Just finished a webtoon called Mage & Demon Queen and its so good!

I started a few days ago and finished the final chapter a few minutes ago

And ngl i dont read as much gl as i do bl but i really liked this one. And somepoint in season three my brain done the "if i had a nickle for every .... id have 2 nickles. As I settle into my new place, I'm just starting on decorating and furnishing the place, so I've been picking up some old furniture and beginning to paint, which is great. I'm super excited to have a fully furnished space to work from, but in the meantime it's exciting to work on the process.

I'm still not back into my regular movie-watching vibe as I'm yet to have proper wi-fi in my new place, but I've recently been going between my rewatch of BBC Merlin (always a classic) and also playing Dragon Quest XI, and as for the latter, I recommend it so much. It's such a fun game that, as many of the DQ titles do, plays a lot with and pastiches a lot of classic RPG elements, but it's also so funny and also heartfelt and really loving about its characters, so big recommend.

a gift and a curse has some viola vs violet as well. not as much, but it's present! also rated T, doflamingo x viola. this one is a soulmate AU but not in a good way lmao

for rosinante...

blood gone sour is a bit dark, (although so is doviola) but it's my most recent take on the dq bros, and has a decent bit of corazon-mask-wearing from rosinante's pov. (and even sengoku's pov). rated T, no ships, just mind the warnings.

words cut deeper is almost like a softer version of the fic above XD basically it's a... what if corazon's mask broke? and rosinante broke free just for a minute and said what was really on his mind? gen across the board.

broken fingers hold tightest, broken hearts bleed brightest is an M-rated crocodile x rosinante fic that spirals into a rosinante vs corazon identity crisis at the very end. mind the tags on that one too.

if you're willing to read a MASSIVE multichap, i do quite a bit of identity crises in 01746, but that story is chonky. M-rated rosinante x OC backstory fic. you could start at chapter 29 when he first takes on the corazon codename. a lot of chapters work well standalone in that fic too, so if you're really dying for the trope, i'd recommend chapters 32, 35, 39, and 44 XD

i am in LOVE with this trope and it almost bleeds into anything slightly canon i write with these characters. i do hope to do more with viola soon so this list can grow.

Yaroslavna Kuprina and Maria Koshkyarova are debuting gamzatti... Although I think they are amazing and have great potential it just seems too soon for me. I watched Maria's don quixote bridesmaids variation in Beijing and in my eyes it lacked a bit. I m sure that they will definitely become great ballerinas and will thrive no doubt but it feels a little rushed. What are your thoughts??

Too soon, yes. Unsurprised, no. This is the way at the Bolshoi Theater. They don't just push talent through the ranks quickly, but skip it altogether. I saw the snippet of Koshkayova's variation in DQ. She can do all the things, but I agree with you, it lacked the sparkle that makes DQ so fun. But I don't think it's indicative of much. It was a tour coming on the heels of a punishing/exhausting graduation season. Let's see if she grows as an artist. I found this interview with her rather interesting:

UPDATE HERE: I started thinking about this variation and tried to figure out why Koshkaryova's felt lacking, and here are my thoughts.

Now, here is Anna Tikhomirova dancing the same variation, (different costume.)

First off, the tempo in the first one (Koshkaryova) is downright lugubrious. And I know Maria can jump, but the grande jetes feel like she's lurching rather than floating. Swapping out jetes in a circle for Italian Fouettés at the end makes it feel like a show pony trick. But my biggest complaint is the crazy slow tempo and and lack of port do bras, which really sucks the life out of this variation. Tikhomirova's is much faster and musical, especially on the turns! I love her port de bras throughout. This feels like how this variation should be dance, full of joy and bravado. And her jumps are wonderfully light and look effortless. Not to knock Koshkaryova (and this is during a tour, which probably has its challenges, and she's *just* graduated) but this performance makes me wonder what her coaches are emphasizing.

National Fossil Day is an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations. - National Park Services

As we are a server who bases our lore very heavily on fossils, from the prehistoric environment down to our characters, the saber-toothed cats, we thought we’d hop in and celebrate this day with some fun facts about fossil animals you could possibly encounter here in the Baobab!

Deinotherium

The heavy-weight representative of TuskClan’s megafauna is colloquially known as simply “The Elephant”, though you may be quick to spot that these are no modern-day African Elephants. Instead, the proboscideans that you’d encounter out on the savanna are based on the famous extinct genus of DeinotheriumI, a close relative of modern elephants. They are known for their distinct tusk-shape, curving downwards instead of the modern elephants outward tusk!

Chameleons are some of the most recognizable reptiles on the planet, known for their prehensile tails and independently mobile eyes. Not much is known of the fossil chameleons of Africa, but there have been discoveries that show that there were indeed these funky little reptiles climbing around SunClan’s forests, changing colors to try and hide from even the most observant saber.

Euthecodon

Out in the waters of BevyClan, especially in the crocodile lake, you’re likely to find yourself face-to-snout with one of the fiercest archosaurs left on the planet, the crocodile. The genus Euthecodon comprise of three species of long-snouted crocodiles, these beasts appear to have convergently evolved their signature snouts with modern-day gharials, and had originally been thought to have been an ancestor of the croc-cousins, though research has more heavily suggested that BevyClan is indeed home to true crocodiles.

Alongside these fun fossil creatures, sabers in the baobab clans have found some unique collectibles today, be it strange bugs in tree-sap in SunClan's fallen trees, ridged shells in the cub islands of BevyClan, or odd reptilian teeth in TuskClan's sand dunes! Maybe doing a bit of research could help our sabers understand what the world was like before they were in it, and what the Baobab region looked like many moons ago....
