Today I, an aromantic, was getting ready to attend a wedding… with Stranger on repeat.

#the mechanisms #stranger #ttbt2 #i knew what i was doing when i put it on but also i am working on an addtion to my brian-jonny foils post so i was thinking about brian #its always sad brian hours #i cant really read that song separate from him anymore. honestly not sure i ever could but. its just so unconnected from anything else.-#actaea and lyssa is pretty disconnected. but its still almost certainly on the city. alice is pretty disconnected but its a result of-#king cole’s war. the most disconnected songs are redeath. the ignominious demise of dr pilchard. drop dead. hereward the wake. and stranger-#(and frankenstein but i consider that its own thing). and redeath and drop dead are my least favorite mechs songs.dr pilchard i didnt-#really care for for quite a while. stranger has so few words in it. it’s my favorite song. but the story is minimal fron the song (ie w/o-#knowing the crane wife story) so making a story around it sort of makes sense? im having a hard time with the words here. like we expect a-#story. cause that’s what the mechs do. and stranger has a story. it just doesnt have context and so creatong that context for ourselves is-#understandable. to be expected even. hope that makes sense #side note: i think it would make sense for hereward to have been from the same place (system I guess) as the people that made-#fort galfridian. i mean hereward was more of a real person than arthur (since there was no one person arthur was based on. like thats a-#whole thing) and hereward was anglo-dutch. so it makes sense hed be related to that story somehow #its just a theory. obviously. theres nothing in the songs connecting the too as far as im aware.#OH also achilles pointed out to me the anti-amatonormative/aromantic reading of stranger and i liked that a lot #hereward was anglo-danish. not anglo-dutch. sorry danish and dutch people

EVENT : emergency lockdown

With the island still under attack, all civilians (students, faculty, and island residents) have been assigned a location on the island to shelter in. Location assignments have been sent to each phone. Characters receive only their own assignments, not the entire list.

Most guards have been summoned to fight the attackers; a handful of NPC guards have been assigned to find and deliver lost civilians to their assigned shelters; all player character guards have received orders to collect supplies from designated emergency locations and proceed to an assigned shelter to protect civilians. Guards assigned to the shelters have a list of all civilians assigned to their shelter and are expected to check each of them off on arrival.

Another explosion has left half of the dormitory building collapsed, and the other half quickly following. Characters may have been in the building when it collapsed, and escape plots/injury plots are allowed!

The island is under attack by Delphine Delecaille. While the protections were down, Delphine and many of her people made it onto the island. Among the attackers is a massive purple dragon--characters may witness the dragon flying over the island, breathing fire, but should not come up against it. They may, however, encounter as many NPC attackers of various species as you please on their way to their shelter. Characters can fight and kill NPC attackers without consulting the main and without fear of consequences!

Speaking of journeys to their shelters, your character may take any roundabout journey you like to arrive there, so long as they do, eventually, arrive there. Late arrivals are allowed. Characters may spend up to two (2) days outside of the shelter. After they arrive at the shelter, they will not be allowed out, though characters with teleportation will not be bound.

Characters will not be allowed into shelters they are not assigned to, even in the name of staying with their loved ones assigned there.

While the island is under attack, cell phones on the island are misbehaving. Texts and calls are failing 9 out of 10 times.

The protective spells have been restored, but the binding spell in particular is acting up. Bound slaves may find they have access to their powers in short spurts of up to ten or fifteen minutes at a time.

Shopping // Rosamund & Lyssa

Her days had been relatively calm and quiet. Rosamund spent most of her time studying or exploring when she was not in class, not doing much for her social life just yet. The whole fun college aspect could wait, there were powers to be unlocked, strengths to be discovered…

And christmas shopping to be done.

Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year, she and Cole would help Billie prepare food, they would decorate some rooms on the house, and Billie would give them nice presents. Rosamund knew she had to send something back to her, she thought about books or maybe a painting, but she wanted to buy something rare and exotic, something that could only be bought in a place like this. But, after the third boring store, she was starting to lose hope. She eventually made it to some fancy yet generic clothes store, where she ended up looking at purses and the like. She stared at them for a few moments, before turning briefly towards the woman beside her and blurting out: “Do you know what can I get for a workaholic with no friends?”

Lyssa was Cole turner's daughter. She was hanging out near a bar, trying to get information on the winchester brothers and trying to find out while they was so interested in her. Crowley had told her the previous day, to lay low because they are looking for her.

Lyssa saw the famous impala and she walked up to it. With a mischievous smirked. She stretched the car with an old key, her dad kept after she done that. She saw Dean running up to her. “what the hell is your problem!?” he yelled. Lyssa tilted her head and replied innocently “you was the one who was looking for me?". Dean rolled his eyes, “ofc, Crowley told you ”. Lyssa nodded as she shimmered away.

Insights

-49 people voted! That’s waaay more than I expected for Round One

-Five people submitted bracket predictions. None of us guessed all eight Round One matchups right. Everyone is very much still in the game

-Choking Us and Cinders’ Song stayed tight the entire voting period and ended 26-23!! Crazy tight. Only would’ve taken two people out of 49 to flip it. Based on the prediction submissions, looks like that was an upset as well

-No Happy Ending won 45-4. To be fair, it does go hard

Cassidy Silver's life has been anything but smooth sailing. The 26-year-old singer and songwriter has found herself in the middle of numerous scandals, each more disastrous than the last.

It all started with her best friend Eva Rappaport, who was dating Quinn. When Eva and Quinn broke up, Cassidy found herself sleeping with Quinn, which ultimately led to Eva finding out. Cassidy tried to defend herself on Vainglorious stating: "It just kind of happened. I didn’t want to hurt her.” But the damage was already done. This reputation of a homewrecker has followed Cassidy everywhere. In December of 2021, Lyssa posted a comment directed towards Cassidy stating that she should've titled her album "Whore" instead.

But its just her reputation that's been tarnished. A few clothes have been stained with blood, too. She's been involved with a few physical altercations as well. She got into a fight with Margeaux at a club, which later Margeaux explained that Cassidy insinuated that Margeaux put her husband in a wheelchair. During the Vainglorious interview, Cassidy said she wasn't sure what she had told Cassidy to upset her so much. Was she just a little too drunk or embarrassed about what she’d said?

Things didn't get any better when Cassidy appeared on Starcrossed, a celebrity dating show. She got into several arguments and fights with Mia, who happens to be close friends with Margeaux. And while it seemed like she was hitting it off with Natasha Reynolds, their romance fizzled out for unknown reasons. I can’t tell who I want to be LESS in this equation.

As if all that wasn't enough, Cassidy was caught being the other woman yet again. She was caught sleeping with Eva, despite the fact that Eva was engaged to Cole. This led to another fight with Margeaux, but neither of them have said anything about it. Shocker.

It's clear that Cassidy's life has been disastrous so far, with scandal after scandal tarnishing her reputation. While some may see her as a homewrecker or troublemaker, others may sympathize with her and see her as a victim of circumstance. Whatever the case may be, it's clear that Cassidy Silver's life is anything but boring.
