullens). the third and second houses i'm thinking are all the werewolves, maybe the eight too. i just love the idea of ianthe and coronabeth being raised to maybe one day both take over the pack until they find out coronabeth is in fact not a werewolf. john and all the remaining of the first would be the volturi ofc but all the cavaliers would actually be alive? i haven't thought that far.

hiii ! thank you so much for asking ! um. this is embarrassing. the truth is. i do not know. i used behindthenames to generate their names and i clicked the russian box bc i love russian names they are good to pronounce. many clicks later i decided on vanya mikhailov, and decided that his puppet should have a russian name as well and loved marta so picked that one

i don't have a 100% this-is-canon validation for their names, and i don't think i ever will bc i did just use a generator until i found names that i liked, but i have entertained this scenario:

okay so sidestep is an infiltrator unit thing right. maybe not all of their missions took place in america. and they would need secret identities for these missions - sidestep still does this w their hero name, civilian name, villain name, puppet name, and the made up name they give at the art party in retribution. oh also all the made up names they give out on the daily when required. so maybe while being used by the farm, step was coming up w their secret identity for their missions - step is supposed to be some amazing project right (idk much about the farm i cant read do not @ me) so being AI that is able to create identities and emulate personality would be useful for infiltration units and i absolutely see being something the farm intended of this unit to be capable of. all of this to say, maybe vanyas first mission where he had the option to craft his own secret identity was in russia and this was the first name he gave himself. or maybe it was the name he was using when he first started to realize that he is a person. and he picked marta for the puppet bc he wanted it to match his name (and also she is his girlsona so it's the name he would want for himself if he "were" a girl (he is, its just easier to be in denial when you have a second body to project certain feelings on))

also this save was the first time i played with boris, who also has a russian name despite not being russian. so i love that the three match, and that marta became friends with him

I was listening to the Radio X UTB anniversary interviews and in the Anthony Thornton one he talked about hearing the demo at the NME for the first time and everyone totally stopping because they'd never heard anything like it before. And then they played like a tiny snippet of What A Waster in the background of the interview and I just had this thought of like I think one of the things that is so unique about the Libertines, compared to any other band at the time, is their harmonies. Most other bands that came up after The Strokes or were inspired by them have one lead singer and maybe the bassist does some backing vocals or something, or the lead vocalist harmonizes with himself in the mix on the record. But with the Libs it's two lead singers, truly sharing the role, and it's not like one is sort of just slightly louder backing, it's like they switch back and forth in the middle of songs and harmonize together and trade solos and stuff like that.

And the vocals are definitely really unique. That they have those kinds of harmonies they have, those sort of music hall or shanty-inspired harmonies, but on songs that are a lot faster and more gritty and post-punk indie rock than you'd expect a harmony like that to be on. And they share and switch off who’s singing the main melody and who’s harmonizing, who’s doing the backing line that follows the main one, who’s playing and who’s singing solo. It's like their weird loving rivalry and desire to impress/one-up each other made them have to also be an equal pair onstage vocally, which I don't think is really a thing in any other band from that time.

But no one seems to really talk about that vocal aspect, it's all the guitars and the vibes and the energy, and the musical hall stylings, at least in these interviews. And in a lot of other articles and commentary about them too. Obviously the energy and vibes between the two of them are the most noticeable and probably the most important, but I think their way of singing and utilizing two vocalists is pretty unique, too.

"Too Sweet" touches the parts of my soul I didn't think Hozier's song could touch. I didn't think a song could touch. Yet, here we are. How he keeps doing it? How he just... gets it?

I know he writes beautifully about love. I know his songs about politics and social matters are important and thoughtful and brilliant. "Too Sweet" is neither, really. It's simple, yet not simple at all. And it's amazing. I'm in awe.

Tumblr kept deleting it in my long Dotnw thread trying to fix information for the bubby @goron-king-darunia but what played soccer briefly in true adhd fashion in my head is;

Could you imagine a version of the plot where Ratatosk isn't automatically amnesia'd and dealing with split personality problems. He had a goal- granted a half thought out one from the sudden hatching of his core and exhaustion that would come from premature hatching after recently being wounded extremally. Decides in that quickened haze to put the Jewel on whoever hatched them in a bid to recruit them, and the plan is- once his new legs don't feel like jello beneath him- to find his centurions and figure out along the way what to do once he recovers his power and etc; telling whatever lie needed to get help. It's not like Tenebrae, his most loyal centurion, will betray him. Not unlike mortals. and then oops along the way, he relearns his love for mortals and realized the lies he told them are no longer lies. Just 🥺🥺🥺

I know out of context from my long rambling that tumblr deleted twice this may be confusing but I promise it had a place in among all that. It's just yeetus deletus because fuck me.
