poly!marauders who are mafia and the reader, their wife, is just casually reading a book while getting flirted on by one of the men who want to work with them and her husbands catch it and the man gets in so much trouble
“hello darling.” the voice wasn’t one you recognized, looking up from your book, seeing the man towering over you. one your husbands had invited over for a conference with a few others.
“hi.” you were starting to get uncomfortable, the door to the conference was still slightly open, and james always sat closet to it in case anything were to happen.
“what’s got you waiting out here?”
“my husbands.” you tried to shuffle away from the coach, trying to get up before he grabbed your upper arm.
“there’s no to run.” the way he made you smile was uneasy, and you were just praying james was listening to you closely enough to hear the commotion.
“can you let go, please.” you pleaded, wincing loudly when he tighten his grip.
“lovie?” james peeked his head out seeing the two of you, immediately storming out of the room towards the two of you.
“mr potter.” the main shook in fear, letting go of your arm, pushing you away from him.
you stumbled away, james quick enough to catch you. “go get pads and remmy.” he whispered in your ear sending you off.
“where do you get off on touching my wife?” james sneered.
“sir-i-i didn’t know.” his hands were starting to become sweaty.
“doesn’t make it any better.”
“there a problem here?” sirius came out, you and remus lingering by the doorway.
“yeah there is, this bloke thought it was a good idea to put his hands on y/n, i think it should be repaid.”
“lovely idea.” sirius smirked.

───────✧ 𓆩♡𓆪 ✧───────
you inhaled deeply as you carried the laundry basket up the stairs, your arms straining as it was a long walk from the downstairs laundry room all the way to sirius’ room which was on the second floor.
your heels clicking on the shiny wood flooring, it was of course always shiny since you were the one that mainly cleaned them.
ever since you started working for sirius the two other maids seemed to take advantage over your sweet and people pleasing nature, always asking you to do things they were assigned to do or simply noticed and didnt want to do it themselves but of course would take credit for your work. not only did they do this because you just didnt have it in you to say no to them and tell them to do their own damn work, they did it because they saw sirius’ lingering gazes on your figure that you didnt see.
it wasnt even two weeks before you heard the two women gossiping to each other that they suspected that you were secretly fucking sirius and thats how you got the job and thats why sirius seemed to request for you to do his laundry and was why you were allowed to clean his office. and as soon as the women would see you fake smiles fazed over their faces in an instant and their passive aggressive tone would activate.
at first their little gossiping kept you up at night, laying in bed not being able to sleep and just thinking about what they said. youve caught sirius watching you sometimes when you were cleaning his office so maybe that was why they came to that conclusion or maybe it was when sirius called you to his office when he got back home to take his shirt and clean it immediately since it was one of his favorites and he asked you to undo the buttons for him.
you opened sirius’ bedroom door, walking in and setting the laundry basket on his bed then going to shut the door.
coming back to the laundry basket, new sheets and pillow covers along with another smaller basket on top of the bedding with his some of his white button ups and ties, along with a couple of plain shirts.
taking the smaller basket and carrying it to his walk in wardrobe, flicking on its lights and sighing. it would be nice to have a walk in closet, though your clothes would take up only a rack or two along with four or five drawers.
you sat the basket on the ottoman, taking a look around, breathing in the clean smell before grabbing hangers from a shelf beside the light switch and bringing them to the ottoman.
hanging the shirts and folding the button ups neatly, placing them where you knew he wanted them. once you were done you carried the basket out before flicking the lights off and shutting the closet doors.
now you were onto stripping his bed and putting clean fresh sheets and pillow cases on then his black comforter. fixing his bed nicely then putting a softer fuzzy blanket at the bottom of his bed.
grabbing the baskets and leaving the room, you didnt like being in sirius’ space for too long; it felt nerve wracking and being in his office was worse maybe it was just because you barely knew what sirius did for work but most definitely knew it was bad. having to sign paper after paper saying that you would not tell people about anything youve saw or seen and sirius made it clear bad things would happen if you did; plus you couldnt tell people if you didnt know anything so you tried to keep away from listening in on things or gossiping with the other staff about sirius’ work and work partners.
you only knew three of sirius’ friends and work buddies since they were constantly together, pettigrew, potter and lupin those were the names you were familiar and heard on a regular basis from sirius’ mouth and had seen in person and you sometimes heard of a mckinnon and meadowes but didnt know the relation.
you remembered when sirius introduced you to them, calling you into his office as he sipped on alcohol while chatting with his friends and from then on out they were ones youd see come in and out of sirius’ place.
-
remus leaned his head back onto the back of the leather couch him and peter occupied, laughing at something james muttered out then dragging his cig to his mouth. “i’m telling you- lily was furious with me! wouldnt even let me hug harry til i got out of the shower” james laughed, shaking his head and running his hands through his hair.
“i wouldnt either, prongs youre the absolute worse at getting blood off you.” sirius said with a grin.
“i dont want to hear it! you have maids to do it for you!” james defended and pointed at sirius.
sirius laughed and threw his hands up in defeat. “speaking of maids—james—i have a new one. shes a beauty, so sweet and looks amazing in the uniform” sirius said smirking at james, making james to shake his head in response to the last bit.
“rob will you ask ms y/l/n to come here please” sirius said to the man that stood by sirius’ desk, “yes sir” rob answered and left the room to get you.
you were washing dishes when rob came to you, telling you sirius requested your presence in his office. you were hesitant and almost trembling when you got to his office door. you always got the feeling something bad was happening either getting fired or something worse.
you tried to walk in quietly but your heels clicked against the floor loudly. you picked at your nail polish behind your back. “sir?” you mumbled shyly.
sirius smiled, then looked back at you, “ms.y/l/n come, come. i was just telling my friends about you, so they get used to a new face around here” he said gesturing for you to come closer.
smiling as you got closer, giving the men a little wave when you felt that you were close enough.
-
walking back into the laundry room and putting the baskets on a shelf next to the other baskets. “y/n is that you?” you heard from the kitchen.
you smiled and made your way to the kitchen, the only sort “friend” you had was sirius’ chef; she was sweet and always told the other two maids off. “yes its me” you said with a soft laugh.
she smiled at you then went back to chopping onions, “heard you took maggie’s shift tonight” she said.
you huffed and leaned against the fridge, “jen, you know i cant say no, she cornered me by my car and asked me to” you whined and played with the hem on your skirt.
jen shook her head, “i promise if youd just snapped at them theyd stop running all over you.” jen said, looking at you with soft eyes then going back to cutting.
“i have tomorrow off so its fine, i wouldve just sat in bed all day if i got off at 8” you said trying to make light of the situation. jen waved her hands dismissively. “im sure they’ll talk about how you took her shift so you and sirius could you know” she added teasingly and sent a quick wink your way.
you laughed, jen had heard the two women gossiping and now constantly teased you about it. “i still can’t believe they keep saying that” you giggled out and made your way out of the kitchen.
-
hours passed, your knees ached as they rested on the hard wood floor. you were almost done getting the red from off the floor.
you had stumbled across the mess, broken glass from a vase that sat on a stand beside sirius’ office doors, the rug was moved and bunched up in places and a little pool of blood with little drops across the wood. you didnt ask, honestly didnt want to know what happened, you just knew youd have to clean it.
you got up, the blood was now cleaned up and the floor looked spotless. you put the two buckets to the side then wiped your brow, thinking of what to do next.
vacuum, thats what you needed, heading downstairs to the spot you knew the vacuum would be; except it wasn’t there.
groaning as now youd have to think of where you had put it. drumming your fingers on the washing machine as you tried to remember.
fuck—it was in sirius’ office, of course it was in his fucking office. no one was allowed in his office without him being there. you had left it in there earlier this morning after he asked you to get him a cup of coffee while you were in there cleaning then forgot about the vacuum.
it wouldnt hurt to just grab it right? just quickly grabbing it and leaving. so quick so that he wouldn’t see you, plus you were sure he was out, you hadnt seen him at all after you left his office this morning.
now you stood in front of his door, debating in your mind whether you should go in or just leave it. wiping your hands on your skirt and taking a deep breath.
opening the door and peeking in, it was dark and the only light that was on was a lamp on his desk. looking around the room, and spotting the vacuum by a bookshelf.
walking in, trying not to make noise. making your way to the vacuum. your plan was going perfectly, in and out.
you were almost to the door til the vacuum got stuck, you turned around, “god damn it” you whined quietly. a couple of loose threads from a rug had gotten stuck in its wheel. you tugged again, of course it was fucking stuck.
giving it one more tug, expecting it to not budge but the threads snapped and you stumbled back a bit, hitting his desk, papers that were at the edge of fell to the floor.
this is what you get for coming in here while youre not supposed to, its like everything in this room was out to get you. inhaling deeply before letting go of the vacuum and walking to the papers that were now scattered on the floor.
bending down and picking them up. you tried not read them but you couldnt help yourself, now standing with the papers only reading the page that was on top. furrowing your brows, you didnt understand it, the only thing you could grasp from it was that it was maybe about drugs and someone named evan rosier—whoever the fuck that was.
“snooping through my things are we?”
you froze, tears coming to your eyes, setting the papers on his desk. “no sir” you muttered, your lip quivering.
you could feel his presence behind you, “i-i” you started but was cut off by sirius. “look at me when youre talking to me” he said.
turning slowly, you put your hands behind your back. now making eye contact, sirius didn’t look angry or displeased that he found you in here.
tears filled your eyes, “dont cry darling” sirius whispered as he got closer to you. “take a deep breath,” he instructed and you listened, following him and taking a deep breath.
“there’s nothing to be afraid of darling” sirius added.
“mr. black im s’sorry, i left the vacuum in here— it got stuck and i pulled on it then knocked over your papers” you tried to explain, your words jumbling sometimes. you were becoming aware of how close he was, how handsome he was too.
sirius wasnt going admit he had seen the whole thing on the cameras in a room beside his office. sirius thought you were the cutest thing ever, always giving him a smile and wave if you passed him in the halls or whenever he asked you to do something you did it with a pretty smile on your face. sirius also thought it was cute when you were oblivious to his flirting.
“please dont fire me” you pleaded in a low whisper, sirius’ eyes softened. now this situation would be different if it wasn’t you, if it was someone else they wouldve been fired immediately just for breaking the rules of no one allowed in here if sirius wasn’t present or worse if they were looking through his papers.
“im not gonna fire you, get that thought out of your pretty head.” sirius reassured, his voice was soft and comforting. you took in his appearance as your nerves slowly calmed after hearing that sentence. his button up was untucked and a few buttons were unbuttoned and his pants were black along with his belt. you pressed your thighs together
sirius got closer and you backed up a bit, your ass hitting his desk. you looked up at him, “may i kiss you?” sirius asked, as glanced down at your lips.
you nodded and whispered yes, sirius leaned in, your lips and his lips touched softly.
sirius’ hands moved to rest on his desk, pulling away from the kiss just a bit “can i touch you?” he asked.
“yes sir” you said before his lips landed back onto yours, his hands moving your thighs. feeling the straps that held up your stockings, flicking it against your skin teasingly.
sirius pulled back again, “since you broke a rule, there’s a punishment that comes with. there’s a personal punishment or there’s a punishment we could discuss on monday” sirius said, waiting for you to pick.
“the personal punishment” you answered, looking up at him. you could feel your arousal and hoped the personal punishment would help you take care of it. sirius smirked.
“bend over the desk” sirius ordered, taking a step back from you. a small firework of pleasure popped from his words and your thighs pressing harshly together. you turned around and leaned over the desk; the side of your face pressed against the cold wood.
sirius walked towards you, muttering a soft “good girl” as he got closer. sirius took your hands and put them behind your back, “keep them there” he said sternly and you did.
you felt his hands go from the back of your thighs to your ass, pushing up your skirt as he went. sliding his fingers tips teasing under your panties. “ten spanks, thank you sir after each one. you understand that darling?” sirius asked.
“yes sir”
his hand came down hard on your ass, causing you to jolt and gasp softly. “one, thank you sir” you said trying to take your mind off the sting.
another smack happened and “two, thank you sir” followed.
after fifteen minutes you were on your last one, your ass was sore but sirius would try to sooth the pain by keeping his hand there after the smack.
“ten, thank you sir” you said, sirius massaged your ass as he whispered little praises.
“you did so good for me angel” he whispered as he unclipped your stockings from your garter belt then started to pull down your panties, sirius kissed down your left leg. feeling the drag of the fabric then his soft kisses after the fabric touched the areas was heavenly.
sirius kissed back up your leg after having you step out of your panties and putting the white lacey piece into his pocket. “you’re such a good girl for me” sirius praised, his erection straining in his pants and had been straining in his pants since he “caught” you in his office. he was surprised how you didn’t notice but grateful.
“turn for me” sirius said softly, lifting yourself off the desk and tuning to face him. sirius rested on his knees in front of you.
you leaned back resting on his desk. sirius ran his hands up your thighs then started placing kisses on your right knee, moving to your inner thigh. you opened your legs, your eyes pleading for him to use his mouth on you.
“please” you whined softly, sirius could’ve came at that, could’ve came from just seeing you like this even if he wasn’t the one doing this to you. he’d wanted to do this since you started working for him months ago and now it was finally happening.
sirius pushed up your skirt a bit before flatting his tongue and licking up your cunt. you shivered, humming in delight as your cunt finally got what it needed.
sirius’ tongue circled around your clit before sucking softly. his hands held your thighs apart, you moaned, your moved your hand to hold the edge of his desk but ended up knocking the papers onto the floor.
“fuck—“you whimpered, sirius’ tongue working wonders and you getting closer and closer with each swirl and suck. one of sirius’ hands left your thigh, bringing it to your cunt and now his middle finger teased your entrance.
there was a light knock at door, neither of you cared.
“mr.black a delivery is—“ tay started as she opened the door, the hallway lights coming in from the opened door and lighting up you and sirius. her mouth dropped as you moaned loudly as sirius pumped his fingers in and out of you. you made eye contact with tay. the one that started the gossiping and now the gossip just turned into a fact.
tay left quickly. you already knew the word would get to jen just as quick but you could think and deal with that later.
sirius stopped before you could cum, taking his mouth and fingers from you. you whined a soft “why?”.
“you’ll cum when i tell you to” sirius said as he got up.
leaning in and locking your lips with his, your hands moved to his dress shirt, unbuttoning it the rest of the way and pulling it off him.
sirius started trailing kisses down to your neck, his hands moving to your top. undoing the buttons on it and then moving his kissed to your tits, his left hand massaged your breast through your bra as his mouth bit and sucked on your right one.
lifting your tit out of the cup of bra so he could suck on your nipple.
your hands fiddled with sirius’ belt, finally getting it unbuckled. you palmed him through his dress pants.
sirius left your boobs and made his way back to your mouth. “i need you” you begged in the kiss.
“i know darling” sirius said softly, leaning back and looking at your hands on his clothed cock, he nodded his head giving you a signal to get his cock out.
“go on” sirius whispered, you moved the fabric down and let his cock spring out. you moved your hand on him, spreading his precum around his tip. sirius groaned, his core muscles tightening.
sirius guided you to lay back onto his desk, spreading your legs with his hand gently. he moved one hand to your cunt, rubbing gently on your clit making you quiver. sirius moved his from your cunt to his cock, guiding himself to slide through your folds and over your clit with his cock.
both of you moaned softly, sirius did this a few times before pushing his cock into you. sirius watched his cock spread you open as your back arched.
“you’re so-s’fucking big” you whimpered, his thumb moved to your clit, rubbing in circles.
sirius started to thrust back and forth slowly, building speed as he went. “you feel so good angel” sirius moaned.
your left leg was now over sirius’ shoulder as he thrusted in and out of you, your back was arched and your head was tossed back with your mouth agape letting out moans. sirius was saying sweet praises as he continued to fuck you, and the coil in your tummy tightened and tightened.
sirius was close too, you felt heavenly and your moans sounded heavenly. his thumb moved faster on your clit earning incoherent swears from you.
“please let me cum sir! im s’close” you begged, moving your head down so you could look at him. he looked beautiful.
“cum. be a good girl and fucking cum for me” sirius groaned, going faster. your body moving harshly against his desk.
“thank you sir!”
you shut your eye as the coil snapped, your legs shaking and you tossed your head back again and couldn’t help but let out moan after moan and whine after whine. after a few minutes your hand caught his wrist to take it of your clit, sirius helped you ride your orgasm out and then his own happened.
sirius’ cum painting your walls, your walls clenching around him—milking him of his cum. the sounds of deep breathing filling the room. you both taking your time to grasp what happened.
you whimpered as sirius pulled out of you slowly, watching his cum drip out of you. sirius reached to his drawers in his desk and pulled out some tissues to clean you up with.
sirius cleaned up what he could. you sat up, sirius kissed you softly then pulled your skirt down to cover you. “let’s get you a shower and some comfortable clothes, okay princess?” he said, hoping you had no intention to go home to your apartment.
you nodded and hummed a quick “mhm”, sirius fixed himself into pants then went to help you button up some of the buttons on your shirt so no one would see your bra, then helping you fix your skirt. you left the stockings alone not bothering to mess with the garter belt. sirius picked up your shoes and his shirt and walked you out of his office to his bedroom.

mafia sirius x reader, they’re at a club meeting some people about something and he gets over protective. heavy dom sirius.
You walk into the club with Sirius’s hand placed tightly around your waist, feeling like your on top of the world. Sirius puts on his notorious stone cold face as he walks toward the vip section. Greeting the men with a string handshake he offers you to go and get a drink while he chats with the men.
Sitting down at the elegant styled bar and politely ushering the bartender over, you ask for a surprise obviously in a very good mood today. When the bartender asked you what drink would you like you said surprise me, making the man on your left raise his eyebrow in interest.
“Someone likes surprises” he jokes light heartedly. He’s tall, not as tall as Sirius but still tall. Green eyes and slicked back hair he bites his lip softly as a smirk dances on his lips. You smile at the man and take a sip of the drink placed in front of you telling the bartender to put it on Sirius’s tab.
The man bravely adjusts his place on the stool to sit closer to you. “What’s your name darling?” His question made you nervous, moving your thigh an inch more away from his you shake you head. “What’s the big deal? Can’t a good guy just talk to a pretty girl like you?” He says in a much more attitude filled tone then the last time he said something to you.
Sirius watches the man higher his voice to you. His grey eyes squinting just a bit before excusing himself to get another drink. Walking towards your place at the bar he snakes his hand around your waist once again placing a kiss on your cheek. “Hey doll this man bothering you?” He says directing his eyes contact to the wide eyed man next to you.
“No! so sorry sir, my apologies” the man says quickly leaving his drink discarded and walks away. “Thank you Siri” sirius chuckles placing a kiss on your neck. “Course love, it’s my job to protect you”

The Drink Snob (part 4)
mafia au!Remus Lupin x fem!reader - 3k
p1 // p2 // p3 // p4
You stood on the sidewalk staring dumbly at the sign that hung above the door of the restaurant - La Luna – with a list of references under your arm.
You’d thought long and hard about showing up today, and you weren’t sure which part of you was the part that won. Was it the part of you who saw things through? The part of you who had a lovely conversation with a motherly sounding woman on the phone and had promised her you’d be here? Was it the part of you who sort of wanted to see The Man™ again? Or was it the part of you who didn’t like being told what to do?
You supposed it didn’t much matter now which part of you won, seeing as it found you here.
Now you just had to make it inside the restaurant...which should be easy...seeing as you had two functioning legs...so why the hell aren’t they moving?
Maybe this was a bad idea, maybe you shouldn’t have come. Who voluntarily works for a criminal? Or at least for a criminal’s mother. He’s proven to you that he’s nothing but trouble.
What if it was the good kind of trouble? The kind that led to fun banter and teasing remarks. The kind that made life more exciting and adventurous. The kind that made him really fun in bed.
Stop it.
He wasn’t the good kind of trouble. He was a criminal. Just because he stopped one guy from drugging you doesn’t mean he’s any better than him. Just because he spent hours with you at a bar listening to you lament about your life. Just because he took the opportunity to warn you about his mother’s restaurant. Just because he seemed to give a damn about you...
No, that was wishful thinking.
You shouldn’t be here.
Your option to leave was taken from you, however, when a man exciting the restaurant paused to hold the door open for you.
Fuck it.
You thanked the man and squared your shoulders as you entered the restaurant.
It was fairly quiet inside, which you supposed made sense seeing as it didn’t open until 4pm. There were some serving staff behind the bar readying glassware and silverware for the evening, and a few men moving a large piece of furniture covered with a moving blanket to the corner of the restaurant.
“No fucking way. You came!” A voice called. You turned to see the same curly haired man from the restaurant the night that The Man™ saved you from Tan. He was smiling widely at you as if the two of you were old friends that hadn’t seen each other in years.
“Uhm...me?” you asked dumbly. Kill me now.
The man just laughed as he approached you and gave you a bone crushing hug. “Yeah you! You’re The Girl.”
“The girl?” You muttered as you stepped away from the overly affectionate man.
“James, step away from the girl; she doesn’t even know you.” A shorter man with black hair and silver eyes said as he smiled politely at you. “Sorry about him. He’s mostly harmless, just an idiot.”
The man...James...beamed at you as if his friend hadn’t just insulted him.
“I’m James, this is my boyfriend Regulus.” James introduced finally.
“It’s nice to meet you.” You said as you gave him your name in turn.
“Oh, we know.” Another man said as he entered the dining area. He looked startlingly similar to Regulus, though his hair was quite a bit longer and he was littered with tattoos and silver jewelry. He was also accompanied by The Man™.
“Don’t be fucking weird.” The Man™ muttered to his companion.
“Sorry Moons, no can do.” He said salaciously as he waltzed his way over to you extending his hand. “The names Sirius, doll. So glad I finally get to meet you.” He said with a wink.
You choked on a laugh.
“Fucking hell. You’re unbelievable.” You said instead of hello.
“Thank you!” He beamed, puffing his chest not unlike a peacock.
“That wasn’t a compliment...”
James barked a laugh. “Oh Moony, can we keep her?” He said as he wiped a fake tear from under his eye.
“You’re name’s Moony?” You asked incredulously.
The Man’s murderous glare softened as he looked from James to you. “One of them.”
“The sods name is Remus, dollface. Don’t mind him, he’s emotionally constipated.” Sirius interjected.
“Sirius!” Remus chastised from across the room.
“What is goi-oh! You must be Y/N!” A lovely woman exclaimed as she made her way into the dining hall. “I was wondering what had my boys so rowdy.”
You flushed under the insinuation and extended your hand quickly.
“You must be Hope. It’s nice to meet you; I’m terribly sorry if you’ve been waiting on me.”
The woman waved you off and threw a sarcastic glance over her shoulder. “Oh, I’m not fussed. It’s hard to get almost anything done with this lot ‘round. Come, leave the boys to their folly.” She said as she ushered you down the hall.
“Those are your boys?” You asked as the two of you made your way to what looked to be Hope’s office.
“Yes! Well, technically just Remus. But they’re a package deal, those boys.” She said with the fondness only a mother could manage. It made your heart hurt.
“I suppose that’s an important quality...in his line of work.” You offered. You chose to attend the interview regardless, but it was important for you to understand exactly what was expected of you here.
Hope looked at you with a knowing glint in her eye as she sat at her desk, seeming to size you up. “Yes, I suppose so.”
She pulled out some papers and you placed your references in front of you.
“So, what kind of questions do you have for me?” She asked casually.
You felt your eyebrows furrow as you calculated her question; you’d never been asked that at the beginning of an interview before.
“Erm, I... well I guess I’d like to know a little more about what the job entails.”
Hope smiled widely at you – you could see now where Remus got his dimples from.
“Well, we were looking for someone who had a license to serve liquor, perhaps to help with serving and bussing tables. But really what I’m most excited about is your music.”
“My music?” You asked quietly.
“Oh yes.” Hope offered enthusiastically. “I’ve always wanted live music here, but we’ve never had anyone to do that! I must admit, I looked you up after I received your CV – you’re very talented.”
“Oh, god.” You murmured as you felt you face heat in embarrassment. “I’ve really only played with orchestra’s – I’m not sure that’s an example of any talent.”
“Hm, and modest too. Tell me, do you make it a habit of downplaying your worth?”
You felt like you’d been slapped.
“Because you shouldn’t. You ought to be proud; I sure am.” She carried on like she hadn’t just rocked your world. You cleared your throat and tried to fight against the tears clamoring their way to the surface.
“As for...this line of work.” Hope carried on, emphasizing your phrasing regarding Remus’ job. “This is indeed a restaurant. We deal with mostly restaurant matters. Some of our patrons may be...more colourful than average, and we may see the boys come and go from time-to-time, but there’s nothing you’d need to be concerned about.”
You nodded, a little stunned by the speed of this conversation, but feeling like you got the gist.
Restaurant. Shady business behind the scenes. Nothing for you to worry about.
Good enough.
“Look. You’ve worked at bars in some of the largest cities in North America – that tells me you work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. You’ve worked with orchestras across the continent as well, which tells me you work well in a team environment. You’re working towards your doctorate which tells me you’re dedicated and hard working. You’re an ideal candidate, Y/N.”
Remus was right – how does one say no to Hope Lupin?
“Do you work well in a team?” She asked plainly.
“Yes.”
“Do you work well under pressure?”
“Sure.”
“How’s your right hook?”
You laughed. “Not bad? I guess...I’ve not had to use it much if I’m being honest.”
Hope shrugged her shoulders. “We can work on that.”
You laughed again before taking a deep breath. “Okay. Alright, well...whatever you need then.”
Hope smiled. “You’ll play for us?”
You grimaced but shifted it to a smile. “There’s no saying no to you, is there?”
Hope beamed. “And you’re a quick learned. Excellent! Come with me.” She called as she stood and marched out of her office.
You followed her obediently back out to the dining hall where James, Remus, Sirius, and Regulus were still loitering – each having taken a seat at a different table. And that large piece of furniture they’d been moving in when you arrived? It was a piano.
It was a Concert A 192 Bechstein grand piano.
It was a brand-new Concert A 192 Bechstein grand piano.
You thought you were going to faint. These pianos were not cheap.
“Think this will work for you? I’m sure we could swap it for something else if needed.” Hope commented as she moved towards the piano.
“You got this...for me?” You murmured. Hope smiled at you but bit it back when she saw the emotion on your face.
“Well, we got it for the restaurant. If you need something else though, we can likely exchange it.”
She was interrupted by a scoff from Sirius. “I am not breaking my back dragging that thing back out of here again, mummykins.”
“You’ll damn well do whatever the hell I tell you too, bubs.” She shot back.
Sirius conceded immediately. “Absolutely. Whatever you want mum.”
“So, are you gonna play us something?” James interjected.
“Now?” You asked apprehensively.
“Well, someone’s gotta test it out.” He shrugged. “They tuned it at the store but said it might shift slightly during the move.”
You hummed in acknowledgement but made no move to sit at the piano. James sighed dramatically and stood from his seat.
“Fine. I’ll do it myself.”
Regulus groaned and brought his hands up to his ears as his boyfriend sat at the piano with a flourish, cracking his knuckles, and began pressing keys at random.
Sirius bobbed his head in encouragement as if what James was currently producing could be considered music. Regulus banged his head against the table with his ears still covered, and Remus shook his head with a grimace.
“Okay, okay! Oh, you poor thing what has he done to you?” You cooed at the piano as you swatted James’ hands away.
“Uhm, I was playing it. Duh.” He muttered as he stood from the bench.
“That was a crime, is what it was. This piano is a work of art – it costs as much as a bungalow in America.” You said as you sat at the bench, staring at the keys in awe.
You’ve played some pretty spectacular instruments throughout your life; the New York Philharmonic certainly provided for their pianist, no holds barred. But those were instruments you had to give back once you finished playing with them. Granted, this belonged to the restaurant, but...it was here for you to play.
“What are you going to play us?” Remus asked quietly.
You turned your head to him, surprised out of your musings, to find him looking at you softly.
“Any requests?” You asked the room.
“James’ knowledge of music that one can play on a piano expands no further than heart and soul, dollface. Don’t ask us.” Sirius smirked as he dodged a swat that James sent his way with an indignant squawk.
“You’re the expert.” Hope encouraged you from the side of the room.
You took a deep breath and turned back to the piano. You felt horribly exposed; no orchestra to hide behind, all eyes on you. Make it count.
You opted for a piece you’ve played an unholy amount of times.
It was your mother’s favourite.
It wasn’t anything particularly difficult or challenging; it was not a technical piece in the slightest. But something about it spoke to you.
It felt like sitting in a sunroom on a rainy day and watching beads of raindrops race down the panes of glass. It felt like the sun peeking out from behind the clouds after days of overcast skies. It felt like a hug from your mom.
Turns out, it sounded even more beautiful on a Bechstein.
The last few notes echoed through the predominantly quiet restaurant as you stared down at the keys.
“What’s that called?” Remus asked quietly.
You looked over at him to find that same soft look on his face.
“It’s called Sorrisi.”
“What language is that?” James asked.
“Italian, I believe.”
“What does it mean?” Sirius interjected.
You smirked before responding. “I believe it translates to I smiled.”
Tumblr media
Remus watched as you seemed to shake yourself out of some sort of reverie. The piece was simple, but it was deep. Remus swore he could see years of memories and feelings oozing out of your shoulders as your hands danced across the keys.
And he wasn’t the only one. He could tell his mum was crying – most people wouldn’t have likely noticed, thinking she was just farsighted - but he knew that she only ever removed her glasses from her face if she was tearing up.
And then you had to go and act all bashful like you hadn’t just moved the room to tears with a few simple notes. Like you had no idea how wonderful you were. How beautiful you were.
Remus was fucked.
Here's the song you played for (Remus) the boys and Hope 🥰

today is multiverse monday! send me any au you can think of :)
this post is 18+, minors dni.
You're too preoccupied with reapplying your lip gloss between rounds that you don't notice Remus stuffing cards into his sleeve. James is hand-feeding you chex mix, hovering his hand over your mouth and dropping pretzels and peanuts and crackers into your mouth as messily as possible, so that your lips pucker around his fingers and your tongue lavs over his skin to get the cheese dust off. In doing so, all of your gloss is shiny on his skin, and you have to layer on a new coat.
"Alright, sweetheart," Sirius checks to be sure Remus has the cards he needs, "How are you feeling this round?"
You peer at your cards, and a frown slips over your features. You've never been good at poker faces.
"Um," You deliberate, glancing up at the pot, 'I'll... raise."
"Two layers?" Sirius raises an eyebrow, "You sure, angel?"
"Mhm," You nod, confident that you've thrown them off for now, "Two layers."
When you reveal your cards, Remus wins. You swear he's magic or something, he always seems to have perfect hands. Your shoulders slump as you reach for your jacket's zipper, "Do I have to? It'll be cold."
"You raised," James chides, watching with rapt attention as you peel away your jacket and begin unbuttoning your shirt, "Don't start something you can't finish, love."

with a feeling (poly!prongsfoot x reader | mafia au)
Tumblr media
“You’ve missed me, baby?” James asks with a bright smile, both hands firmly gripping the steering wheel as he speaks to you through the car console.
“More than anything, Jamie.” You answer back immediately, and though he’s focusing primarily on the road, he can see from a quick glance at the screen how you’re currently sprawled out on your stomach in bed. Your soft cheek resting against the backs of your hands, cutely pouting at the camera as you mentally urge your boyfriends to return home as quickly and safely as possible.
“What about Sirius, hun?” James asks with a cheeky grin, sparing a glance towards the man currently riding in the passenger’s seat, knowing full well the response he’s going to get.
“What about him?” You ask in a considerably different tone, your voice bordering indifferent as you turn your attention to your nails. Acting as though those shimmering, opaque gel polished digits were significantly more interesting in comparison to the new topic of discussion.
That’s all it was in the end however- a long-standing game of pretend that existed between Sirius and yourself since the day the two of you laid eyes on one another. A teasing charade which masked caring carasses as tugging fistfuls of hair, and transforming fleeting kisses into prominent bites and bright red hickeys.
From an outsider’s perspective, the two of you were united on some semblance of a common ground- appearing intimidating, judgemental but breathtakingly beautiful in each other’s silent company.
And to friends, you behaved quite differently. A bickering, arguing duo who could rarely get through a single conversation without it coming to empty insults.
But to James, he alone got to see you as you truly were- learning your past and how you met Sirius before you’d known the faces, or names of any of the other Marauders. A particularly peculiar, but intimate love story in its own right.
“Did you miss him?” He answers, deciding to humor your game as he did more often than not.
“I suppose I noticed it was significantly quieter than usual, without a particular loudmouth running around in the house.” James chuckles at your response as Sirius huffs indignantly, glaring icily at the screen before an idea comes to mind and he’s suddenly wearing a faint mischievous smirk.
“That’s very funny, kitten.” Sirius responds, slipping a strand of hair behind his ear as he leans back against the leather seat. “You know I’ve been meaning to ask if you enjoyed your three weeks of solitude. But then, I remembered that you were left with nothing to fuck but a few silicone cocks and those tiny fingers of yours. And I can’t imagine that anyone would’ve been able to make the most of that situation. Can’t say I had any trouble like that however.” He finishes, and you know he’s referring to having James to fuck when the need or interest inevitably arose.
Sinking your teeth into your bottom lip, you don’t bother to answer because he’s right, and you hate it. Choosing to silently glower into the camera as he stared back smugly.
“Is that true, sweetheart?” James chimes in, a bit of pity apparent in his tone as he mulls over the mental image of you laying prettily on your back. Attempting and failing to replicate even an eighth of the pleasure and fervor you’d grown accustomed to receiving during sex. “You weren’t able to come as hard as you’d like, baby?”
If that sentence had come from Sirius, you would have thrown the darkest glare you could’ve physically managed. Would’ve probably flipped him off and ignored anything he’d said for the remainder of the call. But it’d come from sweet James, who you knew felt genuine sympathy at the thought of you experiencing even as minor an inconvenience as that during, and due to, his absence.
“No, I wasn’t able to.” You answer quietly, pointedly not looking in Sirius’ direction.
“We’ll make up for that, honey. I promise.”
This scenario now has a blurb series based on it! Pt. I, Pt. II

james and sirius hold the guy up as remus keeps your shaky hand still, cooing in your ear as he puts his finger on yours and pulls the trigger.
you start sobbing when the noise of the gunshot fills the air and your body’s pushed back by the impact. blood lands in your mouth, the thick, metallic liquid pooling on your tongue as you refuse to swallow. james and sirius let him fall to the floor as they shake off their hands and sirius runs a hand through his silky hair, eyes trailing down your blood splattered body. remus takes the gun from you before you can drop it, shoving it into his waistband as he kisses you, forcing you to swallow the mixture of your bloody spit and his.
you bury your head into james’ chest as he approaches you and hugs you, praising you as sirius settles behind you, pushing your hair to the side so he can kiss your neck, lapping at the blood drying there. james’ hands join sirius’ in roaming your body as he tilts his head to kiss you, rough fingers tickling your waist as he lifts your shirt.
“y’did so well, baby,” remus murmurs beside you, “want us to show you how well?”

Mafia marauders picking you up from the police station because you and lily stole the McDonald’s sign after you went clubbing
as much as they hate the police, they're on speed dial because of you.
it wouldn't be normal for them not to call once a month whenever you had a girls night that ended to far, all of you too drunk and end up do something stupid.
"on the way." remus just sighed into the phone, calling out for james and sirius, who were already waiting in the garage.
coming into the station, they could already hear the two of you giggling.
seeing the familar yellow M in the corner, sirius just looked over at the office who nodded, confirming his thoughts.
"jamie!" you smiled, running into the arms of your husband, james catching you easily, while giving lily a smile.
"really?" sirius looked at the two of you, remus already occupied getting the two of you out, "a mcdonald's sign, how did you even get it down."
the two of you just looked at each other before laughing. the three men just sighed, standing behind the two of you as the two of you had your arms wrapped around each other, stumbling out of the station.

You half expected them to be waiting for you, ready with the full set of questions they usually have you run through, your mom with James, your dad with you, conveniently working to your advantage even though they’ve yet to figure that out. Your mother always got James to squeal, just the right amount of pressure and he’d sing like a bird, his own praises of course, some pile of lies about how he saved the day, made it all work out to his good without the real details, which you’d fill up for him with your dad, despite the knock to your own pride. However, the palace was eerily quiet when you and Lily arrived, the staff at hand and ready as always but your parents weren’t waiting in the dining room after you’d trekked your way there, James was eating alone, the table set yet empty still but there was some food missing from what would’ve been their plates.
“Look at you, home just in time for your warm welcome,” he spoke over a nearly empty glass of wine, messily setting the glass down next to his plate. “How’d you do it, little sister?” it was a slurred question, one he’d probably been pondering since you left and you were ready as always too, prepared with a line-up of stories fit for the situation but your curiosity got the better of you, you wanted this conversation to end quickly and find them soon after. Whatever they’re flawed parental endeavours, your parents were torturously insistent on having dinner together every night it was possible, especially after long trips away from their children, especially after a crisis.
“Regulus,” the easiest lie, also the one that prompted the least number of questions, you didn’t expect him to scoff, didn’t expect him to smirk at you either and you were just about to question that when you heard the man in question’s voice, followed only by your father’s.
“I heard my name,” Regulus looked as handsome as ever, more so in his uniform than you remember from growing up and mostly just seeing him prancing around in a loose shirt and jeans, your dad was smiling so brightly you’d think he hasn’t seen him in ages though really you all saw him the day they left, still you believe age was making him softer than before, you’d never tell him that. Regulus smiled over at you as well, his face distorted momentarily as your dad forced you into a hug, a quick kiss placed to your cheek as you just barely caught the little nod that Regulus gave you, it said enough, it promised that Sirius came through in more ways than one. “Good to see you again, Princess, heard my friend helped you out,” Your dad didn’t let go, didn’t ask for confirmation either but you knew if your mother was around that wouldn’t be the case.
“I’m sorry I’m late, I got stuck in traffic on the way back- can’t believe you beat me home,” you lied, gripped your dad’s waist as one last welcome home before he let you go and drifted right back to Regulus’ side. “And all of you at that, actually, where’s mom?” you had to wonder if Regulus had caught her up yet too or was that your task to do.
“She’s waiting for you in the kitchen,” Your dad wasn’t one to pretend he didn’t know she spent the whole time away simply waiting to be back to gossiping and eating the night’s dessert right from the fridge before the boys got to it, the only little bit of royal rebellion she had left in her after all this time. “Leave some for the rest of us, won’t you,” he joked, and you smiled, a familiar thing, it felt good having them home after all, despite the drama and the lies that was ahead of you.
“Actually, can I have a word with you first?” the question was for you but it was aimed at your dad still, he nodded, didn’t think much of it really, mumbled something about having the server set up some new plates for him and Regulus who took hold of your arm gently to guide you as far away from curious ears as he could without looking suspicious. “What were you thinking?”
Honestly you should’ve expected him to push back, even if you were the one to set up the agreement between Regulus and Sirius, Regulus was very serious about never speaking to him alone, without protection- had he only known how common that was, how many nights you’d snuck off right into danger without a single consideration about what might go wrong. It started out as a deal for peace and peace was definitely still the goal, but there was something intriguing about Sirius, about a man brought up in the role of his family, no choice, not really and somehow there still seemed to be so much more to him, behind the title and the danger and the threat of his very being. Maybe you related to him in the most mundane way, carrying a burden that was yours way before you were even born, fighting a battle that was started even long before that.
“Oh, don’t start, alright, Lily was with me, and we were careful,” you checked the door, made sure he closed it properly just in case your whispered words weren’t soft enough. “You being here, saying that to my dad, that’s more cause for suspicion than anything else,” you were right, he knew that too, and logic couldn’t explain why he said what he said, he just wanted to show you that he knew, show you that he was unhappy being cut out when you were only ever supposed to be the one in the middle.
“I’m sorry,” he pulled a hand through his hair, rolled his eyes into the air as if annoyed with himself, for a man who taught you to think through every action, every word, he wasn’t doing a very good job living by that. “Listen, I don’t like the idea of you being too comfortable around him, around his people- he’s helping us now, but don’t confuse his willingness for alliance.”
“I know,” you did, so why you were annoyed at hearing it was beyond you. “He’s a means to an end, Regulus, I know that and so does he- I needed help, he was willing to provide that, don’t confuse my ability to play at your game for naivety.”
You caught him on that and there was more to be said but your mother was calling for you, your brother was hallway through another drunken rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody sung at the top of his lungs and your phone was burning a hole in your pocket, begging you to text the very person you swore you could not care less about.
“If your mother finds out now, before we’re ready, it’ll ruin everything, we’ll cause a war.”
“And if she finds out you’re the one making me hide it from her, there will be much more than a war for you to worry about,” you had grown tired of this conversation, wanted to be anywhere else. “Goodnight, Regulus, it was good seeing you again, but we have a system for these types of conversations, don’t bring this up in the palace again.”
Fresh off what anyone would consider a victory, you were more annoyed than relieved, there was something to be said about being a powerful woman in this family. Your mother had taken a crown meant only for her corrupt father and built a country up from ruin, ended the reign of the mafia threatening to destroy the entire monarchy and she’d done so while raising two children and facing the constant ridicule of marrying her military advisor and still- beyond all logic, woman still had to earn their place in this palace. It was frustrating, the only person who’d yet to question your abilities was Sirius Black, the very man you should stay as far away from as possible.
“There’s my girl,” you’d found your mom crossed legged on the counter, she was about as far away from a royal example as you could get, yet still she never looked out of place, even with remnants of chocolate pudding smudged on her chin and your father’s dress shirt thrown over her sleep pants way before it would be acceptable for the staff to see her as such.
“Mom,” she opened her arms for a hug, one hand balancing her bowl, the other taking you into her chest just like she did when you were a kid and you laughed lightly at the sight of her, used the sleeve of your shirt to wipe her face, earning a warm smile from her lips as well. “I’m glad you’re home safe,” what else could you say, truly it wasn’t the first time your parents had disappeared without a word or warning, and you considered it might not be the last, while you considered your future, they were still putting out fires from other parts of their past.  “We missed you.”
“I hear James saved the day,” you both scoffed at the same time, laughed because of it, of course she’d never fall for the pretty tales told in her absence, if only she knew. You slipped onto the counter with her, took the extra spoon she offered and scooped a large bite from her bowl. “Thank you,” you hummed around your spoon, shrugged it off quickly, as much as it did your ego good, you didn’t want her to create an opportunity for you to lie to her. “Your dad and I are very proud, you know, can’t imagine it was easy having to deal with this mess just the two of you.”
“Well, I mean we had help.”
“Regulus, of course,” she wasn’t technically wrong so you saw no reason to try and correct her. “Well still, dove, you were very brave,” the words sent your mind adrift and as if his ears were burning all the way across town your phone vibrated in your pocket, two times, just like you’d set it to and while she was reaching over the counter for some more sprinkles you couldn’t help stealing a glance to see what it said. “Think your dad would want some cherries with his?” you nodded, hummed, you’d think you were entirely focused on her but really you were going over the sentence a few more times in your head.
From Padfoot:  Glad you got home safe, little bird, I’ll let you know how I’m planning to collect my debt soon.

Your uniform was long gone, practically torn off you once the three of you got started. Your stockings had ladders running up them. Sirius’ breath tickled your neck as was holding your waist, Remus' hands on your thighs as he thrust up into cunt while Sirius was thrust into your ass, both of them filling you up so much it was almost too much but you couldn't help but beg for more.
Your hands planted on Remus’ chest as you could barely hold yourself up.
“Aint she just the best girl” Sirius praised, he eyed Remus and watched him smile. His and Remus’ relationship was complicated but it was a relationship nonetheless and you were a part of it, going from a person that worked for Sirius to a partner in their relationship.
“Absolutely, Been so good for us lately while we're busy” Remus cooed, one hand leaving your thigh and going up your torso to your boobs. You mewled and your head went back onto Sirius’ shoulder. Your eyes squeezed shut and your mouth opened. Sirius’ skin was so hot against yours and you could barely focus, every thrust from Remus would hit a sweet spot and stimulate your clit over and over.
Your thighs trembled and you clenched around both of them. “Whos our good girl” Sirius cooed in your ear.
“I am” you whimpered. The sensation of both of them being in you was almost too hard to handle but it felt so good.
“Wow look at that she can still comprehend” Remus quipped, making Sirius laugh.
“Barely, just a bit more then she’ll be fucked dumb” Sirius replied.

Business dinner~ mafia!Marauders

“I want you to stay close to me at all times mkay bunny?” Remus asked you softly. You nodded your head holding up your arms signaling you want to be picked up.
He chuckled before effortlessly picking you up.
Whenever you all left the house they always make sure your remember the three rules:
Don’t go out of sight
Don’t talk to anybody or anyone
Always say when your scared or uncomfy
“Alright the cars outside. let’s go” James said before pressing a kiss on your cheek.
You giggled at his action holding your bunny close.
You all were currently on your way to a reservation at le secret which is a very fancy French restaurant. You know that because you daddies told you yesterday when you were about to take a nap.
“Who’s gonna be at da mee’ing daddy?” You asked James curiously. “Just Regulus love” he replied running his fingers along the bottom hem of your pretty little sundress.
“Yeah and his stupid assistant” Sirius chimed in, his tattoo covered hands grasping the steering wheel.
“Eyes on the road.” Remus scolded him. Sirius rolled his eyes moving his eyes from your figure to the green street light.
Your eyes haven’t moved form Sirius’s hands gripping the wheel. You’ve always found his hands so pretty especially when he wears his metal rings, which he always does.
“You have pretty hands Siri” you complimented him causing him to smirk. His hands were your favorite part of him because of the black wolf tattooed on his hand.
“Thank you princess” he said, earning a shy smile from you.
“We’re here” James pointed out. You all got out of the car and began walking surrounded by two bodyguards.
You held onto Remus’s hand noticing his smile turned into a intimidating frown.
You looked over to James seeing that he’s doing the same thing looking back and forth as well.
The two body guards opened the doors of the restaurant. Your eyes widened as you saw your daddies favorite business partner, Regulus Arcturus Black.
“Reggie!” You exclaimed letting go of Remus’s hand and racing towards the tall curly headed man. Regulus chuckled bending down to give you a hug.
“Hey tiny, Sirius, James, Remus” he greeted them as they all shook hands.
“Hello, reservation for regulus?” The waitress said nervously. Regulus nodded as you all followed the waitress to the large booth.
“Thank you doll” regulus complimented giving her a wink before sitting down. She blushed crimson before bowing slightly and walking away.
Sirius chuckled at his brothers antics. “You’ve always been quite the flirt haven’t you regulus?” “What can I say? I don’t have a sweet girl to keep me company like you all do” regulus said giving you wink.
You giggled at his action causing him to chuckle. “Now, why have you brought us here?” James asked curiously earning regulus’s attention.
“More importantly, why is tiny here? Thought you guys didn’t want her hearing about this type of stuff” regulus said matter of factly.
“She’s feeling extra little today” remus replied before signaling the bodyguard by his side to come over. The bodyguard nodded handing him a pair of expensive noise canceling headphones.
Regulus nodded as Sirius put the headphone on you. You hummed at the soft music playing instantly relaxing to the calming beat.
“Lucius is gaining information about our plan.” Regulus said taking a swig of whiskey. “What. How?” Sirius said turning his attention to his younger brother.
“Most likely one of your men. So I suggest you keep your eyes pealed.” Regulus replied sternly. James nodded his jaw tightening.
“Alright. The next meeting will be at your house then unless you want to host it at ours.” Remus suggested causing regulus to tut.
“My house. You guys are a target. And bring tiny. I don’t suggest her being alone. Especially because we don’t know which of your guys have been leaking information.”
“Are you not a target as well? I thought you weren’t on great terms with Lucius as well” Sirius said taking a swig of whiskey.
“Me and Lucius sort of made “amends” I guess you could say. Which is why we have an upper hand. If I make him think were partners then I could figure out how much he knows” regulus clarified.
The meeting went on 45 more minutes until regulus’s phone rang. He checked the caller id scoffing once he saw who was calling him. “I’m sorry but I have to go. It was nice seeing you all.” Regulus excused himself.
“Good bye brother see you on Saturday.” Sirius said giving regulus a firm hug. Regulus shook hands with James and Remus thanking them for the visit.
You waved bye and he waved as well giving you a warm smile before walking to the exit.
“Cmon pretty, time to go home” Remus said making you grin.

The Drink Snob (part 3)
mafia au!Remus Lupin x fem!reader - 3.1k
p1 // p2 // p3 // p4
CW: attempted drink tampering, attempted human trafficking, a lot of swearing because it's Remus and reader (obviously)
Synopsis: You take Elle's advice, Remus returns the favour.
You waited at the end of the counter for your mocha to be called through the café. You were feeling pretty good about yourself; you had an interview lined up at a nice restaurant at the end of this week, you’d guest lectured for Minerva and got great feedback from both her and the students, and you’d found time to facetime Elle twice more.
The café was fairly busy with a fair number of students trying to get their caffeine fix between classes. The barista apologized to you for the wait, but you waved him off; “I’m not in any rush right now, take your time.” You had said to him.
“That was quite polite of you.” A voice to your right commented.
You turned and raised your eyebrow at the dark-haired man. His hair was an array of curls pulled back into a low bun, and he kept his onyx gaze fixed on you.
“And that surprises you?”
He smirked at you. “From a yank? I’d have to say a little.”
“Right,” You scoffed, “I’m not American.”
He looked at you strangely at that. “You sound like an American.”
“Maybe I’m just practicing for a part.” You shot back.
He hummed in response. “A budding actress, hm?”
Before you could respond, your name was called at the counter.
“Peppermint mocha for Y/N!”
You picked up your cup and turned back to the man. “As nice as this was, I have to take my leave.”
“Come to dinner with me.” He interjected quickly. You stared at him incredulously.
“I’m sorry?”
“Come on, I want to hear more about this budding acting career of yours.” He said as he winked.
Your immediate thought was hell no. But then you thought of The Man ™ from the pub last week, and how surprising and nice it was to finally connect with someone. Wasn’t this exactly what Elle was saying you should be doing? It went against every part of your better judgement, but this opportunity had been placed in front of you twice, were you really in any position to ignore it?
“What’s your name?” You asked. You were met with a victorious smile.
“Tan.”
You considered him for a moment.
“Fine, one dinner.”
He clapped his hands together. “Wonderful, how about tonight? There’s a Spanish fusion restaurant that just opened downtown that I’ve been dying to try. I could pick you up. Say 7?”
You looked the man up and down; you may be stepping out of your comfort zone agreeing to a date with a stranger you met at a coffee shop, but you weren’t suicidal.
“I’ll meet you there.” You offered. Tan seemed to deflate a little, but the emotion passed quickly over his face.
He gave you the address and then actually kissed you on the hand before you turned and exited the café.
Were all Brit’s this bold? Was this just an English thing? You walked back to the faculty building hoping this was a meet cute opportunity you could tell Elle about.

“It’s kinda smart, really.” James commented, taking another drink from his water.
“What is?” Remus asked, not looking up from the salad he was pushing around on the plate in front of him.
“Scouting near the universities.”
Remus looked up at his mate then, his black hair as wild as ever as he pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. His knee was bouncing under the table, and Remus knew he was just trying to make conversation while they waited for Lestrange to make his appearance, but James could be so thick sometimes.
“Yes, James. It’s almost as if the traffickers have a method that they follow to find young women they can pick up.” Remus muttered quietly, finally shifting his gaze up to the door.
“Sorry.” James muttered as he ran his hand through his hair again. “I just hate waiting.”
Remus chuckled. “I can tell.”
James made it through at least a minute and a half of silence before Remus finally took pity on him. “Harry’s so close to walking now, eh?”
James’ face lit up as he began a long tangent of his son’s different methods of movement which ranged from scooting, crawling, shifting, and rolling. “And Moony, yesterday he stood at the coffee table and walked around it all by himself! He was holding the coffee table, but still!”
Remus smiled at his friend’s happiness just as he noticed their target entering the building.
“He’s here.” Remus muttered into his collar which hid his speak piece.
“Greasy bastard, how do they manage to look creepier and creepier every time I see them?” Sirius muttered darkly into Remus and James’ earpiece from his car parked out front.
Sirius hated not being able to join on some stakeouts on account of his family. For example, Rabastan Lestrange is technically related to Sirius through marriage as he is the brother-in-law of Sirius’ first cousin Bellatrix. Sirius and Bellatrix, both Black’s by birthright, and the Lestrange’s have historically held ties to the mob boss Tom Riddle who had his followers call him Lord Voldemort. Pretentious fucks at best, but at worst they were prejuidiced, racist, bigots who were involved in human trafficking, which meant it was very important that they get caught and stopped, not the other way around. Which meant Sirius had to play back-up.
Remus was fine with that. James could be a little annoying on account of his ADHD, but he’d take that over Sirius’ inner rage any day.
Remus got it, he really did; Sirius had been surrounded by this his whole life – born and raised to carry on the Black line of arseholes, and he’s seen things many people haven’t. His family was awful and what these women and children went through at their hands was horrible, but being hot-headed in the field didn’t save them.
Remus figured Sirius would probably make a good police officer if they weren’t so corrupt, though he would struggle playing by the rules.
Maybe in another life.
“He’s got a seat in the far left. It’s secluded and near an emergency exit. Reg, are you able to get eyes back there without being caught?” James asked into his own speak piece.
“On it.” Was Reg’s response.
Remus watched the door as James watched Rabastan. People came and went but James never mentioned a change in our target, so Remus disregarded them.
Suddenly, Remus’ breath caught in his throat. No. Not her.
“We should try the croquettes.” James said - their code.
No.
“No.”
James looked up at Remus. “What?”
“It’s...” Remus started, but he didn’t know how to finish. James kept his eyes on Rabastan as you walked past Remus’ line of sight.
“Wait, is that-” James started but they were interrupted by Regulus.
“I’ve got eyes on the emergency exit.”
“Copy.” James muttered and looked back to Remus. “What is it?”
“What’s going on?” Sirius interjected in their earpieces.
“Is that the girl?” James whispered to him, causing Remus to scrunch his eyes shut.
“Wait, what?” Reg called.
James sighed. “Remus’ girl from The Drunken Sailor, it’s her.”
“Wait.” Sirius yelled causing both men to wince. “The girl Rabastan is meeting, it’s Remus’ girl?”
“She’s not my girl.”
Sirius called out the wrong name. “Right?”  Sirius carried on over top of Remus.
“Y/N.” Remus corrected.
“Oh my God,” James said wide eyed at him. “You’ve got it bad.”
“I do not.” Remus started before changing gears, “fuck off, Prongs. Now is not the time. We’ve got to get her out of here.”
“Easy, Remus.” Regulus encouraged him quietly.
“Tell us how you want to go about this.” James added.
Both Black brothers shouted a what over the earpieces.
“The plan stays the same, Prongs. Same as it always is – get her out.” Sirius barked.
“No, Padfoot. This has taken on a new element. If Remus isn’t careful, he could be accused of nefarious actions himself. She’s scheduled for an interview at the restaurant in a few days.” James chided. “It’s your call.” He said to Remus.
She wasn’t supposed to get caught up in this.
She was supposed to go back to school and stay away from dingy bars – and dingy men. She was so clever; how could she have gotten swept up with Rabastan?
No.
Don’t be an arse, Remus.
These men were smart. They knew how to come off completely charming, and targeted women, well, women exactly like her.
She was a student, she was foreign, and she was probably alone when he approached her. She was their perfect target.
Remus just hoped she had kept her wits about her; she had noticed so quickly that his drink had been tampered with, hopefully she’d be just as alert tonight. Remus knew from the staff at the café that she had declined his invitation to pick her up, hopefully she didn’t give him her number, either.
“Do you want me to swap, Remus?” Regulus queried over our earpiece.
Did Remus want him to swap?
What did Remus want?
Remus kind of wanted to be the one to be sitting over there with you.
He turned to look at your table to see you place your jacket on the hook of the booth beside you. As your head was turned, Rabastan’s hand hovered over your glass of water which began to fizz.
“Moons?” James asked quietly again.
But before Remus could respond, you looked back up and your gaze found him. Your eyes and nose scrunched a little as you considered him as if you couldn’t believe what you were seeing. You finally shook your head slightly and offered Remus a small smile before turning back to Rabastan.
Well, you knew Remus was here now.
So much for keeping her out of this.
“Now.” Remus said as he stood from his place at the table.
Tumblr media
The world had to be fucking with you at this point, right? You weren’t actually seeing The Man™? He must just be a figment of your imagination?
Apparently, he was not just a figment of your imagination because he was suddenly standing at the end of your table as if he was about to take your order.
“We really must stop meeting each other like this.” He said with a smirk.
You chuckled nervously as you stared at his beautiful face. “Uhm, yeah. Haha. What are the odds?”
“Uhm, do you mind?” Tan said as he considered The Man ™ and you with furrowed brows.
“I do, actually.” He said severely, before a second man with a mop of curly black hair sidled up behind him looking far more pleased than his counterpart.
“Rabastan, my man, it’s been too long.” He said entirely too loudly. You felt your cheeks heat up as you offered the people around you a nervous smile.
Tan seemed to pale at the sight of the newcomer. Suddenly, his glass of water was turned over in front of him as he scrambled to stand. Before Tan could get anywhere, the curly headed man embraced him in an aggressive looking hug that involved an arm around his neck.
“You bastard, I can’t believe we let it go this long without catching up. Why don’t we have a little family reunion, hm? I know some cousins of yours who are just dying to see how you are.” He announced to the entire restaurant as he man-handled Tan to the emergency exit behind your booth.
You watched with your mouth hanging open as the door closed behind them and the restaurant returned to its appropriate volume.
You turned your head towards The Man ™ as he slid into the booth Tan had just been dragged out of for all intents and purposes.
“What?” was all you could manage to mutter.
“Don’t drink your water” was his response.
You looked down to see the table – now pooled with Tan’s water – and sat there in front of you was your water with a filmy layer on top.
“What the fuck just happened?” you muttered more to yourself than anything.
“I returned the favour.” The Man™ replied with a shrug as he mopped up the water on the table that was starting to spill onto the bench of the booth you were seated on.
“What? Were you following me around waiting for some guy to drug me?” You asked incredulously.
“Relax, sweetheart. It’s not that deep.”
You scoffed in outrage. “Do not tell me to relax you fucker, I was nearly drugged, and lord knows what else.”
“I know exactly what else.” The man snarked back. “He would have brought you out to a van that his buddies would have pulled up upon his command, they would have dumped your purse and all of your belongings in the dumpster behind some business a few blocks away, flown you to Portugal and sold you to the highest bidder, and that’s ignoring everything that would have happened in between. I can assure you, darling, that there was only one fucker here and he was just dragged away by my mate there. So please for all that is holy, relax.” He pressed the end of his sentence as he dumped your glass over as well just as a server came by.
“Oh, let me clean this up for you!” The server exclaimed at the mess just as The Man apologized in faux embarrassment. “I’ll get you two new glasses. Have you had a chance to look at the menu?”
Completely stunned, you decided to field the question to the infuriating man across from you who, fucking damnit, looked just as handsome as the first time you’d seen him.
“Just the waters for now, thank you.” He said with a smile which flashed his dimples, the bastard.
“Are you okay?” He asked softly which was in stark contrast from his demeanor before the server came.
“I’m fine.” You muttered probably more aggressively than you should have. “Fuck, I’m going to kill her.” You growled as you leaned your elbows onto the table and shoved your face into your hands.
“Who’s that now?”
You groaned, hands still covering your face. “My friend, the bitch. This is all her fault.”
“How so?”
“This was her idea! Going out with him, I mean.” You answered miserably as you leaned back against the booth and crossed your arms.
“Your friend knew that guy?” He asked somewhat alarmed.
You snorted a laugh. “No. She just thought I should get out more. Was so worried about me being all sad and lonely in this new city. This’ll teach her.” You muttered as you picked imaginary lint from your skirt.
The man was mirroring you; leaning against the back of his booth with his arms crossed as he seemed to consider you.
“Is that why you started handing out your CV?”
You felt your eyebrows furrow. “My what?”
The man dramatically rolled his eyes. “Oh, my apologies. I meant your resume.”
You nodded your head in understanding before slamming your hand down on the still damp table. “How do you know I’ve been handing out resumes? Are you actually stalking me?”
“No, even your luck doesn’t seem to be that bad. Though, being nearly drugged twice is not a good track record.”
“If I’m remembering correctly, you were the one nearly drugged last time.”
The man smiled at you and something about it felt far softer than you felt the moment called for. “You applied at my mum’s restaurant – the one on 72nd. She was going on about finally having live music in the joint; I saw your CV.”
“I didn’t apply as a musician.” You shouted somewhat panickily. You cleared your throat before correcting yourself. “I mean, I just...I was just looking for a job as a server.”
He squinted his eyes at you before responding. “Well, good luck trying to say no to my mum.”
“What are the chances of me getting drugged if I work at your mum’s restaurant?”
This surprised a bark of laugh from him. “Actually, your chances would be quite a bit lower.”
“I don’t know...” you said suspiciously. “Every time I’ve been with you, drinks have been drugged.”
He hummed as he squinted his eyes. “Hazard of the trade.”
“And what trade is that?”
“Crime.” He said simply. You chuckled, but as you looked back up at the man, you noticed he wasn’t laughing.
“Oh, you’re serious?” You commented.
The corner of his mouth seemed to quirk at your word choice, but he offered you one quick nod.
“But...you’re the kind of criminal to have your drinks drugged and to stop other people from getting drugged?”
He moved his head side-to-side as if to say sort of.
“And you’re telling me this...because?”
“Because” he said as he seemed to square himself, “you ought to know that before you accept the position.”
The Man stood and left some bills on the table. “Are you safe to get home on your own?”
Still reeling from this whole ordeal, you nodded dumbly at him. He offered you a soft smile.
“Take it easy, Y/N.” He said as he left through the emergency exit.
It was only at his use of your name that you realized you still haven't caught his.

Remus was kicking himself. He should have just asked if you were okay and went about business as usual. He shouldn’t have sat with you, he shouldn’t have confessed about his mother’s restaurant, and he definitely shouldn’t have told you about the nature of his career. But he couldn’t let you walk into that interview without knowing what you were potentially getting yourself into.
And what would have happened if you had taken the job and then seen him there? Then you really would have suspected him of stalking.
Well, Remus has technically stalked before, but not in like a stalkery way, you know? It was like...
It was surveillance!
Fuck, he was grasping at straws.
It just seemed like the world was hell bent on shoving you in Remus’ path. And when Remus first met you – he was insistent on keeping you away from him, from this.
But you just had to drop your resume off at his family’s restaurant.
And you just had to get picked up by a human trafficking sociopath.
So, if you were going to insist on walking this dangerous line Remus calls life, you might as well know where the line is.
He didn’t know what he was more worried about: that you’d take his warning or that you wouldn’t.
Continue to part four here.
