Whatever momentary happiness Lucifer had felt in seeing his little sister Azrael show up to the battle was quickly dashed with that one sentence.
I'm sorry, Lu.
What did that mean? Why was she sorry? What did she have to be sorry for?
"No."
She was here for Chloe.
He turned in time to see her, holding up Amenadiel's necklace with a triumphant smile on her face. It was happening now, right now. He called her name too late and he watched in horror as Michael ran her through with the jagged edge of Zadkiel's staff.
He screamed her name then, watching as his whole world collapsed to the concrete platform. He had taken off running towards her, the only singular thought being that he needed to get to her, he needed to save her.
"No, no, no, no, no, no!" He chanted over and over again, falling to his knees beside her and gathering up in his arms. "I'm sorry! This is all my fault! It's my fault!"
She was touching his face, the light in her eyes dimming as she assured him it wasn't. But he knew it was. He let her bet here, he put her in danger. She mentioned Dan and how his death wasn't her fault, either. She was fading, her voice going quieter until...
"I love you."
Her eyes closed, her hand fell from his face and Lucifer broke. He held her close sobbing. This couldn't be happening, this couldn't be happening.
But she didn't move, she didn't open her eyes, she didn't take a breath. She was gone. With a shattered cry, he lowered her carefully to the ground, sobbing over her body.
His insufferable twin, the heartless monster, offered little comfort, muttering about how it sounded like she had made peace, that she was in Heaven.
Heaven. A place he hadn't been to since the rebellion, a place he couldn't return to without burning to ashes. She was there. She was there.
No. He decided then and there with the ultimate note of finality.
No.
No!
It wasn't her time, this wasn't right. Damn this war, damn Michael, damn Hell, Earth and Heaven. Damn it all to the ground.
He was going to get her back.

Done.
Did I end up crying my eyes out? Yes, absolutely.
Did I hate how it ends/what they did with season 6? Also yes.
Mostly because it made no fucking sense and just added unnecessary drama. Don't get me wrong, I am a sap and loved all the Deckerstar goodness but overall I just hate the time travel trope with a passion. Since always. There are so many logical issues it involves and things constantly changing simply by Rory appearing out of the blue for example. (In that context, don't get me started on free will since that was mentioned. lol)
Like cool, Lucifer did not become God which I didn't like in first place and that rubbed me wrong all through 5B. And Linda in a way making him realize that he wants to be a therapy!devil. Fine. Whatever. But one question: WHY THE FUCK COULD HE NOT COMMUTE BETWEEN EARTH AND HELL???
Listen, I might be too dumb to see or get it but the whole unnecessary drama for Deckerstar could have been avoided that way. Especially since Amenadiel, fucking GOD now!, could come and go but Chloe had to suffer? Live a life without Lucifer???? Lucifer who knew firsthand how it felt to be abandoned by his father?? Who grew so much over 5 seasons only for the writers to take his agenda from him? Make him and Chloe suffer? Let Rory suffer? Trixie? All his friends? For what exactly? Cause technically, Lucifer might have helped Rory to free her from her guilt but doesn't this add to changing the future since when she came back to her time she knows and accepts what her dad did? Like it wouldn't have come to this in the first place if she hadn't forced him??? TBF her whole showing up was as far-stretched as it comes so there's that.
So, see, this is exactly why I have a problem with this trope because it is just so damn messy and pretty much ends in it all not making sense.
Like I get that after the unexpected renewal for s6 the writers had to come up with something for s6, and again I loved the Deckerstar moments that we deserved and longed for but... at what cost??? Couldn’t they come up with something else to get Lucifer become the devil again instead of God?? And screwing him and his character growth into the trash for RIDICULOUS AND UNNECESSARY DRAMA???
Again, I am happy that Deckerstar is and always was endgame but these last decisions were simply not it imho. Also... the reunion felt underwhelming, but again... I am happy and glad that after all this mess, they did get their forever happy end.

Though I finished it in 2020, after S4 had aired, I think it works quite well as a S4-S6 fix-it for those who'd like one.
In Sorrow Thou Shalt Bring Forth Children
210k words. The 50 female-focused "blip" years Lucifer's finale conveniently left out, also several post-S6 chapters. Heavy angst surrounding family and spiritual trauma but aims to be cathartic by acknowledging pain. All that said, more humor and Deckerstar than you'd probably expect, given the CW tags.

12k words. Feel-good, funny, sexy AU where Lucifer is still the Devil, but he and Chloe didn't meet as in canon. Instead, they meet a couple of years later, after Lucifer has naturally gotten a phone and Chloe has divorced Dan and is now resorting to dating apps to meet people. Features a fun gimmick of Tinder-like chat logs (used sparingly, I promise).
Something More & Pump It Up
11k words when read together. These two canon compliant fics won't seem like they go together at first, but I promise they do (thematically). Both are pre-canon and about the subtle ways in which Lucifer and Chloe are an amusingly great match. They just haven't met (yet) to know it! The first story is sweet and about Jed and Chloe's relationship; basically a character study of Chloe as told from Jed's POV. The second is a bit of a sex farce about Lucifer watching Hot Tub High School after settling in L.A., but it's also porn with plot or at least a character study.
Not to Mii
10k words. Lucifer sticks around at the end of S3's "The Last Heartbreak." One thing leads to another, and you get strip Mario Kart. I promise it works.
The Fine Line Between Desire and Fear
10k words. Feel-good and silly post-5A divergence featuring a haunted mansion on Halloween. Almost solely Deckerstar-focused but also imagines a future where Michael is trying to redeem himself and earn Ella's affection; the only problem is that he's afraid...of a lot, actually. The irony!
Sweet and Sour
10k words. A comical Michael/Ella fic based on the 5A trailer. Turned out to be rather in-character for many aspects of Michael, so it holds up, I think.
Now That's What I Call Big Devil Energy! Series: Big Devil Energy & Satan's Got a Heart On
9k words when read together. Funny, sweet chaos. Lucifer being a completely over-the-top Devil in love.

“Yeah, I was just—” he starts to explain about the mail again, gesturing to the door, when he seems to get the gist of what Eddie’s really saying, and his shoulders slump down a little then with a release of tension; “Eddie, of course I stayed.”
Of course.
Of course, because his son called him. Christopher called Buck, and Buck came running. Buck busted down the door. Buck got Eddie on his feet. He got Christopher settled, and reassured, and then he led Eddie out of the rubble of his room and over to the dining table.

So now that time has passed and we've all had time to think about it without the initial rush of excitement, what do you think of Lucifer's ending?
i think, for the most part, my feelings are still the same. i do like the actual finale/ending! it find the idea of lucifer healing hell, or at least trying to, and turning it into a place of growth rather than punishment is a good one. i think him and chloe being seperated until her death hurts in a good way, because i find the idea of meeting a loved one again in the afterlife to be a hopeful one. i think it could have been executed much, much better but i don't have any upset feelings about it.
i still think that s6 overall is a pretty weak season though (6x03 is amazing, but otherwise.. meh?) and i think that deckerstar's chemistry was really lacking after 5b.
it's hard because... part of what i really loved about the show WAS deckerstar, why deny it! i'm a shipper, i love romance! and i do feel like they got a satisfactory ending. it's just... my issue is how their relationship was leading up to it. it feels like they just took all the flavor out of the ship after s4 to me.
the MOST exciting part, the fact that chloe made lucifer physically vulnerable was really important to me and them taking that away really did kill the vibe to me esp since the whole way they went about it was forced and convoluted and poorly explained.
i don't like how in order to make their s5 storyline work they had to crap over the s4 finale. i don't like how chloe loses all of her agency and becomes essentially a support team for lucifer and little else and i don't like lucifer's self worth journey is tied to chloe loving him/him loving her in the end honestly. to a degree that's great, but how heavily they leaned on that just felt like not the best writing to me esp with how often they had him make progress and them regress over and over again.
that said, i'm biased and i love storylines of ADULT children finding their fathers and bonding with them after never knowing them. it's a me thing and i do get why rory divided the fandom, and i knew them having a kid would do that regardless of how it came to be, but it was a far worse reaction than i ever anticipated, honestly. i think if they wanted to bring lucifer being a father into the picture they had to start subtlety building to that all the way back in s3, but they didn't plan on it so him so DEEPLY wanting to raise a baby to me doesn't feel true to his character as we know him. but him reconnecting with an adult child i DO buy, and i appreciate the message that while you can't control everything that happens to you, you can control how you react to it and the decisions you make moving forward. the idea that it's never too late to heal, to be better, to make amends is what i have always loved about lucifer and i do think rory's arc showcases that even if it wasn't handled the best way.
i think i eventually am just gonna have to rewatch the whole show with a little distance to really see it as it is, instead of how i expected it to be when it was still airing live, you know? and maybe someday the fandom can agree to disagree about the finale instead of biting each other's heads off which is what really has turned me off to talking about the show at all.

berry, i have FINALLY finished all 6 seasons of lucifer (season 5 and 6 has hurt my soul, 5b doesn’t exist to me) and man, i love so many characters but i love lucifer and ella the most. ella is most likely a f/o and i won’t deny that she deserves so much ☹️

beloved lucifer anon, i finally finished the series (!!!) and i have the most Thoughts & Feelings. i laughed, i cried, i screamed, i cried some more. it’s been a while since my last true spiral, and god, it's exhilarating. i’d never written a meta spec piece before, and after 5b aired, i was less certain about godadiel—sorry, amenagod. but the show wasn’t over yet and i held onto hope, all the while reluctantly letting myself get used to the idea of lucifer ascending to godhood. i was hanging by a thread through s6 up to those moments when lucifer and amenadiel have their huge revelations. i lost my shit when lucifer admits he doesn’t want to be god; i had to keep myself from screaming “I KNEW IT” after amenadiel says he's going to be god (almost waking up everyone in my house at 3am -- a theme for me this season that was kicked off by the reveal of who rory is !!!!!).
anon, i was flying high, i was chomping at the bit, i was feral. this season has left me with brainworms for days, confirming so many wild theories (#1 dad mug, i’m looking at you, motherfucker), and making me think back to all the seeds that were planted and now harvested, and of course leaving me melting into the floor from all the deckerstar love. (i think the only thing i was truly unprepared for was "welcome to the black parade" playing at the end djsldjsl my emo heart was NOT ready for that!!!)
i really want to delve more into my Thots(tm) about this season and the arcs as a whole, but with my brainworms raving it up, anything i do will just be me going !!!!! at everything. for right now, i’m just going to soak in the show gently kissing me on the head and giving me such good fucking food. the glass i'm chewing is delicious.

Season 5B feels a bit like one filler ep after the next. I mean it's not per se terrible and boring but a lot of the eps leave me ???? like the point was what exactly?? I do have 3 eps left but overall it's kinda weird in a way and it feels a little alienated from the rest.
Plus, Lucifer not saying the L-word is something I get and I expect it to happen in 5x16 probably but the way how Deckerstar is being handled and act also leaves me a little ??? Like please, enough with this back and forth. lmao
Also... the whole God thing might have been amusing at first but now Luci wants to become God? Like what? I am ??????
