I was just watching a piece on lucid dreaming and remembering an old animated Batman episode where he realized he was dreaming because none of the books had words he could read in them.

I read books in my dreams all the time.

Hence tumblr poll time. Please reblog for sample size. I'm seriously curious if reading in dreams is A Thing or not, especially on a site that has a high ratio of people who tap their imagination heavily.

Hello and welcome to this new post! Because many people thought it would be a nice idea to have an affirmation series on my page I thought it would be a good thing to try out. In this post I'll give a few lucid dreaming affirmations, I hope you guys like them and find them useful!

Anw this is a complete dream i had back in grade 4, of me finding a giant angler fish in a deep pond in a Cambodian hotel =)))) It was the fun scare.

Just had the longest. Scariest. Darkest hannibal themed dream nightmare.

Hannibal and Will worked at a museum. No one knew who Hannibal was, not even Will. But they do still have that weird predator/prey relationship and are they about to kiss energy.

Hannibal is the biggest unknown killer in their world. He kills people and preserves them in glass boxes 3' x 1.5'. It's dream science they are tight packed but not cut or bloody they have empty space. Some floral and greenery. They look frozen in time, but not, in their little scene. One of the victims was Aubrey Plaza, but not. If you've ever watched Hannibal, the boxes induce that horribly beautiful feeling you get when you see the crimes on that show (especially the mushroom garden, beehives, and the eye) think like closed living terrariums. Or Shakespearean faerie nudes. A Midsummers night dream(I've never seen or read it). Think like you searched greek roman mythology on pinterest and the pictures that would show up.

He killed Will and a woman puts him in a box hugging his face buried in her chest. I think Will was planning to leave the museum, in turn leaving Hannibal and he couldn't have that.

The scary part is 4, including Will, of Hannibals Boxes are on display in the museum. He gives tours on them.

The dream ends with him at a late night event where he is playing several games with museum goers at once. A lady is rude to him and a kid, so she goes on the list. One of the guys he's playing against is a sore loser. Hannibal does a rally of all the games he's playing and comes up behind the guy and whisks him away, no one notices. Somehow, the woman becomes the last person in the museum, in the dark a black cloak clad Hannibal runs out and snatches her up her screams are the last thing I hear, and then I wake up.

Lucid Dreaming

When you are aware you are dreaming and can therefore control your dream.

1. Reality checks: get in the habit of checking your reality throughout the day, as doing this in a dream can trigger your awareness and a lucid state.

reading - you can't you're dreaming

hands - having more or less than 5 fingers

jump - in a dream you may jump extremely high or fly

palm pressing - your finger may go straight through your hand

2. Dream journal: shown to improve dream recall and increase lucid dreaming.

3. Set the intention: say you're going to lucid dream, think about it right before bed, use affirmations.

4. Wake-back-to-bed technique: setting an alarm in the middle of the night, and laying still afterwards while your body goes back to a sleeping state and your mind stays awake. If you experience sleep paralysis, stay calm and continue or move your toes slowly to wake up.

5. Be patient and keep trying if you don't succeed straight away. It's very possible to learn over time.

I HAD A LUCID DREAM FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Yes, you heard that right! I had a lucid dream! I never had a lucid dream in my life, but I actually did it!

How I did it:

So basically, remember the post I made about forgetting to tap in the void? It was 6 AM when I made that post and I was super tired. I lay down in bed, and then I ended up falling asleep. My REM cycle is always at 6 AM. So while I was sleeping, I ended up having a lucid dream! I wasn't aware of the dream at first, but then I realized I was dreaming and I could control everything! It only lasted a few seconds because I got scared.

I was gonna tap into the void through it, but I was so scared that I woke up and had sleep paralysis, but I got out of the sleep paralysis.

I think my subconscious mind is on my side because I told you guys if I should enter through sleep paralysis, and my subconscious was like "yes you should!"

This is crazy!
