Finished Chain of Thorns and here are my final thoughts:

Overall I am pleased with how the characters ended up!! The epilogue did make me cry for them!

I thought the climax of the book was pretty silly. Belial just. Wanted a coronation.

I am actually kind of ticked at how little attention Christopher’s death got. We got to see a good bit of Anna grieving, but the Intermission: Grief section was mainly about James and Matthew going to Edom. And we never got to see Gabriel or Cecily react. And we got SO LITTLE of James, Matthew and Thomas reacting. Not to mention how his death occurred. I was scared for him, then he was fine, then just gone??? I didn’t get to emotionally react either. Just. Feels like a slap in the face to him. He got as much screen time for his death as Barbara, and we didn’t even know her for a whole book.

Anyway. I want a REAL family tree now. CC release it posthaste.

Also. Now we have to wait years to find out what actually makes the gun work. Which is irritating because I don’t even like that Kit can use it in the first place but. I guess.
