Que gran batalla interna está siendo mi vida en este momento, pero... ¿Realmente es mi vida eso? No lo es, estoy aprendiendo a reconocer mi ego, mi aferramiento y el querer controlar el dolor... Y aprendiendo a qué no es como quiero vivir, no quiero sentirme bien, quiero sentir bien... No quiero controlar ya nada de mi vida, refiriéndome a las cosas que no puedo controlar.... Y sobre todo, quiero dejar ir todo...

Día con día medito y hago el esfuerzo por dejar ir los pensamientos, cacharme y estar en el presente... Estoy aprendiendo tantas cosas que ahora veo todo muy diferente... Y no lo digo por presunción, quiero, si tengo la oportunidad, de ayudar a las personas en cuanto a mis posibilidades... Pero sin que me absorba su problema.

Marichuy, te extraño y no hay día que no pases por mi cabeza, el contacto cero me duele inmensamente, e incluso siento que aunque mi amor por ti trascienda, jamás dejaré de amarte, mi corazón siempre será tuyo y no se si ese sea un problema, quiero aprender a amarte libremente, amarte de lejos aunque así tenga que ser, sin condición, sin cadena... Claro que me encantaría que tú me amarás a mi y estuvieras conmigo, claro que sí, pero tengo que soltar ese ego y saber cuál es mi realidad.

Estoy aprendiendo nuestra condición como humanos, teniendo está autocompasión por mi para poder tener compasión por los demás y reconocer que somos eso, humanos, no somos perfectos, estamos muy lejos de serlo...

Dar segundas oportunidades, incluso para uno mismo es reconocer esa condición, saber que podemos siempre ser más concientes, que podemos mejorar y aprender de nosotros mismos y de los demás.

Aprendí mucho de ti, tanto, que sigo aprendiendo, tanto que puedo ver los cimientos de una muchísimo mejor versión que yo y de eso me estoy agarrando, me estoy agarrando de mis psicólogas, del aprendizaje, de mi mismo...

Claro que sí, desarrolle una gran dependencia emocional y ahora se muy bien por qué, pero se que se puede trabajar, dentro y fuera de la relación (relación que ya no hay), con la paciencia y el debido ejercicio. Y lo voy a hacer, por mi, no por nadie más, por mi, porque quiero sanar lo mío, quiero sanar mi pasado, y poder tener mejores relaciones que me aporten, que sean sanas, que me ayuden a crecer y a reflexionar y me inviten siempre a tener una apertura y flexibilidad psicológica para poder adaptarme y crecer.

Ya toque fondo muchas veces y vi a los ojos al abismo, sentí lo que fue el miedo a la muerte y quiero tener las herramientas necesarias para poder regresar cuando pueda... Porque pensar que no puedo regresar sería no aceptar que soy humano, que puedo llegar a ser débil, pero también muy fuerte, que puedo llegar a ser de muchas muchas maneras... Pero también puedo ser de otras.

Soy, me quiero completar y para nada etiquetar o juzgar. Quiero vivir en mi presente y aprender de todo y todos.

Te amo, te extraño, pero elijo hacerlo, desde mi libertad. Siento y siento muy fuertemente las emociones y qué alegría! Porque vivir no es vivir sin dolor, la satisfacción no es vivir sin cosas negativas.... Vivir satisfactoriamente es vivir toda la gran gama de emociones que ofrece esta experiencia de ser humano. El amor propio duele, pero también se aprende.

How an indigenous woman left her mark on a tumultuous presidential campaign in Mexico

“Mexico has been kidnapped by those in power, and with your help we’re going to get her back!” said María de Jesús Patricio at a political rally on 11 February. Her supporters filled the plaza outside the Palacio de Bellas Artes – a historic cultural hub in the heart of Mexico City – to listen to the woman that they hope can bring about a radical change in Mexican society.  

Marichuy, as Patricio is commonly known, is an indigenous Nahua healer from the state of Jalisco in western Mexico. She was nominated by the National Indigenous Congress (CNI), a coalition of 58 indigenous groups, as their spokesperson to represent them in this year’s presidential campaigns.

Though she did not succeed in collecting the required number of signatures to stand in the elections, expected 1 July 2018, the CNI says they will not be deterred. “After the 2018 elections there will be many more and we are going to carry on fighting,” said councilwoman Yamili Chan Dzul, from Yucatán in southern Mexico, at the February rally. “We are going to keep moving forward. This [campaign] is a call for us to awaken our consciousness.”  

Gathering the 866,593 signatures – 1% of the average number of registered voters in each state – that independent candidates need to enter the race for president proved problematic for the CNI.

Throughout their campaign for Marichuy’s candidacy, the congress argued that the mechanism for collecting signatures heavily discriminates against indigenous communities, which constitute the core of their support base.

Signatures are provided via a National Electoral Institute app, but many living in indigenous communities do not own mobile phones, let alone devices which connect to the internet. In Mexico, internet users account for just 60% of the population, according to World Bank data.

Marichuy was the first ever indigenous woman who attempted to stand as a candidate for the presidency, backed by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN).
