“Hey Jamie? You remember the first time we met all those Halloweens ago?”

“Why of course! I remember it clear as day!” The dapper ego signed with much giddiness, before joining you on the couch. You weren’t watching anything too interesting on television, so your attention was only on each other. 

How could Jameson ever forget the moment he saw you? The moment you walked through Jack’s door and lit up his life?

It was actually just after Halloween, when you visited him and the other egos to help them take down their decorations. You ran into Jameson for the first time to assist him in tossing out some rotten pumpkins. The second he saw you, his heart skipped beats and he couldn’t help but be drawn to you.

Was it your looks? Your personality? Your smarts? Perhaps it was all the above, though regardless you two became fast friends that day.

You’ve helped him get more acquainted with the modern times. Obviously, he knew about social media, but his brothers could get too confusing and chaotic when trying to explain what else has changed. When it got overwhelming he’d go to you instead if he needed anything clarified.

It was actually good that he made a great first impression, considering the months of uncertainty that followed his debut. Fans speculated if he was his own person or just Anti in an innocent façade. 

Fortunately, all of that was cleared up and he couldn’t be more relieved that he wasn’t mistaken as a “bad guy” anymore. But he got through it with your help, and he couldn’t appreciate you more for that.

“Thank you.”

“For what? Existing?” You joked half-heartedly.

“Yes. Your presence here brightens my world!” Jameson’s grin only widened. “You’re sweet, but strong and assertive when you need to set the other lads straight. And I admire that.”

“Awh you’re too kind, Jamie.” You chuckled, before sighing as you looked outside, seeing that it was such a beautiful day out. Why waste it inside with a bunch of loud Irishmen? “You wanna go for a walk or something?”

“Why, I thought you’d never ask! Let us seize the day!”

Fact: all the really evil wizards include positive clauses in their curses to make it harder for people to get them dispelled. After all, a curse that withers your arms and causes brutal itching is pretty horrible, but it becomes agonizing when that curse also guarantees that you'll find true love if you can survive it for just one year.

Fact: all the best evil wizards do the same thing, except they just lie about there being a subtle up-side to the curse. If they're clever enough about it, they'll never know it was BS to begin with.

I believe there is a theme with curses as this isn't the first ask about them and their pratical aspects.

My wife has joked to some of our friends that she's 86% sure that I'm a cryptid because of various factors (from being able to see well in complete darkness without any issues, calming down feral animals by just talking to said animal for a minute, etc).

And I'm thinking about FL with a reader that has cryptid energy and thinks he's just the cutest little guy ever hehehe like they're pretty weird in their own regard but they have a lot of heart and somehow have befriended lots of creatures throughout the world (from the regisvines to hilichurls to weenuts to the mushroom creatures, they're all about making friends)

*claps hands* hoyoverse make a character who is friends with Abyss Mages in a wholesome way, do it!!

you and Childe would get along famously since you both have a mischievous streak- when he's not on the clock, of course. your favorite activity is popping out from the shadows when he least expects it, acting like you've been there the whole time when you definitely weren't! he also adores how you become friends with any creatures you run across, ranging from cats all the way to the monsters of the wilderness (he swore he once saw you using an Abyss mage as a pillow), so he's not worried about introducing you to Foul Legacy at all

Foul Legacy, on the other hand, IS worried- what if he's the exception, the one monster you find terrifying? he wants you to like him as much as he likes you!! so when Childe finally allows him to meet you, he instantly tries to lower his head so he appears more friendly, less intimidating. luckily his worries are for naught, because you think he's the cutest, most beautiful beast you've ever seen, laughing with delight and cupping his cheeks so you can plant a kiss on his forehead. now whenever you happen to see Foul Legacy you immediately run towards him, hoisting yourself onto his shoulders so you can mess with his hair and horns, putting little flowers that you found earlier in his ginger locks

you both give shiny rocks to each other as gifts :)

for the ask game, tango runs hot. like SUPER hot. around 115-130 fahrenheit depending on the weather, that means his bases are usually hot to emulate the nether climate which is extremely inconvenient for other hermits cause they can't stop by for more than 20 mins without having to shower. he doesn't see the problem with this

Tango Flame-Boy Tek being closer to the temp of actual fire (compared to humans at least)? Oh my goodness, IMAGINE the chaos! The man immediately heats any room he walks into. Decked Out feels practically normal when compared to his past bases, and most Hermits can't fathom how in the world the ice in the Dungeon hasn't melted yet.

(It has to be black magic or something. Seriously, how?)

At the very least it's nice in the winter, because if you're out in the snow and freezing your butt off? Just stand next to Tango! This is extremely helpful for Jevin, who's at a slight risk of freezing solid if he gets too cold.

I guess the ones I’ve been actively working on this month…

And They Were Zoom-mates… silly modern AU that got completely out of control. 225k series for some reason. One chapter left when my brain applies itself to editing.

Purgatory - early canon divergence. Back from mini-hiatus. Currently at chapter 39. Hoping to finish by chapter 50… bit I’m side eyeing that projection.

Tio-verse multi-chapter - unpublished WIP. Projecting ~10 chapters and approximately 50% complete.

Dark Alternative - Dark magic AU. Rayllum childhood friends to lovers. ~20+ chapters (projected, likely more) Currently 50k WIP doc

Out Of Time sequel - God… like… I wanna but I don’t. They were finally happy in that ‘verse. And yet… Six uber sad chapters. Currently 10k written. I can tell it wouldn’t take much to finish but the guilts get me.

Snake Boi Callum fic - failing to adhere to a 500 word limit to the prompts so ~4K at present. Aiming to publish for that event.

Bloodythirsty follow up - no idea why, but liked this AU and wanted more. Probably half done. Have in my head to post for Halloween. Maybe an M/E rated additional chapter because vampire are hot.

I have a lot of other half baked ideas (Finnegrin’s Wake from both Rayla and Callum’s POV, one-sided Sorayla fic, super random regency fic) that get picked up every now and then, but the ones above are the ones most likely to see competition/AO3 at all.

Gosh just tryin to catch up on your blog cause it's been a lil bit, and suddenly I'm plagued with thoughts of the Cicin Mages and Mirror Maidens.

Oh the humiliating and painful things I would let them do to me just to earn the smallest scraps of praise. Scrambling over myself because one brought out the bug guns she knew would make me agree to anything "don't you want to be my good girl?" Oh I'd be ruined, suddenly actions that seemed too embarrassing to even consider seem like nothing at all, anything to earn that vaunted "Good Girl" title they dangle just in front of my nose.

And then when I'm exhausted, far too dumb to function alone, but too needy to try and get away, the gentle and tender touch that scopps me up from the ground and holds me so lovingly on her lap. The Mirror Maidens all coo and reach in to gently rub at bruises and wipe away my tears before my head gets tucked into the neck of the one holding me in her lap. A few cold words tossed at the Cicin Mages for "being so cruel to this sweet little thing!" And suddenly the praise I had worked so hard to pry from the Cicin is being rained in abundance. Not one holding back from running their fingers in my hair or gently caressing any part of me they wish, all while repeating how good I'm being for them, even go so far as making me say it as well so they can be sure I know.

And finally at the very end, when all the mages and maidens have had their fill. Their favorite little plaything gets picked up and carried away by their real owner. Signora is especially doting after these little events, when she calls her best subordinates to gather for a nice meal and "play time" with me. Oh but a bath has never been so immaculately soothing then it is right after being so thoroughly used, made only better by the more powerful woman slipping in as well to gently massage the soap and shampoo in for me. In these quiet moments, closed off from prying eyes, she holds back no praise. Where normally she can tend to be cold and rough in how she handles me, we both know it's partially for show. To make the other harbingers and her subordinates believe that she keeps me constantly at work to please her. Because how much trouble would it cause, if anyone learned that there's little she won't do if I'm the one who asks her.

Ok, geez, I'm sorry, this flew a bit off the handle...

Ayyy it's been a while since I got dragon age ask. Here's the thing if the peaceful solution worked then there would have been no rebellion to begin with, if a group of people decided that there's no other way but to declare a war then they already exhausted any other options

While I love the writing and world building of f&h I gotta agree that it (and a lot of grim dark fantasies in general) generally lean on the aesthetics of ‘foreign’ mysticism too much just to create a sense of? idk. mystery I guess. Cause what’s unknown is scary and that includes other cultures (sarcasm). The characters Nas’hrah, O’saa, and the yellow mages in general are pretty reminiscent of this too. I realize you p much already said this but I feel like people are getting defensive over it and wanted to add how I felt about an otherwise interesting game. Sorry if this was long.

First of all, there is no such thing as an ask being too long so jolt that down.

Secondly, I am so happy you mentioned the yellow mages cause many aspects of them make me go why. While O'saa is a well written character that avoided a lot of black stereotypes, the fact that he has yellow eyes really irked me. Everyone and their mother knows nowadays that people of color hate the yellow eyes cliche. The devs were so close. Why did they have to add that.

Also, incoming the "there's a bunch of different European empires but only one African country" cliche. Fear and Hunger can make so many gods and main characters but writing more than one nonwhite country is where they draw the line? I call bullshit.

Though I do find it funny how they made all of these fantasy earth adjustments but left Japan as Japan. Miro saw what fantasy writers to do Asia and he wanted none of that.
