It's actually really revolutionary for tazmuir to write in Gideon enjoying food and food as a comfort.

Gideon, a girl who's lived on leeks and oatmeal for years, finally getting to eat real food. And enjoying it. And eating a lot.

Gideon deserves it!!! Although other characters are slightly unnerved by it (Harrow, because she lives on water and uncooked cauliflower, Camilla because she likely doesn't know why Gideon is eating so much) the narrative doesn't demonize her for it and it's just kind of acknowledged, and we the audience sort of understand it as, "she's never eaten anything more than leeks in her life"

I wish I could say more but I'm just. So hyperfixated on Gideon, a girl who's allowed to consume without being seen as gross for consuming for doing things that would, today, be demonized because Gideon is a girl (a teenager girl at that!!)

i like how the aldhani escape plan relies on this natural phenomenon of a recurring meteor shower because it plays into the man vs nature theme explored in rebels. there are things beyond the empire’s understanding, beyond their control despite their far-reaching power. but the rebels work with those uncontrollable elements, and in turn take on the characteristics of these phenomena—lasting, untameable, and always returning no matter what, cycle after cycle. it can’t be stamped out. the empire is and will always be transient because it is in constant opposition to the natural state.

no but i love how this ep really drove home that the real cassian vs the “cassian” he chooses to present to the world are NOT the same person....... skeen saying that cassian was born in a hole and had to climb over everyone else to survive was actually so laughably wrong, because we have SEEN with our own eyes that even after his parents died, he was part of a community where the kenari children took care of each other and that HE HIMSELF was a caregiver for his own little sister. and that explains so perfectly why he had ZERO hesitation over shooting skeen.

also can’t help but think that this is foreshadowing his skill as a spy—it’s like he habitually pretends to be someone he’s not, out of self-preservation and/or as a defense mechanism.

Ppl ragged on lucasfilm for recasting young han solo with alden ehrenreich back in the day but hindsight is 20/20 and I would take a recast of luke skywalker over a deepfake and lifeless vocal synthesizer if it meant we could get a real performance with actual life and dimension lmao…… also alden did a great job and ppl’s heads are just too far up their asses to realize that
