A scrapped panel from Marzipanland that never made it into the finished comic due to a nasty program crash.
Comic Workshop 2 is a fine game for drawing with. But it becomes a little unstable when it comes to creating unique panel layouts.
Thankfully, I don't face issues like this anymore. Especially with the new coloring method I've learned.

This was something I made for Marzipanland that would've been used as the back cover for the physical release of the comic. It was scrapped after I had to keep the comic in a digital format.
I also cropped it so I could use it as a new front cover to replace the old one.

This one wasn't used in the comic as it wasn't the same size as the pages. (That, and Missy wasn't in it.) It managed to see some use on the comic's purchase page.
As a side note, the renders used here were the first art pieces made with my modern coloring technique.

I was reluctant to share these. But seeing as Marzipanland has been available for a few months now, I don't see any harm in doing so.
This is a scene that was cut from the final version of the comic. It has Kuricha and Marrisso fight against Coach Swimman and his henchmen. While finalizing Marzipanland, I thought these pages were too poor in quality compared to the others and would have turned some readers off. That's why I made the decision to remove them. They would've taken place between pages 37 and 38.
Many other pages didn't end up in the final release. But the ones shown here are notable, as they feature a character who would've been scrapped had it not been for his other appearances throughout Marzipanland.

I heard that yesterday was St. Andrew's Day. Seeing as I LOVE Scotland, I knew that I HAD to make something for it.
So, here's Marrisso wearing a kilt and donning a tam o' shanter as he happily invites you to listen to his bagpipe playing!

Some character sketches of a few characters from Marzipanland that I made while working on the OP animatic. (along with a few hand practices for Kuricha.)

Also, Marrisso was supposed to be a Scottish cow (which, was based off of a cool dream that I had!)
But, I redesigned him to look more cuter and (sort of) similar to Kuricha.

Earlier this week, I started making a comic about Marzipanland! It tells the story of Kuricha and Marrisso as they go on a journey to defeat Marzipan and the Area Leaders, rescue Missy, and save the country of Marzipanland!
This is the cover for it!

At long last! After a whole month of anticipation, the official trailer for Marzipanland is finally here!
Just look at how glorious Kuricha, Marzipan, and the rest look in full 3D!
This trailer took a while to record considering my current living conditions. But, it was all worth it to showcase my magnum opus with the world! (I had to miss out on it being shown in the recent Nintendo Direct though...)
That’s not all though! A free demo will be available on the Switch eshop on midnight. So, it’s a perfect way to try out the game if you’re interested. And, any save data from the demo can be carried over to the full version once it comes out!
Get ready to KICK THE CAN September 22nd!

WELCOME TO MARZIPANLAND!
We've seen enough of the Marzipanland anime. But, what about the game? Marzipanland is a new indie game I'm developing for the Nintendo Switch!
The story centers around the wicked Demon Queen Marzipan using her family's infamous black magic to cast a curse on the country of Marzipanland. Transforming the townspeople into fruits, statues, and gold. The only person capable of breaking the spell is a young fox girl named Missy. Knowing of this, Marzipan kidnapped her and is now holding her hostage in her home of Castle Marzipan. Kuricha, the hero of our story(maybe...), sees the terrible state of the country, and sets off on an adventure to rescue Missy, defeat Marzipan, and save the entirety of Marzipanland!
Inspired by cult classic titles from the 1980's and 1990's such as Mendel's Palace and Cratermaze, Marzipanland is a top down arcade-esque beat em' up where you must kick your enemies to any side of the screen in order to defeat them!
Walking watermelons, boy obsessed teachers, and punk rock dogs will all be chasing after you! And the 8 Area Leaders of each area aren't keen on letting you enter Castle Marzipan without putting up a fight. So, the best thing you can do is give em' a swift kick to wherever!
A second player can join in and play as Kuricha's best friend/sidekick, Marrisso! Compete against each other or work together in order to save the citizens of Marzipanland from the clutches of the evil Marzipan!
I've got a trailer complete with gameplay and a release date of September 22nd. But, that’ll have to wait for tomorrow!

It’s been a gruesome month of hard work. But, it was all worth it for this. A while ago, I teased that I was in the midst of making a new indie game for the Nintendo Switch. That game is called Marzipanland! And, while that game is definitely real, there was also something else that I was hiding. Something that would be even bigger than the game. Ladies and gentlemen of the internet, I present to you an animatic for the Marzipanland anime series. After saving Missy from the clutches of the evil Marzipan, she, Kuricha, and Marrisso head off to explore the country of Marzipanland! Helping out many people and thwarting Marzipan’s plans along the way. You might think that it’d seem a little farfetched for me to be working on something like an anime. But, I’ve been doing storyboard and animatics since I was a kid (I did some episodes for Koni-Chan and Bunnicula). Last Summer, I did some work for an animation studio in a large city located in my country. The studio’s name was Bento Stave. After the Summer ended, I parted ways with them, and left to start College. Back in February, they heard the news that I was working on an indie game for the Nintendo Switch, and asked if they could create a new anime for it. Come a few weeks later, Marzipanland the animated series is born! As the title states, this is the animatic for the opening of the show. With a theme song provided by the excellent London Bus Stop. It’s a fast paced opening designed to get you moving on your feet! With lyrics that’ll stay in your head for days! The show’s air slot is a special case as it won’t air on something like Cartoon Network. Nor Disney XD. Instead, me and Bento Stave created a new programming block where shows like Marzipanland are set to air on. Kids Station! It’s a localized version of the Japanese Kid’s Station meant to air new shows to a wide audience of children. Bento Stave also got the license to dub shows such as Kaiketsu Zorori and Koni-Chan (don’t worry! They’re not gonna give them the 4Kids treatment!). I’d love to keep talking about it. But, we’re getting off track a bit. For more information on local times for Kids Station, stick around for more information. There’s already some scripts written for a few episodes, and the first two have already been completed. I never thought that I could achieve something as big as this. But, here we are. I hope you all enjoy this animatic, and look forward to some fun times with Kuricha and friends!
