Haikyuu marching band HCs

Lol this is my very first au and HC

Warning it is VERY VERY long

It’s 6969 words 😂

Hinata:

I definitely see him as a trumpet player

Seriously

He’s chaotic

Loud

Has the capacity lung wise to be loud

Sucks ass at it though and is last chair

Like muhfucka can barely play his concert Bb scale like 🤨

Bitch how u gonna be first chair if you can barely play a beginning level scale 🤨

His goal is absolutely to be brass captain or at least trumpet section leader on the field and first chair for concert

Basically he has a lot of work to do before getting that far

Has to enlist help from third years a lot

Can’t play a high note without passing out

Seriously thinks he can chair challenge Atsumu or Ushijima (spoiler alert he can’t)

Kageyama:

I can see him playing clarinet honestly

Constantly is trying for solos

But can’t get any

He isn’t last chair but is pretty far away from first chair

He can play high notes but they sound absolutely awful and are always flat

His technique tonguing and finger wise are really good

But his tone sucks ass

Honestly thinks he can one up Oikawa and eventually take woodwind captain from him

Problem is though is that Kageyama doesn’t have the social capacity to be a leader of any kind

Is trying to chair challenge people but keeps losing

Only one he was able to successfully do was against kindaichi but only cause Kindaichi was hella unprepared

Kindaichi ended up taking his chair placement back from him 😂

He’s like 6th to last chair out of like 18 people

Tsukishima

Clarinet all the way

Really good

3rd chair

Could not give less of a shit about leadership

Makes fun of Kageyama every. Single. Time he fails a chair challenge

Annihilated Kageyama when he tried to chair challenge him

The tuba section keeps trying to recruit him for his height

Bokuto and Kuroo keep trying and failing to

Has to help Yamaguchi with transposing because some instruments are weird with transposing

Overall does not care about chair placement except when challenged by someone stupid like Kageyama

Makes fun of Hinata for sucking absolute ass and not being able to play the chromatic scale

Doesn’t practice beyond the bare minimum but is still better than Kageyama who is always practicing

Yamaguchi

Plays alto sax

He wants to be good enough to get one sax solo at least

Knows he could be cut out for leadership but is too shy

Fell ass backwards into 4th chair somehow

Probs because he’s pretty decent at sight reading

Keeps forgetting how to transpose for concert scales and key signatures

Can play 32nd notes for some reason but can’t perfectly hit it all the time

Despite being the way he is he can play fucking LOUD

The section was playing careless whisper as a meme at a football game and he accidentally held the last note too long and everyone immediately figured out that he single handedly carried the whole ass section during the song

Is waaaaaaayyyyy to shy to ask his section leaders for help with stuff he can’t do and is too scared to ask Oikawa for help with drill despite it always being offered to everyone regardless of seniority status (unless it’s Kageyama cause ya know)

Overall everyone really likes him and keeps pushing him to go for 1st chair in concert at least

Yachi

Precious smol bean is in guard and always gets scared when having to do big tosses like doubles or anything bigger than a single on flag or triple on rifle

The first time she got a big toss everyone cheered

This also happened in front of the band

She got screams of “Congratulations!” from everybody outside of her section and got heavy praise from the leaders afterwards who had seen her struggle for so long

Everyone loves her too

All the section leaders love her too

Hell that night Oikawa, Bokuto, Kuroo, Kiyoko, and Hinata took her out to dinner and refused to let her pay for it

And because of that she became more confident and tried more even if it got her hurt

Because her peeps had her back always and all the time

(shout out to Suga for always seeing it when it happens and taking care of it afterwards)

Nishinoya

Euphonium

Easily

He may be smol but holy hell can he be LOUD on euph

Not big enough for tuba but plays this behemoth on the field and trombone for concert

Good enough to be assistant section leader on the field and second chair in concert for trombone

Uses his good playing for memes with Tanaka

Likes to mess with his section mates by sneaking up on them and playing jaws but doesn’t realize it doesn’t have the same effect as the tuba does

Hides Ennoshita’s and Asahi’s instruments constantly

Daichi gets mad at him and makes him run all the time for this

Iwaizumi makes him run too

Basically the drum majors and brass captain are always on his and Tanaka’s asses for them being chaotic degenerates

That doesn’t stop noya from getting a shit load of jazz solos or wind solos

Tanaka

Tuba

Definition of the chaotic tuba player

He’s good but can’t hit the super low register

Keeps trying to pedal but can’t 😂

Kuroo and Bokuto do not handle him at all so poor Iwaizumi has to be on his ass all the time

Always gets yelled at by Daichi and makes him run with Noya when they both fuck up or one does something stupid but no one knows who did it

Like that one time someone vandalized the colorguard room and no one knew who did it

They both ran but neither of them actually did it 💀

Thinks he’s all that but he’s 7th chair out of 14 tubas so he cuttin it reeeeaaaaal close to being considered trash

Only made the second level concert class (symphonic band)

Poor Noya didn’t have him in Wind Ensemble with him which made everyone sigh with relief so no one could cause chaos

Is still mad that he wasn’t in Wind Ensemble despite him being third chair in Symphonic

The other 3 second years (couldn’t remember any of em but Ennoshita because they are irrelevant)

They’re all clarinets

They’re all pretty mid

Ennoshita is trying to go for drum major tho

That’s really it

Asahi

The only calm tuba player

Seriously

But

He can hit a pedal note

Which Tanaka is salty about

Asahi is 4th chair in wind and so 4th overall

Not bad

Plays well just can’t be loud

Gets so scared when Noya hides his horn

He never tattles but Iwa and Daichi still find out

Has to carry his mouthpiece with him because of this

Has a good tone

Faints when 16th notes appear in the show music tho

But otherwise pretty good

Suga

Finally a flute

Thank god

3rd chair

Assistant section leader of this enormous section

Like 40 people big

Respects Osamu as his head section leader

That doesn’t stop him from chair challenging ‘Samu all the time

He wins half the time but gets usurped all the time

Seriously someone help the band director

Poor Daichi has to watch this shit all the time

Has gotten a few solis

Mainly if there was a flute quartet he’d make it

Same with a trio

Rarely has gotten a solo

Only in Symphonic his 1st year was he able to achieve this every time

He’s like hella good with theory tho

Is the reason Asahi doesn’t die on sight with 8th notes

Helps anyone who needs help with their uniforms or if they get injured

Sole “helper” of the bands cripple tent during practice where mostly guard kids go and anyone who was unfortunate enough to get hit with equipment

He also has a tendency to treat his section mates like his own baby ducklings so if someone hurts one of them he finna be on yo ass for it

Checks in on every individual person separately at random an adjust shoots the shit with them so they can have a buddy to talk to

He basically is the band’s unofficial nurse and he is regularly scolding the same like 8 people for not drinking their water and passing out due to heat exhaustion

Daichi

Drum major (duh)

He plays French Horn and played Mellophone before he was drum major

Takes his job seriously

Always has to make the same 8 people run

And those people are:

Nishinoya, Tanaka, Matsukawa, Hanamaki, Atsumu, Hinata, Kageyama, and Terushima

There was a time once where he made all 8 of them do their own separate running block after practice and had poor Iwaizumi controlling the Glock Block from the sidelines

Is actually 3rd chair in Wind Ensemble

He’s good but there are 2 people better than him

He doesn’t mind this

He has all the attention on the field and it’s nice to have a break from that in his concert class

Has practice running like a well oiled machine despite the 8 morons

He does his best at section leader meetings to remind section leaders and captains to bond with their sections and squads

Kiyoko

Drum Major

Did colorguard up until the point that someone realized she played every kind of saxophone known to man and had a wicked sense of timing and conducting skills

She’s always making note of what she can do better to conduct better at shows

Makes her conducting large and easy to see

Rarely makes people run

She always is refilling the big jug in case people run out of water during practice

Has to constantly deal with womanizing morons like Yahaba and the other altos so she looks at Akaashi when she’s uncomfortable and Akaashi makes those morons run

Brings up her notes and observations at leader meetings regarding timing, ways every section can contribute after practice to make things more efficient, and best of all she brings up how to make the bus rides not suck for people and have solutions for people who get car sick

Seriously she was on the bus Hinata was on when he puked all over the floor in the back of the bus on Noya and Tanaka

She never has to worry about any leaders disrespecting her because they only drink their respect women juice or are already women

Makes sure the colorguard kids understand how conducting works and how to keep in time with the major’s hands during practice without the assistance of the metronome

She also always carries pads and tampons should anyone ever need any sort of sanitary products at rehearsal

NEKOMA

Kuroo

Tuba section leader

Yep

He’s one of the 2 reasons several others have to make Tanaka, Matsukawa, and Hanamaki run

Hell sometimes he gets told to run and his entire argument is “what did I do? That’s right. The answer is nothing 💅🏻 ”

Next thing he knows Kenma is popping behind him with pictures of Daishou on his phone and threatening him with them saying he’ll call him if he doesn’t get his ass running 😂

But all jokes aside he’s a pretty good leader

Always making sure his underclassmen understand their drill and music

He also is always keeping track of everyone’s grades so no one has to get kicked out for having a too low GPA

He’s 2nd chair in the wind ensemble class (he’s only a little salty but not very much)

Sometimes he shows up to the concert band class where most of the underclassmen are and terrorizes everyone in his section by sneaking up behind them and asks them if they’ve been practicing outside of rehearsal like they’re supposed to

The one he terrorizes the most is Lev who is the newest to the instrument because he keeps complaining about the weight

And everytime he does Kuroo shoots back with “well if you’re complaining this bad with a sousaphone I don’t look forward to your complaints about when we get contras”

Kenma

Assistant bari sax section leader

He picked it because:1. Kuroo is a brass player so that equals less Kuroo harassment and 2: his music isn’t always super complicated so he can afford to be lazy

He realized soon enough he picked the right instrument family because even though the woodwinds are chaotic they aren’t like the brass who are constantly doing stupid shit that makes Daichi mad

Does not like going to section leader meetings

Not because Kuroo is there (they are best friends after all)

But because it means more work for him later

And he’s gotta listen to Atsumu talk about how great his section is (despite it being a dumpster fire half the time)

The only thing he likes about leader meetings is getting to complain about the alto sax players (except Yamaguchi because he’s chill)

He also likes complaining about how much of assholes some of the clarinets are and a very very small handful of flutes (like maybe 3 at most)

He manages to turn his drill into a video game somehow and memorizes it that way.

He syncs up the show music up to it too

No one knows where he gets the time to do this

He almost never practices outside of rehearsal and still is better than the section leader somehow

Like mofo is 1st chair in Wind Ensemble directly diagonal from Kuroo

He’s the one who tunes the class at the beginning

Because screw the clarinets they’re never in tune (there I said it)

Warms up with video game music which is actually a lot harder than it looks.

Yamamoto

Euphonium section leader (jee I wonder why Iwa is always the one who has to keep Noya in check…)

He’s about as chaotic as you’d expect

First guy to go shirtless at practice

Or just shows up to band camp with no shirt

Everyone is just used to it by now honestly

Or if he does he wears those super low cut tank tops where the “sleeves” sag hella low

Only one without a weird farmers tan

Gets mad that he has no tan lines like…dude…wtf

His chaoticness is the reason the morale with the euphs is high

And strangely for how chaotic he is he never really causes trouble

Just responds really emphatically

Is always the one of first ones to finish running regular laps for conditioning (I’m telling you band kids do A LOT of running)

Plays the loudest without a doubt

First chair trombone in Wind Ensemble with Noya always challenging him

Seriously the back and forth is insane they sit next to the baritones so this means that any real authority over these 2 is kinda far away

Yaku

Bass clarinet section leader

Always keeps an eye on the low winds because there’s some weird shit that happens there

Never with Kenma though

It always starts because of the tenors getting into it with them about who sounds better them or the altos

Yaku always elbow dives into this to get it to stop and just says “you both sound good now leave my section alone

Keeps an eye on Kenma to make sure he’s not trying to either fall asleep or avoid drinking water

Always carries reeds of all sizes

Hell he even carries bassoon and oboe reeds

Is the biggest cork grease supplier 2nd only to Oikawa

He’s always having to fix reeded instruments because he’s the only one who knows how to for some reason

He’s like a mom to a bunch of toddlers basically

Fukunaga

Alto sax section leader

He honestly tries his best

But alas people are just degenerates sometimes

1st chair alto in wind and the ensemble overall

Ultimate drink supplier

No one knows where he gets his supply from and no one questions it either

Always takes part in the “get Kenma to try harder” activities

Let’s just say Yaku has had to fix his horn more than 25 times because of this

If there’s an alto sax solo he gets it by default because everyone else will try to kill each other to get it

It’s hilarious to him when everyone else asks if he’s gonna give it up and he just…doesn’t respond

Lev

Last chair tuba player

Like…last in concert band bad

Can only play like 3 notes bad

This gives Kuroo and Bokuto a good reason to harass him into him getting more help during sectionals because they’re honestly sick of his shit

The only one who can help him is Iwa because his section leaders are either not patient enough to deal with him or are too airheaded to help

So Lev got roped into the sectionals that were 4 times a week to help the people who were struggling get the extra attention and personal assistance needed

He got forced to go by all of his senpais

Like he literally got his ass dragged there with his collar by Kuroo

Poor boi kept trying to leave insisting he was ok and he could handle himself

Hinata eventually convinced him to stay and that’s the thing that made Lev willingly go there that moment onward

Tries to harass Kenma only for his water jug to mysteriously go missing and then Daichi made him give Lev’s jug back

Lev never harassed Kenma after having to go the entire 9 hour practice with no water

FUKURODANI

Bokuto

Assistant tuba section leader

Can’t keep a serious face for shit during sectionals

Always making silly faces to make his shy underclassmen come out of their shells

This works all of the time

Despite his silly flippant attitude he is the 3rd chair tuba in wind ensemble and surprisingly good at what he does

Is always getting into pedal (the lowest possible note on a tube) competitions with Kuroo to see who can do it better

Never makes any of his sectionmates run because he doesn’t believe in discipline for some reason

Always cracks jokes at leader meetings

His chaotic energy is harmless until he hits emo mode after losing something like penny wars or even a competition

It takes a bit for his smile to comeback

If anyone needs life help he’s always there and ready to hear anyone out regardless of section

Flute player having relationship problems? He gotchu. Trumpet player having issues with his alto sax best friend? He gotchu.

Hell he is even willing to help people who have no lunch out

Or sits with the lonely people who want friends but have a hard time making them

That’s why he’s a section leader

He brings people together and uplifts them

Akaashi

4th chair flute player

Almost was assistant section leader

Suga did slightly better than him in the interview

Even then he still helps people out and keeps immaculate tabs on a lot of things

The instrument shelves are a mess and people can’t find their instruments? Boom he fixes it and makes a stupid-proof system

Rarely gets competitive

If its a solo he likes he’ll try to go for it

But respectfully

Not stereotypical going to war for the solo kinda guy

If he doesn’t get the solo he understands

He doesn’t cry about it

Just tries better next time

Everyone respects him for it

Makes sure people are drinking water

As in just friendly reminders to

Is good with academics so he helps out where he can

Tutors underclassmen and Bokuto for free

Goes for drum major and gets it

So it ends up being him, Daichi, Kiyoko, and Kita

4 very efficient drum majors

Is like the other woodwind mom despite being a drum major

Always is checking in on woodwind sectionals

Conducting if someone needs him to

People are always saying he’s their favorite drum major 🙂

Kaori and Yukie:

Colorguard captains

Constantly hyping everyone up

They make people run if they hit anyone

Warns the girls not to get duped by Atsumu

Constantly has dance parties so everyone is happy and comfortable

Always get put in charge of trash because they don’t do anything else to contribute to the field or band room

AOBA JOHSAI

Oikawa

FINALLY

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE

1st chair flute overall

Woodwind captain

Takes his job very seriously

Flute repair magician

Gets like every solo

As in 99/100 solos

Never is able to be chair challenged

Seriously the director just has him play the chair placement piece for everyone and he hands the random numbers out to everyone for when they play

He never has to partake since no one is even close to his skill level

Both as a musician and flute player

Is literally the best woodwind captain anyone could have asked for

Asks EVERYONE if they need help

Like if he notices you don’t have a stretching partner? He gotchu

Struggling to understand why you’re messing up a specific part of a song? He’ll sit next to you and guide you through it regardless of instrument

Transposing master

Is the reason the concert band kiddos understand how transposing works

Like he’ll write on the white board in very neat printing: TRUMPETS/CLARINETS GO UP 1 FULL STEP, ALTO SAXOPHONES DOWN 3 WHOLE STEPS etc.

Makes cheat sheets for all the underclassmen who struggle with key signatures

At practice during warm up he personally tunes everyone in his section and anyone the other section leaders may have forgotten

He does water jug checks

Where Akaashi just reminds people to drink water Oikawa straight up opens someone’s water jug to make sure they either brought water or have been drinking it

If he suspects someone hasn’t been drinking their water he puts his jug close to theirs and watches them like a hawk while drinking his water

For example:

“Hey Y/N are you making sure to stay hydrated?”

“Y-yes?”

“May I see?” opens your jug to see it's bone dry from not being filled at all “ah here’s the problem! There’s none in here! I’ll be right back!”

And he’s off to fill your jug to the brim

“Here you go! Now make sure you stay hydrated. It's hot out today 😉!”

And he stands there and watches you drink

Like no joke he WILL make sure you do it

AND he checks your jug right after practice to make sure it’s more than half empty

He also makes sure people are wearing their sunscreen

Don’t like sunscreen? Too bad he’s already spraying you with his and then rubbing it in

Sitting alone at lunch/dinner break?

Boom a wild Oikawa appears out of nowhere and sits across from you too

Remember the water jug thing from earlier?

Yeah he does that with food too

Don’t have any food? He’s grabbing something from the vending machine

Don't even try to think of paying him back for it

He wants to make sure everyone is happy and healthy!

Don’t have any friends? He’s inviting you over to his normal table and smoothly integrating you into the conversation

He also really cares about people especially when something happens (ie someone passes out on the field

He always is the one to carry them to shade and sit with them for a while while they recover and he makes sure they rest before going back out there again

He also likes hugging people in his section randomly with no warning

Iwaizumi

Brass captain

1st chair tuba overall

Wants to strangle Nishinoya, Tanaka, Matsukawa, Hanamaki, Atsumu, and Hinata like all the time for fucking things up all the time

He glares at Atsumu all the time at leader meetings as if to say ‘don’t you say a fucking word unless it’s absolutely necessary”

Runs the after school extra sectionals for anyone who needs it

Gets Oikawa to help with the woodwinds because he knows more about that than he does

Had to tell Lev several times to stop trying to blow without buzzing his lips

And as much as some of the people in his own section gets on his nerves he loves ‘em all like brothers

Has to scare Hinata into not overblowing and passing out (this causes him to faint anyway but Iwa’s trying his best)

Even if you’re not in brass he’s always willing to help with pushing props

Literally doesn’t matter if he’s got somewhere to be

He’s gonna help

He hates watching people be ditched by the other people who are on that prop with them

He WILL ask you who else is supposed to help you with the prop and pressures you into giving their names and sections and reporting them to their leaders/captains respectively

Bari-sax player ditching you? He’s already texting Yaku, Kenma, and Oikawa

Someone who’s a snare supposed to help you? Too late he’s already texting Suna and Kyotani

Doesn’t matter how much you protest he’s gonna report them

Brass kid ditch you? Uh-oh. If it’s a tuba they’re in mega trouble with him. If it’s any other section he tell their leaders.

Hell it’s the only time Noya makes people run

Refuse to run your laps because you were being stupid? Hes literally chasing you while you chase Noya who’s got ur instrument

Mofo does NOT mess around

Not kidding

But if you need help he’s gotchu

Also checks in on his peeps to make sure they’re taking care of themselves

But is more aggressive and direct about it

In a loving way of course

Didn’t bring water to practice in your jug because you think water is for the weak? Next time you come back for a water break he’s shoving it into your hands and telling you to drink until he tells you to stop

Hanamaki

5th chair tuba overall

He and Mattsun are always doing some kind of degen bullshit

He and Mattsun vandalized the guard room

They almost got away with it

If it wasn’t for Kyotani catching them in the act and caught them red handed doing it

Is pretty good and doesn’t try too hard

Doesn’t go all out until he's improving for visual stuff

Does the weirdest shit for visual stuff too

You’d think having a sousa/contra would deter him from being able to do a lot

But he can do a lot

Once put his foot on Hinata’s shoulder during a show and no it did not end well for him

Iwa ended up hitting him with a chair he was so fucking mad

He’s Fukunaga’s most frequent buyer

Seriously he’s made bank of of Makki and Mattsun

Matsukawa

Speaking of Mattsun

6th chair tuba overall

Is the mastermind of all the degen bullshit

Bribes Makki into joining him

Steals Lev’s mouthpiece just for shits and giggles

Sends memes to Makki during Symphonic band all the time

And Makki reciprocates

They also clown on Tanaka in the Symphonic tuba chat since there's like 10 of them in there

Also is a frequent buyer from Fukunaga

Is the reason Makki can still buy from him

Well and he also sells valve oil at a weirdly small markup

But he still makes bank from it

Pranked lev by putting fiberglass polish instead of silver brass polish in his polish so his tuba is a weird white color and he has to scramble with Asahi to fix it

He’s really good at making it look like Nishinoya or Tanaka did all the pranks for some reason

Sometimes Iwa catches on and busts his ass for it

Also Rickrolled the whole class by proxy just by Rickrolling the band teacher during the middle of class

Once stole Kyotani’s drumsticks and ended up getting hit with a snare drum harness

Kyotani

Snare section leader

Is scary as fuck to EVERYONE

Only Suna isn’t scared of him bc of all the blackmail content he’s got on the bastard

Is CONSTANTLY making people in his section run for disrespecting him

Makes up for his shitty attitude and behavior with how good he is

Not just playing either

His sticktricks are fucking GOD TIER

Makes Terushima look like a noob

The only snare player who understands how the fuck dynamics work

Got mad at a colorguard girl for stealing his stick tape

Got back at her by stealing all of her tapes

Tries not to interact with anyone at leader meetings

Gets roped into leader bonding activities with a bunch of eccentric wind leaders for some reason

Always is practicing subconsciously

Doesn’t matter where he is

He always is

He also leads by example

Except for getting into fights at competitions

Then its an issue

Yahaba

Alto sax scrub

Seriously he is the definition of the alto sax player being a dick stereotype

Thinks he’s all that when in reality he's in the lower middle chair area in symphonic

Tries to one up people and fails hilariously

Tries to challenge people and fails all the time

Fukunaga tells him he needs to stop doing that because it’s wasting people’s time

Is always being made to run by Fukunaga (and Oikawa if he enlists his help)

Tries to act like he’s better than people

Tries to form cliques and fails

Only ends up making friends with all the tom players who think they’re all super stars

Watari

Bass drum player

In Between mediocre and really good

Feels like it’s nothing to write home about

Is probs the most humble person in the entire battery squad

Pleasant

Helpful

Quiet

And he performs well

And thats all there is to it

Kindaichi

Clarinet

As mentioned earlier he’s a clarinet and takes joy in being a higher chair than Kageyama

He does his best and is always praised for his efforts

He even once got a “good job” from Oikawa during his concert band class

Always has TonalEnergy open on his phone

Kunimi

Clarinet

Always on his phone

But still a higher chair than Kageyama

Really kinda blends in and that’s all he wants

Never causes a ruckus

And all the leaders are thankful for that

SHIRATORIZAWA

Ushijima

Trumpet section leader

Constantly bugs Oikawa with the same phrase over and over again:

“You should have become a trumpet. We could have been a good duo”

This of course pisses Oikawa off to no end

And what does Oikawa do since he’s in a higher power than Ushijima?

That’s right

He makes his large ass run 2 laps

And then Daichi makes him run for abuse of power

He still thinks it was worth it

Hinata looks up to him and wants to be better than him one day

He could honestly care less at that point

Tendou

Tenor saxophone section leader

Best section leader anyone could ask for

Good at what he does

Fun

Nice

Helpful

Fucking loves playing “Careless Whisper” at fff near Semi

Always makes weird faces while playing it

1st chair in wind

Constantly is sending memes back and forth with Mattsun and Makki during class when he doesn’t have to play

Has like 15 squad shirts for some reason

So if an underclassmen ever needs one he pipes up with “I have an extra!” it might be big on them tho

Is like super chill about people having to not practice or even being late

Unless you show up like an hour late

Then he gets mad

And he makes you run 3 laps around the field

But anyway

He knows how to play EVERY SINGLE ANIME OPENING EVER

No one knows how

But if anyone ever wants any or any popular music he’s already got the score he wrote for it

Because this motherfucker of course has perfect and absolute pitch

He also gets bothered if someone is out of tune even by .2 cents

Hell he went bonkers after hearing Yahaba being 10 cents flat for more than half of the practice

The look on his face could be confused for murderous

Kept glaring at Yahaba and this cocky fuck only smirked at him

Hell Oikawa was getting concerned so he just made him run until he finally agreed to tune his instrument properly

Other than that he’s really sweet to everyone

He always makes sure his underclassmen are ok

Like if you trip while running and get injured he’s gonna carry you over to the Cripple Tent(™)

Even if you protest he’s gonna do it

Is the only person who can deal with first years who were stupid enough to drink milk before practice and then puke all over the field

Is always used as an example of someone who has perfect marching technique

Hell the coaches asked him to go around and help his peers perfect their technique as well

If you were someone who struggled with something and finally got it he would reward you with something small as a good job

Semi

Mellophone section leader

Is the strictest motherfucker you’ve ever seen

Like makes his whole section run before and after practice

Makes em run double before and after practice on top of extra laps should they fuck up

Doesn’t take any jokes

Seriously one time Goshiki made a joke about how mello mouth pieces don’t make as good kazoos as trumpet mouth pieces and holy fuck Semi just went into dictator mode and fucking yelled him that he needed to run a lap right at that second for being disrespectful

Other than business he’s kinda chill

People only like him on beach day and bus rides to comps or festivals

Everyone likes chill Semi

No one dares to make Semi mad when he is finally being chill

They just want that to last tbh

Shirabu

Assistant Mellophone section leader

Is calm and chill all the time

So imagine what it’s like when everyone is approaching Shirabu and not Semi for their inquiries about anything ranging from music to academics

He is always the guy to bring the drinks to brass parties

He also for some reason has a bunch of euph players who have adopted him as their newest resident introvert

Doesn’t really speak just does his stuff and hopes people will follow suit

Goshiki

Trumpet bby

Easy

He’s always trying to get praise from Ushijima and never does

Sometimes he just gets praise from Hinata and maybe Shirabu

He’s got a very friendly productive rivalry with Hinata so they both can get better

Hinata can hit an enormously high screamer note and have it sound good for some reason which Goshiki hopes to be able to beat but continues to faint when he tries

Always is boasting about how someday he’s gonna be trumpet section leader or brass captain

He once got praise from Atsumu and fucking fainted and fell backwards stiff as a board to the ground

Atsumu started doing it more often because of Goshiki’s reaction

He miraculously never got hurt from any of these incidents

INARIZAKI

Atsumu

Assistant trumpet section leader

Almost always gets screamer notes even if he didn’t ask for it

Brags to Osamu about it all the fucking time

They both fight all the fucking time on the field

It’s the only time they get to see Osamu lose his chill

These always end with both twins getting knocked out and someone needing to watch over their injured asses

Does not shut the fuck up at leader meetings about how strong and good his section is

He always gets sent out of the room by Daichi until he promises to shut up and only speak when asked a question

Always has guard girls dating him like a fucking revolving door (the only one he couldn’t get was Yachi 🙃)

Only likes helping the girl trumpets in hopes he gets a date

Will help Hinata only because the smol ginger grew on him and he’s genuinely impressed with Hinata’s screamer and overall progress

Always tries to joust using the plume on his head at shows

His jousting partner is almost always Nishinoya despite the height difference

Always throws the brass parties

Is the most wild one there no matter what the circumstances are

Doesn’t matter if ‘Samu is home he’s just gonna practice screamers or be extra loud during parties so he can’t practice

Osamu

Speaking of Osamu…

Flute section leader

2nd chair in wind

Is always very helpful in a straightforward way with stuff

Before football games he makes the whole section dinner complete with dessert

He makes some for Akaashi too because in his mind it’s “once a flute always a flute”

Like I’m talking individual packed meals that are warm, delicious, and personalized

He knows what people like because he asked everyone as kind of an icebreaker to help him get to know everyone a little bit

If a flute doesn’t show up to these bonding dinners but is nearby he will personally go and sit with them and make them eat as well as talk to him so they don’t feel awkward and aren’t starving themselves for any reason

Seriously if this dude finds out one of his sectionmates has an eating disorder you bet your ass he will personally spoon feed your food to you

And if you didn’t bring food and he finds out he’s giving you half of his enormous meal

And from that day on he brings those people nutritious meals that won’t make them self-conscious

If you don’t like being put on the spot during sectionals he won’t force you to play the part in questions for your peers

He’ll just pull you aside separately and turn around so you feel more comfortable playing the excerpt for him so he can see where you are in progress with the show music

Has the section do death block

Not for a super long time but he does it to help everyone get better

And if you don’t have a partner during death block he will personally be your partner

He also goes and checks on concert band students to make sure they are doing ok and sits with his sectionmates during school at lunch too

Good home boi

Always has section bonding activities that aren’t always band related

He likes also making care-packages for everyone before competitions and for holidays and birthdays too

Kita

Drum Major

Daichi’s right hand man to be more specific

Is first chair baritone in wind

He checks on every section including colorguard throughout the music block everyday

He does this just to check in and make sure they have a water break and likes watching people grow

Helps conduct if anyone needs it

The poor euphs always need it because both leaders can’t keep hand time for shit

Gives the best pep talks

Always helps mark the field

Stays until literally everyone finally goes home from practice

Kicks Oikawa out of the practice rooms frequently so they both can get some sleep

Checks in randomly with sections while on the field and talking with people

Suna

Battery captain

Plays quads

Is the smoothest chill motherfucker you’ll meet

Does his best to keep his morons in line and not cause too much trouble

Has blackmail on the twins going back several years up to that point

Constantly is correcting people’s stick positions

Doesn’t really go super above and beyond cause honestly he does not give a fuck

Shows his love and appreciation through sending memes

Never talks at meetings

Is very lax and laid back

Which makes people respect him and therefore try their best which ultimately leads them to being the best drumline in the country

Seriously he is like a magician

Took his shirt off at practice once to be a madlad and threw it at Terushima’s face

He did this while having the most indifferent and stoic facial expression known to man and that made Terushima shit his pants right then right there

Will not care if you’re late

Cares if you’re late and manage to suck

Then he finds his…special unconventional way of getting back at you

He sits on you and he won’t get up until you can do one push-up with him on you

He will make you do 50 sit-ups and count them while he tickles the ever loving shit out of you just straight faced

JOHZENJI

Terushima

Toms section leader

Has good stick tricks

Is chaotic as all fuck

Is scared of Suna and Suna only until he meets Iwa for the first time

Acts like an idiot during practice so Daichi makes him run to make him lose steam and be more calm

Yeah that's really it for him

ITACHIYAMA

Sakusa

Bass drum section leader

Makes everyone deep clean their drums as well as their sticks at least 3 times a week

Makes them wear masks on the bus to competitions and back

Be on time or so help him god you won’t feel your legs for a week you’ll end up running that much

Real stickler on grades too

Like bitch you better be getting a 3.0 or higher or he’s gonna kick your ass

Or get Suna to do it for him if he’s feeling lazy or he thinks you’re gross

Definitely do not want the latter

Gets along well with other leaders so long as it isn’t Atsumu and his constant boasting about his greatness or other shit

Decent leader though

Everyone in his section always is well behaved and is always perfectly in sync

Very lax and nice

Very lenient on a lot of stuff
