have 8, 9, 11, and 13 from the gw2 asks for whoever you most feel like talking about at the moment! :) @kerra-and-company
Ok I'll answer for the new characters Blaze and Boxx :)
8. How willing are they to bend/break the rules for their cause (be it selfless or otherwise)?
Blaze- VERY willing to break rules. Blaze doesn't respect any authority but their own moral code. Unless the rules are in place for a damn good reason like keeping people safe. But they're ONLY cooperating this time because it's the right thing to do. Otherwise they do what they want. Okay FINE they'll also listen to gunhilde when it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY... sometimes.... maybe...
Boxx- boxx is the complete opposite of Blaze. He LOVES rules and formality and etiquette and hierarchy so much. He enjoys systems to manipulate in his favor, social and intellectual traps to lure enemies into. That being said, he has no attachment to following the rules when bending or breaking them would benefit him. And when he does, he doesn't leave any witnesses
9. What's an au for them you think could be fun to explore?
Blaze- COMMANDER AU!!! Blaze was originally meant to be my canon commander before I came up with Cyll, but I felt like I didn't want to have the commander be someone in the metal warband. I still think of them as the commander sometimes out of habit though. Also they and trahearne would be so cute together 💕
Boxx- catholic pope au lmao
11. How accurate is their reputation/image compared to how they really are?
Blaze- about 50% accurate maybe? Their vocals and stage presence are so powerful and intense it's like they can control the very air pressure in a room with body language alone. Warriors who have faced powerful foes say Blaze was the first person to ever make them feel genuinely intimidated. A lot of people know them from seeing the band and think they're badass and kinda scary. But anyone who's met them or heard their normal speaking voice at all knows they're 100% so quiet and gentle and nice. An absolute sweetheart. (The part about the intimidation is based on an actual concert experience i had seeing beartooth once. Caleb stared down the crowd and then stomped, i don't want to say threateningly, but definitely powerfully, and I felt like all the breath was punched out of me from across the room. I was in awe. How did he do that)
Boxx- usually very inaccurate. This guy is straight up a cult leader, very good at maintaining a certain public image and controlling how other people see him. He promotes himself as a brilliant, if charmingly eccentric, scientist leading an innovative team of researchers to unlock the secrets of cubes. In reality he's manipulative, obsessive, and the experiments he runs are less actual science than just doing fucked up shit in a lab with no real hypothesis and interpreting the results through vague and broadly applicable yet profound-sounding language, similar to astrology
13. What is the worst/funniest/dumbest article that could be written about them in tyria's trashiest gossip mag?
Blaze- Metal Warband's Fire Breathing Vocalist Secret Revealed? Steal Their Trick In One Easy Step!
Tumblr media
Boxx- College of the Cube Councillor's Top Ten Sexiest Experiments Gone Wrong! How He Looks So Good While Being So Bad (featuring personally quiz to see if you're compatible!) *photoshopped image of boxx posing seductively in front of krewe members being killed horrifically by tortured mists cube entity escaping containment*

Beartooth songs they need to put in the set list:
1. Keep Your American Dream
One of the best songs on disgusting and one of the best songs ever made. Good for the mosh pit too. PLAY IT A MILLION TIMES FOREVER
2. Rock is Dead
Look, has it been in the set list before, for like basically forever? Yes. And they should PUT IT BACK. I need that drum solo
3. Believe
Listen i know it's not one that will get everyone jumping around and dancing but it's a really beautiful song and it makes me emotional and it's really good ok
4. Burnout
I LOVE it SO much. It was the first beartooth song I got obsessed with as a teenager and I would just play it over and over and over again for hours. I need to hear it live.
5. Manipulation
It's so so good when Caleb does the thing where he throws in that specific rock and roll sound he does sometimes. Usually it's a reference to AC/DC but in this case it's more like if you walked into a diner full of bikers it's what would be playing at the bar. He should do that more
6. Permanently Sealed
I love the drama of this one, it's like a movie soundtrack. You know will deely would do something cool with the guitar in this
7. Takeover
Severely underrated, very fun and danceable. More people would probably remember it if they saw it live at a show

#TheLastofUs and #TheMandalorian airing simultaneously. That’s gotta be quite the high for @pascalispunk. Last night’s episode of #tlou was my favorite yet. I’m surprised they packed so much story into one episode.
The songwriting of “Spaceships & Airplanes” is all over the place. A mishmash of song ideas with unfocused lyrics. The chord structures were inspired by blink-182 (@blink182), the melodies were inspired by Owl City (@owlcityofficial), and the song structure was inspired by I See Stars (@iseestarsmusic), my three favorite artists at the time.
I See Stars, a local Metro Detroit band who has done really well for themselves, abandoned traditional song structures (a staple of the #metalcore genre), which inspired me to do the same for “Jenny” and “Spaceships & Airplanes,” hence the absence of choruses, verses or bridges.
“Spaceships & Airplanes” was created using #GarageBand by Apple, which had three main benefits: 1) it was easy to record and manipulate audio files, 2) stellar collection of synthesizer sounds to choose from, and 3) they made it really easy to apply auto tune, which I wanted. This was around the time that T-Pain (@tpain) exploded in popularity, along with his style of auto tune (excerpts from post 1).
Two months must have been spent writing and recording ”Spaceships & Airplanes” using a microphone and audio interface borrowed from a scene friend, a lengthy timespan due to my inexperience with music production. Being a kid without a car, the equipment was carried on foot to my parents house a few miles away (excerpts from post 1).
I remember being sick while recording, which made it all the more difficult to land a good take. The frustration is burned into my memory.
For these early songs, plagued with bad production quality, a lofi amp plugin was used on a majority of the vocals, making it sound like I’m singing through a crappy radio transmission. The lofi amp plugin sounded good to me at the time because it cut out low frequencies and accentuated mid-high range frequencies. Those results could have been accomplished with EQ, which would have avoided the lofi sound, but I didn’t know that that was an option. Also wouldn’t learn about adding compression to vocals until song 9. (excerpts from post 1).
Girl pants, flat iron straightened #emo hair, gauges, screamo bands, necklaces, way too many bracelets. Stoney Creek #HighSchool friends and I were part of the American Midwest’s “scene subculture,” often labeled as “#scenekids,” which emerged from the pre-existing emo subculture. A subculture within a subculture (subcultureception). Basically emo, but our color scheme wasn’t limited to black. Some of the biggest artists to arise from this subtle counterculture subculture are We Came As Romans (@wecameasromans), Of Mice & Men (@omandm) and Beartooth (@beartoothband). This subculture consumed my life throughout the production of songs 1 - 4 (excerpt from post 1).
