Are there any fae-like creatures in french myths?
I know about the story of a giant black wolf that terrorized France back in the day, but that’s all I can remember.
Legends and stories including wolves are in fact really widespread in european culture since middle age ! But yeah the most well known in France is the Beast of Gévaudan which was described as massive ! (and the one from Le petit chaperon rouge/Little red riding hood)
Concerning other creatures and fairies/faes in french legends and stories, we do have
Mélusine : fairies mentioned a bit everywhere in France, they are mostly described as women with a scaly tail lower body and are sometimes associated with mermaids or vouivres. (far from how they look like in genshin impact)
Vouivre : not to be mistaken with wyverns, vouivres are creatures described as snakes with bat wings, sometimes they are depicted having rear legs and wings (and they look very goofy like that imo). These creatures can be aquatic and in some descriptions, possess a big jewel on their forehead.
Tarasque : a creature from provencal legends, which lived in a swamp near Tarascon and terrorized and ate people. It's most popular description was of a big creature with a spiked turtle shell, six bear legs, horse ears, bull chest, lion head, a human face and a twisted tail. Legend says Ste. Marthe tamed the beast. (I swear they were just being attacked by bowser this is the same creature)
These are the one I depicted roughly in the pic above but there are many more creatures depending on the different regions of France ! (There's a lot of fairies and fantasy like creature in stories from bretagne/brittany)
Some others that I find either fun or cool are :
Meneurs de loup : which translates to wolf leaders are people told to be able to talk to wolves and even transform into one, either because they are werewolves or they made a pact with the devil. (it's kinda giving spice and wolf vibes and I love that story sm)
Jambe crue/Came-cruse : Roaming in the Pyrénées at night, this thing is a single leg with an eye on the knee that eats people and runs very fast. (Idk why this one is so funny to me but oddly terrifying as well)

dear abled people - it is absolutely none of your business with what other disabled people's health circumstances are. interrogating us to try and find out whether or not you think we're "valid" enough to call ourselves disabled or whether or not we "deserve" accommodations is inappropriate and disrespectful. we don't need to divulge our personal health to you, a complete stranger, just so you can police other disabled people for brownie points.
hiding behind disabled people as a shield to project your ableist and narrow-minded views of what you think "real disabled people should look like" is gross. the same goes for other disabled people as well. if someone does not reveal every single detail about their personal health to you, it is absolutely none of your business, and it doesn't mean they're "faking it" or that they aren't "actually disabled". for some of us, our health is very personal and private, and you shouldn't need to know all the personal details about our lives just so you can give us basic respect. just because we don't have all of our health conditions listed on a little carrd or on our twitter bio, it doesn't mean we are faking it.

Do big powerful wizards even need jobs? It feels weird imagining Clow Reed working at dennys or something
While not needed, I think it makes sense that she would feel like she should have a job, especially given how she saw touya growing up.
Ive always liked the idea of ccs only really being us seeing her starting to become a wizard rather than the whole journey of it. Sakura in her 20s trying to probe the multiverse ever since she met another version of her in a dream at the same time as struggling with work and adult life seems fun.
If there must be a ccs sequel, i wish it was this.
that's true but also like... you gotta afford life somehow right.
(one thing i've always wondered about clear card is where tf is kaito getting money from cause i don't think he's ever had a real job and he got excommunicated from his group so...??? how is he affording to continue moving around and shit)
i 100% agree about the idea of ccs only being the start of her being a wizard. i mean she has a shit ton of magic it's not like she's just gonna stop. and syaoran has his clan and all that so it's not like she's never gonna be involved in magic stuff again post-story
anyway i think 100% she could become some celebrity in the wizard world or whatever but i think it makes sense for her to have a normal person job too, cause she's got plenty of non magic friends and how are you gonna explain to them "oh im a wizard" when they ask about your job LOL

I'm not gonna screenshot it bc 1/it really doesn't matter that much and 2/the person who made the comment is a kid but: a while ago I made a comic that's supposed to be a genuine study and reinterpretation of someone else's sprite comic (made in the spirit of authenticity too - to recreate the vibes of the sprite comics from that era, iirc very specifically because it's funny) and I got a comment on that comic's post that's like "glow up"
which is a compliment obvs. and the commenter probably didn't mean anything by it, it's a common expression. but I've been trying to find a way to gracefully put that comment away ever since it appeared lol
I just very much don't want my art to be taken as trying to one-up someone else's art when that's not the piece's intention. especially when the piece that inspired my art is perceived as "low effort" or "shitpost" or stuff like that. I did mention in the tags of that post that my considering it a study is entirely genuine, and I can legitimately write pages about the cool stuff I find in it other than and inherent in the haha funneys, but that's not for you guys that's for me. I just think that approaching art competition-first like that is a miserable way to do it, and (tipping into overthinking here if the whole tiny-comment-got-stuck-in-my-brain-for-almost-a-month part hasn't given that away yet lol) I really don't want that to be the takeaway from my own art. at least generally. if I actually think the source material is trash and what I'm doing is genuinely categorically better I'd just come out and say it lmao

i'm not back back, i just wanted to let you that I'm still alive as well as share some holiday cheer with some poorly edited christmas cards from the mm and wtsr cast!
[Text ID: Dear Y/n \ Everyone can't wait to see you again: Nora's been baking overtime and don't tell her but Callie’s been chain smoking like crazy, waiting for you to come back; Kennedy's still glowing from when you two last spoke and I've never seen her so happy, and don't even get me started on Alex! They keep asking about you and I'm certain they're being more annoying than usual on purpose. \ We all miss you lots and lots - but not as much as Gralex - and we're counting down the days until we can all be together again. \ All my love, Grayson. End ID]
[Text ID: Hey y/n, \ You've been away for awhile and I miss you so I thought I'd write. I hope you're doing well and there aren't any residual effects of you-know-what. \ It's been quiet here but my brother comes by often. Sometimes he brings his friend, Enoch, and I think you'll like him! He's kinda shy at first but very sweet once you to know him. \ I also got a letter from someone named "N" who's looking for you? Maybe they're from your past and can help figure out who you are. \ I hope you come back soon, it's a bit boring here without you. \ Sincerely, Rivka. End ID]
thank you everyone for sticking with me even during my break, it means a lot to me. i hope you all enjoy the holidays and the new year, and that you stay safe!

yeah yeah i got recommended that Henry Cooldown analysis video whatever. i am still not over people comparing Henry to a medieval knight, NOT even taking the time to unpack that said mental image of a knight is 'mostly' associated with the British Monarchy*, an extension of its Empire that *checks notes* did a long list of atrocities like imperialism and colonialism, and also (multiple) genocides.
Henry is NOT British, he is Irish. Although considering the history of Ireland and how poorly the British Empire has treated them (amongst SO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES AND DIASPORAS), yeah it's NOT surprising that an Irish man like Henry is essentially forced to adopt quote on quote 'British sensibilities' to 'survive'. <- intentional imagery or not, the implications are not lost on me.
Like okay, calling out the comparison is cool but it sure would be nice if people went further to unpack what that means and implies in the long term. you know, like ACTUAL CRITICAL ANALYSIS?!
