Piggybacking off of @piraterefrigerator post, mostly because I don't feel right promoing Madhook stuff under someone else's post. But Killian's mental health is a huge thing that we touch on in my Madhook au (side note, I don't think I've ever mentioned the Madhook stuff on my main outside of the tags)
Tw for discussion of mental health and suicidal thoughts
Killian has a breakdown when Jefferson proposes to him at the season 4 midseason due to the weight of Rumplestiltskin nearly killing him along with all the horrible things he forces him to do throughout the season, which were worsened by Killian's issues with being controlled. He then struggles with a depressive episode during the six weeks due to guilt over trapping the fairies and is suicidal during this time. After the fairies are freed he's doing a bit better but still clearly struggling, but mostly able to hide it a lot better and throw himself into work again, the main way that he distracts himself this works up until his death. After he dies and subsequently comes back, he throws himself into wedding planning with Jefferson, as they get engaged in Camelot, but wedding planning is stressful itself and the moment something goes wrong Killian has another breakdown influenced by the weight of The Dark One arc and his torture in the underworld, leading to him finally starting the therapy he desperately needs.

TW: Suicidal ideation and death
Killian was born to Brennan and Alice Jones. When he was very young, his mother died, leaving him, his brother, and their father alone. At ten years old, Killian's father abandoned him and his brother, trading them away for a rowboat to escape the soldiers in the next port. Killian suffered a lot upon Captain Silver's ship, being treated worse than the other sailors aboard. To try and cope with this, he turned to drinking at a young age which just made things worse as he developed a reputation as a drunk and a poor and lazy worker. When Killian was seventeen, he and Liam and finally saved up enough of their minuscule pay to afford to join the Royal Navy. The day before they planned to, Captain Silver gave Killian some rum, and he consequentially gambled away all of his money. Liam decided to stay with his brother until he had saved up the money he needed again, putting aside his own dreams to be with Killian. That day they attempted a mutiny to avoid going on a suicide mission.  Despite succeeding in the mutiny, Liam decided that sailing into the storm anyway would be the best call claiming that they wouldn’t be able to safely do anything else. When he made this decision, he gave Killian his lucky ring to ensure that he’d be kept safe. In the end, most of the crew died, but Liam was able to get the jewel which was his and Killian's ticket into the Royal Navy.
In the Royal Navy, Killian was able to get an education. There, he flourished, developing a love of literature and plays and learning several languages. Ultimately, he graduated at the top of his class and was excited to face the world as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy. Along with his academic pursuits, Killian was taught the ways of high society, proper etiquette, social norms, and how to dance and play the piano. Of course, this high life didn't last, as when Killian was twenty, he and Liam took a trip to Neverland, which ended tragically. Liam had been told that they were going to Neverland in search of a great medicine. However, Peter Pan, the boy who greeted them when they arrived on the island, explained how Dreamshade was actually a great poison. While Liam was quick to dismiss the boy and accuse him of lying to keep the medicine for himself, Killian was a bit more hesitant, the seed of doubt having been planted in his mind. He kept badgering his brother about this possibility until Liam cut himself with the plant in an attempt to quell his brother’s fears. Instead, he proved them right, immediately collapsing as the poison coursed through his body. Pan appeared soon afterward, explaining how there was a way to heal Liam, but he wouldn’t be able to leave the realm. Killian allowed Pan to lead him to the falls but didn’t heed his warning and tried to leave the realm with his brother. He died in his arms as soon as they crossed back into the Enchanted Forest.
With the death of his brother, Killian gave up on the monarchy and sought revenge on the institution he blamed for Liam's death. He turned to piracy, swearing to destroy every one of the king's ships he saw and steal from the Kingdom. On his path of piracy, there was a tavern that Killian ended up returning to often. He met a woman there named Milah and stopped one of the other patrons from harassing her. He was immediately taken by her beauty, though she informed him that she was married and had a child. While Killian didn't initially pursue her, he did regale her with stories of his travels, and the pair soon fell in love. Eventually, Milah grew tired of her cowardly husband and ran off with Killian. However, before she decided to leave, the pair came up with a test to see if Rumpelstiltskin was willing to fight for his wife. A rumor was spread that Milah had been kidnapped by pirates. Eventually, Rumpelstiltskin came to confront Killian to get her back. However, when Killian presented the shorter man with a sword and challenged him to a duel for his wife, he was too cowardly to fight for her or their family. This confirmed to Milah that she was making the right choice in leaving.
Killian and Milah spent many happy years together sailing and traveling and being pirates and happily in love with each other. Eventually, the two of them decided to calm down a bit and begin to look for a place to stay and settle down, as Milah was pregnant. Along with this, they decided to go back for Milah’s son Baelfire, something that they had always talked about doing. On his way back to the ship after a night at the tavern, Killian ran into Rumpelstiltskin, now the dark one. Initially not realizing who he was speaking to, Killian began insulting the man, ultimately calling him a crocodile. Because of these insults and taking his wife, Rumpelstiltskin challenged Killian to a duel. During the conversation, The Dark One asked what had happened to Milah, and Killian lied and said that she had died to protect her. Killian went out to duel the dark one, and just before Rumpelstiltskin could crush his heart, Milah showed up to stop the fight and offer a magic bean in exchange for their lives. The pair returned to the ship with The Dark One in tow to get Killian help and the magic bean that they agreed to. However, Rumpelstiltskin began asking Milah about how she could abandon her family. Ultimately, she admitted to never being in love with him. This sent him into a rage that led to him murdering Milah. Killian attacked him with a hook, hitting him in the heart in a way that would have killed anyone else, but The Dark One survived. Still wanting the magic bean, Rumplestiltskin cut off the hand that he thought Killian was holding it in. However, he was wrong, and instead, Killian was able to use the bean to go to Neverland.
In Neverland, Killian began his search for a way to kill The Dark One. A few months in, Baelfire arrived on his ship. Upon finding out that he was Milah’s son, Killian quickly took him under his wing, even going as far as lying to Peter Pan to keep him safe. He began to mentor Baelfire and treat him like the son that Killian had always wanted him to be. During this mentorship, Baelfire let slip the existence of the dark one’s dagger, the one way to kill The Dark One, the ticket Killian needed to achieve his revenge. However, this all fell apart when Baelfire found the picture of Milah that Killian kept. He drew a sword on the pirate, as Rumpelstiltskin had told his son that pirates had murdered his mother rather than the truth of the encounter. Killian attempted to explain the truth, but Baelfire refused to believe him and demanded off the ship. Killian reluctantly handed him over to Pan, a moment choice he immediately regretted.
Killian continued to work for Pan, running errands for him and suffering greatly if he failed. Eventually, Pan permitted Killian to leave the realm, and the pirate didn't waste any time taking his leave. He turned back to piracy as soon as he arrived in the Enchanted Forest, making a name for himself as Captain Hook. However, his searches for The Dark One's dagger weren't very successful, so after finding two magic beans, Killian made his way to Wonderland for a change of pace.
In Wonderland, Killian met two of the most influential figures in his life. He stumbled across a room full of hats and was quickly captivated by their creator. He was a man named Jefferson, someone who could be quite handsome if he wasn’t so unkempt and who Killian ultimately fell in love with. The other was The Clockworker, Tim, the only other person who visited Jefferson. He was already friends with Jefferson when Killian arrived. The two became fast friends as Tim was happy to see that Jefferson had another positive influence in his life.
While falling in love with Jefferson was terrifying, it was also one of the easiest things that Killian had ever done. He found himself determined to get Jefferson out of Wonderland. He was willing to do anything to ensure it happened, even putting aside his desire for revenge to focus on the hatter. He was spurred on by the knowledge that Jefferson had a daughter, Grace, and the two made many plans for when Killian got to meet her and how they would raise her together. This led to him telling his crew that they could leave Wonderland if they wanted to and putting Smee in charge as Jefferson wasn't the mission that they had signed up for. While Killian wasn't successful in his plan, he and Jefferson eventually made it out of Wonderland when the curse hit.
Under the curse, Killian was a man named Cecil, a fisherman who wanted more for his life but was doing his best to provide for his daughter, Paige. He lived next door to the eccentric tailor, Edward Hart, but that had never bothered him much. He was a bit enamored by Emma Swan when she arrived in town but was shaken a bit when she asked if he’d had any adverse encounters with his neighbor and to keep a closer eye on Paige when it comes to him.
This all changed when the curse broke, and Killian was finally reunited with his family. He and Jefferson were together once again, and they were able to raise Grace together as they had always dreamt. While Killian did put most of his time into thinking about his family, he never forgot his plans for revenge. Upon hearing that the dark one was going to New York, where he'd be away from the protections of his magic, Killian was quick to follow, sailing to the city on his boat. While he managed to stab the dark one with his Dreamshade coated hook, he was soon kidnapped by Greg and Tamara and brought back to Storybrooke to do their bidding. He went along with their plan to ensure his family's safety.  However, he betrayed them upon learning that they plan to destroy the town, seeing as his family would be doomed either way. Before Killian left, he was able to grab a few magic beans just in case. He went to the Charming’s to help figure out how to stop Greg and Tamara, but upon realizing that the fail-safe had been activated, he went home to spend what very well could be his final moments with his family. However, when the Charmings came to his door hoping to use one of Jefferson's hats to send the fail-safe away, Killian handed the bean over to do the trick. Upon discovering that Henry'd been kidnapped, Killian offered to lead the exhibition to Neverland as he knew the realm the best.
While Killian wasn't happy about being away from his family, the trip to Neverland was worth it to save Henry. The journey was challenging as most of the group wasn't willing to cooperate, but after the mermaid scare, they arrived on the main island alive and managed to pull it together for Henry. Killian realized that he had his work cut out for him as early on in the trip, David got hit with a Dreamshade tipped arrow and chose not to tell his family about it. As David came closer to succumbing to his Dreamshade poisoning, Killian finally intervened and led David to the waters that cured his brother. On the way there, Pan offered Killian the opportunity to work for him again, and Killian refused. However, David didn't hear the entire conversation and attacked Killian under the assumption that he was betraying him, though he was too weak to put up a fight. Killian successfully got David to drink the water but explained how if he wanted to live, he'd be trapped on the island.
Upon returning to camp, Pan informed Killian that Baelfire was alive, tempting him to see if he'd play hero and try to rescue him alone. Instead of playing into Pan's hand, Killian told Charming and Snow, though he asked them not to tell their daughter. Despite her relationship with Graham, she still had complex feelings regarding Neal. Snow couldn't keep the secret, and soon afterward, they headed off to echo cave to save Baelfire. In the echo cave, Killian confessed that he wanted to marry Jefferson but didn't want to put him through the possibility of losing a spouse like he had lost his wife, Priscilla. This brought him and Emma closer. From then on, they spent a lot of time discussing Killian and Jefferson’s relationship and ways that Killian could possibly propose as an escape from the terrifying situation surrounding them. With Neal free, Killian took the opportunity to try and make amends for everything that had happened between the two in Baelfire’s childhood though it took time to do so while also searching for his son. Upon returning to Storybrooke, it was revealed that Pan swapped bodies with Henry. His curse prevailed despite his defeat, meaning that Storybrooke would be destroyed. Because of this, Killian had to say goodbye to Emma, who he'd become rather close in the time that they'd known each other.
In the Enchanted Forest, Killian watched proudly as his lover became the court seamster. At the same time, he returned to a life of piracy. Despite his thieving ways, he made sure to never linger far from the castle so he could always be with his family.  Along with this, Killian was searching for his ship as he wasn't sure where it had landed in the return to the enchanted forest. One day while taking a walk, he was accosted by a mermaid named Ariel who said that her prince Eric had been kidnapped and taken aboard the Jolly Roger. Killian obviously had nothing to do with this but agreed to help as finding Eric would mean finding his ship as well, especially when he realized that the ship was currently being captain by Blackbeard, as evidenced by the dagger she had. Upon finding the ship, Killian challenged Black Beard to a duel. However, as the duel reached its end, Ariel discovered that Eric wasn't aboard the ship. This meant that if Killian killed Black Beard, she wouldn't be able to find him. Killian was given a tough dilemma; he could lose his ship and reputation as a pirate if he didn't kill Black Beard. However, if he did, Eric could be lost forever. Eventually, he and Black Beard came to an agreement. If Killian spared Black Beard and relinquished his title as the most fearsome pirate to ever sail, he could have the Jolly Roger back. Killian agreed to this, choosing to help this young woman rather than maintain a reputation. As he knew that what his family would think of him mattered more than his reputation ever could.
A year after arriving in the Enchanted Forest, Killian got a note from a bird carrying a memory potion. It explained that another curse was being cast and that he had to go and find Emma so she could break it again. After talking to Jefferson, the pair decided that it would be best for Jefferson and Grace to return to Storybrooke with the curse. There they'd be safe, and Killian could Emma on his own. Killian sailed out of the range of the curse before trading his ship away for a magic bean so he could travel to the land without magic. Once there, Killian made his way to New York City and managed to intercept Emma on her date. He ended up slipping the memory potion into her drink and talking to her while Walsh was in the bathroom. On the way back to Storybrooke, Emma teased Killian about not being engaged to Jefferson. While more open to the concept, he was still clearly uneasy and nervous.
Upon returning to Storybrooke, Killian went straight home to inform Jefferson of what had happened during the missing year and why he hadn't returned to the Enchanted Forest with everyone else. He later fills in the Charming family, along with Tim and Diego, with as much as he knows, though it isn’t a lot since he spent most of his time stealing things or with his family. Killian helped figure out what was going on around town and began teaching Henry and Grace how to sail. He also attended Tim and Diego's second wedding during this time since they didn't remember their first one. When Emma left the celebration for her younger brother, Killian followed her. They discussed the future of her relationship with Graham, as she was hesitant to continue seeing as her heart had been broken once again. As they talked, they saw a beam of light rise into the sky coming from Zelena’s barn and raced over to investigate. When Emma got dragged into the portal through time, Killian followed after her. The pair messed up Snow and Charming's meeting and frantically worked to ensure that it still happened so that Emma wouldn't cease to exist.
Upon returning to the proper timeline, an ice witch began attacking Storybrooke. Despite this, Killian and Jefferson tried to maintain a normal life and decided to go on a date. In preparation for this date, Killian decided to see if Rumpelstiltskin would be willing to return his hand to him. He agreed and didn't make Killian strike a deal, citing how the hand is a part of who he used to be and that the hand will bring that back out. Killian ignores this warning and proceeds on his date. The date went rather poorly, as a drunk Will Scarlett bumps into the pair's table, knocking water all over Jefferson. Killian overreacted and violently grabbed Scarlett as he demanded an apology. Jefferson was slightly amused by the interaction until he saw Killian's reaction and gently asked him to calm down. He let Will go and apologized for the overreaction, their date continuing pleasantly from there. That night as Killian was taking a walk to try and clear his head, he came across Will trying to break into the library. He began to punch him and stopped when he realized that he'd gone way too far. When Killian returned home, he brushed off Jefferson's questions about his wounded knuckles. He decided to go see Rumpelstiltskin in the morning to get rid of the hand.
This time Gold made him strike a deal, and together they ended up absorbing the Sorcerer's Apprentice into a magic hat. Gold then revealed that there was a recording of this event and altered it to make it look like Killian was the sole culprit and used this footage to further blackmail him. Killian tried to chase Emma to ensure that she didn't give up her magic. However, he was instead greeted by Rumpelstiltskin, who ripped out Killian's heart and explained that he needed it to free himself from the dagger. When Killian argued that Gold couldn't kill him because he had a daughter, Gold responded by pointing out how Milah had a son, and he took her anyway. Using Killian’s heart, Gold forced him to absorb the fairies into the hat. When he heard Emma and the others coming in to check on their progress, he hid behind the counter out of shame and was horrified by what he had done. Killian goes home to visit Jefferson and Grace as they prepare for the curse of shatter sight. He tried to disguise his goodbye as a heartfelt message of love just in case he did something to hurt them during the curse. Jefferson noticed that something was up, but Killian used the impending curse and his plan to chain himself to the docks as an excuse to leave without answering.
Because Killian didn't have his heart, the curse of shattered sight didn't affect him. Gold used this to his advantage and tasked the pirate with retrieving Henry so they could leave together. Killian tried, but when he finally got into the room, he slipped on the marbles that Henry laid out and collapsed while he escaped. Gold is disappointed when the curse ends but doesn't let that stop his plans. He sent Killian to explain to Emma how to return the visitors from Arendelle home, as he feared that Anna could get in the way of his plans. That night, Killian was led up to the top of the clocktower as Rumpelstiltskin prepared his spell. Having accepted his fate by now, Killian tried to close his eyes in resignation; however, The Dark One forced him to watch as he crushed Killian's heart. However, that never came as Belle appeared and saved his life. Once home, Emma returned Killian's heart to him, and Jefferson spontaneously proposed, scared by the thought of losing Killian. This caught Killian off guard, and with the renewed emotions of having his heart back, he was overwhelmed by his guilt surrounding the events of the past few days. He rejected Jefferson's proposal as he began to weep.
The calm in Storybrooke for six weeks didn't help the storm going on within Killian's mind. Following Jefferson's proposal, Killian fell into a depressive episode as the guilt of everything he'd done ate away at him. He tried to throw himself into saving the fairies as best he could, but the frustration of not accomplishing anything only seemed to make matters worse. Killian began to distance himself from everyone except Grace, feeling that his poor mental state shouldn’t negatively affect her since she was a child. He tried to continue spending time with her in small ways, like helping with her homework and taking her sailing. At times the guilt would be unbearable, and Killian would contemplate suicide, feeling as though he couldn’t live with the crushing weight of his guilt, but he always kept going, unwilling to hurt Grace or Jefferson like that. Eventually, Jefferson grew tired of Killian's distance and worried about the state of their relationship, and confronted him about his growing distance. Killian’s reluctance to open up led to this boiling into an argument until Killian finally broke down in tears and explained how he'd been feeling. Jefferson comforted his lover, and Killian began to pull back from people less and open up a bit more. However, he knew he still wouldn't be entirely okay until the fairies were freed.
That day finally came as Belle got an email back, which translated the spell that they needed. With Cruella and Ursula’s arrival in town, Killian takes this opportunity to right one of the wrongs of his youth and help Ursula get her singing voice back. Seeing that the Queens of Darkness are trying to get their happy ending with the help of the author, Killian becomes concerned about the state of his family. His worry was only increased when considering the phrase "Villains don't get happy endings." This concern isn't helped when he realizes that Jefferson murdered the March Hare, an act of revenge that could get him labeled a villain.
Distressed by Emma’s decision to take on the darkness, Graham and Killian teamed up to try and find her. When Regina failed at using the dark fairy's wand, the pair decided to break Zelena out of prison, giving them a way to find Emma. While they went to Camelot to free Emma from the darkness, Killian was excited for the ball being hosted in the savior’s honor. He hadn’t been to a ball since he was young, and he was excited to not only dance with his lover but escort his daughter to her first ball. However, the mood was soured when Grace left the ball crying. Killian and Jefferson went to comfort her and discovered her feelings for Henry and how she was hurt by his attention on Violet. Killian found himself with a lot of downtime in Camelot. While he spent a lot of time reading and taking horseback rides, he also spent a lot of time with his lover. Especially considering how tumultuous their relationship had been over the past few weeks. One day Jefferson took Killian to a field filled with beautiful middlemost flowers, and there he proposed again, and Killian happily accepted.
Later, it was discovered that one of the ingredients for the spell to awaken Merlin was a tear of heartbreak. Realizing that a tear from someone who knew what it was needed for wouldn't work, Killian and Emma decided to pretend that they were having an affair in order to elicit a tear out of Graham. This worked, and they were able to free Merlin. Before Killian went after King Arthur to retrieve Excalibur, he gave Grace his brother’s ring explaining that it would keep her safe while he was gone. However, in the fight for Excalibur and Emma's family, Killian was nicked in the neck by the sword. Emma easily healed the wound; however, Killian's wound reopened and nearly killed him when she began to reconnect the swords. Thinking fast, Emma decided to turn Killian into a dark one, not wanting Grace to lose another parent. This angered Killian as The Darkness was something that he struggled with throughout his life, so he wasn't happy with being plunged into it. This certainly wasn't helped by Emma's unwillingness to give him Excalibur, implying that she didn't trust him to control himself and needed to be prepared to stop him. Despite her later giving him the sword, he took this assertion to hear and let The Darkness consume him, beginning to act out the deeds of The Darkness as a whole.
In Storybrooke, Killian was confused about why he didn't have any memories of the past six weeks in Camelot. Along with why Grace was wearing his brother's ring and when he and Jefferson had gotten engaged. Emma’s ominous appearance didn’t help matters at all. Despite the circumstances, Emma suggested that she and Killian have lunch on the Jolly Roger like old times. However, Killian wasn't interested in pretending like things were normal and wanted to know what had happened in Camelot. Emma wasn't forthcoming with any details, and eventually, she got the message that she wasn’t wanted and left. Soon after, Killian decides to break into Emma’s house and finds both Excalibur and the dream catchers. When Emma saved Killian from King Arthur, he began to suspect something was up. He tested this theory by jumping off of the clock tower as a means to get her attention. It worked, and Emma took him to her house, promising to explain what she'd been doing. There she gave him a plate of cookies laced with a sedative, and after he tried one, he collapsed in her arms and awoke in a cell with Zelena. Killian freed Zelena and searched Emma's house for squid ink to trap her. He found it just as she found him but as soon as she was contained, Zelena stabbed him in his chest. To his horror, it did nothing, and she showed him his dreamcatcher, revealing what had happened in Camelot. Killian was disgusted by Emma's actions and wiped her memories so she wouldn't know his plan before leaving her immobilized in her home. After that, Killian went home to tell his family about his discoveries, however he and Jefferson got into a fight over wether or not Grace should be told, which ultimately led to him teleporting out of the house in anger. He then challenged Rumpelstiltskin to a duel. However, he lost due to his cockiness. However, during this fight, Killian was able to gain Rumpelstiltskin's blood so he could open a portal to the Underworld. This brought back the past dark ones, and they marked people to return to the Underworld in her place, though he asks that they leave Grace and Henry alone. That night at the lake, he almost helps the dark ones succeed in their plan. However, he couldn't bear to see Emma get hurt and ultimately sacrificed himself to save everyone else.
In the Underworld, Killian had a vision of Jefferson trying to communicate with him and tried to escape to see his lover again. In the end, he helped a girl named Megara escape and had her send a message to Jefferson to let him know that Killian knew that he was there. Killian ended up captured by Hades, who made him pick three of his friends to leave behind since three people were able to move on. Eventually, with Milah’s help, Jefferson arrived to save Killian, and he got to speak with his first love again one last time. As punishment for not picking people to remain in the Underworld, Hades puts Jefferson, Tim, and Diego's names on gravestones. This trapped them there and prevented Jefferson from splitting his heart with Killian. Soon after, Killian was reunited with his older brother Liam, and he began to help the heroes search for a way to defeat Hades. Killian was a bit annoyed that Jefferson didn't like Liam but calmed down once Jefferson agreed to try and get along with him. However, Killian was soon horrified to discover that Liam had made a deal with Hades that resulted in them finding the eye of the storm. This disillusionment caused Killian to have an identity crisis, wondering who he could be if his brother wasn't the man he thought he was. Jefferson had Emma split his heart after they got Hades to remove the names from the headstones. However, when she tried to put half of it into Killian's body, it was rejected because Killian's soul had been separated from his body for too long. They ended up braving the Underworld trial to prove their true love and get ambrosia to bring Killian back. However, when Jefferson picked his heart over Killian, it was revealed that they aren't true love, and Killian had to remain in the Underworld. The two shared a tearful goodbye before Jefferson went back up to the library to take the portal to Storybrooke. Despite this, Killian was unable to move on, fearing for his family's safety, especially when he learned that Hades was in Storybrooke. He managed to help his friends defeat Hades and finally moved on.
When he went to move on to Mount Olympus, he instead arrived in Storybrooke, just after his own funeral. He and Jefferson reunited and then met up with Grace for a happy family reunion. This happiness didn't last long as soon after it was discovered that Henry, Grace, Elena, and Violet had run off in an attempt to destroy magic. The parents plan to go to New York to find them on Neal’s suggestion, however before they leave, Zelena’s spell to send the Camelot residents home goes wrong. Killian, Tim, Snow, David, and Zelena were all dragged to the Land of Untold Stories. While imprisoned, the group meets two thieves lamenting being separated from their kids while in prison, something that pulled at Killian's heartstrings. However, Jekyll freed the heroes before anything could be done, electing to leave the parents behind. While wandering the streets of the realm, Killian met a girl named Grace. He commented on her name being the same as his daughters and a few other things they have in common, like being the same age and their eyes being the same shade of green. Killian didn't think much of the similarities though his heart was warmed by her enthusiasm at discovering that he's Captain Hook. As she explained how her family had constantly told stories about the pirate. Upon returning to The Land without Magic, Killian was finally reunited with his family.
However, before they could really get settled in, a dirigible appears, carrying with it the inhabitants of The Land of Untold Stories. Killian quickly began to help the new residents get acclimated to Storybrooke. He was happy to spot the girl he had talked to when he was in The Land of Untold Stories and got introduced to her family. While Killian was talking to them, Jefferson walked into Granny's. He was happy to introduce the family to his fiancé. However, he was surprised by the look of shock and somewhat horror on Jefferson’s face. He became even more alarmed when Grace slapped Jefferson and claimed that he had abandoned her. Eventually, Killian found out that Grace is Jefferson's twin sister, who their daughter was named for. While Jefferson was under the impression that his family was dead, they'd actually survived by traveling to The Land of Untold Stories. Around the same time, Killian realized that his father was alive and in Storybrooke but decided not to worry about it.
While this happened, Belle woke up from her sleeping curse, and Killian offered to allow her to stay at his old house next to the mansion. Upon finding out that Mr. Hyde may be coming after Belle, Killian remained in the house to protect her. However, he was drawn away to help with matters at home. When he returned, he found Jekyll about to attack Belle. He drew his sword on him, ultimately killing him and, simultaneously, Mr. Hyde. As Jefferson got reacquainted with his family, he and Killian began planning their wedding. With the weight of the events of the Underworld weighing on him, the realization that his father is alive, and the general stress of wedding planning, Killian had another breakdown that led to him deciding to start seeing Archie. In the end, Jefferson decided to extend invitations to his siblings. There were a few encounters with Jefferson’s parents trying to interact with Grace. However, they quickly learned that neither of her fathers would stand for that. Upon learning that Jefferson had lots of siblings and thinking about how much his brother meant to him, Killian pointed out to his fiancé how it's odd that Grace is an only child. This led to a discussion about adoption, and the two agreed to revisit the topic after their wedding. In the end, they opted for a summer wedding on the Jolly Roger, a small one with just their closest friends and family.

Just wrote my very first MadHook story, for a friend. I’m looking for a beta, since I’m very new to the OUAT fandom. Anybody interested, or know someone who can help me?

MadHook, if they had a kid meme (Wish!Hook because he's the best Hook)
In AU where Killian gets Alice out of the tower and meets single dad Jefferson, who just escaped from Wonderland and gotten his daughter, Grace back. They get married. Well, of course they each bring a child into the relationship…
Alice

Grace:
Tumblr media
And then they end up adopting another little girl together.
Name: Joyanna Jones
Gender: Female
General Appearance:  Dark blonde hair, blue eyes. She’s a lot more girly than her older sisters. Lots of pink and puts a lot of care into her hair.
Personality: She’s rough around the edges and says how she feels, whenever she feels it. That can end up getting her in some trouble, but she says she gets it from her papa (Killian). That doesn’t mean she’s not loving, though. She just…can sometimes offend people.
Special Talents: Since she was adopted, they didn’t know if she’d have magic or not. As it turns out, she does. When they realize Alice has it too, they end up enlisting in the help of a local sorceress.
Who they like better: Killian tends to get her a little more and can match her wit for wit. Though, sometimes he can be a bit too strict for her liking, so she turns to Jefferson-who is soft as ever. That’s a whole other thing the two dads have to work out. Jefferson has a lot of guilt for losing time with Grace.
Who they take after more: She’s adopted, so she doesn’t really look like either of them. However, she does have Killian’s attitude.
Personal head canon: When she’s a little older, these people appear, claiming to be her biological parents. As it turns out, they work for Blue who-after the fairies are liberated-is looking for children to mine for pixie dust. Jefferson and Killian save her, once and for all.
Face claim: Raegan Revord
