Love and Magic Unite in Aeloria's Balance
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow across the enchanted land of Aetheria, the powerful sorcerers, Eldric and Arabelle, stood side by side in their tower. The air was thick with magic as they prepared to cast a spell that could change the fate of their world. Eldric, an experienced sorcerer, had been mentoring his apprentice, Thane, for many years. Thane admired and respected his mentor, but he couldn't help but feel a deep connection with Arabelle, Eldric's apprentice and a skilled sorceress in her own right. As they stood together, their eyes locked, and the tension between them was palpable. "Thane, what do you see?" Arabelle whispered, breaking the silence. "I see... possibilities," Thane replied, his voice barely audible above the hum of magic in the air. Arabelle smiled, a look of pure mischief in her eyes. "And I see love," she teased. The two apprentices exchanged glances, their hearts racing with anticipation. Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled as an insurmountable obstacle emerged from the shadows. A terrifying creature, a fusion of darkness and magic, threatened to destroy everything they had worked for. Eldric and Arabelle braced themselves, knowing that only their combined power could hope to defeat this menace. "Thane, now is not the time for distractions," Eldric warned, his voice steady despite the fear in his eyes. "We must focus on our task at hand." But Thane's love for Arabelle had only grown stronger. He knew that together they could face any challenge, and so he reached out to her, their hands meeting in a comforting grasp. "You are right, Eldric," Thane said, his voice filled with conviction. "Together, we can overcome this." As the battle commenced, Thane and Arabelle fought side by side, their magic weaving together like threads of silk. With each spell cast and each blow struck, they grew stronger, their love for one another a beacon of hope that lit up the darkness around them. In the end, they emerged victorious, their bond stronger than ever before. With the insurmountable obstacle defeated, the world of Aetheria was once again safe. Eldric and Arabelle, now fully-fledged sorcerers, continued to mentor Thane and their fellow apprentices, their love for each other a testament to the power of unity and passion. The sun had just begun to set, casting an orange and pink hue over the landscape as Aria and her apprentice, Liora, practiced their spells. The two powerful sorcerers were known far and wide for their abilities, but no one knew about the budding romance between them. They practiced together every evening, honing their skills and bonding over their shared passion for magic. Aria, a fiery redhead with piercing blue eyes, focused her energy into a burst of flame, while Liora, a tall woman with raven hair and icy blue eyes, created a swirling snowstorm in response. Their magic danced around them, a beautiful display of their combined talents. As they finished their practice session, Aria hesitated before speaking. "Liora," she began, her voice soft and uncertain. "I've been thinking... I can't imagine a more capable apprentice than you. And as for me..." She paused, taking a deep breath. "I find myself drawn to you in ways I never expected." Liora blushed, but she returned Aria's gaze with an intensity that mirrored her own feelings. "Aria," she whispered, "I've felt the same way for some time now. You are my mentor and my friend, but more than that, you are... everything to me." The two sorcerers leaned in and shared a tender kiss, their hearts swelling with newfound love. But they knew their happiness was far from guaranteed. An insurmountable obstacle loomed on the horizon, threatening to tear them apart. The Enchanted Spellbound, a powerful artifact that granted its wielder immense magical power, had been stolen by an enemy sorcerer. If not recovered, this could mean the end of all they held dear. In a climactic battle against the dark sorcerer and his minions, Aria and Liora fought side by side, their combined magic a force to be reckoned with. As the dust settled and victory was won, they embraced once more, their love stronger than ever before. Through adversity and personal growth, they had overcome the obstacle and found happiness in each other's arms. In the mystical land of Aetheria, two powerful sorcerers, Master Eldric and Master Gavriel, trained their apprentices with unyielding dedication. Among them were the talented but introverted Kael and the fierce and determined Elara. Despite their vastly different personalities, they found solace in each other's company, forging a strong bond over shared interests and dreams of becoming great sorcerers. As their powers grew, so did their feelings for one another, and they could no longer deny the undeniable attraction between them. However, a forbidden love between apprentices and masters was strictly prohibited in Aetheria, and Master Eldric and Master Gavriel were relentless in their efforts to keep Kael and Elara apart. The insurmountable obstacle that loomed over their relationship was the ancient prophecy that predicted the end of Aetheria at the hands of a powerful sorceress named Morgana. To prevent this catastrophe, Kael and Elara had to learn an enchanting spell from the forbidden tome, "The Enchanted Spellbound." The book was said to contain the secrets of the most potent spells in existence, but to access its knowledge, they had to face a trial that tested their courage, wisdom, and love for each other. As the trial commenced, Kael and Elara found themselves battling hordes of dark creatures, overcoming seemingly impossible challenges, and deciphering cryptic riddles. Through it all, their love only grew stronger, and they realized that their bond was their greatest strength. With newfound confidence, they cast the enchanting spell from the forbidden tome, which unleashed a powerful force that banished Morgana and her army of darkness from Aetheria forever. In the aftermath of their triumph, Master Eldric and Master Gavriel finally acknowledged the depth of Kael and Elara's love, as well as their own undeniable feelings for each other. The sorcerers and their apprentices embraced each other in a loving embrace, vowing to support one another through all trials and tribulations. And so, the four sorcerers continued to learn, grow, and thrive together, with their unbreakable bonds of friendship and love guiding them towards even greater heights in Aetheria's mystical realm. In the mystical land of Aeloria, two powerful sorcerers, Eldric and Eadric, were renowned for their mastery over arcane magic. They each had a talented apprentice - Lyra, a fiery redhead with a quick wit, and Kael, a calm and composed individual with a gentle demeanor. The four of them were inseparable, sharing adventures and secrets as they honed their magical skills. As time passed, a fierce rivalry between Eldric and Eadric began to brew, fueled by their differing beliefs on the use of magic. This tension soon affected their apprentices, with Lyra and Kael finding themselves drawn together in a quiet romance. Despite the growing rift between their mentors, they cherished their moments alone, sharing whispered confidences beneath the stars. One day, an ancient spellbook was discovered in the depths of Aeloria's greatest library. The tome contained an enchantment so powerful that it could grant the caster's deepest desires. However, there was a catch - only one who possessed both immense magical prowess and unwavering purity of heart could wield its power without being consumed by it. Eldric and Eadric, sensing the potential to settle their rivalry, began a frantic race to obtain the spellbook. Lyra and Kael, desperate to protect their love and the world they lived in, joined forces to thwart their mentors' schemes. Through cunning and teamwork, they managed to seize the enchanted tome before it could be used for destructive purposes. With the power of the spellbook in their hands, Lyra and Kael faced their greatest challenge yet - using the enchantment to bridge the divide between Eldric and Eadric. The two sorcerers, witnessing the unwavering love and courage displayed by their apprentices, realized that their rivalry had been futile and destructive. United once more, they used the spellbook's power to heal Aeloria and bring about an era of peace and prosperity. Through their trials, Lyra and Kael grew stronger, both as individuals and in their love for one another. Their journey taught them that true power lay not in rivalry or enchantments, but in unity, understanding, and the unyielding bonds of friendship. In the mystical land of Aeloria, two powerful sorcerers, Eldric and Eadric, had been rivals for decades due to their differing beliefs on the use of magic. Their apprentices, Lyra and Kael, were also bound by their master's rivalry, though they secretly admired each other. One day, during a fierce magical competition, Eldric and Eadric discovered an ancient spellbook hidden within the heart of Aeloria's enchanted forest. The spellbook contained an enchantment so powerful that it could grant the caster's deepest desires, but only if used with immense magical prowess and unwavering purity of heart. Eldric and Eadric became obsessed with obtaining the spellbook, believing it to be the key to ultimate power. Their apprentices, Lyra and Kael, knew that the spellbook could cause untold destruction if used incorrectly, so they decided to protect their love and the world they lived in by seizing the enchanted tome before it could fall into the wrong hands. Lyra and Kael found solace in each other's company as they guarded the spellbook, and their quiet romance blossomed amidst the chaos. The two young sorcerers vowed to use the spellbook's power for good, and together they began learning how to harness its immense energy responsibly. One fateful day, Eldric and Eadric finally discovered where the apprentices were hiding the spellbook. A fierce battle ensued between the two groups of sorcerers, with spells and enchantments flying through the air. As the conflict raged on, Lyra and Kael knew they had to find a way to end the fighting and protect their love. In a moment of inspiration, Kael cast a powerful spell that caused the entire forest to tremble, capturing the attention of both groups. As everyone stared in shock at the display before them, Lyra stepped forward and used the spellbook's power to bridge the divide between Eldric and Eadric. The two sorcerers, moved by the sight of their apprentices' love, finally put aside their differences and united their magical forces. Together, the powerful sorcerers healed Aeloria, bringing about an era of peace and prosperity. Through their trials, Lyra and Kael grew stronger in their love for one another and learned that true power lies in unity, understanding, and the unyielding bonds of friendship. Lyra and Kael, the apprentices of these powerful sorcerers, were entrusted with the task of protecting the spellbook. Eldric and Eadric's obsession with the spellbook led them to clash constantly, each determined to claim it for themselves. Their rivalry extended beyond their magical abilities, as they fought over every aspect of life in Aeloria, from the most mundane to the most significant. Despite their apprentices' dedication, Lyra and Kael struggled to maintain their focus amidst the chaos caused by their masters. They had begun to develop feelings for one another, but fearing the repercussions of their growing attraction, they kept it a secret. Their bond grew stronger as they spent more time together, protecting the spellbook and studying its contents. One day, while Lyra and Kael were guarding the spellbook in hiding, they overheard a conversation between Eldric and Eadric that revealed their plan to use the enchantment to gain ultimate power. Realizing the impending danger, the apprentices knew they had to act. Lyra and Kael decided to confront their masters, hoping to reason with them. However, Eldric and Eadric refused to listen, and a heated argument ensued. As tensions rose, Lyra and Kael cast a defensive spell over the spellbook, preventing it from being used for evil purposes. The power of their combined magic surprised even them, and they realized that true strength came from working together. The apprentices confronted Eldric and Eadric once more, this time demanding they use the enchantment to heal the land instead of destroying it. Reluctantly, the sorcerers agreed, and with a powerful spell cast by both sides, the enchantment healed Aeloria's wounded lands, restoring balance and harmony. To their amazement, the wound healed almost instantly, and a warm, tingling sensation spread throughout her body. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the village of Lorenswood. Lyra and Kael stood side by side, gazing at the breathtaking sight. Their apprenticeship had been filled with intense rivalry and fierce competition, but as they watched the sky, a shared silence enveloped them. "Kael," Lyra began hesitantly, "I've always admired your dedication to magic." She hesitated before adding, "And I... I find myself drawn to you." Kael's eyes widened in surprise, but he managed a gentle smile. "Lyra, I never thought you'd feel the same way. But I... I do too." A sudden gust of wind swept through the village square, and they could sense something was amiss. The once calm atmosphere had shifted to one of urgency. They knew they had to act swiftly. "We must return the spellbook to its rightful place," Kael whispered, his voice laden with determination. "The balance of light and darkness in Aeloria depends on it." Lyra nodded, her eyes filled with resolve. "Together, we can overcome this insurmountable obstacle." With newfound purpose, they rushed towards the tower where Eldric and Eadric were desperately trying to unlock the ancient spellbook's secrets. As they entered, they found their mentors standing before an enormous crystal, its surface shimmering with the power of forbidden magic. "You've come to claim the spellbook," Eadric sneered. "But are you prepared to face the consequences?" Lyra and Kael exchanged a glance, then turned back to their mentors. "We choose to preserve the balance between light and darkness," Lyra declared, her voice steady. "And together, we shall heal Aeloria," Kael added, his voice strong with conviction. In that moment, they felt a surge of power coursing through them, stronger than any magic they had ever experienced before. They knew they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead and that their love would only grow stronger as they faced the world together. They spent their days training under their mentors, learning powerful spells, and exploring the magical world of Aeloria. The powerful spellbook that contained an enchantment capable of destroying the balance between light and darkness had been entrusted to Lyra and Kael, and they knew their duty was to return it to its rightful place. ``` "We must protect this spellbook at all costs," whispered Kael, his eyes filled with determination. "It holds the key to maintaining harmony in Aeloria." Lyra nodded, her heart swelling with pride and love for her fellow apprentice. "I promise, we will do everything in our power to ensure the balance remains intact." As they ventured forth, Lyra and Kael encountered insurmountable obstacles, but their bond only grew stronger. They faced dark sorcerers, treacherous landscapes, and even the wrath of their own mentors. Through it all, they remained steadfast in their mission to protect the spellbook and preserve the balance between light and darkness. In the climactic battle against a formidable enemy, Lyra and Kael found themselves cornered, with nowhere left to run. But as they stood together, their love and unity summoned an unparalleled power. "We must find them," Eldric whispered, his voice barely audible. "We cannot allow the enchantment to fall into the wrong hands." They knew that their apprentices, Lyra and Kael, had been entrusted with the task of protecting the spellbook, and they would do everything in their power to ensure its safety. As Lyra and Kael ventured deeper into the forest, their shared secret weighed heavily on them. "I hope Eldric and Eadric don't find out about us," Kael whispered nervously, his voice barely audible over the rustling leaves. Lyra, however, was more confident in their mentors' understanding. "They are wise and compassionate," she reassured him, her hand gently touching his. "I believe they would understand." Their journey took them through treacherous terrain and dangerous encounters with mythical creatures. In a moment of vulnerability, Kael revealed the true depths of his feelings for Lyra. "You are my entire world, Lyra," he said earnestly, his voice cracking with emotion. "I can't imagine my life without you." Lyra, taken aback by his confession, found herself reciprocating her feelings. "Kael, I... I love you too," she stammered, tears welling up in her eyes. In that moment, they knew that their love could withstand any obstacle, even the perilous journey to return the spellbook. As Lyra and Kael's love grew stronger, so did their resolve. And though their journey had been filled with insurmountable obstacles, the power of love ultimately triumphed. Lyra and Kael stood in the heart of Aeloria, their eyes locked as they felt the pull of destiny drawing them together. The enchanting air around them was palpable, the connection between them undeniable. "I never thought I'd find someone like you," Kael whispered, his voice barely audible above the wind. "Me neither," Lyra replied, her eyes filled with warmth and understanding. In that moment, they knew that their feelings were not just a fleeting infatuation, but something more profound. Their hearts pounded in unison as they realized that their love could be a force for good in Aeloria, the very realm they had been sworn to protect. But first, they needed to face the obstacles that stood before them - powerful sorcerers who sought to control the balance of light and darkness in their world. As Lyra and Kael trained under Eldric and Eadric, they discovered that the rival sorcerers were not all they seemed. They found themselves at the center of a prophecy, one that spoke of two apprentices who would protect a spellbook containing an enchantment capable of destroying balance in Aeloria. As they delved deeper into their studies, Lyra and Kael grew closer, their love blossoming amidst the ancient tomes and mystical spells. Their journey took them through treacherous landscapes and dangerous encounters, but it was the climactic battle that truly tested their resolve. With the world hanging in the balance, they faced off against Eldric and Eadric in a duel of magic and wit. But instead of anger or betrayal, Lyra and Kael found understanding and love. In that moment, they knew they had to protect Aeloria from the enchantment's devastating effects. With love and unity, they vanquished their foes and mended the realm, bringing harmony to all. Through it all, they grew and found happiness, their hearts forever intertwined in the magical tapestry of Aeloria. Lyra and Kael stood in the heart of Aeloria, feeling a strong connection drawing them together. They acknowledged their feelings and realized that their love could be a force for good in Aeloria. As they trained under Eldric and Eadric, they discovered that the rival sorcerers were not all they seemed. "Do you ever feel like we're being watched?" Kael asked Lyra as they practiced their spells. "I have my suspicions," Lyra replied, her voice low. "But we must remain focused on our training." As they embarked on a journey through treacherous landscapes and dangerous encounters, they found that their love only grew stronger. They knew that the balance of light and darkness in Aeloria depended on them. One day, Lyra and Kael confronted Eldric and Eadric about their secret romance. To their surprise, the rival sorcerers found understanding and love instead of anger or betrayal. Together, they discovered a powerful healing spell that could mend Aeloria and bring harmony to the realm. In the climactic battle against the enchantment's devastating effects, Lyra and Kael protected Aeloria with love and unity. Their love had transformed them into forces for good, and they found personal growth and happiness in their hearts forever intertwined in the magical tapestry of Aeloria. Lyra and Kael had always been apprentices to rival sorcerers, but their secret romance began to bloom in the heart of Aeloria. As they journeyed through treacherous landscapes and dangerous encounters, they developed a deep understanding of each other and the world around them. Their love for one another grew stronger as they faced insurmountable obstacles together. One day, Lyra and Kael stumbled upon an ancient spellbook containing an enchantment that could destroy balance in Aeloria. With their combined knowledge and skills, they protected the spellbook from those who sought to use it for evil purposes. As they continued to grow closer, they also faced opposition from their mentors, Eldric and Eadric, who were initially angered by their secret romance. However, as Lyra and Kael demonstrated their commitment to preserving the balance of light and darkness in Aeloria, Eldric and Eadric found understanding and love instead of anger or betrayal. Together, they mended the realm with a powerful healing spell, bringing harmony to all. The young apprentices had not only saved Aeloria but also found personal growth and happiness in their hearts, forever intertwined in the magical tapestry of Aeloria. Lyra and Kael stood side by side, their hands gripping the edges of the ancient spellbook tightly. The air crackled with magic as they whispered an incantation to protect its secrets. "Do you think we'll ever find out what this enchantment does?" Kael asked nervously. Lyra shook her head, her eyes locked on the mystical symbols before them. "We must focus on our training first. We are not ready for such power." The two apprentices trained day and night, learning to harness their magic under the watchful gaze of their mentors, Eldric and Eadric. Despite the rivalry between their masters, Lyra and Kael found solace in each other's company. Their friendship blossomed into a secret romance, their hearts beating in unison with every whispered confession. As their love grew stronger, so did the obstacles they faced. Dark forces threatened to disrupt the balance of light and darkness in Aeloria, and Lyra and Kael knew they had to protect the spellbook at all costs. With each challenge, their bond grew deeper, and together they overcame every insurmountable task. "I never thought I'd say this," Eadric finally admitted, "but you two have grown stronger than I ever expected." Eldric nodded, his eyes filled with pride. "It's true. You've both shown incredible growth and dedication to your craft." In the climactic battle against the dark forces, Lyra and Kael stood united, their love a beacon of hope in the face of despair. With a powerful spell, they vanquished their foes, and the balance of light and darkness was restored. Eldric and Eadric watched, amazed, as the two apprentices healed Aeloria with a spell of profound power. They found understanding and love where there had only been rivalry before, and together they brought harmony to their realm. Through it all, Lyra and Kael's hearts remained entwined, a testament to the strength of their love and the magic that bound them together. Lyra and Kael, both apprentices to rival sorcerers, found themselves drawn together despite the animosity between their masters. They shared stolen glances during lessons and secretly met under the full moon to discuss their dreams of a world where light and darkness coexisted in harmony. Their love blossomed like the enchanted flowers that grew only in Aeloria's magical groves. One fateful day, Lyra and Kael discovered a hidden chamber in the depths of Eldric and Eadric's libraries. Inside, they found an ancient spellbook containing a powerful enchantment capable of disrupting the balance between light and darkness. They knew they had to protect it at all costs. "We must return this spellbook to its rightful place," Kael whispered, his voice laced with determination. "The fate of Aeloria hangs in the balance." Lyra nodded solemnly. "Together, we will face any obstacle and protect our world." As they embarked on their quest, Lyra and Kael encountered countless challenges. They fought fearsome creatures and deciphered cryptic riddles, growing closer with each triumph. Yet, the most insurmountable obstacle loomed ahead: confronting their masters and revealing their secret romance. In the climactic battle that followed, Lyra and Kael fought side by side, their love for one another giving them strength. Eldric and Eadric, witnessing the power of love and unity, found understanding and forgiveness where once there had only been anger and resentment. They healed their rift, performing a powerful healing spell that mended Aeloria and brought harmony to the realm. Through personal growth and happiness, they came to understand that the true magic lay in the balance between light and darkness, and the love that united them all.

writing prompts! dragon-y edition
"Welcome to the lair of Gerald, please take a number and wait over there."
"What, did you think these scales were painted on?"
"Oh goody, a human. Do you have a good reason to be camping on my back?"
"No, no, come back! I'm only dangerous if you step on my tail."
"How about if I make you a nice little humungous campfire and you can tell me about your quest?"
"I can only make pots of tea, you have to find your own cup. Now, what was it you wanted from my hoard?"
"This is my hoard, I collect orphans and train them to be knights since you lot are so bad at it."
"Congratulations, you've chosen a cursed sword. Good luck and good riddance!"
"You may command a single act from me, so think very hard before doing so."
"Well, you've saved my life. Want to start a war?"
"I thought all the dragon riders were extinct!"
"If your kingdom doesn't miss you, I'm happy to have a companion."
"The thing is, dragons can't read, so all our stories are memorized. If you want to know the truth, it's going to take a few hours."
"If you want scales for your armor, it's going to cost you. Taking your firstborn might be outlawed, but your third child is acceptable."
"No, dragons don't win wars for humans. I'll sit very nicely at the truce meeting and puff some smoke once in a while if you like, though."
"This year's crop of apprentices aren't looking very bright. Maybe we ought to consider raiding the wizard school again."
"Yes, I did burn your son, but he was trying to kill me. You, however, are annoying me, a far more serious crime, so I might just have to reduce you to ash."
"Dragon's blood? What kind of dark magic are you getting up to?"
"Yes, I do sometimes do transformations. Dragon is the most costly, though, so you better have gold."
"Do you have any good reason for trespassing or should I burn you to a crisp right here?"
"There's a reason my mountain is surrounded by nearly impenetrable thorns."
"You're late on tribute."
"I'm searching for a rare plant for my hoard and I hear you're an expert."
"I only break curses on Tuesdays, so come back then."
"If I bathe your sword in dragon fire, you have to set me free. In fact, you have to set me free first. Dragons have to keep their promises, so get to work on your end."
for @lyra-brie specifically, I hope some of these are in the vicinity of what you were looking for

"excitable and sweet, Jolt Drive, or simply JD, is a young weaponry designer. she's creative and clever, but has made it quite clear she's still learning. sure she trips up and messes up her words. sometimes she's too naive and forgiving. but don't let those traits fool you. she works smarter and harder to get to her end goals." this took 3 days... ;-; she has such a big wardrobe. i will admit that this was a doozy of a ref. but i'm proud of it. her human everyday outfits 1-7 are based off of stuff i own. they're based off of what she would as a human in the transformers movies but they work for different universe too. everyday 1 - Transformers, TFA everyday 2 - Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, TFP everyday 3 - Transformers Dark of the Moon, RID 2015, Cyberverse everyday 4 - Transformers Age of extinction everyday 5 - Transformers The Last Knight everyday 6 - Bumblebee, G1 everyday 7 - Transformers Rise of the Beasts, Earthspark, IDW
the dark grey hearts on her designs connect to form constellations in July that are Visible from Italy. her feet are also meant to have the flat part at the toe to mimic ballerina point shoes. her skirt and boots for party are meant to be holographic purple and her jacket is meant to be a metalic galaxy print lol.
TFP, RID - Auriga (the charioteer) TFA - Corona Borealis (the northern crown) G1 - Coma Berenices (the Bernice's hair) Bayverse v1 (transformers, RotF, DotM, Bumblebee RotB) - Andromeda (the princess) bayverse v2 (AoE) - Cassiopea (the seated queen) Bayverse V3 (TLK) - Canis Venatici (the hunting dogs) IDW - Cancer (the crab) Earthspark - Monoceros (the unicorn) Cyberverse - Lyra (the lyre)
i stuck with my idea for different movies she looks different to kinda show her mood and outlook.
anyway, backstory time
JD, also known as Jolt Drive, is BumbleBee's energetic girlfriend and apprentice to Crosshairs. She loves fashion and make-up and studies design. JD was sent to study on earth, unaware the war would reach her and drag her in, which is something she wanted to avoid for a long time. She is taught under the weapons designer, Crosshairs. Her weaponry is famously non-lethal and one of her most famous designs is known as the Apparatus, which can turn into weaponized versions of rhythmic gymnastics apparatus. However, She also has ASD and has to remember to turn everyone down to not be overstimulated from the noise. She also is very jumpy and has a strong Italian accent that isn't always easy to read. her first earth language is Italian and speaks only Italian when she's tired. She has a group of friends that were her exchange trip classmates in Japan. She makes non lethal weaponry mostly because she has a vow. an order from her home asks that she never kills. She may injure but never end another's life. She upholds this vow and gets angry when people try to make her go against it. Her family is very influential in her home but she's refusing to say where she's from. She and Bumblebee are very very much in love. They made a promise to conjunx after JD finished her studies. Her family also adopted Jetfire and Jetstorm as her brothers. she has a sneaking suspicion about someone who died in her family and thinks she knows where to look for the culprit.

Chapter 3: In Which Fuel is Added to Fire
Twig had to get a job eventually, but none of the openings in Verdant Village worked with her expertise. Technically she could start another apprenticeship— maybe learn carpentry under a nearby watchog who was looking for workers, or figure out how to cook using something other than a single vegetable grilling strategy by working as a apprentice for the restaurant run by that one tangrowth— but none of them sounded particularly appealing. Lucky for her, she came across an idea when she set up a small stand to sell some excess loot from mystery dungeons she didn’t need. The items were all gone in a flash, and Twig made a pretty penny for what was absolutely useless to her. After all, what was she going to do with a rollcall orb when she didn’t have any teammates to explore with?
Thus began a little business operation inspired by the Kecleon Market back in Treasure Town. She’d go dungeon crawling, pick up as much loot as she could carry, keep what she could use, and sell the rest. As a nod to the Guild, she let frequent customers know they could contact Chatot about any inquiries on starting an exploration team or apprenticing within Wigglytuff’s ranks, and gave discounts to exploration teams that passed through the area when they showed her their explorer badges. It was nice. It gave her the excuse to keep exploring, and she made more than enough money to keep from digging into her savings— as extravagant as they were, she didn’t want to live above her means.
That was how she found herself in Mount Travail— it was one of the closer dungeons with better loot, so she would make longer trips to it every so often to stock up on the rarer items you could find there. It was a simple, routine trip that she set off on. Honestly, it wasn’t even like she had brought her larger bag to stock up on things more intensely. She just wanted to get some fresh air and be productive doing it, so she’d slung a smaller bag over her shoulder and hiked up to the mid-section of the mountain where the mystery dungeon had formed for a nostalgic grocery run.
She found an apple that was the size of Lyra’s head and nabbed it to give to her on her way home. Their chats had calmed down once Lyra ran out of questions to ask her, but the kid still loved to hang around Twig and show off her homemade exploration gear. Twig tried not to think too much on how her enthusiasm despite her timidity reminded her of Azurill. How old was he now? Gosh, she felt old… She needed to send him and Marill a letter.
She was halfway through the dungeon when she felt it— a weird sort of prickling itch traveling up and down her spine. She shrugged it off. Maybe she’d been lingering too long in the dungeon and it was getting ready to blow her out of its turf? No problem, she could pick up the pace. She’d already gotten everything she needed— orbs and bands, a few baubles that she could send back to Croagunk as a thank-you for not stealing her teeth or anything during her apprenticeship, and a number of foods she could stick in her stock pot back home and make a stew out of— so she could make a beeline for the exit.
She entered the next floor.
The feeling didn’t dissipate.
It got worse.
She felt like something was behind her, but everytime she looked, the most she saw was an occasional pokemon sizing her up from the sides of the path, and never approaching. The space behind her was always empty. Nothing was there. No one was there. Yet the sense of paranoia still nipped at her mind, and she couldn’t shake the unease that it filled her with. Something was off, and she couldn’t figure out why.
Or at least, she couldn’t figure it out until she turned a corner and spotted him. She didn’t scream, surprisingly, but she did leap about three yards away in a panic.
Darkrai lurked deep within a grove of trees, almost entirely concealed by the trunk of one oak and a cluster of tall ferns, looking just as startled as she felt when their eyes met.

It had been another successful delivery assisted by the midwife and her apprentice, Lyra.
Tumblr media
The baby was a girl, and a beautiful one, with big brown eyes and soft curls.
While the new mother, Miss Thistledown Rosebees, had a warm bath and then sat by the fire with a bowl of soup in her hands, Lyra was given the task of rocking and soothing the baby to sleep. She wrapped the little girl in a warm wool blanket made from soft woven moss, and set her to down in the wooden cradle.
Tumblr media
The winter winds were blowing outside the small cottage. Snow had fallen the night before, but the sun was out and shining through the windows, warming the room pleasantly.
“What will you name the baby?” Lyra asked Thistledown, rocking the cradle with her hand.
“I haven’t chosen a name yet,” said Thistledown. “I .”
“It’s best to name the baby as soon as possible,” said the midwife. “That will protect it from curses, charms, and--”
Thistledown’s face changed. She stood up suddenly from her chair, looking over at the cradle. “No!” she shouted.
Lyra looked too.
The cradle was empty.
Tumblr media
All Lyra could do was stare. She had set the baby down only moments ago, and the child had been fast asleep immediately. Surely she hadn’t climbed out of the cradle in that short time!
But the midwife didn’t blame Lyra, or even ask her what had happened. Instead, she turned to the new mother, a question in her gaze.
Thistledown looked confused for a moment, before she sighed and sat down again, her head in her hands. “I know what’s happened. Oh, I know for sure. It’s my fault. I had hoped this day would never come!”
“Tell us,” said the midwife. “But I think I know the answer to the mystery of why an unnamed child has been quickly and magically spirited away.”
“When I was a very young girl,” said Thistledown, “I found a pile of gold coins, geodes, and gemstones hidden inside a hollow log. I tried to stuff a handful into my apron pocket and run away, but a diamond knife had pinned down my skirt, because that was more than just an ordinary log. It was the tunnel into the Underground Hall of the Gnome Realm. Gnora the Gnome Queen found me there, pinned to the earth, and refused to release me with the treasures in hand. Unless I promised something in return.”
“Your firstborn child?” the midwife asked. Lyra thought she didn’t sound surprised at all.
“Exactly that. And I was so young, of course I immediately agreed. But I reasoned with myself that I didn’t have a child at the time, so I might as well have promised nothing at all. I had hoped the promise was forgotten. Or at the very least, I thought I could easily defend my child from being stolen by a creature as small as a gnome. And the worst part of all was that the jewels I had put in my pocket were false. They had turned into snail shells by the time I arrived home. So I couldn’t even trade the jewels again, in exchange for my baby.”
Now it was the midwife who gave a heavy sigh. She turned to look at her apprentice, and Lyra knew right then what she was about to be asked to do.
“You have a gift, Lyra," the midwife said. “You always find a way to get what you want from anyone.”
Tumblr media
As she followed the stream that flowed into the underground kingdom of the gnomes, Lyra thought hard about what the midwife had said. Did she really have that gift? Maybe she truly did. After all, in the span of less than a year, she had dealt with fairies, trolls, and talking animals, and had yet to be outsmarted by any of them.
Surely, negotiating the rescue of a human child from a gnome queen would be possible. Wouldn’t it?
When she reached the hollow log, she knew right away she was in the right place. She could spot a pile of glittering jewels, illuminated by the sunlight pouring into the cracks in the woods. It must be bait, she realized. The gnomes must use this method to strike bargains and steal away all sorts of children!
She slowly reached toward it, hoping this would summon the queen. Gnomes had their own magic, although it wasn’t nearly as powerful as they wanted everyone else to believe.
Summoning the queen was precisely what happened.
Tumblr media
“That’s my treasure!” Gnora the Gnome Queen shouted from her perch atop a nearby stone. Two gnome princesses stood silently by her side. “You can’t have it unless you can trade for it!”
Tumblr media
Lyra stood up. “I don’t want your treasure. I know it’s not real, and that it will all turn to snail’s shells once I leave your presence. What I want is for you to return the child you stole from a new mother this morning.”
“Certainly not!” the queen declared.
“It was an unfair trade,” Lyra insisted. “You made the bargain with a child who was barely out of her own infancy. That was a cruel way to get what you wanted in exchange for nothing at all.”
Tumblr media
Queen Gnora laughed. Lyra couldn’t see her eyes, but she could feel their cold glare. “The only trade I’ll accept is for another child to take the place of the one I was given today.”
Lyra was becoming frustrated, and a little scared. She had no desire to return empty-handed, but she had nothing to offer the gnome.
“Why do you want a human baby, anyway?” she asked the queen. “What good is a child to you?”
Gnora laughed again, and louder this time. “You don’t know much about the world, do you?” she shouted. “Of course not. You’re not too far beyond your own childhood. Then listen to me well, girl child. I will give that baby a better life than she would have up here.” The way the queen said those last two words conveyed disdain and disgust. “We have beautiful palaces and castles in the realms below. The stars in your night sky are far surpassed in beauty by the sparkling caverns of crystals above our heads. We have no wars, no conflicts. Nobody feels the pain of hunger, or cold, or abandonment. The baby will grow up with no memory of the world into which she was born. Soon, she will no longer even be a human. She’ll become a gnome just like the rest of us, and she will never have the desire to leave my realm. Go home, little girl, and forget for the baby. I won’t do business with you today, or ever again.”
Tumblr media
Gnora the Gnome Queen departed from her throne, and scurried into the hollow log that was the passageway to her realm.
Tumblr media
Lyra sat on the hollow log to think. She tried not to cry. She had lost her only chance at bringing the baby back. And while she hated to crush the confidence the midwife had in her, she feared most to hear the cries of Thistledown Rosebees.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw movement and two flashes of bright colors.
Tumblr media
There stood the gnomelet princesses, staring at her, saying nothing. Had they not followed their mother the queen back under the ground?
Lyra was in no mood to wonder why they had stayed behind. “What do you want?” she snapped.
No response. Only silent gazes from eyes underneath their pointed caps. But she had the feeling that they weren’t looking at her face.
That gave her an idea.
She plucked a button from her waistcoat.
Tumblr media
“You like gold, don’t you?” she asked them, opening her hand to reveal the button. She lowered her hand, and they cautiously crept closer to it. “Won’t this pretty trinket look lovely in your mother’s pile of shiny treasures? It will be yours, if you bring me the baby. You can do that, can’t you?” She set the coin down onto the stone, and the gnomelets snatched it up and scurried away, into the hollow log where there mother had departed.
She watched them go. She waited a moment to see if they’d come back with what she had asked for, but was startled to hear a little mewing noise behind her, like a kitten.
There was Thistledown’s baby, lying under a juniper tree. Confused, but unharmed. Gnome magic truly was an unseen power.
Tumblr media
Lyra lifted the child into her arms and headed back towards the cottage.
Tumblr media
As she walked, she couldn’t help but wonder if what Gnora had said was true. Was life underground really so glorious? What if the caves and caverns beneath the earth held all sorts of strange wonders she could never imagine?
She thought about the time she had found a geode that felt as lightweight as an empty bird’s egg. She had cracked it open, and found a tiny cavern of crystals inside. Little jewels that had been hidden from the light of the sun since they were formed deep in the belly of the earth. She had longed to make herself as small as a flea, and explore the nooks and crevices of the sparkling gems. What if the world were a large geode, just like the one she had held in her hand? What if it were smooth, sparkling crystal, waiting to be discovered.
Above ground, Lyra realized, one can only travel one direction; that is, straight ahead. Gravity and the intangibility of air demands that. Of course, one could always climb a tree or a tower, if one wishes to go straight up. But the gnomes did that without thinking. They could travel up and down as well, as far up and as far down as the ground could go. They could dig deeper and deeper, deep into the hidden heart of the earth itself, where no light has ever touched.
But perhaps it wasn’t so glamorous. Likely, all that was down there was dirt, stones, and mud. Perhaps the gnomes truly did have uncouth tastes, and never yearned for anything more beautiful than dark, dirty passageways. It may be that the little gnomelets were so enchanted by the gold button only because they never saw anything so lovely in their daily lives.
Her thoughts began to wander for a moment, but then she remembered something important.
She would need to replace that gold button on her waistcoat. It really was a pretty thing.

Oc Infodumping time!
I got tagged by the delightful @lucien-lachance to do this oc questionaire and it looked fun so i can't resist!
Tagging some peeps to do it bc i need all the lore on your ocs! @mightymizora @archduke-enver-gortash @meanbossart @illumiera @bunniletto
heres the questions!
What is your oc's name? Why did you choose it? Were there any other names you considered?
How was your oc raised? What kind of background?
What values do they have? How were they instilled in them?
What does your oc look like? Have they had other designs? How has their look changed?
Does your oc have a family? What do they define as family?
Does your oc have a mentor or someone they look up to? Why do they look up to them?
What has been the most significant event in your oc's life? How has this affected them?
Who does your oc care about? Is it reciprocal?
What are your oc's hobbies? How do they relax?
What should we understand most about your oc?
gonna put my answrs under a readmore bc itll probably be long! its for jura btw
1: Ok so Jura was my first ever actual oc so i didn't think much for her name, i stole Jura from a different book because it looked and sounded cool to me and i stole rhapsodos from my favorite final fantasy character because i can do that. Ironically her second surname Zakierus i did come up with on my own, as its a surname on loan from my original work, the fallacy of the damned. I never really thought of any other name for her because hers just really seemed to fit from the beginning
2: So Jura's parents were both assassins, her father was a thalmor assassin who fell in love with her mother who was a member of the dark brotherhood, and they fled from the thalmor to hide in windhelm. They both had a good deal of money so they were able to settle down comfortably and as far as most people in windhelm were aware, they were merchants but also that's technically true because Ivette did own Rhapsodos brewery and orchard in Cyrodil and is one of the bigger purporters of cider in the empire, and one of black briar meadery's biggest rivals. because of her family's money, Jura and lyra were able to live comfortable childhoods where they never had to struggle or go without.
With the small caveat that they're both trained to be assassins in the dark brotherhoods ways from the time they're big enough to hold a wooden dagger.
It isn't until Jura gets attacked by a sabre cat outside of windhelm and loses her eye that she turns to magic instead and apprentices with the court wizard wuunferth to learn magic from him.
3: So something that's big in Jura's story is that her morals are pretty contradictory. She's big on loyalty and perfectionism, and she's a mostly kind and compassionate person, even if she tends to be rude, but at the same time, while she detests necromancy and holds the mortal soul sacred, she's perfectly fine with thievery and murder.
She's the classic I'll kill you but i won't desecrate your soul. (She'll desecrate your religious artifacts though don't test her)
it comes from being raised by lawful evil assassins in the brotherhoods ways in that she doesn't blink when it comes to killing people for money but she draws the line at soul trapping people and necromancy.
4: So Jura is half nord and half altmer and she has a lot of altmer traits even though by canon standards (i just vomited in my mouth a little) she's a nord. So she has golden tan skin, partially pointed ears and her facial structure is more like an elves than a nords. She has gold eyes with a ring of crimson around her pupils, coppery red hair (that's literally flaming when shes got dragon aspect going on) and when she gets pissed off, the veins in her face glow gold with magic. She's also missing her left eye and has two scars going directly across her eye and face from when she was attacked by the sabre cat as a child. She doesn't have many other scars as she focused primarily on learning healing magic during her studies growing up before branching out more
5: Jura does have family left! She has her twin sister Lyra, with whom shes very close but she also considers the dark brotherhood to be her family as well, with babette and astrid practically being the twins aunts and Festus as her mean grumpy uncle. She also considers Faralda and Tolfdir to be her second parents, to the point that they fill said role at her wedding to Miraak/Faustus depending on the verse (and were frankly some of the few people to even know she was getting married) In my dark brotherhood au with @lucien-lachance and her listener oc Faustus, they have twin daughters Valerie and Vivian
6: For someone who loses a lot of people they care about and doesnt respect many people, Jura has a lot of mentors. She has wuunferth, who first instilled her hatred of necromancy and is frankly the main reason she has any sense of morals at all. Furthermore there's Faralda, who was the first and primary mage to take her under her wing at the College of Winterhold, as well as Festus who was also her mentor there. Babette has always been a mentor to her as well, and is usually the one to urge caution and is capable of yanking Jura's leash and getting her to settle down better than anyone else alive at this point. Jura looks up to all of them because even as a youngster she was bold, brash, annoying and obnoxious but they all still graciously put up with her despite that and worked hard to keep her in line and grounded and she really appreciates that none of them just abandoned her to do whatever she wanted no matter the consequences when it would've been easier to do so.
7: The most significant event in Jura's life would probably be getting mauled by the sabre cat because it lead to her doing an entire 180 with what she wanted to do with herself. Before then she was on her way to being part of the next generation of the dark brotherhood, with excellent martial and sneak skills, and then without warning she's nearly died, even though she survived she's physically disabled from losing her eye, she can't use a bow any more and that was her favorite weapon and how she planned to kill. but it was the fact that she fucking suffered on the brink of death for days because there wasn't a very competent healer in Windhelm that turned her to restoration as a school because she wanted to be the person that she needed when she nearly died and that's what lead her to planning on becoming a priest of arkay.
And of course it was her parents being killed by vampires that was the second most significant event in her life because its what took her away from the path of the righteous and religious and down the road to revenge instead.
8: Jura cares about her sister, the dark brotherhood, and her apprentices at the college. And of course Miraak and Faustus in their respective verses. It's very much reciprocated even if she annoys most of them lol
9: Jura doesn't have a lot of hobbies that don't involve setting things on fire but she likes drawing with charcoal though she never shows anyone these pictures, she also spends most of her down time reading a variety of different things whether its religious or historical, magically inclined or not. Her main hobby is fetching books for Urag and the arcaneum and reorganizing her library at mistwatch. In my darkbrotherhood au shes the brotherhoods archivist
10: The most important thing to understand about Jura is that she's a complex character with conflicting morals and she's aware that her morals contradict each other. it leads to her being very chaotic where she's just as likely to help someone as she is to hurt them and its totally dependent on what the situation is.
Here have a Jura pic for good measure

quick lil trev siblings scene below the cut. super early game in lyra's worldstate
Lyra is only up for a few minutes before Lysander arrives in her room, a satchel of some kind in one hand and two mugs of ale in the other.
“Did I wake you?” he asks, not waiting for a response before settling himself into the room’s only chair. “I come bearing breakfast.”
Lyra sits up in bed, smoothing her hair self-consciously before settling on the edge of the bed. She still isn’t sure how to talk to her brother, and the impromptu nature of this visit is doing her no favors. Wordlessly, she accepts the food as Lysander hands it to her, some bread and cheese, some preserved fruit, and one of the mugs, which she considers before tasting.
“Courtesy of Flissa,” Lysander says. “She told me to say she’s glad you’re doing better by the way.”
She wonders if Lysander is sleeping with Flissa. She has only met her briefly, but she likes her enough that she considers warning her off – she doubts her brother would do his duty by a barmaid should something happen. She tries the ale again, grimacing at the bitter taste.
Lysander frowns, then looks delighted. “Is this your first time?” he asks.
“Hardly,” Lyra replies, which is close enough to true. She had had a glass or two of wine at plenty of dinners with the senior enchanters, especially in the days leading to the Conclave. And she had a few sips of ale back in her apprentice days, supplied by one of the girls in her dormitory, a fiery redhead who was sleeping with one of the templars. He would sneak in all sorts of contraband for her from the outside, and all the other girls would jealously pour over treats and fine jewelry and books that had no place in the Circle’s library.
Lyra had thought it was a bad idea at the time, and her distaste for rulebreaking was validated a few months later when the affair ended badly and the girl was quickly transferred away to the Kirkwall Circle.
She had almost certainly been killed in the Annulment, she realizes. It’s a grim thought to have about someone she hasn’t spoken to in years.
She takes another gulp of the ale, trying her hardest to mask her distaste, and sets the mug down primly.
“When will you be heading back?” she asks. Back to where, she isn’t certain. Her understanding from Mother and Father’s letters is that Lysander has spent the past decade or so living at the whims of different wealthy, noble friends, staying at their estates until his host finally tires of weeks or months of her brother’s revelries and he moves on to the next.
There were vocations between that, some meaningless role in the Ostwick militia, sporadic semesters at the University of Orlais studying Maker knew what, each of which her parents grew less and less hopeful about each time.
The matter of Lysander’s eventual inheritance has been an unspoken conflict for as long as Lyra can remember, and as much as her parents seem to have finally given up the prospect of him growing into a worthy heir for House Trevelyan, no plans to instate one of her cousins instead seem to have been made. Her mother only acknowledged it once in Lyra’s memory, in one of her rare permitted visits to the Circle. Lysander had done something – skipped out on an opportunity her parents had arranged for him or disgraced himself in some manner that required their parents' intervention – and as she complained about it, Lyra’s mother had taken Lyra by the hand and said, “If only you hadn’t been a mage. If only we could have had you instead.”
She stopped herself immediately after, looking a bit ashamed. “This is all a part of Andraste’s plan, of course,” she corrected. “I only wish She’d show me what it is.”
Lysander shrugs at her question. “Who knows,” he says. “I thought I might stay around for a bit, keep an eye on my dear sister. Interesting things are happening here.”
Not interesting to men like her brother. Haven’s encampment is made of rough cabins and tents and a single tavern. Most of the women here are Chantry sisters. But Lyra doesn’t believe in his brotherly affection either. “A bit late to start keeping an eye on me now.”
“Better late than never,” he replies affably. “I have news, by the by. Letters from our esteemed parents.” He produces two envelopes from the satchel. Lyra understands now. Staying here, keeping an eye on her, evaluating the risk and reward of House Trevelyan’s role in the fledgling Inquisition, is doubtlessly his latest assignment from their parents, the same way attending the Conclave was in the first place, before he slept drunkenly past it. She has no doubt this will turn out just as poorly. She gives it a fortnight before he leaves for more exciting company.
She fingers over the letters, one from Mother, one from Father, before putting them in her bedside drawer. She’ll read them later, in private.
Lysander watches this with surprisingly apt attention before he snatches up a piece of Lyra’s breakfast and takes a bite.
“Did you know we had family at the Conclave?” he asks. “Present company aside, obviously. You remember Mother’s cousin and those two horrible twins of his, the templars? Did you know them?”
Lyra shakes her head. “They wouldn’t have stationed a templar at a Circle where they had family,” she says. What if a mage became possessed? A moment of sentimental hesitation could be the difference between life and death.
She does remember the twins, though. The two girls – named Hippolyta and Hester or something equally horrible and alliterative – were younger daughters of a more minor branch of the family. Other families as far back in the line of succession as her aunt and uncle might have seized the chance to arrange strategic marriages, but Uncle Leontes, more pious than even Mother, was more interested in earning the Chantry’s approval, so the girls had been sent to be trained as templars as soon as they could walk.
Lyra had only met them once, at their older sister’s wedding. She was freshly Harrowed at only 18, and her parents had seized upon her new status as a full Enchanter to request she be allowed a reprieve from the Circle to demonstrate her magic at the wedding. It was the kind of assignment usually granted as a reward for more senior Enchanters, but Lyra’s sterling reputation and two well-timed donations – one to the Circle library, one to the templar armory – had earned her approval for the excursion.
If anything, it had been a chance for Mother and Father to play at another life for the three of them – Lyra had truly attended not as a representative of the Circle, but as the only daughter of Lady and Lord Trevelyan, clad in fine dresses rather than stiff Enchanter’s robes, introducing herself to family members that in another world she might have had full lives with, and even allowing herself dances with third and fourth sons of guests from the groom’s side.
The twins both wore the crimson regalia of off-duty templars, a notable step down from some of the evening’s finery. They had the same tan skin and grey-blue eyes as the rest of Lyra’s family, but both borrowed twin shocks of dark blonde curls from their mother. The girls were clearly identical, both with flat cheekbones and pointed noses, but the resemblance stopped beneath their chins. One of them was big – not much taller than Lyra and no taller than her sister, but simply big – stocky and muscular in a way that was impressive even among templars. She had smiled at Lyra when they were briefly introduced, muttering a greeting that she didn’t quite make out. The other was smaller, with an archer’s broad arms and willowy legs. She had looked Lyra up and down with a practiced, incisive ease. Lyra wasn’t sure what to do, so she had curtsied and was taken aback when the other girl responded with a small, stiff bow.
“Enchanter,” her cousin said finally.
“Ser,” Lyra had replied, and spent the rest of the night trying to ignore the templar’s continued gaze.
“Well,” Lysander says. “They’re dead.” He shrugs, and for once, Lyra isn’t sure she believes in his flippancy. That could have been him, after all, if he had been a bit less lazy and a bit less of a drunk.
Lyra had hardly seen Lysander that night – the only time they had been together since she had been taken to the Circle nearly a decade earlier. He hadn’t been at her parent’s estate when she arrived. “Out with his friends,” her mother had said with a roll of her eyes – a euphemism for more colorful complaints of her son that she would make later that night, once she had had a bit to drink.
At the wedding, their only interaction had been when Lysander, already tipsy, had grabbed her arm and pulled her to the middle of a conversation she hadn’t been a part of. “– and this,” he had said, “is my dear sister, already graduated in the Ostwick Circle.”
“Harrowed,” Lyra had corrected.
“Indeed. And young for it too. How old are mages usually when they hallow? 20? 21? I couldn’t lace my own breeches at 18.” She didn’t know how he had known that. The inner workings of the Circle were little known on the outside, and while she had told all of this to her mother and father in their letters, she and Lysander had never written.
Whoever he was speaking to had laughed, and with that, her part in the conversation was over. She didn’t see him for the rest of the night, he having no doubt faded into some back room to gamble with other guests or flirt with the servants or partake in some other debauchery Lyra had no knowledge of.
But Lyra rarely thought of that night. In her mind, her brother was still the nineteen-year-old watching her from the other side of the hall when the templars came, still the boy with the too-easy smile who had turned his gaze when she looked to him. The man from the wedding and this drunken fool sitting before her were still strangers.
Lyra sighs. “Well,” she says. “Maker rest their souls.”
“Weightier words from the Herald of Andraste.”
Lyra nods. She doesn’t want to talk about this, not with Lysander.
For once, her brother is quiet, his gaze lingering on her, waiting for her to speak. With a shock, she recognizes something sincere in it – he is waiting for her to tell him if she is or isn’t. If she says she is, he might even believe her.
She feels embarrassed, not excited and certain like she had when she had first heard the title. “The Maker has a path for us all,” she says vaguely. “I’m just trying to follow mine the best I can.”
He relaxes a bit, taking another sip of his ale. “Hear, hear,” he says. “In another life, you might have had a great career as a Chantry sister.”
She smiles – she’ll take it as a compliment, even if he means it as a jab. “So I’m told.”

I have several new OCs for something original I’m cookin 👀
I don’t let the fact I can’t draw stop me… I used He/ro Forge to make approximate models of my new girls!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meet Dolly the centaur, Jade the naga, Lyra the minotaur, Berry the slime girl, and Nessa the dragon girl!
Dolly is the owner of the Monstere Cafe, a place where half-humans and full monsters alike can gather to eat. She’s got that Southern hospitality charm but is a little no-nonsense. She’s an owner of a small business, above all, and she’s here to make sure her customers get what they want, whether they end up in a belly or cram someone else in theirs. She may be an older horse (44 and counting), but she’s still got it!
Jade is a refined lady of more luxurious tastes. She’s 23 and a recent graduate of a prestigious academy for naga women, Goldscale. (Top of her class, too, mind.) Nagas are expected to enter society as magic wielders and alchemists and are known for their slender, sleek beauty. Jade takes pride in her lovely green scales, but she bears a secret… she really wishes she could put on some weight. She bemoans a metabolism much too high for a half-snake. She’s also had this reoccurring dream where she’s slurped down like a noodle by a human she keeps waking up from blushing like a fool…
Lyra is a lady who knows what she wants and coyly reminds you of that every step of the way. She is not for the easily embarrassed. (Or maybe she is, if you’re into that.) She’s an apprentice at a store that caters to monsters with bodies that do not accommodate human clothes very well. She is a warm presence, even if that warmth occasionally spreads to your cheeks as she teases you for staring at her outrageous bust…
Berry is everyone’s cheerleader. She’s bubbly and a touch airheaded, but hey, slimes don’t have brains anyway. Cut her a break. She runs a self-help podcast for monsters with poor body image and shyness about their roles in the pred/prey system, and she is a HUGE supporter of gainers trying to develop the body they want. As overenthusiastic as she is, though, if you find yourself hungry, you may end up with a mouthful of strawberry slime and fed much more than you bargained for.
Nessa has opinions, and you’re going to hear them. Loud and brash, this biker girl is fed up with the stereotyping of the monster world. Nessa is staunchly a prey 99% of the time and very blunt about it. She may bully you if you hesitate in your decision to put her on the menu. She’s been known to cram herself into people’s mouths, too, out of pure frustration… Despite her argumentative and pushy tendencies, her dream is to become a professional tattoo artist, and she enjoys volunteering at local bestiaries.
