summary: you thought all your hard work in order for Nishimura Riki to notice you were all put into waste but apparently he’s got his eyes on you.

a/n: I had fun writing for our maknae. He’s really cute and I think he’ll be very sweet to his girl. So finally, I’ve come to finish my mini series that took forever lmao. Nishimura Riki

Class 1 - A - “The Dance Club President”

“Y/n! Where are you going?” you turned your head as one of your classmates called you out. With both brows raised in wonder, you looked at her.

“Dance club.” you answered shortly. She nodded her head right away like as if she already know why you’re going there.

Well, she probably knows the reason why. Almost everyone is aware about your undying love for Nishimura Riki. They’re all used to your crazy ways for catching his attention. Even Nishimura Riki, himself, is used to it. It was like normal already.

Loud music quickly invaded your ears as you finally made it to the dance club room. With a smirk spreading through your face you rested yourself over at the entrance of the door.

In front of you was Niki, full of sweat because of all the dancing he’s been doing. He’s the only one left inside because everybody left early to do their individual business. Niki, on the other hand, thinks that dancing is the most important thing in the world as of now.

“Aren’t you tired yet?” you tried to make your voice sound louder to defeat the music that basically took over the whole room.

He turned his head over at your direction and you saw how it looked with blank expression at you. Instead of feeling offended, you smirked already used at how rude his eyes were.

“Water?” you offered raising your hand that was holding the water bottle you planned to offer to him.

He sighed heavily wiping off his sweat before walking slowly towards where they manipulate the music then stopped it. He turned towards you with a bored look.

“No thanks, I have mine here. Who knows what you put in there?” he raised one of his eyebrow as the corner of his lips raised a little to piss you off. It actually worked as you looked at him with your poker face.

“Listen here, Nishimura Riki. I do really like you so much but I’m not that desperate to put something in your drink!” you sounded so defensive and offended as you said those words to him.

Niki kept his blank face but inside his head he was laughing already because he pissed you off. He shrugged his shoulders off at you that made you sighed heavily to calm yourself down and stop yourself from throwing the water battle at him.

“Do you really think I can do that?” you asked him. Niki nodded his head without hesitation.

“Niki!” you said and he just tilted his head before chugging down his own drink.

You pushed the side of your cheeks using your tongue and then went over to one of the chairs to sit down. You tried to open the bottle that you were holding but it was tightly closed so it was giving you a hard time.

You looked over to Niki’s direction and he’s now busy checking something over his phone. Maybe watching some choreography videos at youtube or something. With a pouting lips you stood up and walked over at his direction. He was too busy that he didn’t even looked over at you when you approach him.

“Can you open this for me?” you tried to ask him in a sulky way so he’ll know you’re still pissed at him.

His head snapped over at you from his phone then down to the water bottle. He rolled his eyes then looked over at you. Your cheeks quickly blushed at the piercing stares he gave you. One of the things you like the most is his eyes. You don’t know why you like them when in fact, other people thinks Niki’s eyes looked so rude in some ways. Well... they do look rude but for you they’re definitely attractive.

His eyes trailed from your bottle then back at your eyes. “Open it yourself.” he rudely told you.

You rolled your eyes as he started playing the music once again. With mouth tightly shut close trying hard to stop yourself from shouting at him. Did he really just did that? You sighed and stared at him who’s now starting to dance again. It’s like he’s back to his own world and you’re obviously not included.

Having your shoulders hanging low, you let out a heavy sigh before you slowly exits the room to just leave him alone. Maybe this is not the right time to bother him. He seems a bit stressed, you don’t know why but it appears that way. Niki’s not the type to open up to somebody whenever he’s having a hard time. As long as he can keep it to himself, he’ll keep it.

“Oh? Where’s Niki?” it was a week before the foundation week of your school and everybody’s now begun to be busy. You’re at your classroom when you saw some of your classmates who’s member of the dance club went inside your room. Some of them looked anxious and some were obviously bothered about something.

“He’s at the dance club.” one of them answered you.

With a furrowed brows, you don’t know but you suddenly felt worried for him. These past few days, something was obviously bothering him. He’s been extra quiet in classes lately. You did approach him but every time you asked him, he frowned at you trying to shut you off.

“Can you take my place here for a while? I’m just gonna check Niki.” you asked one of your classmates. Since it’s almost foundation week, your class decided to have one booth for the event and now, your class were busy arranging it.

She nodded her head so you silently thanked her and stood up to go and see Niki yourself. Arriving in front of the room, you can already hear the overwhelming music inside. It sound lively but the energy that coming from inside seems to be off.

As you slowly opened the door to the room, one of the member of the club happen to be just going outside. He looked a bit surprised to see you at the door. He sighed heavily as he glanced over Niki who have his head down while sitting over the floor.

“Is he okay?” you asked worried.

“Yeah. You just need to leave him alone, y/n.” he straight up told you. You looked at him with your furrowed brows. He was never rude to you before and he never ever asked you to go away before. There, you already sense that something was up. They all looked stressed.

Being your stubborn self, “I just want to talk to him.” you told the guy. He let out a frustrated sigh and even tried to stop you but you glared at him.

“Seriously, y/n. I mean it. I think this isn’t the time to bother Niki.” he said in a low voice. He sounded tired.

“I’m not gonna bother him, okay? I’ll just check on him and then i’ll leave right after.” you didn’t wait for what he’s gonna say next. You just walked pass by him.

Slowly, you approached Niki who’s crouched down over the floor.

“Niki?” you called him out softly.

His head snapped over at you pretty fast and his face was blank as he looked over at you. Feeling a bit intimidated, you gulped. But that didn’t even stop you from wanting to check on him. It just made you to ask what’s going on even more. He looked stressed and you’re worried for him. Dancing is everything for him, you know how much he loves it so seeing him getting stressed by the thing he enjoys the most, bothers you.

“What are you doing here?” he coldly asked and looked away from you.

“I just want to check on you.” you honestly told him.

“You can leave now.” feeling a bit surprised by how he just shut you off, your brows furrowed even more. You approached him. One thing about you is that giving up easily is never in your choice. Specially if it involves Nishimura Riki.

“No, I won’t leave unless you talk to me.” you sound so determined as you stood in front of him.

He let out a sigh then stood up towering over you. With a glare he starred right at your soul and approached closer. That surprised you and made you step backwards from him.

“This isn’t the right time to bother me, y/n. My patience is at its worst state right now.” you gulped, slightly feeling scared by how he said that you. He continued to advance towards you while you kept stepping backwards.

“I just want to check on you because I’m worried!” you told him feeling flushed by how he’s acting.

He held your wrist a bit too tightly, n “You’re not my girlfriend so you don’t have any responsibility of checking up on me.” he said.

You were stunned by what he just said. You’ve liked Niki ever since you two were kids. You’re very vocal about it and made sure that he’s aware of it. You were told many times that you’re very passionate about your love for him. He always ignores you but that’s completely fine for you. He’s often rude but not like this.

“I.. u-uh...”

“I can’t deal with your annoying ass right now so can you just get lost?” he rudely told you.

Feeling your eyes heated up and started to tear up, you lowered your head. You felt like your heart aches so much that you can’t even notice what’s happening around you.

You pushed Niki away and started running away from him. Liking Nishimura Riki has always been a happy feeling for you, but right now you’re not sure anymore.

“Huh? Did you two fight?” one of your classmate took notice of you avoiding Niki which is very rare event. You ignored her question and just kept on writing to your notebook.

It’s been days ever since the incident in the club room happened. And you avoided Niki after that.

“Is it true, Niki? You and y/n fought?” his seat-mate asked him. Niki turned his head over at your direction and found you busy writing over at your notebook. He starred for a while before he bit the inside of his cheeks then looked away from you.

Like you, he ignored the question and decided to just continue playing with his pen. It is true that its been days since the incident and he’s been guilty ever since. He doesn’t know how to approach and say sorry since this rarely happens.

He was just really having a rough day back then and he didn’t really mean to rudely say that to you. He do admits that you’re annoying sometimes but he do enjoy your company as well. He’s used to you. Out of all the girls who confessed to him, he’s the most comfortable with you.

As the class were busy taking notes that the teacher left, Jungwon the class president-- entered the room holding some notebooks. It’s just days before the foundation day and since your class had already finished preparing for your booth, the class decided to do finish some school works first.

“Guys! Listen up.” he started and dropped the notebook over at a table. The class did looked over at him waiting for what’s he’s gonna say.

“We have a new classmate and we have to welcome him.” he announced. You sighed and faced your notebook once again. That doesn’t interest you or anything anymore since you’re not in the mood.

The class fell silent for a while as your class president told the student to come inside. Then suddenly, you heard the girls in your class murmured and giggled for some reasons. You still kept on writing, ignoring the fact that the girls in your class were making a fuss.

“I’m Watanabe Haruto. Please take care of me.” you heard someone with an unfamiliar deep voice said. Unconsciously, you raised your head up to face in front.

There you saw someone very tall stood in front of the class. His eyes looked pretty rude and for some reasons remind you of someone. Your eyes looked over Niki’s side and to your surprise, he was already looking at you.

Acting like as if you were not caught looking, you swiftly moved your eyes from him back to the new student. Jungwon was smiling beside him and then his eyes darted over your direction.

“You can sit beside, y/n. Y/n, raise your hand up.” he asked you. Rolling your eyes around, you did what you’re told to and his eyes soon darted over at your place.

He bowed a bit and started walking towards your direction and sat beside you. You’re eyeing him silently as you watch what he’s doing. Your mind kept on thinking about his surname because something about it made you interested to him.

“Watanabe, huh? Are you Japanese?” you talked to him. He moved his head towards you and smiled a little.

“Yeah. You are?” you blushed by hearing his deep voice and your eyes settled down over his hand that is now extended in front of you.

“I’m y/n.” you politely said and shook his hand. He smirked finding you cute with that blushing cheeks.

Soon, the conversation between the two of you naturally continued. Even when you two just met, you feel like you’ve known him for so long. Your laughs made some of your classmate’s head turned to your direction including Niki.

His brows furrowed at the sight of you actually getting along with the new guy. He was wondering how come you change your mood pretty fast? You were obviously very down before then now you’re laughing with that guy?

“Looks like she found her new Japanese boy.” Niki’s brows furrowed deeply at what his seat-mate has stated. Everyone was aware of how you feel towards Niki so they often tease the two of you. To see you actually having fun with the new guy and the think he’s also a Japanese, they’re teasing Niki now.

“What do you think about that?” with a big wide smile you turned your head over to Haruto, feeling excited at how he’ll gonna react about the line you just suggested.

You were at one of the benches in the garden together with Haruto. Since he’s new, you’ve been asked to tour him around the campus and basically you two became close right away.

And now, you just came up with the wonderful idea of writing a Japanese letter for Niki. You thought that maybe in that way, your confession this time will surely be memorable for him.

Yeah, apparently your love for Nishimura Riki is not that easy to forget so you decided to continue pursuing the difficult boy. And Haruto, right here, will be the one who would help you to translate the letter in Japanese.

“It sounds...” Haruto stopped from talking as he wiped away some crumbs from the side of his lips.

Your smile was still plastered over your lips as your eyes grew in full anticipation of what he’s gonna say to you.

“cheesy.” your shoulders fell in disappointment as you shoot glares towards him then he laughs at you.

“I didn’t bought that burger for you to act like this. You’re supposed to help me.” you grunted in frustration then sat down beside him. Feeling annoyed, you took a sip from your drink as Haruto watches you.

“Why don’t you just approach him and tell him how you feel? Why do you have to write it in Japanese? I don’t get your point.” he even shake his head from side to side as he took a sip from his drink as well.

You rolled your eyes before turning your head towards him. You once again stood in front of him then sighed heavily.

“Are you stupid or you’re just not listening to me? I already told you if that approach works well to Niki then we’ll probably dating right now. I did that almost everyday.” and sat back down.

“Then maybe he doesn’t really like you?” you slowly turned your head towards Haruto with that deadly expression in your face. He looked surprised and anxious right after seeing your face.

He smiled awkwardly before he started dashing away from you. You raised your fist ready to attack him and quickly went after the tall boy. He was laughing and screaming pathetically as you chase behind him.

“Yah! Come back here Watanabe!” you shouted as you continued to chase him down. The determination in you to kill him today was on fire.

Being too busy with the chase, you fail to notice the pair of eyes who’s busy watching the two of you like a hawk. A mad Hawk, very mad hawk. His eyes were piercing to the two of you that were obviously ignorant to his presence.

Niki was very upset lately just by seeing you have fun with the new boy. He thought to himself that you’re very interested with the new guy. He was somehow finding it weird since he never felt this way towards someone before.

“Do you think Niki’s mad at me?” your brows furrowed in confusion as Haruto silently asked you that one afternoon. You’re class was busy with the booth and he just randomly approached you out of nowhere and asked you that.

“Huh? No. Why would he be mad at you?” you were totally confused because that would be impossible. Haruto’s just new and besides, he’s Japanese! If anything, Niki should be glad to see someone from the same homeland.

He shrugged and helped you move some box towards the booth. “His stares were no joke whenever i’m laughing with you.”

You chuckled, “He just have rude eyes, it’s natural. Trust me, he’s just starring at you normally.” you were completely used to people saying that Niki’s mad at them. Because he have natural rude looking eyes, people often misunderstood him.

“I think he’s glaring at me.” he once again said in much lower voice. You stopped walking and faced him. You looked up, since he’s very tall.

“I swear, he isn’t mad. He’s just like that. Now let’s go.” you snaked your arm over his and started dragging him towards the booth. You don’t want to listen about people misunderstanding Niki. You kind of feel bad for him.

As you’re all busy because of the booth, you kept checking your watch because Niki will perform later with the dance that he’d been practicing for so long. You’re honestly excited for it. Even when you’re avoiding him, you made sure you’re still updated to him. You often asked about him to his group members.

“Y/n, something wrong?” one of your classmate asked you as she approach the booth.

You pouted, “Haruto isn’t here yet. He’s the one who’ll take over my spot since I wanted to go to the auditorium.” you said. Her eyes wondered around like as if she’s trying to look for someone.

“Oh~ you’re gonna watch Niki dance?” she asked you a bit teasing.

With cheeks tinted red you managed to gave her a small nod. n “Y-Yeah, I was planning to go and watch his dance. It will start in a couple minutes.” you once again checked your watch slowly getting impatient.

“Did you two made up already?” with a confused face, you looked at her.

“Huh?”

“Didn’t you had a fight? I mean some of our classmates noticed it and even teased Niki that you’ve already replaced him by Haruto.”

Your eyes grew slightly as you heard that news. You never knew about such thing! You didn’t even thought that your class would notice that you were avoiding Niki. Were you that obvious or they’re just used to with you always pestering Niki?

“I-I... Haruto’s just my friend.” you didn’t een know why you’re explaining but suddenly you just had the urge to. She looked at you a bit surprised then she chuckled afterwards.

“Shouldn’t you be saying that to Niki?” she have this teasing face once again and suddenly that dawned you. Is it the reason of he’s sudden coldness towards you?

Well, first of all, you were avoiding him. But lately, there’s something wrong with him and being someone who have the habit of watching him, it was easy for you to notice that.

You got startled when suddenly somebody just slammed their hands at the table in front of you. With glaring eyes you turned to that person and there, in front of you, was Haruto with his jersey. It looked like he just got out from his game.

“Sorry, the game ended late.” he said obviously out of air. You just gave him a nod and took of the apron so you can now leave and go to the auditorium.

“Fighting, y/n! Do you have the letter?” he asked you before you can finally leave. You smiled then nodded your head before you started running towards the auditorium.

It was packed of students and outsiders when you arrived there. It was even difficult to squeeze yourself in because of the overflowing people inside. But that didn’t stop you from trying to get in a clearer view where you can watch him dance.

It was already starting but thankfully you watched his dance. As always, it was breath-taking to watch Niki do the thing that he loved the most. You can never argue at the fact that he sure is a really great dancer.

As the crowd cheer, your smile were big too then you clapped your hands and made noise together with them. The dance was perfect and seeing Niki smile together with his team was heartwarming. You’re glad that all of his hard work ended with good result.

You waited for them to exit backstage where you plan to give the letter and maybe, clear some things out with him. Based on what your classmate just said a while ago, seems like Niki’s been misunderstanding the thing between you and Haruto. The whole class had the wrong idea and you can’t even blame whoever started that idea. Since you and Haruto were in fact always together. But that’s partly because of the letter.

When you noticed that the people are slowly getting fewer, you stood up from your place then walked your way towards the backstage. There were still a lot of student there but you were quick enough to see Niki. With a big smile and palm starting to sweat because of nervous, you started walking towards him.

But your steps halted when a girl suddenly wrapped her arms around Niki making him look startled for a while. He then turned around and you saw him smiled. Smiled... he never done that to you before.

You gulped feeling your smile slowly fading together with your eyes slowly becoming blurry because of tears. The two were acting like as if they’re not surrounded by a lot of people. It was like they were caged inside their own world...

A tear fell from your eyes together with the sound of your heart cracking. A small smile got plastered over your face as you turned your heels and started running away from him.

Your feet just kept on running and running not minding all the people around you. It was almost like it has a mind of its own.

“y/n, how did it turned--- hey are you crying?” you slowly raised your head up by the sound of the familiar voice.

Haruto was there starring at you with worried eyes. He’s now in a fresh white t-shirt and a pair of new sweatpants. You let a small smile spread through your face.

“I don’t think my feelings will be accepted, Haruto.” you muttered and he just quickly pulled you into an embrace.

You cried over his shoulders as the memory of Niki smiling and hugging a girl continuous to flash inside your mind.

Today, you’re officially heartbroken.

The news of Niki dating this girl quickly spreads to your school. It was bad timing since you clearly don’t want to hear anything about it. You’re not happy and is trying to move on so that really piss you off.

If you’re avoiding Niki before, now, you obviously can’t even stand to be near him. You tried so hard not to interact with him. The whole class of course noticed it and quickly concluded that maybe because you got rejected. Some of the girls in your class teased you but you don’t care.

You didn’t specifically got rejected since you didn’t even confessed again that time and thankfully you didn’t because that would have been so embarrassing.

“Here.” Haruto handed you water during p.e. You silently thanked him while your eyes wondered at him.

He took so long in buying water and he looked anxious for some reason. Your brows furrowed in confusion.

“Are you okay?” you asked him. He snapped his head towards you pretty fast that made you more suspicious of him.

“H-Huh? ah yeah.” he even smiled at you.

Thinking that maybe he’s just being weird like usual, you decided to shrug the thought off then ignored it. The class got finished and you were feeling a bit sticky so you decided to take a bath at the girl’s locker room.

It was your last class of the day so it was okay to take your time. Haruto told you that he can’t walk you home today because he got something to do. You told him it was totally fine and that you don’t mind because it isn’t really his responsibility to walk you home every time.

As you finish taking a shower, you cursed inside your head when you remembered that you left your textbook back in your classroom. You wanted so bad not to go back for it but there’s an assignment in that specific subject.

With steps a bit faster, you hurried yourself towards the classroom. The hallways were pretty much empty since almost all the classes were already over. Feeling a bit scared you moved quicker.

“There you are!” you muttered to yourself when you finally saw your textbook at your table. Your smile was over your lips trying to ease the fear of you being alone right now.

You were already near your table when suddenly, someone talked.

“I knew you will be here.” your head snapped towards the corner side of the once you thought, vacant room. You completely don’t have idea that somebody else was there.

“You scared me!” it was too late to stop yourself from talking to him.

“Took you long enough to go here.” Niki stood up from where he was sitting and he got both of his hands inside his pockets.

Your brows furrowed because of what you heard. What does he mean by that? And why do you even care? You need to leave him alone.

Finally back to your senses, you started walking towards the door after grabbing your text book when he suddenly shut the door in front of you, slamming it a bit hardly.

“Not so fast.” he muttered under his breath.

“What’s wrong with you? I need to go now!” you shouted at him and even tried to open the door but he didn’t let you.

“We need to talk.” he sounded calm but you’re the opposite. You don’t want to be left alone with him. You’re afraid that you’ll just breakdown in front of him. That’s the last thing that you want to happen. You don’t want to appear pathetic to him.

“I don’t want to!” you shouted once again and now tried harder to open the door.

Niki’s patient was not in the best condition again today so he let out a heavy sigh before crouching down to grab you over your waist and threw you over his shoulder. You shrieked out of surprised and you quickly hit him over his wide back.

“Don’t move too much or you’ll fall.” he said but you didn’t listen.

“My underwear’s showing you dumbass!” you felt him stiffened at what you said.

“What the hell, y/n? You’re not wearing shorts?” he panicked a bit and your eyes grew big when you felt him softly holding your skirt to keep it in place.

“put me down!” you demanded.

“I will, once you calm down.” he said that made you stop from wriggling around.

“Okay.” you tried catching your breath because of all the movement you’ve done. Niki stood in front of the teacher’s table and side eyed you.

“You sure you won’t run away once I put you down?” he raised his eyebrow trying to make sure you’re not gonna trick him or something.

“Yeah.” you lied. Of course you’ll run outside once he put you down. Never mind the textbook, you can just do the assignment tomorrow morning.

He sighed heavily and to your surprise he put you down the teacher’s table caging you in between him. He starred right at your eyes making you blush and look away.

“W-What do you want to talk about?” you felt like hitting yourself when you stuttered a bit. This isn’t the right time to stutter.

He took a deep sigh before his eyes trailed down to your slightly high skirt. His brows furrowed and clenched his jaw before he carefully fixed it.

“We need to talk about this.” you were wondering what he’s talking about so you raised your head up to look at him.

He was still starring at you as he fished something out from his pocket. Your eyes grew big at the familiar piece of paper that he carefully placed over your thigh.

“We have to talk about your letter.” he muttered using his deep voice as he kept his stares at you. Your eyes was at the letter but you can feel his stares at you.

Your mind was currently at a mess, confused as to how it ended to him when you clearly remember you threw it away. You knew you made sure it was in the trash! Haruto was even with you when... wait. Haruto...

You felt irritated at him. He must’ve been picked it up from the trash then gave it to Niki. How could he?

“How did you get this? I already threw this away!” you said feeling embarrassed just by remembering what you wrote inside.

You grabbed it and was about to ripped it but Niki was quick to retrieve it from you. “I didn’t told you to rip it, calm down.” he said stretching his arm away from you.

Since you can’t reach it, you frowned at him and just kept trying and you didn’t notice how your skirt kept on going up. Niki’s eyes darted over at it and he felt pissed looking at it. How can you be so careless?

“Stay still, will you?” he strictly told you as he swiftly put the letter back inside his pocket then fixed your skirt once again.

You crossed your arms, cheeks blushing while facing away from him. He let out a heavy sigh.

“Do you mean it?”

“Mean what?”

“What’s inside the letter.”

You scoffed, still not looking at him. “No.”

He furrowed his brows and hissed at you. “I’m not kidding here, y/n.”

You felt pissed once again so you turn your head at him, “And do I look like I’m kidding or something?” you asked sarcastically at him.

You were surprised when he suddenly slid his hand behind your nape and pulled your face close to him to the point that both of your noses were touching each other. You gulped, wasn’t able to even talk out of surprise.

“Do you mean it or not?”

You gulped, feeling a bit nervous.

“I m-mean it.” He smirked in front of you as his eyes trailed over your lips.

“Ai shiteru.” he whispered before finally kissing you at your lips. It was just a peck but your head felt light. He pulled away smiling softly at you.

But when you remember the girl at the backstage, you suddenly frowned at him.

“Are you trying to trick me? You have a girlfriend!” you shouted at him.

He looked at you innocently.

“Don’t act clueless Nishimura Riki! It was all over the campus! Don’t you dare lie at my face!” you continued.

He smirked, “That was false rumors but I do have a girlfriend now and she’s currently nagging at me.” he said that made you blush. He held your waist helping you get down the table.

“I d-didn’t said we’re dating!” you stuttered.

He smirked, “yeah yeah, whatever you say y/n.” he then started walking away from you.

“Hey, where are you going?” you said pouting then went to grab your textbook that fell when he carried you.

“Walking my girl home. Let’s go.” and he opened the door for the both you.
