REVIEW | "Magu-chan: God Of Destruction" - Vol. 7 | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade
Tumblr media
Now that Muscar has been dealt with, it appears things will be going back to normal in Magu-chan: God of Destruction. Well…as normal as one can be living in a world with tiny chaotic deities. At the very least, nobody has to worry about losing one’s life. However, as we see in its seventh volume, the characters of Magu-chan: God of Destruction are getting ready for some changes.
Things start off with some one-shot adventures, as the gang attempt to enter a supposedly haunted apartment complex. While ghosts aren’t found, there are some familiar faces discovered behind some of these doors. It leads to some good laughs, especially from Naputaaku, who seems more terrified than the humans. Meanwhile, a day at the beach turns into an emergency work order, as Ren’s mother suffers heat stroke during the restaurant’s busiest of days. Not only does Naputaaku shine again as a replacement cook, but Magu-chan also gets some laughs thanks to him using his likeness to sell beach items.

This leads to probably the strongest chapter in the volume, as the tiny gods find themselves stranded on an island. It’s another situation that showcases just how hilariously useless these deities are without their human compadres. Add on the appearance of Uneras, who lazily decides to not offer a helping hand in this situation, and you’ve got a recipe for a front row seat for disaster. Although they do get rescued in the end, who it is that winds up being the hero winds up being a delightful surprise.

MAGU-CHAN OFFICIAL TWITTER ACCOUNT @magmenuek_info ARCHIVE
Hi guys it's your favorite loser Mod Napu from @maguchan_ooc on twitter. Site seems like it's going to go to hell in one form or another with an incoming outage soon–hopefully not a permanent one but we can't predict the future, so I made whatever preparations I could. Before we get to our own archive my priority is preserving the series's official account. There's a lot of bonus artwork and media on there you can't find anywhere else!! So here is a zip file containing ALL media posted and retweeted by the account (photos, videos, gifs, provided they weren't deleted/privated). The text file contains the original twitter image links. The excel file contains the text in the tweets that went with said links. Unfortunately I was not able to archive their text only tweets but pretty much everything notable had some kind of media attached. I'm sorry it's not organized at all; I'm scrambling a bit to get this up :P There are translations available for some of the Q&A stuff but that's all up on my personal account so that's another thing I'll get to figuring out later. I also have the fanart contest works archived because I bulk downloaded their likes but there's kinda complications with reuploading a bunch of random twitter artists' work so. Will think about that later. My sincere hope is that this is all for nothing and some tech company buys it at a loss from muskrat and slowly attempts to recover the damages but...we'll see. As for our stuff, stay tuned! Unless we don't need to. I hope we don't need to. Also I invited mods White-Winged Messenger and Yuika here too. Tell them hi

REVIEW | "Magu-Chan: God Of Destruction" - Vol. 6 | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade
Tumblr media
As the real enemies start to come out of the woodwork, the world of Magu-chan: God of Destruction continues to expand. Although it’s more focused on the lighthearted shenanigans between gods and humans, it knows when to make room for when the threats come a-knockin’. In Volume Six, the God of Fate Muscat begins to play his hand. What he didn’t expect is that the others have better cards!
Muscat aims to use Magu-chan to take over the world, but convincing him to do so is easier said than done. From cooking contests to Tanabata wishes, his wanting to conquer the world takes a bigger role in this volume than in the past. However, it reaches a point where Muscat decides to take matters into his own hands, as he puts the city into a deep sleep. Angrily, Magu-chan sets out to take down Muscat, but with a little help with some friends!
Tumblr media
In the beginning of Volume Six, the tactics of Muscat are a lot more humorous. He’s taken aback by Naputaaku’s changed ways, who would rather cook and earn an honestly living than to have everything handed to him. It leads to a match to please Magu-chan’s tastebuds, with Muscat being nowhere near a decent chef than Naputaaku or Ruru. (It also leads Magu-chan to having what might be his first food taste freakout, a staple of traditional Japanese manga comedies.)
But it’s when things get serious where Magu-chan: God of Destruction shows off its muscles. A sleepy fog is covering the town, and only Magu-chan and the other gods can save their allied meat-bags. What happens when Magu-chan and Muscat face off is something you’d see commonly in a traditional shonen series, but with a bit more heart placed into its reasoning and presentation. All of it brings it towards a punchline that one should’ve seen coming ages ago, yet somehow manages to still be surprising.
