I’m so exhausted with the pattern of trying to stress how bad trans women and transfems have it by downplaying what trans men and transmascs deal with. Don’t just guess that transmascs must experience the opposite of transfems, actually talk to some of us for once. And no, not just your White, skinny, stealth, binary trans male friend Max who started T at 16 or whatever. The transmasc community is diverse and so are our experiences. Transfems have things bad and we should support them, end of sentence. We don’t need to overgeneralize or make things up to support that fact. Even if we don’t agree on other things, can we please agree on this.

had a craving to draw my callie o'pia au design again so I Did That! it's nice having a proper cleaned-up ref now
[Image ID/description: A color drawing of an alternate universe version of Loboto from Psychonauts. He is wearing a Psychonauts janitorial uniform, a dark green turtleneck combined with a lilac jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled up. He is wearing a long, light yellow wrap skirt over the uniform, with the Psychonauts swirl design messily stitched on, several haphazard patches in mismatched fabric (including one with his canon shower cap pattern, one red with a bumblebee pattern, one blue with pink dots, and one with an orange fish and water pattern), and magenta tassels along the bottom hem. He is also wearing several accessories, including bright rock/bead necklaces and bracelets similar to Cassie O'Pia, a yellow-and-purple flower in his hair, two fanny packs, dark teal socks with simple brownish sandals, and a single long bead earring in his right ear. He still has both natural arms, long shaggy hair reaching almost to his shoulders, and still wears glasses with green-and-red lenses like his younger self. End ID.]

"We can't have kink at pride because there are kids there!"
Pride isn't for kids. Full stop. Pride is for queer people to celebrate themselves and make it clear that we're not going back in the fucking closet. There are kid friendly events at pride, and by all means bring your kids there, but pride isn't for kids.
So many people seem to have forgotten that pride was a protest and frequently a riot, and all prides today carry the implicit threat that if you try and force us back into the closet they will be riots again. The corporate sanitized version of pride is just a fucking smoke screen to allow companies to use the event for marketing and to pay for permitting and shit.
Back in the day, being queer was itself considered kink by broader society. Hence why it's so frequently mislabeled as a choice or a life style, and not an indelible part of someone's being. You can't choose to stop loving who you love, or being who you are, but to the cishets, it was seen that way, and if some groups had their way it would be considered that again.
If you accept the premise that we need to sanitize pride to make it acceptable to those who previously rejected us (and we fucking don't) then you accept the possibility of our identities being erase from public life again the moment they stop being "respectable". Nobody ever won their liberty by politely asking the boot to get off their neck now please, it's won through blood, sweat, and direct action.
An entire fucking generation of queer people died of AIDS to get us where we are today, and by playing into respectability politics you spit on their graves. None of them were afforded dignity while they lay dying in hospital beds, their chosen family forbidden from seeing them while their birth families refused to acknowledge their existence. It didn't matter how 'respectable' they were before they contracted HIV and it advanced to AIDS, they were refuse from that point. Marked as disposable and left to die by the Reagan administration.
Respectability won't save you. Assimilating won't save you. The people who want us gone do not care how much you conform to the white picket fence and life in the burbs with 1.5 kids and a dog. They want you eradicated no matter how respectable you are. They want you to go back into the closet. They want queer people to stop existing in public life. They want to kill those of us who refuse to suffer in silence.
The only way we survive and thrive is by being loud, being proud, and refusing to apologize for who we are.
Happy fucking pride everyone.

the gender politics in persona five are so fucking real. ann is hesitant to do modeling full time because she’s victim blaming herself for what happened with kamoshida. ryuji obliviously mentions that ann is missing out on going for a communal bath, forgetting it’s not mixed bathing. yusuke and morgana both put her up on a pedestal-- yusuke seeing her as one of the muses of old, morgana seeing her as not just a love interest but as proof that he’s human, that he can be loved back by a human, and she’s just an object of his desire.
makoto and sae especially-- sae wants her sister to seek power specifically because she’s a woman, because she knows how hard it is to be respected as a woman in this world and wants makoto to have the best chance possible, even though it’s only making makoto miserable to try and play respectability politics in a game where no one gives a damn about her genuine desire to help people. and it raises the question-- how long can people take advantage of her altruism before she gives up on it, before it’s easier to just be bitter and uncaring like she pretends? the road to power is a long one. she’s already tired.

I've been seeing some not exactly bad, but like... sour takes as im calling them about the world of home's relationships with each other as friends? Like, saying they aren't exactly as close and kinda rude to each other.. I'm not sure what audio you guys are finding for evidence of that? Like, ya'll know friends can tease in all lighthearted fun, even though it sounds mean with no context outside the joke?
Plus, I kinda like that this neighborhood have foils and imperfections in their personalities that can coincide with their friendship! For example, Sally can come off as full of herself and seems to look down on the "little people" like the way she calls Eddie a simple "Mailman" like she's ringing up a butler! Barnaby is LOUD and tends to interrupt. Naturally, he's used to speaking like this as he's an entertainer! And howdy is majorly implied to be a fast talking liar, all for simply making you buy more stuff! Frank is about as sassy as we all expected, so I don't mind him being a little rude.
You can be rude, vain, loud or sassy and still manage to be a good friend! Our differences is what makes us human, and that's what Clown and the VA team did a good job of! Making these puppets seem more human than fictional!
As for the neighbors suddenly changing their tone when they remember Wally is with them, I imagine it's more of a "whoops! we got so involved in our conversation, we kinda left Wally hanging! Sorry we left you out!" kinda way. Like.. the few audios came across as more genuine asking a question, or making sure to involve Wally in the situation since to their knowledge, Wally is sitting on the sidelines, looking kinda forlorn. It's why we're in Wally POV until the audio cuts off as soon as he hears his name. It just kinda snaps him out of that trance. They all genuinely love Wally so much!!!

Some of you were curious about the concept behind the Elise painting. These are the concept doodles of that AU ! ( Blaze looking at a bug is unrelated but very cute )
plus some later additional doodles :
Summary of wtf is going on here under the cut.
Basically in the AU everyone's born with a sort of invisible aura of chaos energy coating them. Some people have stronger chaos auras ( the people with special powers ), some like Knuckles and Blaze, are made to have special auras through stuff like guardianship of chaos artifacts. You might notice Sonic's aura is especially wild as hell.
So Elise right ? Elise used to have the standard aura coating, but what happened to her as a kid actually completely destroyed it. So now she's completely unprotected against other people's active auras. That wasn't really ever a problem because she never had anyone around her with a strong aura.
But then guess who she happens to spend a lot of time with in 06 ? Yeeeeup our wild boy Sonic the Hedgehog. So this wing mutation she has is because of that ! She's been absorbing Sonic and his friends' energies and her body is NOT AT ALL able to handle this stuff, so it corrupts her.

Being in pain and anguish can make you a deeply unpleasant person when it starts to grate on you to the core of your soul how unwell you are, and it really can make interacting with others so much harder.
It is hard to be around other people when you're in pain, and the sounds around you quite literally hurt, and you feel the crushing weight of reality settling deep on your chest and throat, and it feels like the world is against you. It's hard to be "pleasant" when everything feels stacked against you.
I hope to be with all of you in a metaphorical way. It's hard to be disabled and to act "normal." It's important to recognize that we can become so entrenched in the horrors of disability and pain that we lash out because when we recognize the cause, we can start finding ways to notice what might help.
Disability can feel like you're turned into a shell of who you thought you "should" be. Give yourself the space to grieve if you need to. I know it's hard. Take it a day at a time.

I will always maintain that Wei Wuxian was in the right for what he did during the Sunshot Campaign. It is morally right and even necessary to resist violent oppression with violence. Any handwringing on how oppression is fought and what kind of violence fits the bar for “good enough to not be labeled a bad guy” in the face of fighting oppression is the same as siding with said oppression.
The fact that wwx only does what he does during wartime to the people trying to oppress him but drops these behaviors completely during peacetime says a lot about his character. Meanwhile, the wartime tactics the Wen used is what the rest of the cultivation world adopt during peacetime, wonder what that says about them 🤔

After seeing all those stories of Georgia going shopping with David (I'm honestly surprised that David knows how to drive, I don't know why), I think David is fed up with so much video.
@electronic-chocolate @victorianlonging Okay, so...I have indeed seen all of the stories that are referenced here, and I think a couple of things can be true at the same time. But let's first get the visual up for anyone who hasn't seen it (all in one video, for ease of viewing):
The first thought that I had is how reminiscent this was of what we've seen recently, with Georgia filming David when he seemingly really doesn't want to be filmed (such as at that festival last month).
What also came to mind is something I think at least several of us thought of (if my DMs are any indication), which is that David is clearly, visibly annoyed. There's no real way to not notice it, with him looking incredulous in the car (though I did laugh when he said "I'm not dressed for this," given how adorable he looked without even realizing it), and then when she sets the tone by immediately using the word "content." There's no question that that's what the objective of this was: To have content of/with David that Georgia could post to garner attention.
Once they're in the store, we see him balling up the shopping bags in his hands, which to me came across as a sign of anxiety. And given how non-confrontational we know David is, it's almost amazing to hear him respond to Georgia's "Say hi!" with an immediate "Nope." And the whole thing sort of becomes what you might call a self-narrating zoo exhibit (or "self-paparazzi," as I recently heard someone aptly describe it) where David is literally just trying to shop for groceries while Georgia is sticking a camera in his face.
We also notice that at one point, David is recognized by some fans and stops to take a picture with them, which when you think about it is likely a regular occurrence, since he has one of the most famous faces in the country. But because that is the case, you'd also think he would feel a sense of relief when those interactions are over and he no longer has to be "on"...until he goes back to Georgia and she is filming him. And as good-natured as David is, there's no doubt that it must get a little tiring after a while.
All that said--and in the interest of providing a balanced perspective--it is possible that David was playing things up, to an extent, and perhaps even exaggerating some of the annoyance that we saw. And there was something else about this that stood out to me, and that deserves discussion: His shoes...
Yes, David was wearing gay pride Doc Martens. GAY PRIDE BOOTS, ladies and gentlemen and those of other gender persuasions. And when we realize this is the case, everything about this vlog/series of stories starts to gets very interesting. Because while the shoes were by no means the focal point of the Insta stories, Georgia had to know that David's eagle-eyed fans would clock them right away. And clock them they did (and I also noticed this pair of Pride-themed Doc Martens, and would not be at all surprised to learn that David owns a pair of those as well).
Leaving aside the fact that no straight man on this Earth--no matter how strong an ally--would wear those boots (I mean...come on), I almost saw this as a callback/follow up to Georgia's story from a few months ago where she appeared to use "their" pronouns when talking about David (rather than he/him). Much discussion was had at the time of this being a way to "test the waters" for David to start being more open about his sexuality/identity, and this almost feels like a continuation of that.
Having heard from queer followers of mine who are not fully out to their families/friends, it seems that it is not uncommon for folks in that position to wear things to drop little "hints" around people they are not ready to disclose to yet. And when you think about the number of "hints" from the last few months--the nonbinary pin, the pronoun Insta story, David getting emotional talking about Pride Month on that podcast, and now these new Insta stories wearing those boots--it makes you wonder if it's all building toward something.
Whatever the case may be, it's still difficult to overlook how uncomfortable David looked at times in those videos today--even if he was playing things up. For my part, I would genuinely rather never have Georgia post anything about David again than see him in her posts knowing that he is uncomfortable with it. I also agree that her hunger for content seems to be increasing, but I would also like to hope that if David did seriously ask Georgia to stop filming--for any reasons--that she would do so.
So I suppose we'll have to see what (if anything) this all leads to, and what will happen if/when she films him again. Happy as always to hear others' thoughts in the comments...
