thinking about your post on gushing over persona designs and also a reply youve left on one of my posts before... >:3c would you wanna talk about your thoughts on 3rd tier p5 personas because id love to hear em
I WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO SHARE MY THOUGHTS THANK YOU LEAF >:3c
OK so like disclaimer: I have yet to get to the third semester in Royal myself (I am playing through the game at a snail's pace 😭) so this is more like my thoughts based on a) just the designs in general, b) the designs in the context of the characters and c) what context I do have of the third semester (I know most of it but obvs it will be different once I actually play it). Oh and of course these are all my personal opinions so that's just something to keep in my mind!
For a more general overview of the personas, I actually think the design principle behind these personas slaps so hard. The way that each of them are in a sense, the real, true version of the original character of the initial designs is actually amazing and such a perfect final form for the thieves (considering their whole thing is ripping off their masks they wear in society blah blah blah). And also each of them try to incorporate a part of the character into the persona design (I'll explain that a bit in a minute) is really really cool. However, as with anything there are designs that nail these ideas and then there are some that for me miss it. Overall though, I think they are a solid set of personas and in general I would say I like them as a collective (not as much as the initial and they slightly lose out to the second tier designs but not by much).
Now for a more detailed persona by persona breakdown:
Raoul: Oh boy. Raoul. OK this is tricky for me. As like a design I think he slaps so hard. He looks sleek, cool and I love his head and wing design, I think they continue on from Arsene's monster gentleman look well and bring a more modern vibe to the persona (which a lot of these personas seem to do). And I think its a fitting design for Joker (purely from an aesthetic point of view, I find it hard to comment on it from the point of "does this fit Joker's personality" because that's really down to player interpretation). But hoo boy. There's two major issues with him for me.
Obvious one is that he's a DLC Persona. Instant loss for me. It adds no sentimental factor to him as a Persona (i.e. no awakening scene), all you do is just pay however much it is for him and then bam you have a cool Persona. That was a huge missed opportunity on Atlus' part. However, this brings me into my second issue, is that even if he did have an awakening scene there is no way it would ever top Satanael. Like Satanael is such an underrated persona for me, its a shame he's underutilized in the games too, because like wow that awakening scene. Is there any bigger fuck you to a god then summoning the devil through the power of friendship and humanity's hope to shoot him in the face. Unparalleled. But back to Raoul I just don't think he tops Satanael and he's stuck in DLC which lessens his impact/importance for me even though he's probably one of my favorites design wise.
Diego: I actually really really like him. I don't know why but I appreciate the swagger this Persona has. I think what Diego does best is really capture Morgana as a character. He's cocky, confident, considers himself as a bit of a ladies man (Diego looks like a playboy sorry) and successfully brings a modern twist to Zorro (and you know fits the whole this is Zorro unmasked because well it is literally Zorro unmasked). I can see why the design wouldn't appeal to some people because admittedly it is a bit boring but all in all I think its a solid look.
William: Yeah William slaps. He's a great design. I really enjoy how he's a more punk (might not be the right word but that's the best I can think of rn), cool, sleek version of Captain Kidd. I think he really fits Ryuji in the sense that it actually looks like something Ryuji would wear lol. It fits as well with the whole "Ryuji embracing his role as the delinquent" and again as is with a lot of these designs, brings a modern twist to it. This doesn't really mean much but I really like the sleek boat that he rides on. It just looks cool and honestly that's how I feel about William. He just looks really cool and very Ryuji.
Celestine: My Ann bias might come through here but oh boy do I adore this design. I think out of all of them, this is the one that executes the third tier design principles the best. First: it's a really cool upgrade for Carmen, and it really looks like it was made for Ann. Like the confidence the swagger and yes there is the whole sexy dominatrix thing going on with her but to me it feels like this is much better executed. The men at the end of her pigtails is to be quite honest a really neat design and a nice continuation of the elements we see in the previous personas. Which brings me to my next point: this is one of the two best examples of another aspect of the third tier personas: the fact that they are shown to be a fusion of sorts between the previous two personas. I don't think the ones I've mentioned so far execute this as well as Celestine and one other I'll get to later do. The combination of the Hecate color palette and Carmen's features plus the elements of Ann herself (Celestine is very fashion model to me) is done so well that I actually think it's probably the best designed of all of them.
Gorokichi: Oh Gorokichi. I have seen two opinions on this persona: people either love him or they hate him. I am very much in the later camp. I really hate this design NOT because of the actual design itself but more so the design in context. Look on its own I love how flamboyant it is. The pink fur coat, the ridiculous heels, that Groose looking hair style it's honestly really fun and different. It looks like something out of Zoolander. This all being said, in context... no. Look Yusuke is a flamboyant character. He's an artist he's passionate we know this. But this persona is far too gaudy for him. Gorokichi looks extremely materialistic and honestly way too tacky for Yusuke. Idk I'm sure other Yusuke fans feel differently but for me I just think it's probably the most out of character of all the personas in terms of how the designs relate to the character. There's something about it that just doesn't sit right with me 🤷‍♂️ I will say though I think it does an OK job at being a fusion of Susanoo (who is by FAR the better design btw) and Goemon. Again all of that is just my personal opinion but I think this is probably the weakest of the third tier personas.
Agnes: OK after writing like essays for the others I'll be honest I don't have much to say about Agnes. Like it looks cool af it's a batmobile ass looking motorbike and I think it fits Makoto I just... don't have much else to say. I don't really understand the color scheme for this one I'll be honest considering that up until now Makoto's personas have primarily been blue so this black and gold combo kinda comes outta nowhere, but it's fine. It's just missing something for me.
Al Azif: Star Destroyer. OK but in all seriousness I like the design. Again not much to say, the sleek technology + hacker vibes obviously fit Futaba very well and all in all I like it. Like Agnes it's just kinda there for me. I will say though it does feel like a Pokemon evolution more than a fusion between the previous two. Like the Salamence line (creature -> ball -> powerful creature). Does this mean anything.
Lucy: OK I promise I'm not running out of steam or anything but again, Lucy is kinda just there for me. I've honestly been sitting here looking at it like "it looks cool. It looks like an upgraded Miladay. It's cool. Why a spy I don't know but its cool". And that about sums it up to be honest. I get that the figure she is based off of was a spy but like why a spy for Haru. Was this just a case of them going "well it looks kinda like a modern business woman and looks like a spy which is what Lucy is based on so a spy it is". Is that what's happening here.
Hereward: And here he is the main man himself. By FAR my favorite third tier Persona. Sorry Celestine I love you but have you seen this man. This Persona design hits the nail on the head. Is it a good representation of how Akechi has changed as a character? Yes absolutely (dark hero vibes). Is it a good combination of the previous two Personas? Without a shadow of a doubt knocks it outta the park. Does it fit with the initial Persona unmasked theme? Yes yes it does. I also wanna mention that I like the idea that Akechi awoke to Loki and Robin Hood at the same time (full credit for that idea goes to whoever drew that phenomenal artwork I am so sorry I can't remember their url) and Hereward being a really good combination of both of them leans into that idea nicely (that's more a coincidence tbh cause I don't think it's explicitly stated which one came first). Also this quote from the wiki really sums up how good I think Hereward's design is:
"In a similar vein to how Robin Hood's design was largely inspired by comic book hero Superman, Hereward's design may have been inspired by Batman, hence the black armor and the bat wing-like protrusions on the back of his head. This may be an allusion to Akechi's role in the third semester, symbolizing his transformation from a seemingly-altruistic hero to a feared warrior seeking to see through his own personal justice. It also can be seen as a visual combination of Robin Hood and Loki, incorporating the bow and weapon of the former and the dark aesthetics of the latter."
Ella: um. Yeah I gotta be honest on this one, I don't feel... qualified? enough to give my thoughts on her because I feel like I haven't fully grasped Sumire as a character. I think the whole Cinderella persona thing she has gong on is great and it fits what I understand of her story but as for Ella's design. Why a wedding dress. Like why. It looks appealing but like??? I don't know tbh 💀💀
And yeah that about sums up all my thoughts. I will say that like I feel my thoughts will change once I get the full story of the third semester because already I feel like a lot of these designs are missing (or I'm missing the context) some connection to the actual story of the third semester. Like these personas are supposed to represent the sort of wrapping up of the thieves character arcs and I feel like that aspect is, while the idea of the personas being based off of their original personas leans into this, ultimately underused. I don't know maybe my thoughts will change once I play it properly. Uh hope you had fun reading this because I've been typing for like an hour no joke 💀😭

Hope you don't mind me spamming you a bit. I appreciate your reviews and commentary! Other movies that came to mind which I enjoyed were Ready Or Not, The Invitation, Don't Breathe, Black Christmas, Last Night inSoho (technically this is a horror movie). And because it's popular, what are your thoughts on A Quiet Place?
I don't mind one bit. These are fun questions, especially this one. Buckle up lmaoooo.
Ready or Not - I liked it, and it inspired the wedding dress in one of my darker stories.
The Invitation - Hell yes, love a dark dinner party movie. Won't spoil why.
Don't Breathe - Loved. So depraved. If you haven't seen it I won't spoil, but holy shit lol. Kink alert.
Black Christmas - Yes! Prefer the original by a mile, but enjoyed the Blumhouse take too.
Last Night in Soho - Need to see this, it's on my list.
A Quiet Place - Okay. . .Just my passionate opinion: I fear there is no movie I despise more. My disdain is well-known among friends. I'm about to go off.
Krasinski referring to his film as "elevated horror" put him on my bad side from the start. Really low to put down others to promote himself. Dismissing an entire diverse genre, disrespecting everyone who paved the way.
Krasinski gets (takes) far too much credit for things that have been done and done better, including the climax which mirrors The Descent Part 2, shot-for-shot. Don't Breathe is another example of the have-to-be-quiet premise.
Huge hit among non-horror fans who didn't know better and raved about its originality. Meanwhile gushing, "I'm not even into horror." Soo maybe they hadn't seen much? Especially lesser known movies. The horror tent is big enough for all, but he brought new fans into it while infusing them with his condescending attitude.
Far too many gratuitous close-ups of himself going 🤫. This man's ego, stg.
Some of us detected a strong whiff of right-wing energy. Pro-life in a risk everyone's lives for a fetus way. Pro-gun in a rural, white, get off my land way (btw I'm obsessed with John Wick. it's not the use of guns in this, it's the energy).
He bragged about how his wife was so unaffected by her most intense scene (childbirth) that after it she said, "Who's ready for lunch?" Why is that so good, John? Is your view as a director that actors should snap in and out of character and not be affected by their roles? If she needed to cry or rest, would he think less of her? Personally I admire people who feel. Also, harder to imagine paying a man the same compliment.
I have one nice thing to say, which is that it's nice to see deaf/hard-of-hearing representation, and it was the least they could do good to cast an actress from the community as his daughter.👍
If they committed to total silence instead of using a dramatic score, that would've been cool.
You can do your own take on an old concept and make it good. But to meanwhile put down everything else to distinguish/promote himself?? That ain't it.
Anyway, I still hate-watched the sequel (not nearly as bad) and may do the same with the prequel 🤪.

Doing the Leatherworker job quests, have reached the ones where you create taxidermy to educate people about animals and conservation, and once again losing my mind at how much abuse of power and lack of structure there is in Gridania's government
Marmaduke: Outrageous! How dare this happen without my consent! Marmaduke: So this is why everyone has been crowding about the Leatherworkers' Guild of late. What sort of sick, twisted joke is this? Enion: That's one of the Hearers! What does he want with us? Atelloune: I assure you sir, this is no joke. This mount was fashioned in an attempt to pre─ Marmaduke: The elementals weep for this poor creature! How they cry out in anger! Wood Wailer Escort: An affront to the Twelveswood if ever there was! To ignore it is to invite the greenwrath upon us all! Marmaduke: You three. Are you responsible for this!? By order of the Conjurers' Guild, I demand you to take down this grotesquerie at once! Enion: Take it down? But, all of our hard work… Enion: What should we do, Nahte'to? Atelloune: Ugh! The nerve of that man. It took every onze of my being to hold my tongue. Atelloune: That close-minded fool! How can he not see the benefits of our work, the opportunity we offer Gridanians to learn about animals that live beyond the borders of the Twelveswood? And he dares to call himself a Hearer. Atelloune: How he abuses his position that he might do as he pleases. The sight of him is enough to make my skin crawl.
Like it's not even subtle. They're not even trying to hide it. They're not even afraid of getting in trouble for abusing their authority. And apparently no other authorities inclined to step in and correct him:
Atelloune: Oh, Number Seventy-Two. If only you had come sooner. I left only for a moment, but in my absence Marmaduke and his gaggle of goons made off with our mount! [...] Atelloune: Before our work was stolen, I took it upon myself to speak with an associate of mine─another Hearer of the Conjurers' Guild. When I broached the subject of our mount and the elementals' apparent dissatisfaction with using animal skins in such a fashion, he was completely and utterly bewildered. Atelloune: In truth, neither the Hearers of the Conjurers' Guild nor the Seedseers have expressed any opposition to our work. Marmaduke merely uses the elementals as an excuse to impose his ideals on others. Atelloune: Well, he is not the only one with influence here in Gridania.
Atelloune: I have exhausted every resource at my disposal, but I could find neither hide nor hair of the dhalmel mount.
For a country so in tune with nature and so desperate to live sustainably it's also baffling to me that they hated leather in the first place. Leather made well and taken care of lasts a long time, it's durable and has overall less impact on the natural world than like. Stripping down forest to grow monoculture cotton, or something
Geva: Did they now? You know, there was a time when leather goods were criticized as being extravagant and wasteful. It took a great deal of effort on the part of the leatherworkers here, but eventually opinions changed. Geva: They had to prove what they made was worth the cost of lives sacrificed in the process.
It's just all so hypocritical and holier-than-thou. I absolutely stand by the headcanon that Gridania is its own worst enemy and it's their bickering that causes problems with the elementals more often than anything else.
I did the Bard quests yesterday which also stripped me of any confidence in the twin adders organization at least pre-Endwalker lmaoooo

Ok so, I dunno if the unpopular opinion tweet I remember seeing was from you or someone else but it said something about how Harada's bootlickers and he himself don't take criticism lightly, even constructive ones, and how said bootlickers seem to really put Harada on high regard thinking he's perfect or something. Mind if you share some thoughts on this?
tbh i say this stuff all the time on both lmaoooo, even said it here, but yea ill say it here again, harada doesnt care about the characters, or is a "troll" as people say, but he sucks at it, you can ask about your fave character towards him and he would go "he doesnt wipe his ass" or something like that, sometimes he confuses his own canon with other shit, changes his mind too, i rather dont ask him about my faves ever, i only wanna know who dragunovs new VA is, but i dont ask him about other trivia
he also "cares" so much about authenticity, azu having a peruvian VA, leroy being voiced by a black man, but the ravens are voiced by white people?
mans pretend to not know that lili is 16 and poses with a lili cosplayer as if he is some kinda sugar daddy, i dont even know, i have a HUGE hate love relationship with tekken, i can appreciate some stuff but the bad, is really bad, sexism and "jokes" of poor taste in the endings, god end my suffering

*bursts into your inbox and chooses violence* fandom/fanfic asks 15: Fandom you find annoying and 22: Least favorite fic trope
Vodka woke up and said "Let's get Crow cancelled today" lmaoooo. No, thank you, I'm a shady bitch and we all know it. 15. Fandom you find annoying I'm sorry folks, it really does either have to be ST or OFMD. It's really a chicken or the egg situation for both of them, like did I not enjoy them first and then they both became inescapably popular which only fueled my preexisting dislike or did they become huge and taint a formerly neutral opinion? I think with the latter it's probably deeply fueled by personally spite since I find Black Sails to be the first and wildly better gay pirate show and I just kind of thought OFMD was... underwhelming in comparison. The former I actually liked for a season or two and then they just decided to have essentially the same plot beats for four seasons and I was like "wow this is boring!" I tend to just really dislike stuff centering on high school aged shenanigans as is, and then I was subjected to insane and rancid discourse on my dash every day once S4 came out and I was done lol. Of course if you are reading this and thinking "Crow must personally hate ME" then I encourage you to go outside and take some long breaths because it's literally not that deep and people can find your interests irritating without it having anything to do with you. People should do what makes them happy and I have both the tags/popular ship names blocked as best I can. Don't let my cranky ass stop you. 22. Least favorite fic trope Misogynist portrayals of women in m/m pairing fics! What the hell and fuck!!! It's always written off/defended by the worst people as somehow just not big of a deal because the female character is obviously a terrible person in canon (she is almost always at worst on par with the fan favorite male characters) or you'll get attacked for pointing it out because they just want "representation" and obviously you are a nasty heterosexual for simply pointing out that there are better ways to make your pairing happen than demonizing/killing off/torturing female characters. (For the love of God!!! Polyamory!!! For a start!!!) Look, I know these are fake people and they don't need to be defended and what someone writes is not necessarily what they condone IRL but some stuff just reeks of deep rooted issues and if your reaction to being questioned on it is to start hurling serious accusations and insults.... idk man it's not a good look! Can you tell I have been on the receiving end of this discourse a few too many times lmao.

I saw the words If, Joffrey and Girl, in your previous ask and immidietly thought of And bless the daughter but fuck the family by dwellingondreams on ao32 that I read recently. And it was CRAZY GOOD??! The Joanna-Cersei interactions goes so hard. Especially with the whole younger more beautiful queen thing taking all she holds dear thing I just know internally Cersei’s probaly like ‘That’s Oomf but I low-key hate her 😭😭’
And I have yet to find a good genderbend Jon fic myself 1) Most of them are not my taste writing wise and 2) Those that I think ARE well written have Jon like you said act like a feisty she-dragon-wolf hot maiden who is hot or she’s just an object of desires for the men around her and by around her I mean any living man in Planetos ( i once remember reading a story where 14 years old girl!Jon was getting married to Oberyn and girl!Jon was thinking about how she didn’t need to shave because she had found or made a salve that dissolved all her body hair?? FORVER!!! and I was like ???? Then I continued reading of course ) And I have nothing against exploring incest in fiction ESPECIALLY in asoiaf like bear found on bear island…. But the girl!Jon/Robb thing doesn’t really hit because I think gay incest will always be better than straight incest,,,,Exemples : Aegon and Orys. Aenys and Maegor. Aemon and Baelon. Rhaena and Baela. The maiden vault girlies during the later years #keepingitlegal. Aemon The Dragonknight and Aeg-[GUNSHOT]. Umm what was i talking about again??
I totally agree that for a genderbend to stick the character should still have at least trace of what their original gender counterpart has like why is Fem!Jon not sulking , throwing little tantrums, being conflicted and feeling guilty every waking hour of the day :( like please make her a little bit emo please please please-
For ME! for a genderbend story to HIT, the character getting bended must have a 1) An Interesting and Very Fucked connection to BOTH parents that the gender thing can only worsen and 2) Also a Also Very Fucked Not Good Kinda Bad What’s Wrong With You relation to their gender and patriarchal norms in Westeros. Again, it’s asoiaf so it doesn’t really narrow it down that much( Mommy/ Daddy issues + not seeing women as people? That’s every bitch like ??) but I’m going on the basis that u understand my vision of like : Jon = decent/good. Theon,Joffrey,Maegor = GO CRAZY GO STUPID€/&/@1@
(Also genderbends only work on way for me because why would I turn a woman 🥰 into a man 😐)
Just read "And bless the daughter but fuck the family" and uhhh... 😵‍💫 Okay okay okay. Perfectly insane genderbend. Give it a read, y'all (and tbh all of dwellordreams' fics go crazy, so check 'em out!)
Warning: mean opinions incoming. I'm a nice person usually I swear, I just also enjoy hating sometimes. Firstly, I agree that most Jon genderbends blow ass. Oftentimes, "Jon" just seems like a female author self-insert for someone who thinks Sansa is too girly/lame. Which I wouldn't generally have a problem with (we're all just here for a good time, and one man's unbearable cringe is another man's life-changing magnum opus), but it makes it hard to find genderbends that do interesting things with the actual character, rather than just inventing a female OC and calling it Jon.
"i once remember reading a story where 14 years old girl!Jon was getting married to Oberyn and girl!Jon was thinking about how she didn’t need to shave because she had found or made a salve that dissolved all her body hair?? FORVER!!! and I was like ????"
Oh my god lmaoooo. Beyond the ridiculousness of that, modern values in ASOIAF fics is more than a pet peeve to me, it's like a... man-eating tiger peeve. For instance, I quite like "Adjust For The Wind", as it's what inspired me to write Sow the Tide, but it also has a bizarre bit about women shaving their legs & genitals. Like:
Southern ladies are expected to remove all hair from between their legs.
&
“If you decide to groom between your legs using a razor or a knife, practice on your legs first. You can also use walnut oil, or bandages soaked in ammonia in a pinch.” Theon frowned. “I… see,” he parroted Mordane’s words. “And what do I use to keep myself clean… um, down there?”
Like literally what the fuck are you talking about lmao. To say that this took me out of the fic would be an understatement. I was so bothered by this that I tried to find actual published sources, but there didn't seem to be any particularly strong answers (besides that shaved genitals were more common among prostitutes). Also, for anyone reading, you do NOT need to clean inside your vagina, and your vulva (outside your vagina) should only be cleaned with warm water and a gentle soap if necessary. A strange place for me to make this point, but I'm making it.
I also tried a Jon genderbend fic recently, except fem!Jon had purple eyes and didn't look like Ned at all??? Despite that being a critical aspect of Jon's appearance??? I was just so completely flabbergasted because this author changed almost everything about Jon's appearance and personality, but somehow it's still supposedly Jon??? Like that's literally just an OC. Worse, of all things to keep, they stuck with Jon's canon age of 14 in a fic based around a romance with a 22-year-old man (Willas Tyrell). Maybe it's just because I'm 22 myself, but my immediate reaction was literally: "hm. I think Willas should be beaten to death." Like the fic itself felt tantamount to character assassination of Willas 😭 I was even bitching about this (wildly popular) fic on Discord:
Tumblr media
I just hope to god the fic writer was a teenager, otherwise it seems like they just took GRRM's creepy handling of young characters like Dany at face value. Westeros obviously has different values, but it's concerning when the author themself seems to buy into those pedophilic standards.
GAY INCEST WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN STRAIGHT INCEST!!!!!!!!! 🗣️
lmaooooo. Also: "genderbends only work on way for me because why would I turn a woman 🥰 into a man 😐" <- REAL SHIT!!!!!!! You had me cracking up with that one.
Also also: "Aemon The Dragonknight and Aegon" SAY THAT!!!!!!!
Seriously. Let fem!Jon be a sulky, prickly, angry, kind, self-important little emo. Let fem!Theon be an ambitious, vain, insecure, proud, also self-important little bitch. A complicated relationship with one's parents is a plus, and a complicated relationship with Gender is a MUST! Bonus points if they're a crazy bitch in canon (Theon, Joffrey, Maegor, as you point out)!!! I've currently been thinking about fem!Maegor ngl... 👀
Anyway, thank you for dropping in. I'm probably gonna end up making a fun haterism server with goddcoward and some other homies, in addition to the more chill Quen sever. If that comes to fruition, join us in the silly complaint circle!

morbidly obese person here to say you're being a dumbass, a small business charging 20 bucks more for a knit sweater does not oppress me, please engage with actual issues surrounding fatness and not this lmaoooo
hold on i love breaking down anons like these let's go line by line
"morbidly obese person here" - lmao. lmfao even. on anon but desperate to feel/look like you have inherent authority on the topic via your identity. put your face to your opinion if you believe it
"you're being a dumb-ass" - could've just sent this alone to get your point across, I don't get this whole posturing like you have an argument to make when you just wanted to insult me lol
"does not oppress me" - yeah man i agree and that's what makes this particularly funny of you to send because i sure as shit didn't say anything about oppression or whatever the fuck in fact i think you'll find i directly made fun of it being framed as a "moral" issue when I said #''morally justifiable'' this poll blog is so funny it's just hyperconscious awkwards trying to win their internet debates via poll so idk who the fuck you're even talking to actually? considering my response was that no you should charge more for everything so people wont notice how much more they're paying for the biggest sizes lol
"please engage with actual issues surrounding fatnesss and not this" - my whole life is "engaging with issues surrounding fatness" dipshit im fat
anyways that was fun sorry i didnt have a snappy reply for everyone to laugh at i find it more interesting to dissect anon hate with a red pen especially when they're making up something to be pressed over

i’m sorry but the syd and richie shipping is kinda wild to me lmaoooo. folks are literally searching high and low for a white man to ship her with instead of marcus who is right there. also with sydcarmy, i just fear that the nuances of their connection will get lost if the writers give them a romantic lens. i feel like with romantic relationship on tv it’s easier to end up muddling characters down over time/losing the sharpness of the original dynamic. idk if that makes sense
folks are literally searching high and low for a white man to ship her with instead of marcus who is right there.
this, one hundred percent. when i was going through the tags answering the previous asks, i was getting increasingly more annoyed by the amount of richie/syd things i was seeing but no sydmarcus whatsoever and then on twitter people were saying that they weren't shipping sydmarcus because marcus already had a boyfriend with luca (will poulter) and i was like literally nothing, NOTHING about that dynamic was romantic, just say you hate Black relationships and go.
i feel like with romantic relationship on tv it’s easier to end up muddling characters down over time/losing the sharpness of the original dynamic. idk if that makes sense
i get what you're saying ... to me ... they're like brienne and jaime. i didn't ship them romantically, which was/is a super unpopular opinion, i understood why people did, but i didn't think they worked in a romantic context, i thought they worked in a deeply intimate, affectionate, suspended between being romantic and platonic context. i definitely have way more confidence in the writing for the bear to believe that if they did go the romantic sydcarmy route they'd find new nuances and complexities to explore but i definitely we'd be losing something too.

My ex used to wear black and white tank tops and I HATED THEM SO FUCKING MUCH and I was always telling him not to wear them around me and seeing Matty wearing them made me realise that I don't hate them, my ex just couldn't pull them off and although I have a 1000 reasons to be petty, I'm feeling bad 💀
Lmaoooo VALIDDDD. do NOT feel bad. Straight men (if he is straight) need humbling. He’s just a man. Hit him with your car. Or at least tell him he’s ugly in tank tops!
Also, it might just be that your original opinion was correct and tank tops usually suck it’s just a hat Matty makes it work somehow. Like any other man wearing flannels I’d walk away. Matty? I’m ON MY FUCKIN KNEES.

I’m out here getting pressed for no good reason @ marauders stans
Okay it’s for a good reason their caption was literally just “snape slander” but it feels silly, cue some incoherent rambling below: (I am DEFINITELY about to start my period)
Their post went something like, “when you’re talking to a Harry Potter fan and they’re an ‘always’ fan and you’re a ‘moony’ fan”
Like cool whatever bestie stan Remus! I don’t care, he’s the least gross out of all the marauders!! Hell, I don’t even dislike him that much though my opinion on Remus isn’t really what matters here
But like
I know it’s easy to chalk Severus up to that creepy guy who joined up with the wizard nazis and was hopelessly in love with his childhood best friend, because I was totally in that same boat for a while though I only held those beliefs to impress my crush at the time LMAOOOO
That’s not important rn though
- He joined up with the “wizard nazis” because they were a cult and he was indoctrinated into said cult. He was groomed into feeling like he didn’t belong anywhere else. He may have done this in a misguided attempt to impress Lily as well, but that doesn’t negate the grooming, conditioning, and indoctrination. Those words are all a bit interchangeable, but my point still stands.
- Yes, Severus was canonically in love with Lily for years, but he was never gross or creepy towards her?
- There is the whole ‘mudblood’ incident, which was obviously out of pocket. The subtext there reads that Severus, in total fear for what James was going to do to Lily (I’ll come up with receipts later if need be, but James was literally blackmailing Lily into dating him there) was trying to push her away from him and make it seem to James that they weren’t friends and that he should leave her alone. This was once again very misguided, as is a common theme in Severus’ early life, and it resulted in the usage of a slur, but if you learn to read between the lines there were pure intentions there however nasty his words were. (For the record I don’t ship Snily)
- Also, technically speaking, Severus can reclaim that slur but uh, that’s not exactly my place to speak on (grammar is hard you know what I mean)
- Severus Snape is not a perfect angel who’s done no wrong. He’s killed and tortured in the name of a blood supremacy cult, for one. But he’s not fucking Voldemort either. Not only did he realize the error of his ways and change himself for the better (even if he was only holding up his end of a bargain for a while,) but he watched over and protected Harry very markedly. There’s obviously more but I’m not gonna talk about stuff I don’t have receipts for.
I’m not trying to convince people not to hate him because at the end of the day that’s your call! He’s literally not real!! He’s just some ink on a page, pixels on a screen, or an image in your head. He doesn’t care if you hate him or not, he can’t. He’s not capable of that. I guess I’m just kind of defending him to this person I’ll never speak to.
Hormones man, they make you do things

Thanks for tagging me @wispstalk!
Relationship Status: in one and very content :)
Favorite Color(s): dark greens and dusty pinks and p much any earth tone.
Favorite Food: My mom’s pozole rojo. She makes it for Christmas every year and it rejuvenates my ragged, withered soul.
Song Stuck in My Head: Pull up the Roots by the Talking Heads. Played randomly while listening to Spotify one day, and I’ve been listening to it every morning while getting ready for like a week.
Last thing you Googled: plastic histology block gets stuck on knife
Time: 1:48
Dream Trip: Man there are so many places I’d love to visit. Off the top of my head, southern Europe, specifically Portugal cause I want to practice the language, but I’d love to see more of the Mediterranean, drink a lot of wine, eat very late dinners. Have an olive or two.
Last Thing You Read: “Problems in Histopathological Technique” (histology will be the death of me lmaoooo. Too bad I need it for 2 out of 4 of my dissertation chapters 😩)
Last Book You Enjoyed Reading: I’m currently in the middle of... maybe five books (i have promble) and too busy to finish even one 😭 The last novel I read was Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. I finished reading through her entire bibliography this summer. On her wikipedia page, she is quoted saying, “I particularly mourn the lack of female villains – good, potent female villains,” and when I read that, I was like “gorl, you so damn right.” Big fan.
Favorite Thing to Cook/Bake: Now that it’s the fall, it’s gotta be this Stardew Valley inspired dish I call “Roots Platter.” Just a bunch or roasted root veggies thrown together and served with some sautéed kale. +100 health.
Favorite Craft to do in Your Freetime: idk if this is a craft, but I’ve recently taken up drawing again and working with oil pastels. I was heavily inspired by all the lovely artwork done by @katastronoot. I’m very bad at it lol, but it’s so much fun!
Most Niche Dislike: Pants. I hate pants. I like them on other people, but I can’t stand wearing them.
Opinion on Circuses: Never been to one, and I do not intend to go. Especially if there are clowns or large animals doing tricks for entertainment (which I feel like should be illegal?? Has that happened yet, idk).
Do You Have Any Sense of Direction: Ehhh, no. I can get where I need to go, but I’m awful at navigating while riding shotgun on road trips. I’m always late on calling out the turns, and if anyone asks me for directions on the street, I panic, wave my hands wildly, and somehow forget the word “right” and “left.”

I mean this in a nice way because I love your writing but you defending Sirius and saying that he would have cared about Reg is kinda a relief to me because I got the sense from most of your works that you don’t like him at all 😭
Man.
So this is the thing; I write pretty exclusively from Regulus' POV. I have been known now and again to dip into others - Would You Come Be My Downfall is I think exclusively Remus POV - but Reg is where I'm most comfortable. And when I write Regulus, and specifically his feelings toward Sirius, they're always... Complicated.
A lot of my fic kicks off pretty soon after Sirius leaves home. When I write it, I almost always interpret it as 'Sirius leaves in the middle of the night without looking back, and Regulus watches him never look back from the back garden as he does', and from a Regulus POV obviously there's going to be some assumptions drawn from that. But I have two points.
One) In my interpretation, Regulus is never mad at Sirius for running away. For getting out. He knows the situation they're in - and believes firmly that it is not one Sirius is capable of surviving - and he is, if anything, relieved that Sirius gets somewhere safe. His hurt is over being left behind. And he knows Sirius had to; but feelings don't abide by logic, and when we're in Reggie's head he struggles to put down being hurt, as we all would.
Two) Sirius doesn't look back because he knows if he did, he'd stay; and if he stayed, he'd get himself or Regulus hurt worse or even killed. I'm not in the business of blaming victims of abuse for the abuse they suffer, but being a victim of it can really fuck up how you see things; and with Sirius I tend to headcanon that he blames himself for a lot of what they go through. Regulus also blames himself, but Sirius, who is opinionated and argumentative and cannot stay quiet in the face of something he perceives to be wrong, absolutely shoulders so much of that weight. So he can't look back. Because if he does, if he locks eyes with the little brother he knows followed him out, the way he's always followed him, he will stay. And that would only be bad for them both.
I love Sirius. He's one of my favourite characters from canon, I devour fic for him, and I truly love him.
But when writing from the POV of the hurt little brother he had to leave behind it can struggle to come across that way. Because sibling relationships can be so complicated; and as much as you love your sibling, at the same time you really can convince yourself that you hate them.
Anyway what I'm taking from this is that I should play with writing some Sirius-centric fic lmaoooo gotta fight these rumours

owe a dance: 5/5 she said this one was sweet because it had no cussin in it
off the table: (no rating) someone should’ve called the police because why is this young man being nasty in a golden corral. she also read some of the manga with me so she was confused why nanami was there 😭
sugarstream: she said gojo was terrifying in this one but she loves my writing LMAOOOO

asjfkld your tim feelings are so relatable it truly is the "i dont like fanon tim drake" -> "i dont really like his character very much actually"-> "everytime he shows up i sigh and groan until he leaves" pipeline.
granted for me i think the hate is exacerbated by fandom and editorial but when ive seen multiple "jason would be an incel" takes by tim enjoyers despite tim cheating on every girl hes dated and being rude to like every woman he works with, i cant help it
EXACTLY i know for a fact that if u look at my posts from like a year ago i made/reblogged plenty of pro-tim posts. fast forward to now and ive been complaining about him for like 2 straight hours fhdkasfhakjf when i first started getting into comics i didnt mind fanon tim, then i learned more about canon tim and started hating fanon tim, then i learned even more about canon tim and started hating canon tim too lmaoooo
i completely agree that a lot of my own hate stems from other peoples opinions of him tbh. a lot of tim fans will dumb down the other robins to make tim seem smarter and cooler when really hes kind of. at the same level as all of them. don't get me wrong i do think that tim is smart but some people take it to the level of "hes so smart that everyone turns to him for guidance when they need someone for computers or detective work :0" like??? everyone in the batfamily was trained by batman to be a detective i promise they don't need tims help. im tired of seeing people that are like "dick calls tim every time something goes wrong with his computer because tim would know how to do it 😳🤣" bc??? dick is a full grown man that has led multiple teams and been a vigilante for years i don't think he needs tims help with anything
i don't think ive seen the jason incel thing tbh but about tim and the women he works with!! one thing that bothers me is that a lot of writers will want to make tim seem Desirable so they have girls like... throw themselves onto him. like cissie said she had a crush on tim in young justice but like. its never shown except for one time she kisses him???? and then greta also likes him and literally tries to kill steph because shes dating him,,,,, like. why r we doing this. and don't even get me fucking started on the part in teen titans where rose gets drunk and tries to fuck him ????????? literally why.
i don't think that tim is rude to EVERY woman he works with (and like i said before a lot of that is just his writers being sexist and not really about tim) but theres def a pattern. like just off the top of my head theres the time that cass wore barbara's costume for a night and tim was like "whoa batgirl 😯 you look so hot 😏" then there was the time that he acted like cassie was being selfish for breaking up with him and when he was constantly rude to rose because of what she did while she was being drugged and manipulated
but yeah. sorry tim fans but i cant get over some of his weird shit

HIMB JKDGGJLDJGAGJKDGKJD
Tumblr media
Sexuality Headcanon: im mostly vague about it, in the canon he seems very aroace but in my canon he just likes jane :3
Gender Headcanon: cis
A ship I have with said character: sergei/jane its been almost 10 years and i still cant shut up about them LMAOOOO
A BROTP I have with said character: sergei and jack, it was KINDA hinted in the TTT2 relationship chart also that sergei likes him, the only person ever, so that makes it better (yes i will never not mention it)
A NOTP I have with said character: anything, just anything, but the biggest red flags are sergei/bryan and sergei/alisa, still popular ships for some reason
A random headcanon: he has a antique weapon collection in his home that he likes to show jane sometimes
General Opinion over said character: i love he so much what the fuck, what the fuck, i love everything kglKLGDGLKJFJ
FUCK the storyline, i hate the ravens, we never talk about it here, im just negative about it

Roman Roy
Sexuality Headcanon: Oh MAN. Definitely mlm, though I think I flip-flop on bi or gay. And I also like to think sex-indifferent asexual. Like I think the dude has slept with people, but I think much like a lot of what Roman does, it’s because he’s following a role on how he thinks he needs to act
Gender Headcanon: N/A
A ship I have with said character: Roman x Not Listening to Logan lmao
A BROTP I have with said character: Him and his siblings!!! I love him with Shiv, Con, and Kendall in different ways
A NOTP I have with said character: Roman with Gerri lmaoooo I don’t even have fun with it. What can I say, I guess I just hate to see a girlboss winning.
A random headcanon: He cries at Disney movies. Even when they’re not sad.
General Opinion over said character: He’s a piece of shit and I have SOOOO much fun watching him
Send me a character
