"I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!”

Your wrists stung as you savagely yanked and pulled against your restraints. The rickety office chair you were strapped to rattled with every thrash.

You glared at the white haired male who leaned against his desk. His ‘innocent’ smile mocked your failed attempts of escape.

“I gave you an option.”

“CLEARLY YOU DID NOT!”

Gojo playfully shrugged at your seething form. If your hands weren’t currently tied to the chair’s arm rests you were sure they’d be around his neck by now.

Yelling in frustration, you clenched your fists the best you could, “This is insane even for you, Gojo!”

Ignoring your complaint, Gojo hummed passively, tapping a nimble finger against his mahogany desk, “Your last name.”

You quirked a brow at Gojo’s sudden change of topic, “What?”

“It’s of similar status to the three clans who used to dominate Japan in the Heian period, is it not?” Gojo titled his head, “Kamo, Zenin,” he pointed to himself, “Gojo.”

You flinched at the sudden chuckle that forced itself from his throat, “But it’s even closer to that of Ryomen.”

Ryomen?

Confusion laced your face. Ryomen certainly wasn’t one of the ruling families who still held prestige even in today’s society. You weren’t even sure you learned about the name in school. Backtracking even further, your name most definitely did not hold the same status as his. Just what was he trying to imply?

“I don’t understand,” You met Gojo’s obsidian glasses.

He scoffed, “Of course you wouldn’t. Measures have been taken to erase any trace of the name.”

Pushing himself away from the desk, Gojo’s form gilded towards you. Large hands clasped themselves around the chair's armrests, pressing into your trapped forearms. Quickly, you turned your head away from him. A sorry attempt to keep some sort of distance between the two of you.

“He was the so-called King of Curses. A title easily put to rest once the three clans finally joined forces that is.”

A small puff of air left your body before it started to turn into full blow laughter, “King of Curses, huh? Did you really take me here just to tell me a scary bedtime story?”

Gojo’s face remained stoic as he backed away from your giggling form, “No. I took you here to warn you.”

“Warn me of what,” you threw him an exaggerated smile, “Ghosts?”

The older man pressed his lips into a thin line, “Something much worse.”

Your eyebrow twitched, “Seriously Gojo give it a rest. I’m not falling for your stupid games.”

“This isn’t a game.”

You flinched at his cold tone. Straightening your back, you swallowed the lump in your throat, “Fine. I’ll humor you. What is it you're here to ‘warn’ me about?”

“Ryomen Sukuna,” Gojo’s face scrunched as if the name tasted revolting, “Monster, demon, curse, disgraced one. A living nightmare disguised as a Jujutsu Sorcerer.”

You mulled over the information spilling out from Gojo.

Ryomen Sukuna.

Jujutsu Sorcerer.

Monster.

Nonsensical words strung together which you’d normally roll your eyes at. However, Gojo’s tone held no amusement.

“Together the three clans of Sorcerers, Kamo, Zenin, Gojo, used their powers to end his reign of terror,” Gojo groaned dramatically, “Or so we thought.”

A sudden burst of laughter ripped through you as you tried to regain your breath, “You can’t be serious. First you kidnap me like some lunatic and now you're trying to convince me that the Boogeyman is real?! Gojo Satoru, I knew you were special but I didn’t think you were ‘special’ special.”

You flinched harshly when a massive hand snatched the back of your head, threading itself through your hair. Forcing your head up, Gojo’s darkened eyes met your own. You swallowed harshly. The faint pang of pain pulsated in your scalp.

“(y/n).”

You shuddered as your name rolled off his tongue. Grasping your hair tighter, Gojo bent down to your ear, “I’ll only say this once. Pay. Attention.”

You nodded slowly, allowing Gojo’s hand to tug slightly with every bob of your head.

A small smirk pulled the edges of Gojo’s mouth up, “Good Girl.”

Releasing his hold, Gojo backed away slightly, “The last name (l/n) was almost always present when accounts of Ryomen were written. Whether it was servants, slaves, subordinates, concubines, or… berserkers.”

You chewed on your lip, “I still don’t understand what this has to do with me.”

“You will soon,” Gojo pulled a picture from his coat pocket and dangled it in front of you, “Very soon.”

Squinting your eyes, you scanned the poorly captured image. From what you could tell it was a picture of a man entering a limo. His face was hidden by the door, but you could see his gigantic form stepping into the expensive vehicle.

You raised a brow, “I should be scared of a limo?”

“You should be scared of the man getting into the limo.”

“You can’t even see his face-”

Gojo placed a hand over your mouth and shook a finger, “That’s because his identity is confidential.”

It was hard to place the extreme confusion and anger surging through your body at the moment. You were expected to fear a man who you weren't even allowed to see? You internally face-palmed. Make it make sense.

Sensing your puzzled thoughts, Gojo huffed and removed his hand, “Your family used to serve a malevolent self-made God in the Heian period. Said God was assumed to be dead but the old bastards never fully finished the job.”

He tapped the picture in front of you again, “We found an ancestor.”

Realization crept up your spine, “So what you're saying is that the evil spirit God thingy back in the day was killed but not his children?”

“Bingo.”

“And you think because I'm supposably from a family who has served him for generations I'm going to turn evil?”

“Bingoish.”

You tried to find words only to fail. The whole situation was completely absurd.

“Bingoish? What do you mean?”

You let out a choked breath when Gojo suddenly plopped himself onto your lap. Making himself at home on your newly taken aback form, he sighed dramatically.

“Your temper is a tell-tale sign of what you actually are,” Gojo wrapped his arms around your neck and swung his feet passively, “You’ve got berserker blood in you.”

Gojo booped your nose, “A true soldier of evil.”

“GET THE HELL OFF ME, FREAK!”

Laughing off your boiling rage, Gojo stayed put, “Berserkers are men and, in extremely rare cases, women who are dormant jujutsu sorcerers. Their bodies contain exceedingly high levels of cursed energy.”

Your brain swam as you tried to understand Gojo’s gibberish. What the hell was he talking about?

“These individuals were so high in curse energy that the murderous tendencies of curses took over them,” Gojo pressed a finger into your chest, “Hence the name berserkers. Highly skilled, angry, vicious, and reckless soldiers who served the King of Curses at his peak.”

Gojo looked at you, “Case in point, they had incredibly intense angry issues.”

You clenched your jaw at his insinuation.

“Don’t worry too much though,” Gojo patted your head, “These murderous tendencies could only be unsealed with a single flower, Wisteria. You're not going around eating random flowers, are you?”

You deadpanned, “Obviously not.”

Gojo shrugged, “Could've fooled me.”

Growling, you thrashed in your chair. Gojo gripped your neck tighter in an attempt to stay aboard the y/n express.

“That's it, get off, Gojo! I have had enough with your stupid fairytales!”

Gojo grunted when you managed to shake his body off you. Pouting, he placed a hand on his forehead, “I can’t believe you could do this to your own teacher!”

“I can’t believe you'd do this to your own student!”

You let out a ragged breath, “Gojo I hope you realize how absolutely insane this all sounds. Jujutsu Sorcerers? Gods? Curses? Give me a break. Do you really think some ancient God’s ancestor is currently tracking me down in order to turn me into one of his super soldiers? To what? Reclaim his throne?”

“Yes.”

Mouth agape, you tried to conjure up some sort of reply before giving up. This was insane. Gojo was insane.

“Ryomen’s ancestor’s primary base is in Shibuya. The moment anyone in that city figures out what your last name is you're done for,” Gojo stood up from the floor, “(y/n), I understand this is hard to believe but trust me. You can not go into that city.”

Gojo placed a hand on top of your own, rubbing small circles into your skin with a pad of his thumb, “Okay?”

You exhaled, “Okay.”

Soft chirps woke you up from your seemingly endless slumber. You groaned loudly and flipped over. Expecting to see a sleeping Sukuna, you were shocked to find his side of the bed empty.

Running a hand over his emptied spot, you frowned slightly at the coldness. He had been gone for a while now.

Sitting up, you rubbed your face with your palms. A slight sting in your brain made you wince. You had a killer headache. Jesus, how much did you drink? You could barely remember waking up in the middle of the night.

Peaking over at Sukuna’s side again, you bit your lip in frustration. He left you alone… again. Your heart throbbed for a second. Only a second, before you realized what you were doing.

Slapping your cheeks, you pulled yourself to your feet and threw on your discarded clothes. If he could act nonchalantly, so could you. In fact, you'd leave without saying anything and pretend it never happened.

Searching high and low for your phone, you smiled brightly when you found it sitting on Sukuna’s kitchen counter.

Time: 10:04am

You sighed gratefully. You had more than enough time to make it to class. Slipping on your shoes, you flinched when the door handle jingled. Fuck. You should have been faster.

Sukuna’s tatted form stepped through the door holding a small paper bag of groceries. His brows raised at your crouched form, “You're still here?”

You tried not to cringe too much at his harsh words. God Dammit, you really should have been faster.

Standing up, you rubbed your knuckles. “I just woke up. Don’t get your panties in a twist.”

Sukuna rolled his eyes before setting down his paper bag, “Sure.”

You clenched your teeth at his openly accusatory comment, “I'm about to go talk with the front desk about my power,” Venom laced your voice, “Wouldn't want to bother my neighbor anymore.”

“No need, I already did.”

You blinked at the larger man. He had his back to you now as he started putting away various items. You noted it was a lot of food for just one person. Although you chalked it up to his greedy nature.

“Why?”

Sukuna scoffed as if it was obvious, “Your lazy ass wouldn't get up. No matter how hard I shook you.”

You cleared your throat, “Thank you. But you really didn't need to.”

Sukuna only grunted in response, paying no attention to you. Growing awkward at the silent treatment you scratched your head, “Well, see you around.”

“Are you going back?”

You halted at Sukuna’s voice, “Ya, I've got somewhere I need to be later on.”

Sukuna hummed, “See you tonight.”

You nodded your head in confusion, “See you.”

You exited Sukuna’s apartment with a bewildered expression.

See you tonight.

Was he possessed? Did Yuuji suddenly grow a foot and take his brother's place? Why the hell was he being so nice??

You paused your thoughts. ‘Nice’ as in actually treating you like another human for once.

Shaking away cluttered thoughts, you were quick to rush to the shower. Unfortunately, the color of your face drained when you realized the water wasn't working. You could punch a hole through the wall.

Rushing to your room, you piled on deodorant and prayed mint gum would hide the scent of day old wine on your breath. You'd have to talk with the front desk. Damn it, you should've just gone instead of Sukuna. What the hell was his problem?

The drive to your anger management classes went a lot better than the start of your morning. It was quick, easy, and predictable. You assumed it was because you finally managed to beat lunch hour traffic.

You felt even better when you realized you were the first person to arrive at the meeting. Even Nanami looked shocked at your sudden appearance.

“Morning, Mr. Kento!” You wildly waved your hand at the blond man.

Nanami shook his head at your antics, “Good morning, Miss (l/n).”

You felt light as a feather as the lesson carried on. Actively participating, answering questions, hell you even threw in a story or two. You weren't the only one pleased with your sudden change in demeanor. You could swear you saw the faintest smile on Nanami’s stoic face.

As all good things do, eventually the lesson comes to a close leaving you alone with Nanami. You smiled at his taller form as he made his way over to you.

“Pretty impressive stuff, huh?”

Nanami rolled his eyes and patted your back, “Thank you, (y/n). Keep it up.”

You bit the inside of your cheek to keep your smile from growing any bigger, “No overtime today?”

“No overtime today,” Nanami paused, “For you at least. Unless you're offering to help?”

You held your hands up, “Actually-”

“Perfect. I have midterms to grade and I've been needing help.”

You cried internally as Nanami led you away from the door and into his office.

You felt utterly drained as you finally made it back to your apartment complex. Nanami had kept you at his office for God knows how long. All you knew is if you ever saw another essay about psychology again you might actually lose it… again.

Banging your head on the side of the elevator, you groaned when you heard a familiar ding. The doors opened slowly revealing a waiting Sukuna. You stared at his form in surprise.

“Are you just going to stand in there or get out, rat?”

Sukuna’s words pulled you from your shock as you glared at his from, “You don’t own the fucking elevator.”

Sukuna’s smirk turned downward as he shoved inside the small metal box with you. You grunted when his shoulder slammed into your own. Catching your fall, you flipped him off.

“Real classy, Pinkie Pie,” Stepping out of the elevator, you hesitated when Sukuna called your name.

“Don’t wear that outfit again. You're prettier than that.”

The metal doors closed on your jaw-dropped expression.

“YOU MOTHERFUCKER!” You threw your bag violently at the doors.

Loud cackling slowly disappeared as the elevator descended. You yelled out to no one in particular as you clutched your hair. As tempting as it was to rip out your own hair, you decided against the bald look. You were sure Sukuna would have a field day with a bald (y/n).

Storming to your apartment door, you reached for your key angrily. All you wanted to do was take a hot shower and sleep. Though you were quickly reminded of your lack of water by a large pink slip plastered onto your door.

NOTICE! APARTMENT CLOSED DUE TO WATER PIPE BURST. PLEASE CONTACT FRONT DESK FOR MORE INFORMATION.

You had to be fucking kidding.

Slipping your key into the door, you twisted the key wildly. The door remained stagnant as the key rattled inside the door knob. You growled in frustration as you shoved your key in harder. A sickening snap almost made you see red.

Your key broke off in your door. Your door which apparently had its lock changed.

Slamming your fists against the white wood, you swore obscenities you weren't even sure were real words. The door creaked pitifully as you tried to force your way in.

Finally stopping your assault on your door, you placed your forehead against the wood. Ragged breath escaped your mouth in random patterns as you slowly tried to calm yourself.

What the hell were you going to do? All your shit was in there. Could they even do this? You'd have to ask Nanami about a possible lawsuit.

Spinning on your heel, you slid down the wood and hid your face in your knees. How could this day get any worse.

“What are you doing?”

Oh right, it can.

Lifting your head from your legs, you glared at Sukuna. He stood above your small frame with an apathetic expression as he held a newly acquired take-out bag.

You pointed to your door with your thumb, “Don’t you know how to read?”

Sukuna hummed and snatched the pink slip off your door. A dark laughter erupted from his throat at the italicized print.

“Pipe burst, huh?” Sukuna rubbed his chin, “What did you shit too much or something?”

You watched Sukuna from below. His words seemed more to himself than to you.

“No, fuckhead.”

Dragging yourself up from the floor, you rubbed your back, “They didn't send me any notice or warning. This has to be illegal!”

Sukuna shoved the pink slip into your chest, “Illegal or not you're shit out of luck.” His eyes glanced behind you before he whistled, “Even broke your key. That's coming out of your deposit.”

You cluthced the pink slip and crumpled it, “This isn’t a fucking joke.”

Sukuna scoffed, “Figure that out all by yourself, rat?”

Your hand clenched into a first involuntarily. It would be so easy to hurt him right now. Make him feel how you feel. Sukuna watched your form with mild amusement, clearly interested in your next move.

Out of the blue, Nanami’s face flashed behind your eyes. You stopped yourself. You promised Nanami you were better than this. Unclenching your fist you sighed, “Forget it.”

You noted how Sukuna’s face dropped. His expression held an underlying disappointment. Did he want you to hit him again?

Sukuna mumbled under his breath, “I guess you're still not ready yet.”

You raised an eyebrow, “What?”

Sukuna shook his head, “Nothing. Come on.”

He waved a hand to follow him to his apartment.

“Where are we going?”

Sukuna gave you a look, “You're more than welcome to sleep in the hallway.”

You rolled your eyes and followed after his retreating form, “Thank you kindly, neighbor.”

Gem AU Hierarchy Tier-List

Roles explained below if curious-

EDIT: I FORGOT TO PUT IN CHARMY’S INFORMATION LIKE A DUMMY SO NOW IT’S ALL THERE-

Black Doom (Black Diamond)- The diamonds obviously. The other three aren’t here since their icons weren’t in the thing. And Black Doom is the top shit black diamond lol

Knuckles, Shade and Tikal (Pyrope, Malaya Garnet and Spessartite) - Garnets. Basically commanders that are second in command to the Diamonds, lead armies or large groups of gems on colonies for their respective diamonds as Diamonds can’t be everywhere. Knuckles is the only one unaware of his role- at this point in time only 4 of them exist but this could change.

Bark (Bumblebee Jasper)- Was originally a working class tank gem but got moved up to a more elite role due to his rarity and his high amount of success. (and also due to the fact Knuckles/Pyrope was believed been destroyed before emerging from the planet so he was kinda a pseudo-replacement in a sense)

Vanilla (Petrified Wood)- An aristocratic like gem, seen as elegant and graceful and she as a very important duty. She is one of the gems charge of the production and creation of organic gemstones, serving as a mother like figure to them. (i.e. ambers, jets, other fossilised gemstones that can be found in the ground and plant like substances. she doesn’t do the water ones that goes to other roles)

Blaze (Sugilite)- A very rare gem who serves as a judge for legal cases, mostly for cases that the diamonds don’t feel the need to overlook or simply can’t due to their duties.

Silver (Moonstone)- A rare and sought out gem, serves as an oracle who uses his psychic powers of future vision to tell gems their future. There’s very few of them and are highly valued.

Wave (Phosphosiderite)- An extremely rare type of gem. Works as an elite Inventor/Scientist gem. Very prideful in her job and loves to be an overachiever to try and look better than the rest.

Espio (Charoite)- A slightly rare gem working gem. A Stealthy warrior gem that is made for specialised assignments, such as being hired by other elites to spy on gems in the darkness or to remain as hidden guards. Perfection is key for their job.

Sonic (Benitoite)- A very rare gem. They few of them that exist are entrusted to command fleets of airships. Sonic/Benitoite found his job to be unfortunately very dull, in fact he found a lot of the life of the elite class a boring existence.

Honey (Imperial Topaz)- While there is a massive amount of Topaz’s, she is considered very rare and precious for her kind and colouration. Her job is to the an announcer/reporter gem. She tries to make it more entertaining but frequently is told off and to treat it more like a job.

Shadow (Mahogany Obsidian)- A rarer variety of Obsidian. They’re usually made to be elite bodyguards and escorts to higher class gems. Shadow/Mahogany was assigned to many gems but for the longest was the escort of Maria/Sapphire whom he came to adore and care for a lot. (platonically of course)

Vector and Storm (Rainforest Jasper and Zebra Jasper)- Jaspers are made to be massive hulking tank gems. Vector/RJ is considered a rare (albeit in his case slightly defective) variation are among his batch, while Storm/ZJ is a very common variation of Jasper (who would also be marked defective due to an... incident-). Jaspers usually work in big teams and both of them even worked in a team with Bark/BBJ but they were eventually split up. Vector/Rj was assigned to be a personal guard for Vanilla/Petrified Wood, and Storm/ZJ was assigned to be a ‘guard’/’guinea pig’ for Wave/Phosphosiderite

Big (Auralite 23/Red Cap Amethyst)- An extremely rare gem that is named Auralite 23 due to their stone type being a massive mix of 23 components of different gems, and Big/Amethyst is the latest and only one to currently exist. Big/Amethyst was deemed defective due to not being the size he should be, Amethysts are quartz’s and should be smaller and more all-around fighter, while he’s the size of a hulking tank Jasper and almost bigger than regular ones. He was experimented on before being assigned to the other Jaspers to work as a Tank warrior.

Mighty (Fire Agate)- Agates are assigned drill sergeants/troop leaders, made to keep other warrior gems (quartz’s, jaspers, etc) in line and train them if necessary. Mighty/Fire Agate is deemed rare for his batch but was also deemed defective due to his pacifistic nature.

Tiara (Tigers Eye)- A Look-out/Scouting gem, made to look out and run ahead on the battle fields for enemies. They’re small but sturdy and fast. She’s not rare but still rather uncommon. She was chosen by Honey specifically to help her with assignments.

Rouge (Pearls)- A beautiful and uncommon gem type that are made to be entertainers, usually with singing and dance. They’re loved for their looks and their work but they’re not respected.

Ray (Lemon Jade)- Jades are plentiful and are made to be personal assistants, different colourations being assigned/made for high class gems that request one. Even the Diamonds have their own personal Jades. Ray/Lemon Jade is an uncommon variation.

Tails (Heliodor)- An uncommon type of middle-class working class gems. They’re made to be aircraft technicians, building, repairing and working in aircrafts, usually in massive fleets. Most Heliodors emerge with two sets of arms to aide in their duties, Tails/Heliodor was deemed a defect immediately after emerging due to having an odd pair of tails instead of the usual set of arms. He was kept from being shattered due to Sonic/Benitoite taking him under his wing and he was assigned to work for him in his fleet.

Jet (Malachite)- A slightly rare type of working class gems. Malachites are assigned to be piloting gems. Jet/Malachite was marked a defect due to his size but since pilots are needed he wasn’t shattered, he is strictly only assigned to pilot supply ship drops so other gems don’t have to see him.

Bean (Peridot)- Common working class gems. They work in construction, more so in architecture and creating buildings for other gems. They’re abilities aide them in work. Bean/Peridot was assigned to make personal living quarters for Bark/BBJ. He was chosen as the ‘messenger’ so to speak to Bark/BBJ, letting him know of plans and getting his input on what he wanted for his quarters. They bonded over time.

Marine (Sard)- Common working class gems. Small-sized and plentiful but sturdy gems that are given jobs that require physical labour. They frequently work with other gems like Carnelians and Onyx’s. They’re usually in small batches at a time and usually are made to squeeze into tight spaces for labour work.

Gadget (Carnelian)- A more uncommon working class gem type. Carnelians and gems similar to their type are huge and bulking much like Jaspers, made to do physical labour and lift extremely heavy parts for construction of large structures and machines (like injectors).

Amy (Thulite)- A common lower class working gem. Thulites are a type of maintenance worker, usually in floral decoration. Ordered to make the areas they’re assigned to clean and pleasing to the eye. They’re work was thankless however and they’re not deemed worthy of a lot of respect.

Charmy (Honey Calcite)- Extremely common low-class working gems. They’re assigned as resource hunters. Hunting down possible resources or items that could be used and using their specialised bubbling abilities to attain them. They’re seen as weak and easily replaceable so they’re not that valued.

Cream (Amber)- One of the gem types at the very bottom of the Gem-kind Hierarchy. Ambers are massively plentiful in numbers but are very weak and easily damaged, so they were made to be servant gems. Cream/Amber emerged late and is a defective Amber due to being twice as small as most Amber gems. She doesn’t know of her real role on homeworld and the others shield her from the truth for the sake of her innocence.

Nack (Hackmanite)- A very rare gem type. Their place in the hierarchy is strange as they technically don’t exist according to other gems and are a secret that only the Diamonds know about. They were made to Assassin/Hunting gems to handle the more rebellious group of gems. Nack/Hackmanite was a defect due to his size but due to their being so few was kept alive and giving limb modifiers to make his physical form appear taller.

Zero/Infinite (Black Opal)- Middle Class gems that are now very few and believed to be completely gone and outdated. Opals used to be fairly big in numbers, used for their holographic abilities, usually making hyper realistic holograms for demonstrations. That is until technology began to evolve and their gemstones were used as a powersource for a lot of that technology. A lot of the Opal gem types began to rebel to save themselves but it proved unsuccessful. Zero/Black Opal was particularly rare in his batch. He was apart of a small group of Opals whom he had a very sibling like bond with them, he was the only one to survive his batch while the others were seemingly shattered and their shards used to power this tech. So Opals are now an extremely rare find and if more happened to be found, they are to be shattered.

Others that aren’t here due to not having images on the tier list are Ix (Blue Diamond), Pachachamac (Red Diamond), Finitevus (Yellow Diamond), Maria (Sapphire), Julie-Su (Rhodolite), Scourge (Aventurine) and Matilda (Moss Agate),

Although it’s not a big must to include a vivid description of your character, it would be ideal because if you don’t, your reader will form his/her own impression which creates a problem if later the character is described, making the reader have to adjust their thinking to suit the description which should never happen.

Little reminders of different physical attributed, habits, gestures, etc., combined with action add to the feel of the character, making them ‘living and breathing beings.’ Some writers may not describe their character and leave it up to the readers to form their own image but remember, this is your canvas, your characters! As a writer, writing character descriptions is important because you are painting the canvas for your readers and no artist leaves any details out. Some ways to write strong characters is starting with physical appearance; since literature is non-visual, a picture is the first step towards building your characters development and instead of focusing on monotone words, choose the adjectives that stand out to you and really go along with the image you have in mind about your character, and think of the characters interests and hobbies; if you mention that your character likes harry potter, your readers might imagine them with some sort of accessory in their outfit that represent him.

Of course, in our life, we see many different people, with many different traits and features, so why not use them? Practicing writing character descriptions that fit the people in your life is a great way to make the description flow easily especially if there was a person who really caught your eye, and you still remember them. Writing descriptions that feature your friends and family will make it easier for you because you’ve spent so much time with them. So try to make a list of possible physical traits and character traits that you’ve observed in your life, like when you meet someone new, what’s the first thing you notice? Think of your first impressions of people and create your own person.

Daybit is a self fashioned survivalist. The culmination of his skills is a hand crafted Ether-enforced mahogany obsidian knife he consistently carries. The obsidian knife is a Mystic Code he crafted to cut the likes of Ghost Liners and other such beings disrupting their flow of mana in the process.

There was an odd torture to be found in the lingering silence that surrounded Bucky inside of the bathroom. Were it not for the dim glow of the strawberry-scented candle on the sink, the total darkness would've made him feel even more lifeless than he already felt. He laid as still as a decorative statue inside of the bathtub, his listless eyes gazing impassively at the dull shimmer of light reflecting off the obsidian colored scales that made up his lower body. The tail-fin of his merman form hung off the edge of the tub, its shape and visage changing in his perception the longer it remained immoveable in darkness, like a monster waiting to jump at him. Of the horrendous torments he'd endured in his long unnatural life, this was by far the most surreal and strange of them all. Life as a merman was often romanticized in fantasy novels as a form of beauty and freedom, but Bucky couldn't help but feel those notions were sorely overrated. Life as a merman was being a prisoner to your own vulnerable condition, especially when you lived in a high-rise studio apartment in Brooklyn. Ever since he'd been turned into a man-fish, his nerves were on the fritz and there was nothing he wanted more than to scream out his agony and frustration due to the hopelessness of his predicament. Selina, his beautiful and persevering kitten, had taken everything in stride and made the necessary arrangements towards getting him the necessary living accommodations. The bathtub he was presently laying in was nothing more than a common luxury no different from the others in the building until a few weeks ago. Thanks to a suspiciously charitable donation, Selina had the tub retrofitted with a heat-pump that kept the water at a warm temperature, so he wouldn't freeze at night. There was another pump that he suspected was used to clean the water and pour fresh salt into the tub. The noise was practically mute that were it not for the soft vibrations moving against his hips, Bucky would forget they were there. Despite how unfavorable he found his situation to be, Bucky couldn't help but be impressed by it all. He suspected Steve or even Stark had a hand in all this behind his back. Time would've been unknown for him were it not for the radio Selina would turn on for him each morning and afternoon. Those were the only high-points of his day; Selina in some ways was his anchor that kept him from drifting across the sea of despair he found himself standing in. A crushing abyss formed in his chest each time he watched her leave, and each time he had to tell her that he didn't want Mattie to see him like this. His baby-girl, so pure and full of life and innocence, he wanted to protect her from the oddities and cruelty this world presented with each passing day. The grief he felt was a welcomed hardship, but he knew that unless Steve's sorcerer pal found a way to help them undo this cursive magic, Bucky would have to face his little darlin', sooner or later. His troubled thoughts were interrupted by the sound of small steps encroaching outside the bathroom. His heart thumping with anticipation, he waited with baited breath until the doorknob slowly began to jiggle and turn.

With the devious prowess of an inquisitive kitten, seven-year-old Madison Barnes cautiously trudged into the darkened master bedroom, the soft illuminance of moonlight caressed her tousled, damp mahogany tresses, she had just finished her evening bath within the guest bathroom, encompassed by bubblegum scent mounds of frothy bubbles and deep sea-driving with her Disney princess doll-Ariel. She wasn't allowed to venture beyond the stairwell, to snuggle under the sheets that were soothingly infused with her Daddy's masculine scent of heady sandalwood and mint. Nothing compared to that smoky fragrance; Mattie missed her Daddy terribly, feeling detached from his protective warmth, the soft pressure of his quirking shapely lips gracing her cheek with a loving glide, the boyishness of his hearty laughter and heaviness of his corded muscles cradling her. Without him, she became a hostage of a restless sleep and disinterest of Disney movies and scraping her knees on home base. As hope restoked her brazen spirit, she collectively advanced past the vacant bed with stealthy paces of her delicate bare feet and neared the closed bathroom door. Her tiny hand reached up for the knob, jiggling it bit, only to realize that it was locked and etched with a keyhole. Selina always wore the key around her neck, along with Bucky's GI tags-there was no way of infiltrating the forbidden room, unless... Alighted with a surge of ingenuity, she whirled around with balletic poise and fixed her jeweled- bronze irises determinedly on the elegant wooden vanity, finding a hairpin atop of a collection of shabby notebooks. "Yeah, that could work," she murmured in hushed volume while suppressing a melodious giggle. "Mommy's kitty tricks can always open things that are locked..."

In the span of a few seconds, Bucky briefly considered raising his voice to warn off who the suspected visitor was. Or failing that, hide himself beneath a sheet and the tub-water since he now had no trouble breathing underneath it. Or, he could just growl and pretend to be sea-monster in the hopes that Mattie would find it alarming enough to run back to bed? He mentally slapped himself the moment the thought entered his mind. His little darlin' was far too clever and old to fall for that. Indecision tore at him, and he felt increasing dread and panic settling into his bones as the knob continued to jiggle; he discreetly hoped that for once that his daughter's skills would fail her. Once the latch successfully turned and the knob with it, he felt his heart stop and his breath catch in his chest. There was no stopping her now, he knew. She would see him for what he was, what he'd become. A freak, not the handsome human she used to call "daddy". Slowly he let his head sink into the tub water until only his steel-blue eyes were above the surface. The silence that was enveloped the room was disturbed as the door slowly creaked open and a soft voice entered his midst.

Registering a slap of water gushing over the low-dipped whirlpool tub, Mattie reeled back hesitantly at the second her dark irises alarmingly captured a monstrous shape arching reactively against her swift intrusion. With steeled control etched over her angelic, kittenish features, she harbored resistance taking a moment to effectively steer her questing gaze against the semi-darkness and faint glow of candlelight. Everything bespoke isolation in the contrasts, the air was potent with a stench of salt, bracing herself, she edged closer to the granite step that had an empty plastic bowl of soggy corn pops and a half-filled glass of cranberry juice. "Daddy, are ya in here..." she beckoned with a hitching breath. "You gotta stop hidin'..."

Bucky's eyes shuttered tightly to mask the pain that was moving through him. The sound of Mattie's voice had the power to undo him from even the most hardened knot. Beautiful and tentative with child-like wonder as she brazenly entered the bathroom wearing her PJs. Her mahogany locks were curly and wild as if she had just got out of bed, yet the sound of her voice and the clear complexity of her face made it clear that she hadn't been sleeping much. He wondered where Selina was, or if she was still asleep and Mattie had just been that good—that stealthy—to have slipped past her. It didn't matter now, his little darlin's steps took her closer towards the tub where he could no longer hide himself in the dim shadows and the sloshing water surrounding him. "Mmph, go back to bed, Mattie. You can't be around daddy right now. Daddy's not doin' too good," he said with tired voice that he hoped sounded convincing. There was no use hiding himself, but at least he could gently deter her from him he hoped. He could let her see him like this. What if she screamed in shock? What if she ran to bed in distress and he was unable to go and comfort her? He couldn't decide which outcome was worst, but they both made his heart feel heavier. Swallowing, he watched as she paused a few feet from the tub, her brown orbs peering at him with thought.
