I want theater kids to never learn about/get invested in OOTM because imagine you did a play in 7 min got judged have to build the set no tech jsut raw dogging it with effects you can’t buy things for your costume unless it’s dirt cheap your team is 7 people max you don’t know what you’re doing until the team’s already locked and signed up you get jumpscared by problems every week you have to write and learn it all with short rehearsals sometimes the show gets quirky and then a THEATER KID shows up.

its so tiring seeing stuff for the new generation of pokemon and realizing that their only appeal now is just gimmicks and nostalgia baiting. why the fuck does every new region just get some cherry picked redesigns- with alolan forms it was fine because yes it was a nostalgia grab but it actually fit the setting!! alola was an island region and thats what evolution does to animals that end up stranded on islands!! now why the fuck is there a hisuian zoroark in the sinnoh region? ah just to give an ugly design to a fan favorite pokemom? right right.

the new games have like 3 gimmicks going on simultaneously, the terra whatever, the paldean forms and whatever the past/future forms are. they arent even trying anymore- even with supposedly "new and innovative" game design like with legends arceus. a game set in a time before trainers!! open world-esque where youll have to rough it out on your own!! spoiler alert its not even open world, lazily just put pokeballs in there even though they shouldnt exist, graphics look fucking awful all the time now, has no dynamic gameplay mechanics to fit the setting, etc etc. (pokemon conquest literally did everything better about this concept but i digress)

and then people are just defending it constantly??? like thank fuck we've seen a rise in actual criticism bc gamefreak is making pokemon fans eat off the ground and people are thanking them for it. but they know theyre always gonna get their money's worth no matter how fast they pump out mediocre games as long as they keep the nostalgia alive enough so it can shamble along like a rotting corpse

yeah  beard  ignores  his  own  self  being  a  lot  ,  but  at  the  same  time  . . .  in  beard  after  hours  ,  we  do  see  him  somewhat  understand  what  he  shouldn’t  be  doing.  &  what  that  means  is  ,  he  realized  from  the  very  beginning  ,   that  he  shouldn’t  be  alone.  did  he  want  to  be?  yes.  but  he  invited  ted  alongside  him  ,  not  just  for  ted’s  benefit  ,  but  for  his  own.  the  second  he  realized  being  alone  in  his  own  flat  caused  an  influx  of  intrusive  thoughts?  he  zipped  his  jacket  right  back  up  &  took  the  walk  to  crown  &  anchor  ,   because  if  he  was  going  to  drink  ,  he  was  going  to  do  it  around  people.  we  don’t  see  thierry  &  gary  again  until  beard  is  alone  in  that  room   ,  after  he  separated  himself  from  the  pub  trio.  after  that  ,  he  finds  company  in  the  redhead  &  that’s  a  hell  of  a  lot  better  than  being  alone.  then  he  proceeded  to  get  separated  from  her  as  well  ,  &  eventually  he  saw  thierry  &  gary  again  ---  notably  not  physically  alone  ,  but  these  aren’t  people  who  care  about  him  ---  he  was  alone  in  that  fight.  one  against  three.   beard  is  aware  ,  on  some  level  ,  that  him  being  alone  when  he  gets  like  this  is  only  disastrous  ,  because  it  brings  the  intrusive  &  awful  self-criticizing  thoughts  he  tries  to  avoid  all  the  time.

#post-nap had to write the most unintelligible thing. but like. #when he realized he couldn't even get DRUNK in the privacy of his own home without his mind trying to tear him apart #he just switched locations so where he Wasn't alone. he tried to talk to mae but she shut him out and yell @ him. #so he opted for sitting alone . . . but still surrounded by people. #because the bustle of the pub & being around people . . . make his brain a little less mean. #〈 ooc. 〉 - 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙩 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜. #n then yeah. he did opt for being alone as the night went out. the part of him that wanted to find #comfort in at least being around people went away. he was feeling SO terrible. so being alone w his thoughts? #why not. WHY NOT. but then he found jane. and. well. to him that's leagues better than being alone.
