Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...

I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character. So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)

SO... If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?

(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)

Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?

#I guess I just feel weird about investing too much into characters if possibly nobody will like them. so the idea of being able to sample #around a wider variety opens up the option of like 'hey even if neither of these 4 are your favorite - you have 3 other options soon too!' #or whatever. BUT I also am very anti-the trend of releasing half finished games or shit like that where people preorder and then #the game sucks on actual release and isn't fully playable or good until 5 updates later #HOWEVER.. those are giant companies with hundreds of employees and millions in funding. I feel like it's different for someone #if they're just like ''hey I am getting zero money for this and doing it entirely on my own in my free time and before I do like 50+ hours #of work on top of the 100+ hours of work that I already did - I would like maybe to at least see some proof #people are interested in this - so I'm releasing the game with like a small amount of the originally intended content removed #that I still have planned out and hope to add later and the game is still entirely done and completely functional #except for just a few quests I might add later.. sorry'' etc. etc. ??? like I think that's different. but maybe some people dont see #it that way and would still be like 'grrr.. how dare there be unfinished options..>:V" idk #And the nature of the quests is such that it's not weird to have it be partial like.. again.there's no major plot. it's not like the quests #are leading up to some dramatic thing and having them half done would make it feel like a cliffhanger. It's meant to be very casual just #chilling and doing little tasks and such. And last thing to clarify I guess - by 'side character' I don't mean taking some unimportant bac #ground character and forcing them to have quests. I mean like.. originally the game had 8 full characters and I thought that was #too much so I cut it down to 5. So I still had everything planned for all the side characters too. Id' just be like.. re-giving them #quests and focuses that were already planned from the beginning but that I got rid of.. former main characters banished to the side lol.. #ANYWAY... hrmm... hard to decide... It's just so niche I think. I feel more and more like I should just get it to a 'proof #of concept' state and get it out there to interest check rather than invest in it soooo much for nothing. Because I really do not have the #tastes other people do or interact with games or have interest in things in the same way. A lot of the stuff that I love (slow. character #focused things with basicaly no action or plot where its' just about getting to explore a world and learn about #people in a casual low stakes setting but ALSO not romance) I think people find very boring so... lol... #This year as I try to pick the project back up again after abandoning it for like 3 years I keep looking at stuff and going.. ough... #yeah... cut this maybe.. I should cut that too.. I should make them a side character.. remove this.. blah blah.. #Though I did ADD a journal and inventory system and other things that like People Expect Games To Have so.. maybe #that will count for something.. hey..you can collect items.. it's not just 'talking to elves for 600 hours simulator'.. are you #entertained yet? lol.... When I was making my other tiny game for that pet website and I gave it to the play testers and someone was like #''it should have achievements so I feel I'm working towards something concrete'' I was literally so blindsided like..??... people WANT that #in games..? is the goal not simply to wander aimlessly &fixate on world/character lore& make your own silly pointless personal goals? I did #do them though because it IS fun to make up little achievement names and such but.. i fear i am out of touch so bad lol..

This is a surprisingly loaded question because I have so many and some of them span for almost 20 years now.

Also, as usual, disclaimer, since I've seen all the ship wars and holywars, THESE ARE ALL PERSONAL OPINION. PERSONAL OPINION ONLY.

In the past:

My first ship when I was 12 was Pain/Konan, and I think that was the first smut I've ever read like period. I was a big cheerleader of Hinata and Naruto/Hinata because I liked that Hinata just minded her business and stayed in her lane while everyone else was going thru shit (Team 8 had the best work-life balance, I think, they just clocked in and clocked out, no shenanigans). Obviously, Temari/Shikamaru and I loved Neiji/Tenten. I think as a kid these were like really fun dynamics. Once the anime reached the Akatsuki I was all over the Akatsuki LMAO.

But now, as a grown adult, I am almost 99% just KKHD, and Akatsuki ships are like the default absolute truth to me, but recently, I've been obsessed with more Naruto Yuri.

Love Ino/Sakura for that double-income spy who owns a secret flower shop/doctor dynamic; it's just nice. Like I am a firm believer that they could have solved their differences by scissoring or something. Also like, I think their backstory is like an insane missed opportunity (but what's written cannot be unwritten, so whatever) because these pages made me feel like I was reading some kind of josei backstory. Like, go ahead and read these pretending this is not from Naruto, and tell me where do u think this could be from.

Like "pussy from a girl who treats you like a small stupid animal (good until psychic damage hits)"

Like, I would be like, this is either a shoujo manga, or the next page is older Sakura crying in the kitchen with a photo of Ino or something, and then by the end of the story, they, like fuck in the field or something while Sakura is like "I can't believe my toxic female friend from school has 4 fingers up my pussy!", but this could just be projecting, but I still like the ship. On a serious note, Sakura being a crybaby who was picked on would have been a fun opportunity to play with her character and create more empathy for Naruto within her, but her role was more like tying the two characters together, which worked well, but lots of people were salty, but it pushed people to support her character more so it evens out.

Tsunade/Shizune is like my next super fave, especially after rewatching the Tsunade arc. Tsunade's character is just so well done when it comes to how people cope with grief by doing destructive things, I loved it; Kishimoto is fantastic at mature story beats like this weaved between magical ninja fights. But yeah I loved their dynamic like Shizune is essentially her attendant/pet girl/assistant who is extremely loyal to her, but also nagging in a way and also Shizune is just very animated and kinda dorky while Tsunade is a calm mommy- sorry a mature rich woman of status who needs to be taken care of (nearly blacked out writing this). Their back and forth is just chef kiss, too. Honestly, I think that's my favourite Naruto arc; the first part of Naruto is great when it comes to mundane details that I now have more appreciation for.

And obviously still love Temari/Shikamaru! I loved that Shikamaru was always very tsundere and going on about how much he hates girls, but deep down is actually like, "Me when a bad bitch tells me to do anything." it's a satisfying way to play with his "character flaw". Seeing him go soft on Temari was like a mini character arc within his already happening character arc during Sasuke's pursuit, like we saw him grow up twice, great stuff!

The entire chapter 235 is just an amazing growth for Shikamaru in elevating the like "men/women" way of thinking to like "what makes a person who they are" way of thinking I really love that. The character is also a great reminder for those afraid of failing btw.

Kakashi/Iruka is my fave, 50% from a historical standpoint; the fact that you can find Kakairu fanfic on Geocities from 2001, and I have some doujins in my collection that are more than 20 years old now is fascinating to me. Love how incredibly loyal the Japanese fans are to Iruka; these guys were holding onto hope for so many years till the Pain arc and then, boom, Studio Pierrot's final Naruto arc!!! It's just incredible fandom history. I love that kinda stuff, love the ship itself too, it's very homey to me, some of the legendary fic they had was fantastic, like entire book's length, incredibly loyal fans.

#brainworms #idk I just think kishimoto's earlier writing in Naruto is detail rich and well done everyone feels like a real person #also rereading stuff for shikatema and its funny how shikamaru and his dad's convos feel like kishimoto's personal inner dialogue #shikatema is honestly like fandom's most beloved ship because of how natural it feels and how well and early it was setup without like any #cliffhangers or major conflict apart from some early tension #but also ino and sakura should have had more rivalry but idk if it would have fit in the story Kishimoto was telling and that's okay means #we gotta write some original story where we have the spy with flower shop and doctor relationship and the story surrounding the relationshi #is like fun as well #easier said than done but fail we may sail we must

I wonder if it would be possible to trick Fukuchi into using his ability on himself. Would he create a singularity? 

His ability is to increase the strength of any weapon he wields by 100 fold. So if he used his ability on himself, wouldn’t that also increase the strength of his ability by 100 fold? Which would then increase the strength of the weapon he wields (in this case, himself) by 10,000 fold (100x100). And so on and so on...

Considering this would be a very similar situation to that ability user who used their power of amplification on them self and became a singularity, I think it’s possible this could happen with Fukuchi as well.

Would his ability even work on himself? We know it works on that handrail he used to fight Atsushi, even though that isn’t a technical weapon, like a sword or axe, Fukuchi’s ability worked because he intended to use it as a weapon. 

Some people consider their fists as weapons, right? So if Fukuchi is fighting with just his fists and uses his ability on himself, could that create a singularity?

Now I have absolutely no idea how the ADA would ‘trick’ Fukuchi into doing this, since he is surely smart enough to not try it of his own will.

as much as it emotionally destroyed me, i do have to say those last two pages of bsd 109 are like. the perfect cliffhanger. and i'm kind of super glad bsd releases monthly rather than weekly so it can actually hold the weight it was given

Chapter 1: Part 3 [Part One] [Part Two]

The two of you confessed your feelings a few months ago. Night started to get lax with hiding the pda halfway into month two. It’s a miracle he got that far. 

Now that everyone knows you're in a relationship with a god, people have treated you differently. Thankfully none of it is negative, that you know of.

Just, people give offerings to you. Which you decline and put on Night’s alters instead. You don’t need these things. You never want for anything with Night around.

There's a festival tonight. People started setting up for it a little after midday. Erecting canopies, setting up tables, preparing food.

You’re trying to get ready but Night somehow convinced you to meet him in the temple. It’ll be quick, he said.

You dart behind the curtain and jerk back startled when you get an eyeful of Night, naked. Not that you haven't seen him naked before, it’s just, you weren’t expecting it.

He’s leaning on his altar, arms crossed over his chest. “Come on Starling. I want you to give me the first offering.”

And that's how you found yourself on your knees. Night’s head tipped back, a hand buried in your hair. 

You whine around his cock in your mouth when his hips jerk forwards. You hollow your cheeks and he moans. Looking down at you he removes his hand from your hair, cupping your cheek.

“You’re going to have to swallow for me, make sure you don't miss a drop.” You glance up at him and he just grins. “I can't get dirty Darling, I have an image to uphold of course.”

“But,” He starts, slowly fucking into your mouth. “I suppose I could just cum on you instead.” He groans. “Have you go to the festival covered in me, marked as mine.” 

Night’s hips are stuttering now, a hand coming up to rest on your head. He moans and cums down your throat. You do your best to swallow it all but some drips from the corners of your mouth.

Night pulls you up, wiping the corner of your mouth with his thumb, pressing it against your lips. You lick it clean and he grins.

As he presses a quick kiss to your lips, you feel Night’s magic around you and you're in a side courtyard. 

“Go on, enjoy yourself.”” He leaned down and to an onlooker it would look like he’s kissing your cheek. “I’ll be sure to give you some more enjoyment later too.” He murmured.

He pulls back, gives you a quick smile and then he’s gone.

You spend most of the time wandering around. Seeing other Gods and Goddesses. When the festival is winding down you start to make your way back to the temple.

Cutting through an alley you’re halfway through before the way out of the alley shimmers. Fading out of existence and becoming a solid wall. It was a mirage. 

Turning around you see Avion stalking towards you. You start to back up, trying to put distance in between the two of you.

Your back hits the wall and he still advances. You’re trapped.

He stops directly in front of you, boxing you in. He looks you over as you try to scoot around him to leave.

He slams a hand against the wall, blocking your escape. “So, was I just a plaything?” He snarls. You flinch, desperately looking for a way out, someone to notice, something.

“Someone to mess with until you go back to your lover?” He barks a laugh. “I could have been that! I’m way better than him.”

He pauses, “You don’t believe me, do you. Well,” He starts. “Avion,” a familiar voice says behind him, cutting him off. Night.

Avion whirls around, a golden dagger in his hand. Was he holding that the whole time? “You,” He snarls, pointing at him with the dagger. 

“We were just having a conversation about you.” Avion’s voice turned sweet as he twirls the dagger in his hand. The runes on the handle started to gently glow, you could see the light through the gaps in his fingers.

“Leave,” Night commanded. “And you’ll escape alive.” Avion laughed. “Oh I’ll escape alive alright, but, will they?” He jerked around, shoving the dagger into your stomach.

He yanks the dagger out of your wound and then he’s gone in a flash. 

Someone’s screaming. Who’s screaming? 

Oh, it's you. 

Why is everything moving so slow? 

It hurts. 

It hurts and Night’s there and the world speeds up again. You gasp from the pain, a slow spread of burning, emanating from where you got hurt.

Night is panicking, unsure of what to do. He bundles you in his arms and you feel the familiar whoosh of his magic before you’re being laid down on his altar.

One of his hands presses on your wound, blood seeping through the gaps in his fingers. The other is holding the back of your head. He’s crying, your Night is crying. You reach up, cupping his face, wiping away his tears with your thumb. 

“He’s cursed you. And I, I can’t save you. Only, only the god that caused the wound can heal it.” 

“What, what do you mean cursed?” you ask. “The dagger, it's, it’s a dagger of reincarnation. You’re going to be a different person next time we meet.” 

You laugh and then wince. “I’ll still love you, I know that. I will love you in every life.” Night smiles as a tear falls down his cheek. 

“And, and as I, My Star.” Night’s voice broke on a sob.  “I’ll find you again, I promise.” He leaned down, pressing a kiss to your right temple.

You felt the spot grow warm and your brain started to feel foggy. Your eyes drooped, fluttering as Night held you close. He started humming, his voice catching every few seconds.

You drifted off into a dreamless sleep, listening to the sound of your godly lover gently humming.
